Malaga Tapas Clarkston in East Renfrewshire

Valentines meal tonight. Utterly superb. Delicious dishes, as good or better than any tapas we have had in Spain. Iberico pork dish was incredible. Great cocktails, friendly staff and buzzing atmosphere.

Great food and excellent service! Will definitely come again.

Personally, I don't have any complaints, since we arrived, the person who welcomed us and gave us all the service was quite attentive and very attentive, the food was quite good. Portions well managed and well presented, service was fast. I will have to continue trying their tapas again until I complete the menu 💃🔥

Lovely and authentic spanish tapas. Wife was a bit cold, could do with some soft furnishings, plants etc to make more comfortable. Otherwise would recommend.

Along with family from Copenhagen who were visiting for Christmas, we had a lovely evening at Malaga Tapas Clarkston. The food was delicious, everyone at our table loved all the dishes, and the service from Carlos and Carolina was excellent. Will be back!

First time here with a friend we had an amazing meal both of us rated this as the best tapas we had ever had. Everything we had was beautiful with a special mention going to the pollo burgos which was outstanding . Service excellent and atmosphere cosy.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Tried a variety of dishes to share, they were all nice. The special of loaded fries was a massive portion but I cannot say I loved them, the actual fries were a bit dry. Other than that the rest was lovely. Padron peppers great. The goats cheese was really good. Prawns were delicious. All of our choices were great. Service was friendly. The restaurant is small, and it was very busy when we visited and the only thing I would say is having people so close by is a little off putting as you can hear everyone's conversations very well. But on a quiet day I'm sure it would be more comfortable.

Pretty dreadful all round! The plastic pots make everything sweat to mush, garlic bread, Spanish tortilla, fries. In the bin! The other dishes weren't much better. And this is not a cheap option.

This is the worst takeaway I’ve ever had. Dripping in oil, looked like it had been dropped on the floor and picked back up it was that bad. Couldn’t even eat it it was that greasy! Straight into the bin. Waste of £30

Siempre amable con altos estándares de servicio y calidad de la comida. Es kilómetros por encima de los otros lugares de tapas en Glasgow que he probado. ¡5 estrellas!

Fue un miércoles por la noche y el restaurante estaba lleno. Gran ambiente, gran servicio del personal amable. Las tapas son las mejores que he probado. Absolutamente delicioso y caliente! Nos sentimos muy decepcionados por el servicio que recibimos. Habíamos llamado por teléfono para explicar que llegaríamos un poco tarde debido a problemas de transporte y nos recibieron con un camarero sucio que no nos hizo bienvenidos, dando la impresión de que nos estaba haciendo un favor. Se nos pidió que moviéramos la mitad de la comida para acomodar a otros y luego otro camarero se llevó nuestra botella de vino inacabada, ya que ‘tuvieron que tomar la mesa de nuevo’. Actitud grosera y agresiva con la notable excepción de la joven estudiante que asiste a Dundee Uni. Ella era muy servicial y accesible. No volveremos.

The food is absolutely delicious, can't recommend it enough! I've visited a handful of times and it's consistently impressive. I highly recommend the black pudding chicken dish, lightly coated cod, potato gratin and olives. Not had anything I didn't like. Service is excellent too!

Fabulous night from start to finish. Our meals were amazing. Definitely be back and have recommended Malaga Tapas to family and friends. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Food was great quality, really enjoyed everything we ate, some portions were a little small for the price, particularly the croquettas.

food was good, not brilliant but good. When we asked for advice on ordering , we couldn't help but notice that every recommendation was the most expensive choice in each section. we were never told at anything that our table had a time limit when booking and even when we were being served they said order a few tapas and then order more later if we wanted but after our first round of tapas we were told that the table was only for 1.5 hours and there was already people waiting for our table. if we had been told this from the start, we would have ordered more initially. All in all, we felt we were rushed and they were desperate for us to vacate our seats. the restaurant is overly packed for its size, and it has one unisex toilet for what must be around 16 tables. would we be back.....probably not

Was there today with friend for her birthday. Food excellent and waiter so friendly and nice. Will definitely be back.

