Beautiful food, eaten twice now and will definitely be back for more. My only criticism, if you can call it that was the bits of chicken in the butter chicken were a bit big, but that's very picky and I loved every bite of this meal, maybe even better than last time. Keep up the great work. Sorry no pictures, ate it straight away lol.

The food is great, have eaten both in the restaurant and ordered takeaway. But ordered yesterday at 6.30pm for a scheduled delivery at 8.30pm - when the food hadn’t arrived at 8.50pm I called and the girl who answered said it was on the way (we live 5mins from the restaurant). When the food still hadn’t arrived at 9.15pm I called again - to be told by a different employee that the driver couldn’t find our address and he was still 10minutes away. I’m not sure why the driver didn’t call en route for directions as my number was in the order details. Also, on delivery it was clear the driver was using Google maps on his phone which I’m certain has our address in. Overall - great food but poor service and lack of apology from the team puts me off future orders.

Came here twice during our visit. Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Nottingham.We liked each and everything we ordered. Absolutely amazing service. Cocktails were made really well too. Not going too specific on the dishes, as everything we ordered were spectacular! 10/10 would go again!

Genuinely the worst Indian meals I have ever had. Waited well over an hour for the most bang average curry in the smallest portion size. 1 egg fried rice and a prawn bhuna came to £23.90 absolute rip off

Wow! I love this place.. For an Indian.. This is very authentic ... Usually, and the problem being, the oily curry you get from many so called Indian restaurants is not always Indian food and not the food common across India..... However, Let me tell you, Bridge&Bayleaf at Gunthorpe Lock is a stylish informal dining Indian restaurant serving real Indian food in a casual, contemporary setting right on the River Trent. My King Prawn Dhesi was hot and spicy with a Paratha on the side, washed down with a large Cobra, and my wife had the Butter chicken and a garlic and coriander naan with that lovely thick sauce which doesn't end up all 'gloopy'..... Now you can't get more authentic than that !

We are staying at peacock lake glamping and it was recommended that we should eat The bridge and bayleaf during our stay, from walking in to leaving we received the best service they were so welcoming and made us feel at home, the food was amazing, ive been to many Indian restaurants home and abroad but this one... wow.. the best I've ever eaten. THE best curry I’ve had in Nottinghamshire. Since moving to Nottinghamshire in 2016 I’ve struggled to find a GOOD curry with spice! Often find that everything is made a lot milder and I come out feeling underwhelmed. This is one of the best places I’ve eaten, great food, lovely atmosphere, and amazing location. Love that it is family run. 10/10 recommend.

Just had the best meal ever. Mother's recipe with lamb is out of this world. The peshwari naan is a dessert in itself. Ordered and delivered exactly the time I ordered it. Lovely place , lovely food served by a lovely lady (Mum) she was knowledgeable and explained the different options for our taste. Would highly recommend .. if I could change one think offer smaller portions .

Had many takeaways from here as easily the best around and eaten indoors a couple of times. Not the cheapest but the best quality and taste around so willing to pay that little bit more. Nans are a firm favourite with all of us and the curries always have quality meat and flavouring

Lovely place, 'mother' bridge&bayleaf was super accommodating, welcoming and made it all the more perfect.... There was an issue with one of the pots (cracked) the 'ice cream' came in and a member of the kitchen staff came out and personally spoke to me regarding it to make sure I was okay with it... I ordered a takeaway from the Bridge and Bayleaf recently and I was blown away. One of the best curries I’ve ever had, the lamb was unreal, everything was of outstanding quality. Would definitely recommend and will be ordering again very soon!

We visit this restaurant regularly and sorry to say when we visited last Sunday it wasn't as good as usual , we were the only people in and our starters came and they were cold and the chicken was over cooked but we ate it as we were hungry, ordered a bottle of our usual chardonnay £26.95 !!! A little bottle of water £4.90 !!! Main came and the chicken was massive pieces we had to chop it all up !!! Disappointing !!! Complained to the lady and she was just ignoring us and kept walking off into the kitchen , they got our £70 so that was that in their opinion !!!

We went on Thursday night at about 7pm to eat in. It was good service. We asked for coconut rice which was not on the menu but they agreed anyway. They listened to our exact needs (thickness of dishes, absence of dairy) and food was served quickly. Recommended!

This review is based purely on delivery. After numerous times getting delivery from here this will be the last. 2hr 10mins delivery time. No apology. Food was cold. Although dining in here is nice the food does not travel well at all, quality is no where near as good and the wait is always a joke for delivery.

My only favourite Indian restaurant ever!! I am a professional chef and have my own restaurant/cafe and I can tell you that this the only place you have to go for a good Indian meal! The staff are friendly, the food is exceptional and Authentic!!! My favourite is Mother’s special with Nan bread!!! Some of my friend live far away but they still order from the bridge and bayleaf and are prepared to warm the meal if it gets cold due to delivery distance!! I wish them all the best and I will continue supporting such an amazing business!

