I had walked past the restaurant for months before actually going in. So glad I did. Without a doubt the best Thai food I have eaten in the UK. Service was excellent and the food was exactly as it should be. I am now a regular customer and intend to be so for some considerable time in the future.

Only went here after encountering grumpy barman and a closed kitchen in Ye Olde Swan. I’m a sucker for Green Chicken Curry and a glass of rosé and they didn’t disappoint. I was served by a really helpful Uni student which made for a really good evening

I have seen this restaurant on deliveroo multiple times and I decided to give it a shot. I must say that I was quite disappointed. The food was plain and didn't have much taste. In addition to this, our food was lukewarm on arrival. Moreover, It took much longer than the estimated delivery time and there was no response on the phone when I called regarding the whereabouts my order. The portions were small as well. I will not be ordering from this place again.

During lockdown I much prefer ordering for home delivery, and after a particularly bad experience with Deliveroo I ordered from Maisie Thai via Uber Eats. The online ordering experience was easy, and the food arrived a good 10 mins before the originally predicted time. Everything was hot and ready to eat, well packaged, and tasted great. I ordered the mixed starters plus duck pancakes. For main course I had a red beef curry with coconut rice. All very good and exactly what the doctor ordered! I will definitely order from them again!

I just read a review that sounds like mine. Very disappointing. Quantity and quality not worth the price tag by far. Sticky rice that comes as a brick, could not eat it and it was toddler portion for a whopping £3.50. Had better airplane rice! The quarter duck was anaemic. Calamari were bits. Both curry were quite tasty but too fiery. Taste below average and food arrive luke warm.

Maisie is our local restaurant and we return time and time again because the food is delicious and authentic and the service always excellent. Having lived in Thailand for several years I never chose to ate in Thai restaurants in the Uk because I was always disappointed so am delighted to have found Maisie. Everything we have eaten there is good but we particularly like the massaman curry and the Phuket seafood. I always have the sticky rice because it’s exactly as they serve it in Thailand.

Just to say I never write reviews but I'm rather annoyed that this establishment couldnt bother to respond to my email in which I complained about the food we received via ubereats on Saturday evening that I have to warn people that you maybe disappointed in what meagre portions you receive from them as well as the quality. I would say on reflection I had thought the quality and portion size would be equal to other takeaways for the price they charge but sadly I would say this is not the case and expect everything to be on the small side and not value for money at all. A mixed starter of breaded prawn toast, prawn etc at nearly £8 consisted of 1 of each item, 4 in total and small.. Barely enough for 1 let alone 2!The portion of sticky rice at £3.50 was a very small block of overcooked congealed rice in cellophane, almost seemed like it had been microwaved it had to go straight into the bin, I couldn't pull it apart let alone eat any. The Thai mains we ordered were also not that great.. Green beans weren't cooked properly, chicken looked very unappetising for the £13 value. I've never been so unsatisfied with a takeaway and would not recommend.. Should have stuck to what I know! The lack of response to my dissatisfaction also shows me that customer service is lacking... Shame indeed!

Maisie´s has become an old favourite. A great mixture of Thai food in an pub settting in the lovely main street of Thames Ditton. The staff are very welcoming and it always has a relaxed feel to it, with a good layout and warm glowy lighting. The food and drinks are consistently good with a great choice of mains. The only observation would be that we would welcome more fresh salad choices, rather than the fried dishes which make up most of the starter menu. A great place to regularly return to in both winter and summer.

This is the first time in a while that we’ve got a takeaway from here and we’d forgotten how good it was. My wife had the green chicken curry and I had the prawn gaeng kari both of which were lovely. The only reason i didn’t give it 5 star is because it uses what looks like non recyclable plastic containers plus served us a plastic bag to carry away. They should review this approach.

