We had a delicious festive baguette with side salad sat out in the courtyard to enjoy the atmosphere. Good selection of light lunches. Part of the Cromford Mills.

Ate outside on the well spaced tables, very clean and good level of service. Minimal delay from ordering to eating. Tasty food and well chilled drinks.

Relaxed friendly little cafe in the courtyard at Arkwright Mill, which I chanced upon today, so decided to try, tempted by homemade soup and freshly made cheese scone. There was a choice of two vegetarian homemade soups, and the mushroom and tarragon soup I had, was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, so I would recommend the cafe highly.

Nice little cafe but in all fairness it is a restaurant as serves full breakfasts, snacks and main meals. I just had a drink and a scone (cheese) - was clearly homemade and very filling :)

A lovely, simple restaurant, light snacky food, lots of homemade goodies and a nice atmosphere. Perhaps one or two of the tables are too Large for the room, bit this is to forget that this place, two and a half centuries ago,was the first industrial cotton factory, all facts elaborated on by a couple o great guides. I got the impression this is early days for the museum, iit will only get better. There is a charm about the whole place you'll find captivating,Crpmford has another mill,a fantastic, quaint bookshop among other attractions, and deserves to become an important destination to anyone with a social and industrial history leaning-and the coffee is great, thank you! Recommended!

This is inside the mill museum area. The prices are very good, we had a quiche which came on a big plate and very tasty £6.95. There was cakes which were gluten free and vegan, with very reasonable prices around £1.90. Staff great and friendly too

We always have a great time here as the selection for such a small place is most impressive - not just tea and cake (although that's all very tasty) they also do hot lunches, breakfast etc. The food is good quality, generous portions and home made. The café itself is quite small, but in the nice weather there is a good outside space with water for dogs. The rest of the shops are worth a look, all in all a nice place. Only negative is having to pay for parking...Oh and the toilets are a bit grim, but they are working on that x

We visited here as the café by the canal doesn't open until 10am and this restaurant services bacon and egg baps! We have visited a few times this year and will continue to do so. Your reviewer had a bacon and egg bap and companion had a toasted tea cake with a pot of tea for two. Food is always good here, and well recommended, there are some nice pictures for sale on the wall.

You read about scones like these. Cheese scones, sultana scones, date and walnut scones. Plus numerous other cakes, toasted tea cakes and cooked breakfasts. Heaven. The scones are intimidatingly large and weighty - but don't let that put you off. They are surprisingly light to eat - although you won't need to eat again for some time. Ah - and the tea, coffee and service were good as well, as was the location - right in the middle of Arkwright's mill.

A great tea and scone venue (the scones are intimidatingly large!). The location is part of the original Arkwright Mill, now being restored. Food and history in one convenient location :)

Cottage pie and roasted vegetables. Bottom- mostly watery over herbed gravy and a small amount of meat. Top- overcooked watery, tasteless potato mash. On a blind tasting I wouldn't have identified it as cottage pie. I have tasted much better £1 cottage pies from the fridge of a student. The interesting part was how they managed to get the potato to stay on the top and it didn't turn to soup. At £7 it was a tourist rip off. I sat with my food in front if me and no-one came to find out what I thought. Several times the waitresses walked by glancing at my plate but said and did nothing. We waited for the plates to be cleared so we could say we were unhappy and they didnt come to clear the table.

I think I may have reviewed this place before, but. worth mentioning it again! Called on a cold, icy day, just after Christmas. A warm welcome and good warming food to match. A choice of freshly prepared... and I do mean freshly...food to suit all purses and tastes. A good choice of specials, baguettes, salads and hot meals. We chose the vegetable soup with a home baked cheese scone. Soup as ever, so tasty and filling and the scone..enormous, melt in the mouth gorgeous. A really filling meal. I can recommend the soups and the sandwiches too. the cakes are all home baked and absolutely delicious. We have eaten here many times and the staff have always, always, been courteous, friendly and efficient. They work hard to deliver great tasting food that stands out above the mundane pre made, pre packed rubbish in so many eating houses. Lots to see on site too and well worth a visit!

It’s always a pleasure to revisit this quirky cafe. it has had a make-over since we last came, and an added bonus of new loyalty cards on the drinks ~ (with a better deal than other cafes ,in that only 8 drinks are needed before a free one is offered!) The cakes are amazing, too many to choose (one reason for returning, I guess.) The latest Christmas treats are the mincemeat franzipan tarts~ delicious. It’s good to see there are drinking bowls for the many dogs who visit~ maybe the next step forward would be to let the owners AND dogs inside during the cold winter months???? Many more cafes are now doing this, which is Great for all the walkers/dog owners outside shivering. There is a common misunderstanding which many cafe owners trot out to customers that dogs are not allowed inside cafes, but this is not so~ only in the food preparation areas ~(eg, the kitchens!) Keep up the good work on the cakes front!

While in Cromford on business we ate here several times. There is a really good selection of rolls and baguettes made to order - choices for vegetarians and of bread type (including gluten free which was irrelevant to us but could be important to others). The jacket potatoes were oven baked which rare these days. Both rolls and potatoes came with a lovely side salad. The other warm dishes - quiches, cheese and potato pies, chilli, etc.- were literally home-made. The cakes were also home made and enough to make anyone's mouth water.

Hardly memorable......just your average cafe selling overpriced bits of cake, and drinks.Poorly trained staff who are obviously work shy.A cheerful greeting would have made all the difference.

I go here with my 4 yr old daughter for dinner. I always enjoy whatever I have. The cafe has a wide choice of home made dishes that are beautifully made. My little girl is always happy with her lunch and the selection of homemade cakes they have to offer. We love visiting the shops in the court yard. It's a lovely little stop off on your day out.
