Takeaway delivery was ordered at 19.30 arrived at 21.05 !!! Fortunately the food was delicious once reheated ! Special chow mein was delicious ! House special curry was plentiful and special rice was also plentiful and tasty ! Will definitely be using this restaurant again. !!

Tasty food, never desapoint, delivery was 5 mins early, a pleasure to recommend.

Food had no flavour but was too salty, mushy and had a weird aftertaste. Very disappointed!

It took 50 minutes from the point I got the notification to the food arriving to do a 4 mile journey. As a result the food quality was terrible. It was cold, the bag was dripping wet with condensation which affected the batter. Overall was not good

The crispy duck was everything but crispy (delicious though) but it would be unfair to downgrade the rating because all other items were spot on.

Crispy Duck not crispy, soggy greasy skin. Cucumber strips spongy, at the very least a day old.

The store is more of a take away place, there is only one table (max. 2 people), don't plan to eat here. No ambience and calls for food coming in all the time as well as delivery drivers and customers picking up. Owner is not customer oriented, prices are different online on the site, the apps and the in store menu which is VERY annoying. Owner did not respect prices or find a resolution, #badclientexperience and all for about 2 pounds or less.

Llegué a Brighton un sábado por la noche y tenía hambre después de un viaje en autobús de 7 horas y me encontré con este lugar. Desde la playa, The Magic Wok se encuentra a poco más de 3 / 4 's del camino por Preston Street. Hay algunos buenos restaurantes en Preston Street, pero por el precio y la calidad de la comida, este lugar me la empujó. Brighton en general es un lugar caro y por lo que espera pagar ese poco más en comparación con otros lugares, sin embargo, este lugar era bastante razonable. Opté por las albóndigas de pollo Sweet and Sour que tenía con patatas fritas, que resultó ser una buena opción ya que era agradable. La noche siguiente volví esta vez optando por el Beef Chow Mein, que de nuevo resultó una buena opción ya que estaba delicioso. El servicio era bueno también, y el tipo detrás del mostrador era amable y servicial, ya que me estaba aconsejando sobre lo que hay en la zona local en lo que respecta a tiendas / restaurantes / bares. No tengo nada negativo que decir sobre el Magic Wok, sé que cuando vuelva a Brighton, volveré aquí. ¡Un gran pulgar arriba!

VEGANS / VEGETARIANS BEWARE!!!! I found a piece of duck in my vegan meal 🤢 I called to complain and was told I’d hear from the owner but haven’t heard anything so not only don’t they care about cross contamination they clearly don’t care about customer service either. Will never order again.

Genuinely disgusting food. Some dishes inedible, others simply unpleasant. Three of us ordered and we all had to get another dinner. Total waste of money.

Thought I would give it one more try! Bbq ribs were burnt and fatty, pork was chewy! Rice was nice, chicken balls were ok.. guess you can’t go wrong with frying some batter…. Never again

order was wrong food turned up couple of mins late... such a shame always ordered regularly from this Chinese before and never had any issues... not a happy customer... now sitting waiting for 45 mins after calling them and heard nothing about my order. Food was ordered 19:16 delivery turned up at 20:27. when was meant to be 20:05 - 20:25. now sitting here at 21:19... hungry

Skeptical based on the Google reviews, but I really wanted Chinese food. Got garlic shrimp, chicken chow mein, plain rice, salt and chili chicken and wonton soup. All very flavorful and cooked properly, and they included prawn chips and egg rolls. Pleasantly surprised and it satiated a late night craving.

Expensive for what you are getting very little

Have ordered from this takeaway for the last 6 years. Used to be amazing!! Last couple of orders haven't been great but tonight's order has made me finally remove them from my go to menu. And this is why- lemon chicken.. no sauce! Synthetic sweet and sour sauce with chicken balls. Highlight of the meal? The £1 sachet of rice I bought from the supermarket.

I have been getting from this place for a while and it’s always great. The food is never cold, it always tastes great and the delivery people are always friendly. Very few places in Brighton don’t mess up and order either but still have not had this with this place. 5 stars.

Use to order from here allll the time but not after tonight , called up and got straight away we ain’t open bye in a massively rude manor so I called back and asked if that was the case he laughed and done it again, never ever returning here again

estimated delivery time wss 22:55-23:10. I made the order hoping to get home before delivery. Delivery came in 35mins earlier when I was still not home yet. The delivery guy left the food outside.

Best Chinese Chicken Curry I’ve had in years!

Estimated delivery time was over an hour but I went ahead with the order. I had to contact them twice to get an update after the estimate time had passed. Feeble excuse about traffic was given and food eventually arrived about an hour and thirty five minutes after ordering. Food was good.

Didn’t receive order still haven’t recieved refund to just eat account

Missing the pork balls and sweet and sour sauce. No sauce with the duck, and there was barely any duck at all. Two big bones and next to no meat. The soup also tasted very strange. Chow me in was nice though.