Having informed a friend over from Chile that this was the best Thai food around, we were disappointed to find them closed Tuesday lunchtime, but managed to get there on Wednesday. This is a family run restaurant, and they have difficulty in getting staff, so service can be a bit slow when they are busy. However, this is more than offset by the food, which is freshly cooked and simply delicious! We were given complimentary prawn crackers and sweet chilli dip, and had starter of the spring rolls, also with a chilli dip; they were crispy and hot. Our main course was the Gang Kari prawns in yellow coconut curry sauce with potatoes and veg, and sticky rice: at least 6 plump prawns in a moreish beautiful sauce. We were too full for a dessert, but would have had the pancakes (one with banana, the other with coconut) which I know are fantastic from previous visits. Bill came to £48 including drinks but excluding gratuity. This is a delightful restaurant, lovingly converted from the Old Crown Inn, and should be at the top of everyone's list to attend, not just to take-away food.

I love coming to Maisie's and I have told many people about how delicious it is here! The food is full of flavour and always presented beautifully. It does get quite busy so booking ahead is advisable. They offer a great lunch menu too! The main menu is full of choice however the only comment I have is that it needs to be a little clearer on price. I asked for a mixed Pad Thai (delicious) and the menu does not state that it will cost extra, like most restaurants, and when I ordered the waiter did not tell me that it would come to extra. I know it is pretty standard to cost extra, however I do think that it should clearly say this on the menu so you know exactly what your going to pay.

I had booked for two on Friday night, but it was only about half full. The staff are lovely, but can be a bit slow. However, the food is amazing -- freshly cooked, and a good mixed menu which provides exactly what it says -- you can change ingredients if required, eg, I do not like peppers. We did not have starters, but I had the Gang Kari prawns in yellow coconut curry, simply delicious and plentiful -- 4 king prawns; my partner had green curry beef, also plentiful, delicious and tender beef. We both had a dessert, the home-made pancakes -- one banana, one coconut, both excellent. Total bill, including 2 glasses wine and green tea, was £53.

The only reason we visited this restaurant was because it was, as it happens unreliably, recommended to us by my wife's hairdresser. The starters to our meal were very tasty enough, however the remainder of our mail was very average and totally spoilt by a selfish party of 8 bringing a 14 month, screaming child with them that refused to keep quiet unless it was being given 100% attention. I have children and when they were both of this age would: a) never let them behave in this way; and b) never dream of taking them out to dinner at 8.30 pm for the very reason I am complaining! What's wrong with child friendly eateries or getting a babysitter which is what we used to do? I had the special on the board that was lamb shank which was "ok" and my wife had the Pad Thai which was very dry and ordinary. When the manageress asked whether we enjoyed our meal on payment of the bill, which incidentally we had to take to the bar ourselves to pay because the service was so slow, I told her why we were leaving and that we did not enjoy our meal. She apologised profusely but then followed up this apology by saying that she didn't know they were bringing a baby. Then why not state in the customer policy whether children below a certain age are not permitted after a certain time. This does appear to be a problem after reading other reviews of this establishment. It completely spoilt our evening and didn't bother to stay for puddings or brandy. The restaurant's loss, not ours. Needless to say we shall not be returning. There are plenty of other good Thai restaurants in our area.

We did mention it and they gave us a different rice as mine was a solid lump which i am sure is not what sticky rice should be like. Other than that excellent.

We arrive unbooked at 3.45pm on Sunday, and they were still serving. Only two tables still full at that time, so the service was excellent. The food was fantastic -- tasty and good helpings. Cost £62 including three courses, wine and tip.

We are regular visitors to Thailand and this restaurant is a must, nicely decorated with two seating areas , the main restaurant not too large, which is quite bustling on a Friday and Saturday night and the slightly more romantic side with its lovely chandelier , here there is a nice table for four or three tables of two, and a sofa and chairs . The food is Devine and Maisie and her husband have done a fabulous job. The Green Curry very authentic with baby aubergines and full of flavour, as is the Penang Curry and all washed down with a Thai beer .... You can feel the sand and the heat beneath your feet ......Bliss, of course they also do a very good Pad Thai . We love the Thai fish cakes and the chicken satay that good old Thai staple ! If you want a bit of heat ask for pic nam pla ( Thai chilli's in fish sauce ) delicious but fiery !! There are lots of other choices , too many to mention , it's simply a very nice menu. The staff are all extremely pleasant and welcoming. If you are in the area then Maisie's is defiantly worth a visit! Thames Ditton is a wonderful friendly village, a pre dinner drink in the Red lion before dinner and then onto Maisie's makes for a very pleasant evening. The restaurant has made a welcome addition to this fabulous village . Try it, you might just like it!