We used to visit quite regularly or go and collect takeaway. Having visited last year on my husbands birthday and sitting near a very drunk woman who was clanging cutlery on plates and vaping unchallenged by the staff we decided not to visit again. I go out and pay good money to enjoy myself and not to breathe in vape fumes and come out with a headache from other inconsiderate diners. We’ve still collected takeaway which is always delicious but frequently we have to sit and wait for it to be ready respite giving 30 mins or so before arriving to collect. We always manage to get it home and it’s still hot. Today is my husbands birthday again and we decided to try our first takeaway ‘delivery’ order. I rang after 1 hour and 10 minutes to be told it had left and was on the way. 30 minutes later and it finally arrived. Cold. Having just read the reviews on here about deliveries I now realise I’m one of many. You should keep to what you’re good at as your reputation is suffering due to poor service. After contacting Food Hub I was told the manager would contact me directly to sort the issue. It’s 23:10 and I’m still waiting….

This is one of the most amazing and tasty meal I have ever had. Pakistani Kashmiri food cooked to perfection. The was rice very flavorfuI sprinkled with saffron and not too greasy. There were little extras added like pappadoms and little pickled dishes to start with on the house. I had Desi lamb and that was excellent. I have been in India for many months and have never had such delectable food, It could do with a revamp on the house side as I thought it was closed. The sign in particular for take away.

Ordered for delivery and it was over 30 minutes late which was really disappointing given that the wait was 50 minutes to start with. The food however did make up for it. I had a chicken dansak and it was beautiful. The right amount of heat and the meat was cooked perfectly. Naan bread was wonderful. If the delivery time was better, then this would be 5 stars.

We booked the Bridge & Bayleaf for our 25th wedding anniversary meal as we had our wedding reception back there 25 years ago when it was called the ‘Toll House’. We thought it would be a nice way to remember our wedding day. A few weeks before the date, met with the owner and his mother who were very accommodating as we wanted to specifically choose our table and decorate it for the special occasion. On the afternoon of our anniversary, we arrived early with balloons etc and they helped us dress the area. We later returned with our party of 8 and our enormous cake. We were all greeted by Mrs Khan, who was very attentive and asked if we wished the cake be kept chilled until later, she also set aside a small table nearby for us to display it later. We ordered drinks which arrived promptly, then placed our food order which again, given there was 8 of us, arrived within a short time (although we were not rushed). The food was excellent, amazing flavours and plenty of it. We would definitely recommend the Bridge & Bayleaf and would definitely return….well we did a few days later with flowers to thank Mrs Khan for her hospitality as we felt she most certainly deserved a proper thank you.

Food normally great however I do not no what has changed, tonight my family has a take away and I got a chicken korma like usual. Having finished the meal something felt off so I went to bed waking up now at what is 4am throwing up about id say my whole meal. Would only recommend if you want food poisoning what a shame won't be going there again.

I had been wanting to visit this establishment for a while, and am I glad I did. The Bridge & Bayleaf is situated on the banks of the River Trent and has beautiful views of the river itself and of the boats that are moored there. Inside the you will find it is exceptionally clean and well furnished. The staff were so friendly and very attentive, greeted with a smile from when we first arrived to huge thank you for visiting when we were leaving. The food was phenomenal. We opted for the Chef's Menu for 2, and it would easily have been enough food for 3 people. It was very well presented and tasted delicious. I haven't been to many Indian style restaurants, but this was by far the best one I have eaten in. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Having read one review I felt I had to comment we booked a table and when we arrived we were greeted by the owner and she showed us our table within minutes we ordered and received our drinks we were left to choose our meal which was our choice and after choosing the food was presented, it was fantastic the portions was generous and hot, having driven from London and staying local I have to say there are so many Indian restaurants to choose in London this was one of the best I have had some reviews are people who like to moan and complain just for the sake of it but trust me this family run restaurant is up there with the best my wife and myself eat out twice a week and if we lived locally we would be regular to eating here please do not be put off by people who moan for the sake of moaning try this restaurant you will not be disappointed trust me

I came here with my family for a birthday, was an amazing experience. All the staff where lovely and polite. As soon as i walked in i was greeted and sat straight to my table. The food was 10/10, i had some special requirements and all were catered to. Food came on time and was very well presented and most importantly…delicious!!!! We drove 13 miles to try this restaurant and I have to say this is one of the best Indian cuisine I have ever tasted better then the best in London the owner Mrs Khan greeted us with warmth and her sons are very polite and curtious this restaurant is a must you may have tried the rest but come and try the best.

We’ve been to the restaurant several times and have always had a great experience. The place is always spotless and the food is always lovely. The staff are always very attentive and very polite. It’s not often I leave reviews on trip advisor unless something is very bad or outstanding. I decided to leave this review because the lovely lady who runs the place was distraught about the previous review. She was absolutely in pieces about it. Now we’ve probably eaten there a dozen times and never once had anything but great food and great service. I’m not sure where the couple went to or what they were eating but I may suggest there is more to their review than meets the eye. Anyway the Bridge and Bayleaf is a lovely restaurant serving great food with great staff.

