Fantastic restaurant with a lovely ambience. The service here is perfect, down to earth, friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Made us feel very at ease. the staff were amiable and courteous, despite us taking forever to make our minds up what to eat. They have a drinks licences but also, more imprtantly for me, they do alcohol free beers too. All served ice cold. As for the food, well it did not dissapoint, endless tasty melt in the mouth puppadoms, and an absoultely delicous curry. I had tha Taj Rezotti, and it was really good, nice thick tangy curry sauce with perfectly cooked mixed meats including lamb, chicken tikka and sheesh kebab pices. The sauce has some wonderful aromas and aftertastes with cinanamon and fennel coming through which erallyu complemented the marinated meat flavours. The sides where spot on too, a generous poertion of onion bhajis perfectly crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth in the middle, delciuous garlic naan (I can still taste this now 2 days later if I stop to think abnout it) and perfect pilau. thank you very much for a really nice evening

Had a fantastic meal last night 6/9/24. Our waited Mo and Host Omar were great fun and very welcoming. The food was delicious, I had Moris for a main and mushroom rice with garlic naan yummy, definitely going back again soon. Thanks guys for a great evening 🥇

We turned up here unannounced one evening and although fairly busy, they found us a table with no problems. Great selection of delicious sounding dishes. The food was outstanding. Possibly the best Indian food we'd ever had. The staff were really friendly and helpful. One guy turned up on his own just before 10pm and they still sat him down and fed him. A lot of places would have said the kitchen was closed at that time of night. Highly recommend this eatery.

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Taunton. It is a five star all round! The service is second to none! Very welcoming, food is varied and they always have new dishes in the menu. Portions are ample! Highly recommended!!!

Eaten here twice (albeit a while ago and just remembered the name now), dine in and takeaway. The food was brilliant, and the takeaway process was smooth and not too long a wait. I do recall on our first visit asking the young waiter if they had lassi and something else as we didn’t see it on the menu and figured it could be unlisted but made at-request (as some places do). The server was unfamiliar with the terms and thought we were making up works, which gave us a giggle. Eventually we gave up trying to convince him they were real and would be a good (normal) addition to the menu, but I still think he thought we were pulling his leg lol. All in all, we had a great time though. I recall having a tasty paneer curry and my friend had the lamb madras. For takeaway later in the month, we probably had 10 different dishes, and everyone enjoyed. Look forward to coming again on my next visit to the area

From the moment we walked in the door I knew it was going to be a good night. They were very welcoming and seated us very quickly. The food was brought to our table not long after ordering, and I must say it really was the best balti special I have ever tasted in my life. The meat was succulent and the sauce was to die for. That coupled with the special fried rice left me wanting a lot more when I finished. So many flavours from the dish that I was actually very happy and excited to eat there. Overall we were a party of five and we all very much so enjoyed the experience and most importantly the food. I really couldn't recommend this place enough.

Just had a takeaway 10/10 absolutely fantastic

always have a curry at this place, but this time it was very poor, tough chicken 🐔, watery madras sauce and greasey onion bajeys, will be trying other places from now on.

The food was superb. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for it. We were only 4 people. They only apologised for the wait after we started asking questions after an hour. The restaurant was full, so it was very loud. The tables are very close together, so no privacy and a little uncomfortable.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. This was our first visit but certainly not our last. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. A real gem.

Food lovely as usual although ordered 2 samosas and only got one. Delivery driver got back in his car and was staring at our house and pointing, which made his girlfriend stare at our house. Not sure what that was about but a bit strange if not unprofessional.

Food was bland and the main was salty. Over priced. Disappointed. Service was just about OK. Environment is rustic !

Which when ordered via their app or website always arrives hot, unlike the big chain delivery services!!! ✨My top tip is to check any restaurants website for ordering delivery direct.✨

it arrived on time but the worst we had in a long long time, we always had a good curry here but this has put this off, korma was brown, chicken tasted funky just not good

The food at Mahlia and Taj is wonderful - 4 of us dined in and the service was great. 3 of us are vegan and this has always caused a problem before as I miss the traditional meat curry and curried vegetables doesn't really do it for me. Here most of the menu can be adapted for vegans, with meatless chicken or lamb and is super tasty and authentic. Thank you for a lovely evening 😀🌿

Lovely Staff, always very kind to us! We got a takeaway once and they gave us a discount, a free poppadom and sauce! Lovely Atomosphere! Everyone there is so friendly! Definitely recommend this place! The food is amazing and so delicious! Service is amazing! The food comes out quick and at a perfect temperature!