I feel so lucky that this is my nearest Thai! Exquisite every time. Quality is just as good if you're eating in or taking out. I dine here as often as I can which probably works out as once a month but have been known to eat here three times in a week! Lovely service, great atmosphere. If I really HAD to say a neg, I would say maybe some Thai music would add to the atmosphere rather than English, and the tables are a teeny bit too close together but then they are always so booked up I'm not really surprised they want to get as many patrons in as they can to keep us all happy! Literally ever time I have dined here I have seen people rock up to chance it and be turned away. Nearly happened to me once but we waited an hour to be seated and in the end they let us sit in the waiting area if we only ordered starters!

A local restaurant for us and we have always had a good meal here. A great varied menu with good choice while all tasting very fresh. Not tried a takeaway yet.

Very understated restaurant which is most welcome in Thames Ditton.Eating in is much better experience than takeaway fare.

Dined here on New Year's Eve at ate off the set menu. Starter was a delicious Thai sharing dish. I particularly enjoyed the ribs and plum sauce. Main courses were all delicious too; the baked fish and seafood curry were particular favourites. Dessert was slightly odd with a green cold pancake-like item but there was ice cream and fruit however which went down a treat. Staff were in good spirits and really made an effort with customers. An enjoyable experience.

Friday evening, 11th December, we were meeting friends for dinner in Thames Ditton , we arranged to meet at the George and Dragon (reviewed separately) for a pre-dinner drink. We turned up at the restaurant at 8.30, the time of our reservation, it is advisable to book a table especially at weekends. This was formerly a public house but has been tastefully renovated into a tastefully decorated restaurant with simple but effective decor. We were shown to our table and given the food and drinks menus. We incorrectly assumed that the lady, who took our orders, was Maise, it was in fact her Mum, who was really helpful explaining the dishes and was very chatty and made the evening special for us.We ordered various curries with steamed rice, we also had a weeping tiger steak to share, it was all delicious and our plates were cleared. We had a couple of beers each. The total cost of the meal for the 4 of us was £85 before tip, it really was worth it. We will certainly be back.

We had been meaning to visit Maisie for some time, and as a result of trying their excellent satay at the Thames Ditton Christmas fare, we got round to treating ourselves to a meal there. Standard Thai dishes mixed with some variations. We ordered an excellent pad thai, red curry and the best of all, thai pork ribs, which were both sweet and spicy. These dishes were incredibly good examples of typical thai cooking, fresh and flavoursome. As others have suggested, service is fantastic with staff very attentive but not wanting to interfere. We were made to feel as though it was there pleasure to serve us and to ensure we were having a good time. The surroundings are very pleasant, even though it is such a shame to see old pubs disappearing. Nice comfortable decor though. Prices were reasonable for the area, and we left feeling pretty good about life and pleased we gave Maisie a try. We will be back again for sure.

The food here is excellent. Fresh, delicious Thai food and not ridiculously priced. You don’t get the post dinner downer after eating it like you can with a stodgy Chinese.

If you are vegetarian like I am don’t bother going here! They label dishes on the menu as Vegetarian. I proceeded to order a starter and a main only to be told they use shrimp paste in the sauce for one and that it was best not to have the starter because it would be “contaminated” (in the words of the waitress) by oil containing fish based ingredients. That just inspired little confidence that any of the dishes were actually vegetarian. They stir fried some veg for me in ginger and soy - I could have made that at home. Hugely disappointed and made that clear to them.