As I enjoy a milder curry, I was really pleased with the choice at The Bridge and Bayleaf, a very busy and well run family restaurant all expertly guided by the very knowledgeable and friendly matriarch. Her recommendations, in my case a mixed kebab starter and Cobra Chicken main, were excellent and the rest of my family all enjoyed their meals too. I understand they also offer a delivery service for takeaways and we will definitely be enjoying their food again in the near future.

Food was great! Lots of meat and surprisingly filling! Felt we had to wait a while between starters and mains (which a member of staff apologised for) we asked for the bill and again waited a long time before I gave up and went to pay only to be waiting another 10 minutes for a card machine as the second was broken. I was also given a pint glass which had black stains on the bottom inside of the glass which I returned and again an apology was given and apparently the glass was thrown away. And was offered a drink on them (shame I was driving!) turned out I was waiting a long time for the card machine because another table was querying the bill as it was more than expect as was mine too which I was told it was because the till was adding a service charge on top all by its self. I knocked the atmosphere down slightly as there was a kid on the table behind me shouting the same sentence over and over again which was really off putting.

Very limited car parking but not far to walk if you want to park near the pub in Gunthorpe. Pleasant riverside setting but walk from car park to entrance quite grim. Our first visit because we had seen the good reviews, sadly our visit was the complete opposite. We got a nice table overlooking the outside seating area and river. First thing we noticed was a dead fly on the side plate on the laid out table. I just got rid of it and got a new plate, these things can happen. Cutlery not very clean, no tablecloth and sticky table which was unpleasant. The windows and sills were quite dirty with spiders spinning webs and flys trying to avoid them. Greeted by the mother who was very pleasant and we ordered two beers. She bought the beers, they both had huge heads and were well below the pint mark. Glasses very wet with beer spill, placed on table and beer puddled around the glasses. Asked for some napkins to mop up the spill. Maybe this is why the tables are sticky. We said nothing about the short measures but a little while later the mother returned with a small glass of beer and topped us up at the table. A nice gesture but it should be served right first time. We ordered. Asked for Aloo tikki (spiced potato) from the menu but told they don’t do that. (Why was it on the menu?). We then chose the Chili Paneer starter and the mother recommended Chilli fish to start as well so we ordered that on recommendation. We waited and waited and waited and eventually the starters turned up after a very long time. Both looked quite nice on the plate if a little dried out. I took my knife and placed it on the paneer waiting for it to gently pierce the cheese and cut into it. No way. I put more pressure on. Nothing. I started to saw with similar pressure I would use to cut a tree down and it eventually gave. I placed a small piece in my mouth and tried to chew. It beat me, it was not going to allow me to chew it. I discretely removed it from my mouth, wondering how it was even possible to ruin paneer like this. Meanwhile, my wife (we were sharing starters) was still trying to cut into hers. I advised her not to. We went onto the fish. I put my knife into it and although it was supremely tough I managed to cut a piece. I put it into my mouth and chewed into the worst piece of cooked cod I’ve ever experienced. Bone dry to the point of it immediately drying my mouth out. My wife was equally appalled and we could not eat it. We agreed that with our experience so far that we did not want to continue experiencing the ‘delights’ and decided to leave. The manager approached us and asked us the problem. We told him and he said he knew it had been below their usual high standards and he was surprised as he had been in the kitchen when it went out. We took from that that either he know the dishes were compromised at point of serving or he had done a post mortem on them since. He was really nice and apologetic and implored us to stay so he could prove to us that the mains were wonderful. However the phone rang three times whilst he was talking to us and he decided to answer it each time so he could not devote proper time to us. I would have thought that in such a situation the ringing phone should have been left for someone else to answer as surely the priority should be a disgusted customer about to leave? We were in the process of being charged for the beer (fair enough as we had drank the beer) but he managed to tell the person to waive the cost for that in between phone calls. On reflection, I think that was the right decision as we had come out primarily for a meal, not a drink. Despite his assurances that the mains would be lovely we were not prepared to risk it. The starters were honestly that bad, even if he’d said the mains would be at no cost to us (which he didn’t) we would not have stayed. The ONLY Indian restaurant I have ever walked out of in 43 years! Afterwards, we drove to a nearby Indian restaurant (separate review to be done) which was excellent.

Come here for the first time. Staff were here where so friendly and attentive. Drinks and food both came to our table well presented and very quickly. The quality of the food is superb. 1st time visit and will not be the last, best Indian ever had full of flavour and the naan was superb. Staff very attentive, the owner and her son the manager both came over for a chat and both very passionate about the quality of food they serve no powders are used all fresh herbs and spices etc. The setting overlooking the river is the icing on the cake.

Check receipt!! Went in for 2 curry’s 2 naan and 1 rice. Went in and paid without being shown a receipt once paid I was never shown receipt and it was quickly hidden away. I instantly I thought I had been over charged and it took for me to go and grab the receipt from behind the till to see that I had been charged for 4 rice when only 1 was in the bag. which was obviously done to bump up the bill. The guy went on to tell me that the kitchen staff answered the phone and got it wrong but it was clearly his voice on the phone.