Found this on Google, travelling back to Exmouth. A great find on a Sunday evening, one of the few open early in Sunday- mainly for the take-a-way market. Good food, I would recommend any of the Chef's specialities. We stayed for a couple of hours and had three courses- all good, just couldn't eat any more - do we did take some home. I was too busy with the food and company to take any photos and distracted by the contemporary design of the restaurant, really nice place - all good.

Our first time at Maliha & Taj restaurant and we were not disappointed. We had Lamb Dake Shori Jish and Chicken Papeiaza, with pilau rice, aloo gobi and garlic naan. All exceptionally well cooked and presented, best curry we've had in a long time. Will definitely be returning.

Had a nightout last night with family. Food was really delicious and worth of money. Besides, staffs were very friendly. Highly recommended.

We went for the Banquet £19 each any 4 items from menu with exception of prawn dishes I think. Any way. We had a really lovely tastie meal here. I had a mango chicken dish and we had a Korma. No ghee floating in the top or on the naan, which is a relief Tandoori starter and coconut rice all delicious. We will definitely be back..service was very quick. We asked if we could have the starter at the same time, all came out super fast and lovely and hot.

We enjoyed a Birthday meal just recently. There was a large selection of dishes, that were mainly authentic, albeit some with some different additions, ie Sea Bass with fries and onion rings.. Good draft beers on tap, which was nice to see, Kingfisher and Cobra, if you like to indulge. Overall, a happy, friendly experience with good food and served quickly. I love this takeaway, however I think today was an off-day!

We ordered our food at 6.05 we waiting just over the hour and still no food so rang the restaurant yo be told that they where busy and our would be delivered in the next 10 minutes. So another hour past still no food so rang again got told that they had over 50 covers in the restrant that they had to do before ours told that our food would be another 3/4 minutes .food arrived it was not that hot

I cannot put more than 60 minutes!! As it was hour and half! And the driver delivers to the wrong house 🏠 so I would love a refund! The owner had to re-do our order and deliver it himself, I feel for him

The food was good! Hot & plenty of it. Was it worth the £50 I pretty much paid? Probably not. But if I ever wanted an Indian again, I would order from here😊 came early too :)

Well what can I say the sea brass is very small and please do not order the king prawns with the sea brass you only get the one for £5. Its a joke one prawn for £5 I never order from here again.

Unfortunately the delivery estimate Vs the delivery time was significantly longer than JE said it would be, then on top of the long wait it was also delivered later than the slot. The food was not hot enough for our liking which spoiled the taste of the rice in particular. The flavours were good. We would not order for delivery again but would return to the restaurant or collect instead.

I always order from this restaurant and the quality is always incredible, but tonight I ordered early and it was dry, cold and the meat was cold and dry and it appeared that it was left over from a previous service.

As usual, everything was perfect! The delivery arrived right on time, and the food was beautifully cooked with an incredible taste and flavor.

Easily the best curry in Taunton. 1) the food itself is flavourful and delicious. You can taste the individual ingredients in each dish and it’s not just a ‘samey’ curry taste. Also the ingredients are always really fresh and well prepared. AND good portion sizes. 2) always on time or even a little earlier in their delivery window. Food is always hot on arrival and their delivery are friendly, kind and courteous.

Went there with my son-in-law and the rest of the family for his bird. Excellent food and great service, thank you.

Sunday evening meal, a bit quiet as would be expected on a Sunday, seamed to be plenty of take aways going out that didn't effect service. Really lovely flavours, surprised that the best curry was the cauliflower vegetarian choice, deep spicing but not hot.

A welcoming and popular restaurant. There is a very extensive and flexible menu which would cover all tastes. A really good option for vegetarians and vegans.
