Absolutely spotless and beautiful place and great freshly made food couldn't fault it

Food is disgusting just so much salt, stone cold low quality ingredients i have always used this place but never again nothing tastes like it should , please dont waste your money, £50 and its gone in the bin, and a 2 hour delivery time the prawn balti made me want to be sick.... I don't know if this was done on purpose as I called asking how long the delivery would be after 90 mins NEVER AGAIN

Ordered food online came within the hour not good food was freezing cold and tasteless not the normal standard we have had in.the past from restaurant or delivery tried to call several times could not get through to speak to anyone to raise my concern. Food went In bin £23

lovely food. delivery was ridiculous as just eat put my order as complete and not a new order so when I called the restaurant they had no clue about the order till they checked the justeat machine. but was quick after they got my order

Waste of money, worst food ever. They call it indian cuisine, it is not even an inch close to Indian food. We can make 1000 times better Indian food at our home then they do.

I went with family last night for a joint 40th and 80th birthday. We had pre-booked and paid a £80 deposit. The food was OK, but nothing like the quality it used to be. It came to paying and this is when the night was ruined. We wanted to pay for our meals in couples/family groups and they wouldn't let us. The bill which was over £300 had to be paid in one and they didn't give us any other option. At the same time, we were repeatedly told they were closing. Shocking service and treatment by the waiter.

Have been going to Maharajah on Holderness Road Hull for many years in fact since they opened. The food is consistently perfect the service exceptional. The hospitality is always Friendly and genuine. I would recommend most sincerely, you will not be disappointed. Food is a personal choice but there are many to choose from

Tried based on the reviews but utterly disappointed with the taste of the food. They have changed the dishes to full extent that they are barely close to original taste. Biryani had lentil (daal channa) in it which I have seen for the first time in my life. Strongly not recommended. The staff however was great and you can park in the adjacent street as well

All food was cold unfortunately, onion bhaji’s was well over cooked too.

We've been to this restaurant for a meal a couple of times so we thought we would get a takeaway since we enjoyed the meal so much, unfortunately our takeaway wasn't as nice, meat was tough our sauce was bland, the chips were dry and naan bread was over cooked. The only thing what was spot on this time was the pickle tray. I don't know if the food is cooked to a cheaper standard on takeaways but our food tasted like it was from another restaurant, we binned most of it.

Didn’t actually visit but my Dad ordered food for both of us on Saturday night just gone and went to collect it. Not sure what Dad had but I had the beef dupiaza and fried garlic rice with the big poppadums you get from here. It was so so lovely that I eat the entire thing. The chunks of beef are nice big pieces and what was good also was the portion size it wasn’t too over the top big it was just a good size portion of dupiaza and rice. Never ever had problems with Maharajah the food has always been spot on and I shall certainly be back wether that be in house or via takeaway. Cheers to the guys and girls at Maharajah absolutely spot on food.

So walked in and greeted warmly offered a choice of tables followed by excellant service with really hot tasty food. Price was excellant at £53 for 2 people with starters 2 mains and 2 beers. Restaurant was clean and pleasant in the seating area. Staff where pleasant and always on hand for our needs. Would I go back?Without a doubt they EARNED more patronage.

Really, really felt unwelcome when I walked in to the rest not welcoming Said I was upsetting people in the restaurant. Although I said it is like the tables wanky. I got a tissue to sort it out, he said. Are you hoping that would have a problem tonight? So I felt disgusted really.When I matched a quiet person really. Ordered prawn purre starter Which was delicious, tasty and refreshing, likely spice with nice flavours. Special amount of squeezed lime over the top of the prawns delicious. Ordered a lamb curry next with nicely spiced.wating staff were fantastic the orner were so rude its destroyed my all expectations so thanks for your time but really ashamed ppl can be like that just on Appearance I wouldn't mind I've not been in this restaurant for about 15 years. You know, first time in a long time. Put this it will be my last time after tonight thanks £34 not cheep for felling until we come x

Amazing food we have been customers for over 20 years the chips are the best bar none of any Indian restaurant the curry is spot on everytime

Only issue was I paid for 4 poppadums, only got 2 which were smashed to bits

My Auntie and I went for a meal last night for her birthday, we had the Sunday to Thursday menu. We had popperdoms and dips, starters and main course. All the food was really nice and good quality and the service was excellent they couldn't do enough for us. Friendly staff great food and a lovely restaurant. We would definitely recommend and we definitely will be back.

Food arrived in restaurant carrier bag and also a lidl bag . The order had clearly been dropped and put into aldi bag from delivery driver, who knows what been in the aldi bag , as sauce from the mains were leaked all over everything, all went in the bin , very unhappy about thus , it ruined our new years eve night

The food from Maharajah is top quality and extremely tasty. We just wish they'd start paying attention to delivery times. Yesterday's delivery arrived 2 hours early (ate it luke-warm a good while later as we weren't hungry yet), the previous order was an hour early, and a few months ago a pre-booked order arrived a day (!) early. We're regulars but getting concerned about re-ordering as no-one takes any notice of delivery times and we don't want to end up with cold food delivered early and left on our doorstep before we get home.

