Overpriced drinks and sneaky service charge added to the bill. Decor is nice but very dark like a cave.

I had lovely stay here! Super friendly service and a very comfortable room. The location was incredible and I hope to return. Thank you Lucas for all your help.

Stayed here 2 weeks ago very dissatisfied,rooms were clean very small forthe price we paid. We also have a club mal card which we presented when we ordered drinks they didn't know a thing about it,he thought it was a gift card so couldn't be bothered to explain,so we will not be back. We've stayed in many Mal maisons in the country and never been disappointed

Great hotel. However could not ask for better bar staff. Dani and Shona are so friendly, so welcoming. They will both go the extra mile to please everybody coming in the bar. Great customer service. What a fabulous hotel in a great location! The staff have been amazing, particularly Giuseppe in the restaurant. Excellent food and service.

Our first stay at this particular Malmaison and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by Billie on reception upon arrival for check-in and she also checked us out. She was so cheerful, friendly and polite. She was on duty whenever we entered/exited the hotel and was always acknowledged us in her charming manner. She is a real asset to the hotel. Our room was on the 7th floor and was beautiful, with everything you could wish for - including a Nespresso machine. Breakfast was excellent. The selection of food was extensive and the quality excellent. The hot food was cooked to order, which is a refreshing change from the hot buffet style breakfast that is usually available in most hotels. Hotel located in the heart of the city, so is in an excellent position. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Great stay in your hotel. The room is large, too bad it's overlooked but we left the curtains closed. I'm removing one star because if I had to rate the restaurant, I would have given it 0/5... a disaster, a super expensive and really not good burger. I recommend the hotel!

Amazing Birthday Celebration at Malmaison Bar & Grill We celebrated my wife’s birthday on Sunday, January 26th, and it was an incredible experience. Our group of 18 enjoyed a perfectly organized evening with a well-planned pre-set menu. The six options available were excellent, and everyone in the family was delighted with their meals. The restaurant’s decor was beautiful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for the celebration. However, the real highlight was the outstanding service—Daniel took care of every detail, ensuring we had a fantastic time. His attentiveness and professionalism made all the difference, and the entire family left feeling satisfied and happy. Additionally, four of our group stayed at the hotel, and we were equally impressed with the accommodation. The staff were extremely helpful and made sure all our needs were met, especially as my brother is disable and his specific needs. They went above and beyond to ensure his stay was comfortable and hassle-free, and particularly breakfast - the prepared and send it to our room out of the breakfast hours, which we truly appreciated. Thanks Craig and his fantastic team. I highly recommend Malmaison Edinburgh City for any special occasion! kudos to John and all the team.

The hotel is perfectly located, close to everything. Easy to access from the airport. Very well decorated. The staff is attentive, being very demanding, the staff was able to respond to my requests. We were able to get an upgrade in exchange for a more than fair price. The only negative point is that the shower is broken (the pipes have a hole).

I'm talking about the restaurant part, because I've been there. I found the restaurant nice and welcoming, not informal but perfect for spending New Year's Eve. Kind and attentive waiters.

We had a group reservation at 7pm and waited an hour for our dinner, even though we had sent our meal preferences in advance. The dining room was freezing, so I kindly asked if it could be warmed up. They replied that everyone was happy with the temperature but said they would increase the heat, though it would take some time. However, nothing changed, and I’m quite sure they didn’t adjust the heat—it actually felt even worse. Additionally, the service was extremely slow, and the main dish arrived cold.

Location is absolutely great. Airport buses are in front of the hotel we walked almost everywhere. Staff is kind, rooms are clean. Bathroom is amazing. If i ever come to Edinburgh again, i will choose Malmaison without a doubt.

Lovely place with very helpful, friendly staff and a great restaurant. Rooms are well equipped and a decent size, but lose a star because the lighting is overly stylish and does not provide adequate actual lighting. Plus I personally do not like the black and somewhat grotesque wallpaper, but that's obviously a matter of taste. But overall it's a good choice for central Edinburgh.

We spent two nights in Malmaison. We slept really really well, the bed was just great! The room and the whole hotel atmosphere is quite special, but we loved it! The staff is great, the food is very good, and you really feel home! Everyone at Malmaison wants to make your experience unique, they really take care of every client, and that is something we can't forget. I hope we can come back to this place one day, and I'm already looking forward to stay in an other Malmaison to live the same but different experience! Thank you again to the whole team for making our stay so special! Special thanks to Dara and her crew! (And to the young lady in the restaurant for the good laughs we've had together!)

Really nice hotel with fun decor. Room was spacious and clean. Good location to walk from station or into centre of Edinburgh. Would recommend and would happily stay here again.

I would like to thank Ella for her fantastic service and the help she offered me, as an older woman travelling alone. Great location but the rooms are all a little dark and have small windows.

Nice hotel ideally located in the centre of Edinburgh. Hotel, bar & restaurant are decorated in typical Malmaison boutique style. Rooms were large and well equipped, although pillows were too soft for my preference, also could do with better lighting round the mirror at the dressing table. Staff were friendly and we had a nice breakfast included in ourbooking, although it's perhaps not worth the individual price of £21. Overall, I would happily stay here again.
