We’ve been ordering food here for a few years and it’s never disappointed us. It’s the best Indian food in Taunton. The nan breads are so yummy. Also try the Southen green curry it’s delish! Thanks for the great service.

food arrived late, rang them twice first time was told food on its way, second time I rang I was told it had left half an hour ago and the person on the phone was very rude to me on the phone. apparently the traffic was horrendous in town meaning it took 40 mins to drive 2ish miles when I looked no traffic on the roads and no diversions. definitely do not recommend them and their customer service is absolutely shocking. oh and the food was pretty much stone cold when it arrived

Honestly the best curry I have ever had in my entire life (sounds like an exaggeration but it’s not!). Every dish has its own unique delicious flavour and is described so accurately on the menu. The keema naan is amazing with very generous portions of keema. The staff are always so lovely, polite and friendly and provide great service. I don’t live in Taunton anymore but come down just for the curry!

I ordered a takeaway for NYE. Once again the food was beautiful and the whole meal was very enjoyable.When I ordered, my time slot was. 6.25pm, so was caught out when it arrived at 6.05pm! I had to jump out the shower and collect from the door! Not the best look!! Otherwise another fabulous meal.I look forward to the next one.

Ordered dinner as takeaway, and the experience was extremely disappointing. First, they gave us the wrong order, and we had to go back to the restaurant to get the correct food, which was really frustrating. Also, the taste of the food was not good at all. I ordered saag paneer, and there was only one piece of paneer in the entire dish. Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience.

I'd really gone off Indian cuisine after a few takeaways from different restaurants were a letdown. My daughter asked to go out before Christmas for an Indian meal, and this one was one of the few that are open on Mondays. The food and service were perfect. Absolutely no complaints at all. Really delicious food. Complimentary poppadoms and chutneys. Attentive service. My daughter is a vegetarian, and there was a lot of choice, even vegan options. Safe to say, we will return.

Great meal, only thing I’d say is fix the door as we had to close ourselves. But other than that great! Thankyou

I really dont like to leave negative reviews to local businesses.... but.... We ordered 4 main meals, along with rice/naan etc, but we were delivered only 3 of these, and 1 of the main meals was wrong. I phoned the restaurant to tell them of the issues, and i wanted a decent refund for the fact our meal was essentially ruined (only 2 main meals out of 4) It was already about 25 minutes late- and they only offered a refund for the missing dish (after lengthy conversations/arguments with the kitchen). We ordered 'butter chicken', which we have had so many times before (from many places), but they then proceeded to tell me this white, creamy dish which had incredibly strong coconut flavour (essentially pasanda). Not what we expect from Butter chicken and didnt like it at all. I asked to speak to the manager, but the chap insisted he was the manager, and refused to do anything else apart from one dish refund. If you spend £80 on a take away meal- you want to enjoy it- but thier attitude was shocking and rude- and actually didnt apologise once for thier mess up. We didnt get any refund because i had to hang up mid-argument and try and enjoy the food they actually did deliver. Food was about 3/5 from what we had- but attitude and customer service was so bad, we'll never eat there again.

I collected my takeaway last night. The staff were lovely and very polite. The food was amazing. Good quality food with great flavour and generous portions! One of the best Indian takeaways I have had, me and my family loved it. Would definitely reccommend!

Have visited and had takeaway from them lots of times but tonight something went wrong, we had a meal in the restaurant took over an hour for our food then we had the wrong dish turn up , once this was corrected we noticed that the food even though very tasty had little chicken in it, we spoke to them and said they were busy with takeaway customers but surely they need to put there paying restaurant customers first and add more meat to there dishes for the prices charged. We won't be returning anytime soon.

10/10 lamb pathia awesome and melt in the mouth meat. Obviously slow cooked for some time .