Good staff and service. The atmosphere was ok, nothing unbalanced about it. I don’t think the portion size or quality matches the price. I’ve had better cheaper and would return elsewhere before coming back. I especially think the tiny jug of sangria for £20 is overpriced. Regretted ordering it but was there for the sangria and tapas experience so gave myself the treat. I’d think twice about going back.

Food was amazing, there was no sauces delivered with either the patatas bravado or the prawns, which was slightly disappointing but the quality and taste more than made up for it!

First visit to Malaga Tapas Clarkston - been many times to Malaga Tapas Polloksields - maybe we just caught team on a busy evening - service was very slow & staff member very slow bringing drinks & bill. Food fantastic & a nice buzz in the restaurant

I just love Tapas. This was reasonably priced and had a wide choice of dishes. Staff were attentative and pleasant. Great for a filling lunchtime meal. I would certainly go back.

Last night was our second visit to Malaga's Clarkston restaurant and the food was outstanding, very elegant dishes with delicate flavours. The restaurant was packed for Father's Day but the kitchen and the waiting staff coped very well. All extremely professional and so helpful. Will be back

Loads of choice! And all tasty. Lamb was so tender and fish cooked just right. There were five of us ordering a variety and we all enjoyed the food and all agreed we would definitely be back! Great service too. It was just a little noisy but that comes with it being a Saturday night and popular place!

We went on a Friday afternoon, and the restaurant was quiet. The food was outstanding, and every dish was excellent. I will definitely be visiting again

Disgusting!! Wrong paella ,ordered bread with oil,got 3bits bread no oil

They substituted part of our order without asking us. The substitute did not meet our allergy requirements. The restaurant put the phone down on me when I phoned to tell them. Very rude.

We popped in here for lunch. Didn't have table booked but there was availability. We had three dishes for sharing which were very good. We've also visited here in the evening with a family group.

Well worth a visit....Popped in 6:45 on a Sunday evening by chance and asked if the could give us a table for two....After they checked their booking list we were in...Orders were taken quickly but took a while to arrive which was not a problem for us,. The food was delicious and hot when it arrived...The staff were mega friendly too...Five tapas and two drinks £44.... Don't mind paying for quality.... Read a couple of reviews where some were not satisfied where they were seated.....It holds about 30 people max and granted a couple of tables will get a bit of a draft with people coming and going especially in the winter....I would suggest a sliding door on the pavement side and this would alleviate that problem..Living in the North of the city we will give the sister restaurant in Bearsden/ Milngavie a try, If it is as good as the Clarkston one, we will not be disappointed.

Arrived on time for our 7:30pm Saturday night booking. Should just have left. The place was mobbed and folks who booked a table for 7:15pm standing against a wall doing the same as us. Waiting. The manager guided us to the pub at the toll which was fabby but that’s another review. We returned at 8:30pm, still no table ready. There obviously a few things wrong with their booking system or they can’t say no to walk-in diners on a busy Saturday night. Thanks to michaelangelos for an excellent late Saturday night treat and excellent service.

We’ve always found both restaurants to be excellent but today left the Clarkston restaurant a little disappointed. Lipstick mark clearly on one of the glasses we were given. Footprint on one of the chairs (at one of the window tables). We were given the chicken paella when we ordered the veg paella and it was far too salty, almost inedible. Positive were friendly staff (as always) and the Gambas Pil Pil & Gambas Gaberdina were lovely. Really hope the negatives were a one off, as we know how hard the family have worked to build successful restaurants.

The most amazing tasting tapas I've ever had hands down!

I didn’t receive the pan fresco (bread) with my order and was charged for item.

over priced, very small portions some of which was very poor quality. Never tried tapas before and this has put us off trying it again.