Very disappointing and really late delivery for a Monday night. Ordered the weeknight deal. The order was late and took 2 hours for just a small order, starter was cold and inedible. The paneer with overcooked and cold. The curry was nice but the chips were cold and dry.

Ordered food and was given a time slot but asked if available to be delivered as soon as possible.... they totally exceeded my expectations... food was absolutely amazing and super piping hot

I'm on a trip home from Australia and have fond memories of 35 years ago and had to come back to this restaurant last night with husband and parents. The food was fabulous and the service great - we really enjoyed it and hope to come back before we go back to Australia.

After I had already paid I saw that the delivery time was between 2 and a half to 3 hrs! I rung up and asked if I could collect instead which they said yes but still hour and half wait.I collected it and was cold! Non of us eat it as was off putting that was that cold, obviously I could have picked it up earlier as had been just sat from the food temp.not happy

Absolutely amazing food & always a tasty treat! Just wish they would take more notice of delivery times - we once had food ordered for the next day arrive on the same night. Yesterday's delivery was 45 minutes early and we were lucky to have got home sooner than anticipated.

Yes we were a large party but maybe they should have asked us to pre order!! Chaotic! I ordered a lamb passanda to be given a tikka passanda, which is not as mild as I like. It was tasty but too spicy for me. I didn’t complain as I had already been sat for 2 hours while they brought everyone’s appetisers and starters out. They also had already had 2 meals sent back as they were not what had been ordered. First and last visit.

Excellent choice as we have a curry once a month in Hull Worth a trip although please note they close at 21:30 during the week Staff vey attentive and the starters mains were fantastic - can recommend Off street parking and ranges for all dietary requirements

if i could give this a one star rating i would the rice tasted like water, the chips whwre hardly chewable and rock hard, the chicken didn’t taste like chicken along with the sauce and the chicken was pink!!! not happy considering i payed £40 for it

Made a reservation at 4.50pm for my husband and myself for 9pm, got an email just after saying table was booked for 9pm that night, then at 7.15pm got another email saying the booking had been cancelled!! After ringing up i was told booking was cancelled because they shut at 10pm, so if thats the case why accept our booking in the first place, will never go there again, terrible customer service, they did actually do us a favour as we went to erasian further up holderness road who was happy to take our booking and had a beautiful 3 course meal. Maharaja you have lost our custom

Great food but had to wait 2 hours for delivery. No warning of this until you pay and get an expected delivery time. Second time in succession this has happened now.

The food here was full of flavour, nice bit of heat to the madras. Me and my mate got here with 40 mins until closing time and the staff still were happy to serve us and the food still came out fresh and hot. Only little criticism could have more choice of lager on draught, the atmosphere was only about 6 people in but i put that down to it being almost closing time. Can't wait to come back again

3rd time me and the mrs have dined here . nothing but excellence from service to food . would higly recommend a visit . 1st class

Been in here a few times now and the food never disappoints, tonight we had the deal 3 courses for 16.95pp this included pickle tray and poppadoms, a starter, we chose chicken tikka chatt puri, the taste was amazing (and filling) husband had beef madras for main, the beef was big chunks and melt in the mouth, I had chicken tikka garlic karai, slightly spicy and full of flavour, we both got a rice dish, chilli rice and garlic fried rice, also a garlic naan (enough for 2 people) was busy tonight but the staff were very quick to take your order, the food came out pretty quick and all steaming hot.

Exceptional in every aspect. I genuinely wish I could dine here more often! Every dish on the table looked incredibly appealing. I decided to try the korai, a dish I rarely come across. Ordering it brought back some memories for me. Back when I was younger, my family occasionally visited Maharajah. My dad always raved about their korai, claiming it was the best curry dish he had ever tasted. I can't argue with that sentiment! The service was great, and the staff was very friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. They even took a few minutes to chat with us and get to know us better. During my visit, I noticed a regular customer coming in to collect their order. It was evident that the staff knew them by name, which showcased a nice customer-business relationship. The only minor issue I encountered was the absence of hot towels after the meal. It would have been a nice touch to have something to clean the naan bread residue off my hands.

I will never use this place. Tried to make a delivery order last night on the telephone for my birthday. I had some questions about gluten free dishes for my wife. The first person I spoke to had no idea about gluten free. The second person initially tried to help and then became irritated and said brusquely 'I can't take your order it is too complicated with Indian food!'. He then, very rudely, put the phone down on me before I could even give him my own choices, which were not gluten free. I've never experienced such dreadful customer service as this in my life!

I will never be using this restaurant! I rang up to make an order for a delivery for my birthday. I had some questions about the menu, as my wife is gluten free. The person answering the telephone had no idea at all, so they passed me to someone else. I began asking about different dishes. After asking a few questions this person then got irritated and said 'I can't take your order' 'it's too complicated with Indian foods and, before I could even give them my own order (I'm not gluten free), they hung up on me abruptly! So rude. I have never experienced this with any restaurant in my lifeevrr. The restaurant may get good reviews, but for customer service NIL POINTS!