Fantastic restaurant with a lovely ambience. The service here is perfect, down to earth, friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Made us feel very at ease. the staff were amiable and courteous, despite us taking forever to make our minds up what to eat. They have a drinks licences but also, more imprtantly for me, they do alcohol free beers too. All served ice cold. As for the food, well it did not dissapoint, endless tasty melt in the mouth puppadoms, and an absoultely delicous curry. I had tha Taj Rezotti, and it was really good, nice thick tangy curry sauce with perfectly cooked mixed meats including lamb, chicken tikka and sheesh kebab pices. The sauce has some wonderful aromas and aftertastes with cinanamon and fennel coming through which erallyu complemented the marinated meat flavours. The sides where spot on too, a generous poertion of onion bhajis perfectly crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth in the middle, delciuous garlic naan (I can still taste this now 2 days later if I stop to think abnout it) and perfect pilau. thank you very much for a really nice evening

Had a fantastic meal last night 6/9/24. Our waited Mo and Host Omar were great fun and very welcoming. The food was delicious, I had Moris for a main and mushroom rice with garlic naan yummy, definitely going back again soon. Thanks guys for a great evening 🥇

We turned up here unannounced one evening and although fairly busy, they found us a table with no problems. Great selection of delicious sounding dishes. The food was outstanding. Possibly the best Indian food we'd ever had. The staff were really friendly and helpful. One guy turned up on his own just before 10pm and they still sat him down and fed him. A lot of places would have said the kitchen was closed at that time of night. Highly recommend this eatery.

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Taunton. It is a five star all round! The service is second to none! Very welcoming, food is varied and they always have new dishes in the menu. Portions are ample! Highly recommended!!!

Eaten here twice (albeit a while ago and just remembered the name now), dine in and takeaway. The food was brilliant, and the takeaway process was smooth and not too long a wait. I do recall on our first visit asking the young waiter if they had lassi and something else as we didn’t see it on the menu and figured it could be unlisted but made at-request (as some places do). The server was unfamiliar with the terms and thought we were making up works, which gave us a giggle. Eventually we gave up trying to convince him they were real and would be a good (normal) addition to the menu, but I still think he thought we were pulling his leg lol. All in all, we had a great time though. I recall having a tasty paneer curry and my friend had the lamb madras. For takeaway later in the month, we probably had 10 different dishes, and everyone enjoyed. Look forward to coming again on my next visit to the area

From the moment we walked in the door I knew it was going to be a good night. They were very welcoming and seated us very quickly. The food was brought to our table not long after ordering, and I must say it really was the best balti special I have ever tasted in my life. The meat was succulent and the sauce was to die for. That coupled with the special fried rice left me wanting a lot more when I finished. So many flavours from the dish that I was actually very happy and excited to eat there. Overall we were a party of five and we all very much so enjoyed the experience and most importantly the food. I really couldn't recommend this place enough.

always have a curry at this place, but this time it was very poor, tough chicken 🐔, watery madras sauce and greasey onion bajeys, will be trying other places from now on.

The food was superb. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for it. We were only 4 people. They only apologised for the wait after we started asking questions after an hour. The restaurant was full, so it was very loud. The tables are very close together, so no privacy and a little uncomfortable.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. This was our first visit but certainly not our last. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. A real gem.

Food lovely as usual although ordered 2 samosas and only got one. Delivery driver got back in his car and was staring at our house and pointing, which made his girlfriend stare at our house. Not sure what that was about but a bit strange if not unprofessional.

Food was bland and the main was salty. Over priced. Disappointed. Service was just about OK. Environment is rustic !

Which when ordered via their app or website always arrives hot, unlike the big chain delivery services!!! ✨My top tip is to check any restaurants website for ordering delivery direct.✨

The food at Mahlia and Taj is wonderful - 4 of us dined in and the service was great. 3 of us are vegan and this has always caused a problem before as I miss the traditional meat curry and curried vegetables doesn't really do it for me. Here most of the menu can be adapted for vegans, with meatless chicken or lamb and is super tasty and authentic. Thank you for a lovely evening 😀🌿

Lovely Staff, always very kind to us! We got a takeaway once and they gave us a discount, a free poppadom and sauce! Lovely Atomosphere! Everyone there is so friendly! Definitely recommend this place! The food is amazing and so delicious! Service is amazing! The food comes out quick and at a perfect temperature!
