Mala Indian Brasserie in Barnet

The takeaway food was not freshly cooked. The lamb chops and fried okra were dry and reheated. The dal was liquidy and no taste. The food was ordered via delivoro. No support from them. Both restaurant and delivoro not good places to do business

We were served by two very attentive, friendly and bubbly servers. And, the food was fantastic. What’s not to love?

I ordered Mala, knowing their history when I lived in Aldgate, St Katherine’s dock. Food delicious but portion of chicken tikka main I ordered and paid for came as a mere 4 chunks. I queried there must be a mistake, surely confusing it for the starter; to no avail! If thats the main, then the starter version is 2 chunks. I can’t go back, on principle; this was even debated as the portion size! Really?

We went yesterday for a family celebration. The food was average. The service was too slow considering the restaurant was almost empty. One of the starter tested gone off. 2 veg dish tested very similar even though they were very different.

We ordered food from Mala in Whetstone yesterday. It was ready on time - piping hot and freshly cooked Mala sent one of their waiters with us when we went to collect the food to help set up the buffet (for 40 people) The food was fantastic!! It was like the best traditional home cooked food ever. Biryani, meat curry, chana curry, vegetables, naan with salad and raita. Mala gave us a lot of time and put in a lot of effort for what was not a huge order but they made us feel very special and valued. Thank you so much Mala and all the staff. A big thanks to the head chef. Can’t recommend them enough or thank them enough.

Pictures look nothing like the food, chatt next to aloo ticki was very bad, stale and had gone off (didn’t event remove it off the bill…nice) food was actually really bad ordered two curry’s which tasted exactly the same, Lachha Paratha was burnt on the outside and raw inside. Had to light our own candle at the table. Oh yes and to top it off extremely overpriced.

Every dish was outstanding, the staff are friendly and welcoming. What's not to love?! We have taken many friends here and they all leave in agreement!

We were looking for a suitable restaurant to host my 75th Birthday lunch. My daughter found Mala Indian Brassiere on High Road. Telephoned Mala and spoke to the owner Sonia. From the very start she was very accommodating and we both agreed a date which she respectfully blocked Sunday 7th August 2022. We then put together a menu which as family we agreed upon. Visited Mala’s and met and spoke to Sonia for the first time who is a very pleasant lady. We gave her the hand written menu. She later phoned with a price which was reasonable. All was agreed and time adjusted to 12.30pm. On the day my family and I arrived at Mala’s at 12.15pm. All the tables were set and arranged to our satisfaction. The starters were quickly served with a smile by 3 wonderful waiters who were very pleasant. Score 10/10 for ambience and the way it was presented and the taste was supreme. Main course followed it just kept coming and everyone had a fair share of what they had chosen to eat and seconds was also available. Score 10/10 for presentation, quantity, quality and taste. I was a bit concerned that all was well. Sonia reassured me not to stress and sit down and enjoy the meal which I did. Dessert was the icing on the cake served in small Ramekin dessert pots with three choices. All tasted wonderful. We would with the rest of the family highly recommended Mala Indian Brassiere to Anyone wanting to host a party or lunch at Mala’s irrespective of number of guests.