Have just walked out of Maharajah and oh my goodness I just could not wait to leave my review! Took my partner and family for Fathers Day and safe to say we enjoyed every last bit of our meals! The atmosphere is elegant amd soothing, with Exquisite decor and soft lighting and background music to accompany the restaurant ✨️ We were greeted with smiles and seated promptly with menus at the ready and we were delighted at the choices of food, and as everyone of them came out we definitely wasn't disappointed! Portions were definitely plentiful 😋😋 We are definitely looking forward to our next visits to your restaurant very soon! Thank you for a fantastic service and the very best compliments to the chef!! As a suggestion for a variety of drinks, to serve cocktails and mocktails 🍹

Nice surroundings, good choice of meals very friendly staff. Their curries are served from low spices to very hot I chose the vindaloo it was perfection very tasty, where my partner enjoyed the Korma. Cobra on tap what more can you ask for We will be back.

Used to be the best Indian in Hull by far. Certainly not now. Food overcooked, ingredients missing and measly portions to save some costs I assume, whilst putting prices up. Used here for years but I'm afraid we won't be anymore

Just got my delivery order of chicken madras ,mushroom curry rice n chips .Well it was the worst I've ever eaten it practically all went in bin the madras was like orange water vile chicken never again

When it arrived, it was the wrong order, they then sent my original order for the poppadoms to be missing, and the whole lot to be cold and chips like scraps. Used to be so nice from here too but it's gone right down hill. Delivery bloke was a misery too.

I went to this restaurant on bank holiday Monday in the evening as staying in hull for a few days, food was amazing, I was with my mrs and 2 11 year old boys, nothing was to much trouble for the waiter/manager/owner, very friendly and informative. Food was excellent with so much flavour, would highly recommend and if ever in the north again would definitely re visit Thank you

Had to wait 2 hours & 10 minutes! Chips were cold, everything was soggy, feel disappointed, it will be awhile before we order again from here!!! The reason apparently was because there was a rugby match, there is more than one road that could of been used.

Thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway curry! It arrived early but it didn't matter. Quality food, very tasty and very much enjoyed!

Went for a family meal with a table booked for 12 ( plus baby chair) at 5.30 on a Saturday - half of us arrived early and were seated promptly, given menus to get us started and asked if we had any questions to start with. As we were all ordering to pay separately it did take a little longer, but literally seconds and they got it spot on at the end too! Cobra on draught but no soda water on draught, which In an age of non drinkers, made things a little more expensive Food was amazing! I had a chickpea starter and a Dopiaza main with sides of rice and naan - they were BIG portions! Beautifully flavoured, and not over hot-spiced! Cost was very much on par with most high-street places. The small warm cosy atmosphere, the great service, the excellent food will actually take me there again, even though its a bit of a hike from home.

We went to the restaurant for food and it was incredible, my new favourite Indian. The place is gorgeous, the staff were delightful and the food was so damn tasty, everything looked hand prepared including the pickle starter. Super good price of £15 for starter,main and side, perfect portion sizes although I was very full by the end, really flavorful and hot food, it all came out the kitchen fairly quickly too, I don't think we had to wait over ten minutes in between courses, can't wait to visit again <3

Just in restaurants and I order chicken tikka masala is wonderful taste and service is wonderful too. We always like India food this is best one

Waited over a hour and a half and when it came it had some missing also had some kind of bhaji that you couldn't even cut through all of the different curry's all tastes the same the chips seemed like last week's it was all just so bad. Never order from here again we went on 6he good reviews

Got the order wrong to the displeasure of the Mrs... Some of the order was at the standard of our previous visit such as the Mixed meat Naag and lamb tikka but the accompanying rice, poppadoms and raita were quite poor for this place.. Sorry but for the money average at best

Never order from this place. My partner currently has severe food poisoning and is throwing up blood as well when he’s sick. The meat still has blood running it and wasn’t cooked properly. There was also white hair in the food as well.

We are both vegan and had an extremely good meal at a very reasonable price. There was a full vegan menu with so many options. Service was friendly and efficient, cleanliness very good and a nice atmosphere. We will definitely return.

This used to be a reliable place for great indian food in east Hull. However the last 2 times have been appalling the lamb tikka rice was nothing more than pilau multi color rice and the spicy poppadom was uneatable due to been raw !! Tandoori mixed grill has shrank massively over the last 10 years despite price going up but quarantine and quantity has gone down . Despite the fact I've recommended this place for years I won't be using them anymore

This is the 3rd delivery we have had from Maharajah and we have to say it has been spot on every time. They have informed us of delivery time and food has always been delivered within allotted time. Drivers have all been polite and helpful. Food has been fantastic, hot and delicious. We have sat in once for a meal and we will be sitting in again. This is our favourite Indian in Hull. I do have one question for the owners though, every time we order, we receive points. What are the points for and how do we redeem them? We have 748 points. Thanks for the great food and service

Quite simply the best Indian in Hull. If it was in a different area it would be full every night. Food excellent, staff friendly. Prices reasonable. It is perfect.
