We didn’t visit but had a takeaway delivered, a very rare thing where we live. It arrived 15 mins before it was due, was piping hot and fabulously tasty, thank you for such prompt and friendly service, we will definitely be ordering again!

Went with my friends for a long awaited Indian recently. Food was full of flavour not to mention the excellent service. A family friendly restaurant with great atmosphere. Highly recommend with the festive season approaching. (Served by Raju)

It was my first time coming to Maharaj and it did not disappoint. The service was really good and the waiters were very respectful. The food came out really quickly and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was dimly light which created a really nice atmosphere. The food was 10/10 and would definitely go again!!!!!

This is an India. Restaurant and takeaway which we have used in the past. They’ve not been brilliant in the past but they are the nearest restaurant/takeaway to us. We placed the order via their app and delivery time of 20:15 was quoted. That came and went and around 20:50 I phoned to be told they were leaving the restaurant - the food finally arrived at 21:30 - took 40 minutes for a 5 minute journey. Really poor. And the food? They were both terrible - no flavour at all - both meals were bland and very disappointing. They do charge a premium and it certainly wasn’t value for money. I had a paratha which was swimming in grease and was inedible. I don’t think we will be returning. I would sooner drive to Gainsborough and collect myself from an alternative restaurant/takeaway.

Ordered a delivery on their website. The food came piping hot and portion sizes were plentiful. The onion bhajis came crispy and their recommended chicken tawa special was very flavourful. Great take-away with lots of options and would use again.

What a discovery. Have driven past this place hundreds of times and never called in until a couple of weeks ago; what have I been missing?!? The food was excellent, full of flavour and perfectly cooked, the staff were friendly without being obtrusive and very efficient. The food was well priced and I really couldn't fault the experience. I have subsequently returned and enjoyed a similarly excellent meal. We will be back again. I gather that the owners have a similar outlet in another of the district's villages, so it seems their business model is to occupy failed village pubs. What a great idea. The pub where I live (Collingham) has been on its knees for a few years and the village is crying out for an Indian restaurant; I live in hope!

Terrible. Waited 2.5 hours for delivery. They said they had left the shop and we still waited 30 min. It’s a 4 min journey. Will never use again. Worse korma I’ve ever had.

Good location and though busy there was enough parking. Drinks were warm not cold. Place looked good and good atmosphere but the food lacked a punch and depth of flavour. When you ask for a peshwari naan please make it one. The filling was so thin it was v close to a plain naan. This place has more focused on looks than the food and at £70 quid for 4 poppadoms 2 mains 2 drinks it's not cheap! Value wise its shocking food is pretty but below average

To say the food here is excellent is an understatement. The chefs take serious pride in what they’re doing, it’s phenomenal. The front of house lads do a great job too.

Hours are incorrectly advertised on their website and Google. They open at 5.30pm not 5pm. Waited over 2 hours for takeaway delivery. Food was good but the service was unreliable and poorly advertised. Won’t be using again.

Absolutely shocking!!! 3.5hrs plus for a takeaway!! Disgraceful!! They say it’s foggy so driver is driving at 20 miles an hour??? It’s as clear as anything where we are, bloody ridiculous! Would not recommend at all!!!

Have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Had takeout to support them during covid. Have had some lovely meals staff have always looked after us . Last night was a different matter. We was given popadoms and pickles but after waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes and no food arriving my husband asked if our food was cooking. Unfortunately it wasn’t and two tables who was before us had not received anything either. With that we paid for what we’d had and left. They was busy with take aways and the phone never stopped. They was more bothered doing the take always rather than the customers in the restaurant. Very disappointed. Will not be returning for a long time.

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time earlier this evening, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were warmly welcomed in and promptly seated. The menu is full of exciting choices, and we chose dishes which suited us. The food arrived quite quickly and was tasty throughout, accompanied by some delicious sauces, leaving us wanting to return in order to sample further dishes. The menu was inviting, the service was prompt and attentive, and the food simply delightful.

We have seen this so many times on our way from work so we decided to give it a try and I am so glad we did. There was a warm welcome, the restaurant was busy but calm. The waiter attentive but not intrusive and the food excellent. I asked for something not on the menu and he told me it would not be a problem. We are all mindful of the price, 2 beers, 2 large wines 2 X 3 course meals £60. I would have paid more for what we got. Will we go again, yes.