Great portions and taste came hot with little extra mini spring rolls which were lovely and nice surprise.

First time ordering from here, and the chicken cashew nut and the beef with ginger and spring onion were delicious, fresh and flavoursome. Generous portions of fried rice too! will be ordering from here again.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken, which was nice. But the Chinese chicken curry wasn’t great, and the house style chow mean, was awful. The meat was slimy, it had hardly any flavour.

Not as good as usual. I ordered rice and got a bean sprout pastie instead. I ordered chicken with cashews and got vegetarian chicken instead. The sesame toast had hardly any sesame seeds on it.

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had, spent £50 and couldn’t even have a few mouthfuls of it

Food was very disappointing and undercooked, no tracking, said it was delivered when it wasn't and only changed the delivery time when I got in contact, not ordering from here again.

Normally the food here is of great quality but today the food was very disappointing . The curry was a lot thicker & very dark in colour & the mushrooms tasted & smelt burnt .I’m hoping it’s just a one off as it would be a shame to see anther great resultant gone or on the way out.

The Crispy duck was pure fat and not meat (pity I can't add a photo as this would put all customers off!!!!) - £12 wasted as it was inedible, The Chicken Chow mien was cold and the chicken pieces simply thrown on the top and not cooked with the chow mien. It was also cold. Worst Chinese food I have ever had!!!

Loved it, all good arrived earlier than expected which was great as we were hungry. Chicken balls with the sweet and sour could have been crispier but overall gorgeous.

The food was lovely and thank you for the free spring rolls and prawn crackers. But I wasn’t so sure of the seaweed it had way too much sugar in it and I don’t understand why seaweed is meant to be salty. It did make it tasty but sugar is addictive and it piles on the pounds. Some of the chicken pieces were very stringy and thus it was probably old chicken but it didn’t unsettle my stomach. I buy again thank you for coming earlier I was hungry.

I ordered and I received the food after 15 min! The driver saw me how shocked I was , the rush of cooking gave me wrong dish, disappointed again, and hope you change chef soon , the rice was blind and unsalted, few spoon and I bin it, you cooked my food in 5 min and then 10 min or less of journey to get here, that’s unacceptable

Delivery time was on point,but could've used the 30 minutes early delivery to cook the chilli and salt chips properly and the chicken balls.

Most of the food was ok but the duck was nearly all bones and skin. Barely enough to make 2 wraps

Quality fantastic as always, driver called just right to get to hotel lobby - I would always recommend no hesitation - use them not as a visitor and for years as a resident the consistency is always fantastic

The food was lovely however the delivery driver was really quite rude. As the flat is up 2 flights of stairs when i opened the door he was walking up and said "you could of walked down for it" .. my reason for ordering food was as wasnt feeling to great so rather than have to leave the flat. He then rather than walk to the door and hand it over left it on the stairs. Think perhaps someone should maybe speak to him Thw food was lovely and tasted great just a rather rude delivery driver sadly

Good food, hot and quick delivery

I couldn't get your online ordering service to work: It only offered a very limited choice of starters and chicken dishes and none of the dishes I normally order - there is something wrong with it. I had to order through Just Eat at extra expense. It needs fixing otherwise I will have to go elsewhere.

On the order it said it'll be at my doorstep at 18:05 to 18:35. Called landline number about my order as it's late by 20 minutes.

Unfortunately the main dishes we ordered were really watery and tasteless. Wouldn't order again 😔

Food was late, when it arrived it was cold and frankly stale, greasy and not edible. For an order costing £40+, not good at all. Don’t order from here

Lovely tasty food. Hot and fresh. Very friendly guy serving. We liked it so much we went back for more before we left Brighton.

We were very disappointed , the Chicken balls and sauce were ok, I didn't try the rice as it looked very dry and there was a lot of waste as the portion was too large. The Lamb with pancakes spring onion and cucumber and hoi sin sauce was terrible and was my main meal ! I was able to eat two or three bits of the lamb meat as the rest was dry fat skin and ineduble skin. If I had invited guests I would have been really embarrassed...

Avoid this place to not be poisoned. Pork ribs too dry,chicken pink and uncooked. Egg fried rice tastes like tyres. Hairs in the food. They cook with cheap and unhealthy oil. Dirty and messy kitchen. Don't reccomend

Food was cold. Chow mein wasn't great, the meat was just put on top and not mixed in.

Loved our Thai green curries, food arrived super hot, cooked well and they gave us some extras too, everything was delicious! Delivery guy was friendly and arrived in time stated. Great place, we recommend, never have let us down :)

Food usually ok. Two star review for the service. Obese delivery guy didn’t like going up stairs to deliver my food. Verbally abused me because I should have come down to meet him? Apparently others do it for his precious not-so-little carcass. I’ve never had any delivery man ever say that to me in a decade. Nor be so openly rude for no reason. Service with a smile from these guys!