We are big fans of tapas and were looking forward to trying here for a change, but sadly left a little disappointed. Loved the Spanish black pudding one and the rest were just ok. Prawns were nothing like the ones you usually get...... overcooked and curled up?? Sangria was lovely and our lovely waiter recommended we try the red one.......very moreish! 🙂

Homous like water, pitta burnt and about 5 pieces. All portions awful apart from the beer battered chicken but that was undercooked and stuck together. Lucky the garlic bread was free because I’ve never seen anything like it. Just soggy bread with some garlic spread slapped on.

I've been loads of times and never had a bad meal. The food is always excellent and everything is served hot. Do yourself a favour and order the Pollo Burgos and Sangria. The specials are always very good as well. Shout out to the loaded fries!

Ate in this restaurant last night. We were placed at a table behind the front door. We were promised a move once another table came free which didn’t, happen I spent the evening with my coat on as the door was constantly opening and drafty with it being frosty outside. At one point we were surrounded by other customers and this forced us to cut short our evening. The food was okay, service was slow, this is my second similar experience of this restaurant and I certainly won’t be rushing back.Seemed as if the management had miscalculated the seat availability and had overbooked with a crowd forming around several diners.

All three of the Malaga Tapas restaurants are exceptional facilities with the best Spanish food you can find in the country. Personal favourites are the Gambas Gabardinas, Pescado en Adobo and Presa Iberica. Had everything from birthdays, to casual dinners to dates in here and never been disappointed. Thanks guys!

Food was so cold it was like it had just been taken out a freezer, was inedible, delivery was also very late, all just eat refunded was for the missing dish not the fact we couldn’t eat any of it and had to bin the lot. Won’t be using again.

Food was ordered at 7..05, took restaurant 15 minutes to confirm (which should have been the first warning sign) our ETA was the changed several times from 7.35-7.55 to eventually 8.55-9.15. The status said "drover at restaurant " for over an hour! Food eventually arrived 2 hours after we order. In the mean time I tried to call the restaurant 17 times for an update as to why it was taking so long and got no answer just ringing out! Food then arrived overcooked and cold! Very disappointed!

Busy place with good atmosphere. I would say food was okay, but just okay. The tables are so close together, you are almost on top of the next table. We had 6 or 7 dishes that were okay, but two that were not brilliant. The prawns were very pale and tasteless and the Jamon iberico was the smallest portion I have ever seen. Service was very good and they were very pleasant.

We have been big fans of Malaga Tapas in Pollokshields for a number of years. However, this was the first time we’d been to the Clarkston restaurant. Delighted to say it was every bit as good. The food was fantastic, atmosphere equally as good and it was great to meet Cristobal’s son who is clearly doing a brilliant job! We will be back again soon!

Table booked for 2. Arrived on time. Had to wait standing beside diners for 10 mins. Given table beside door with cold air coming in constantly. Everyone arriving had to stand and wait for their table waiting right beside where people were eating. Terrible set up. Had to go and ask for a drink as we could not be seen by staff as were sitting behind standing customers. Food was lovely though.

Absolutely gem nestling in the heart of Clarkston, the food is good and the portions apt, good selection of wine and beer,not wheelchair friendly. The parking can be tight depending on the time booked, overall definitely worthy of a visit,I've been multiple times to sample the delicious food.

The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour. Unfortunately my mum had to wait significantly longer than my Dad and I to get any of her tapas. I was about to ask when one of her dishes appeared. Eventually her other one did. The waiter was hard to make out and also put the dishes down without saying anything so we worked out for ourselves whose dishes were whose. Quality of food is 5 star but service drags star rating down.

The delivery was quick. But I’m sorry the food was poor. I ordered several things that come with sauce but not one sauce came with it. I just had plain bread on its own….

Very good all round restaurant with plenty of choice and a good selection of wines 🍷 to complement the food .

Superb first visit and will certainly be back
