Taste of Maharaja in Ormond Beach is a diamond in the rough. It's a nice and pleasant restaurant with very good food. The menu is quite extensive. There were 2 couples in our group,. We got two appetizers and 4 entrees. Tne samosa chat was very good. I got the Madras Chicken, Indian hot and it was excellent with a thick and spicy gravy and both white & dark meat chicken. My wife got the Kerala chicken which had a sauce with a strong flavor of tumeric. The other two entrees were chicken korma and lamb vindaloo. We all had tastes of all the entrees and they were all very good. Our waitress Indira was absolutely wonderful as we're all the other service team members. It is quite good value as the portions are quite large.

I phoned the night before we dined to be told that they were catering for a 60th birthday party but they didn’t want to let us down so said they would open at 8pm just for us! We received a very warm welcome. I don’t know if there is more seating upstairs but we sat in a room with 3 tables and wasn’t sure what to expect. We needn’t have worried as my husband and I had slightly different starters and we both agreed it was the best we’d ever eaten in an Indian restaurant. My son was more than happy with his starter too. We all had different curries with rice and the owner gave us chapathi. We enjoyed delicious lassi’s too. The quality and taste of the food was excellent. We had fantastic service from the owner and his friendly son and would return in a heartbeat.

Absolutely rubbish. I ordered a curry and a Keema naan. The curry was a few lumps of meat in sauce. But usually the Keenan naan usually saves the day. It was crap. I don't recommend this place at all. Shame really because south town needs some good Indian food.

We have been wanting to go to Maharaja for a while, and finally it happened. It was a wow ! The South Indian food is just amazing in taste and very authentic. Whether it was Idli or Vada or Uthappam or Dosa … all were superb and finger licking. Will I go there again .,. Definitely YES I think this is the best in Leamington for South Indian … and maybe even in the Midlands

Booked the Maharaja for a group get together and we were treated to a wonderful buffet of freshly prepared food at a very reasonable price per head. The staff are lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend this little gem!

This place is all about the taste. Don't expect frills but anticipate unbelievably well spiced, finger licking good, genuine Indian food, served in a simple setting with a smile. Further, the dishes are not drowned in excess oil like many high street restaurants. Great value for money

Uma Provided a wonderful 4 course meal for all 50 of my guests at my engagement party. The food was exceptional and service impeccable. My guests have been raving about the food ever since. The party was a great success and it would not have been possible without the excellent service provided by Uma and his team. Thank you for making our party so special!

I was very lucky to have been introduced to Uma when planning for a special birthday in my garden for 70 guests. I had been to a boat launch party in Wales where the owner had Indian BBQ food and was searching for someone local to do the same for me. I sampled the food before the party when I visited his restaurant in Leamington with my son which was delicious. However, I could not have been more delighted when Uma erected his Indian kitchen in my garden. The food was absolutely sensational and my guests were queuing up for second helpings. Uma really knows how to cook and look after people. Uma and his team went beyond my expectations. Thank you so much - can't wait to do it again.

It’s been almost 10 years since me,my family and friends have been eating Uma’s Authentic delicacies. Uma has patronised few restaurants in last decade and Coventry is extremely lucky to have someone of his calibre. Glad he is back in cooking scene after few months break. We have already been to maharajah 4 times in last 2 weeks. Authentic is the word when you taste maharajah dishes. Everything is fresh and prepared from scratch. Every curry is authentic and you can taste pure magic when you taste them. If you want to try 100% Indian food cooked by a chef with worth 30 years experience , then this is it. If you get chance then ask Uma to show you his spices selection and you will be amazed to see such wide selection which is at least 3 times more than any regular curry house and very fresh . For someone like me ,who have frequented many restaurants in curry mile- Manchester , east London - ethnic stretch, Leicester - belgrave road and Birmingham - curry houses, Uma’s food stand out for its superiority and authenticity . Highly recommended guys and gals. Eat authentic, eat fresh and stay well.

Visited this evening with my husband and his friend. Uma is a wonderful chef... All his food was so tasty (better than most Indian restaurants in Leamington!) and came out very quickly and hot. Really glad we came across this place.. Will be using this as our regular takeaway from now on!! Thank you Uma!

Bit of history... I have been following Chef Uma for a long time, ever since he ran the once excellent Indian Empress on Binley Rd, Coventry several years ago (still open under the same name, but sadly not the same food). Uma's food is the best I have ever tasted. Forget the usual bland, homogenous, generic "Indian" food you get at all the other restaurants and takeaways in the area - this stuff is the real deal. Each main dish has its own distinct taste, so it is impossible to pick one favourite. I'm vegetarian so always have paneer with whichever sauce I choose, but every dish is available with chicken, lamb, fish, paneer or vegetables. You may not recognise the names of all of the dishes, but you will soon learn to love them all. Then there are the South Indian snacks: Masala Dosa, Vadai, Idli, etc. all served with sambar, coconut chutney and tomato chutney ... oh my mouth is watering. All the food is cooked to order from fresh ingredients in an open kitchen, so it can be tailored to meet your individual needs. Want it more spicy? Less spicy? Have food allergies? Not sure which sauce to have with your chosen meat? Just ask Uma and he will help. Coventry's loss is Leamington's gain. I now travel to your town every Friday night to get my food, but it is worth it. Strongly recommended.

If you like a lot of bones with your food then this is the place for you!! Never in my life would I go to this place it's shockingly bad, authentic Indian no not in the slightest just someone pretending to offer something different but when you get home and separate all the bits of meat off the bones you will be left with nothing at all. Bland and I warn you all its farcical this place. It will not last long as people are too smart for this kind of shonky set up in leamington! Shame as I just moved here not the best start to eating out so far.

Ordered chicken tikka biryani and tandoori mixed starter and it was pathetic overall. Especially, biryani was third class. Sad to say but this was one of the worst biryani I ever tasted. This can’t be the place if you really want to taste the real Indian food
