Ordered food last night the chicken curry was like jelly food was very greasy never again will I order it wouldn’t recommend

Very tasty salt and pepper tofu and spring rolls and the noodles were delicious! You could tell the vegetables were freshly cooked and service was great too.

Food is delicious, service is friendly and quick, portions are abundant. Very happy customers, highly recommended!

I am sorry to say, but we ordered three main dishes and two starters and only the noodles were edible, the rest was disgusting :( Do not bother!

Singapore rice.. don't bother..no spice..so dry drunk water every gulp..always order noodles..disappointed..

This Chinese was freezing cold when it came to me the chips was freezing all the food was freezing and the delivery driver demanded the money off me £5 for delivery what a horrible Chinese what a horrible business the way to run business And some parts of the chicken was black I do not recommend anybody to eat out of this Chinese be careful

Very disappointed I have a serious nut allergy so always very careful when I order .. appetiser comes with seaweed and unfortunately they put cashewnuts in it but do not advertise on menu that this is the case … informed the restaurant… BE CARFUL ANY ONE ORDERING WOTH ALLERGIES AS MENU NOT CORRECT ….. very close escape for me

We get takeaway regularly here. It’s so good! Their Happy Inn Special fried rice is insanely good, and they do crispy wontons..

Today we visited for a friends birthday, we visited the walrus often for drinks only as we usually favor other restaurants for a roast dinner but after one of our party visited last week and highly recommended, we decided to give it a go and this was a bad decision. The cauliflower cheese was cold and overdone, the potatoes were so crispy there was no potato left inside and the 'pink' beef was a few hours past pink. I did try a friends pork which was alot better but the veg and potatoes were the same. I will mention that they were very busy due to the marathon however this shouldnt really be an excuse. As i mentioned earlier a friend had visited a week beforehand and said that their roast dinner was significantly better than todays so perhaps this was a bad day. The roof terrace upstairs is lovely especially in the summer! I will return to the walrus but probably not for a roast dinner.

It was a Friday Eve so we booked in advance.. no need as the restaurant was empty! On a Friday! Food wasn’t up to much. I had fish and chips..the chips were burnt, tucked under the fish which was extremely dry ...all very mediocre..staff were pleasant though ... so thank you nice staff!

Have eaten here many times, food is always hot and tasty, service is always good. Love the big trees older than me!

Have used this place for years and was happy until tonight and now very, VERY! unimpressed....don't like being fobbed off with delivery time...food soggy when eventually arrived!! NOT GOOD!!

Very tasteless, salty & oily. The chow mein was more like overcooked cheap spaghetti. We used to love this place. God knows why they've changed things! Never again! Waste of £56 for 2 people

Quality fresh ingredients, lots of meat and egg in the fried rice, good level of spice. Overall was just really good quality. Really impressed overall and will be buying from Happy Inn again!

Extremely nice food with top quality ingredients. We would definitely recommend it to everyone who likes Chinese food. We have found that the House Special Fried Rice enough rice for 2 and it's topped with a variety of some of their other dishes.

Absolute joke of a 'Chinese' . Ordered £30 from this place and the food was awful. Firstly the chicken chow mein. Or I should say noodles in flavouring. There was no vegetables and hardly any chicken just a massive bowl of noodles with no sauce. The smell from duck in plum sauce is enough to burn your nostril hairs off so I'd avoid that as well. The worst thing was is that I called up the kitchen and said we weren't happy with the food. They then sent someone out to pick up everything we ordered and told us to get in contact with just eat. Just eat being the brilliant company they are have refused to refund me despite in the end paying £30 for ordering grim food which was then taken away. So I paid £30 for no food. Don't go here there's so many better options in Brighton. And don't use just eat either because they don't have a clue either.

To be honest it's pretty much spot on, only a a few times in the last 30 years have we been unlucky here.

Check your reciepts when you get delivery. The menu very clearly states £1 delivery. I was told it was £1 for delivery on the phone, yet when the driver arrived it was £2 and he was going to take it away becuase I didn’t have extra.. can’t fault the food but clarity on this would be helpful to your customers..

I had duck and pineapple with egg fried rice. Wait time was fine and the food was a good standard. Unsure how clean the kitchen is as it's behind a curtain, kids were running around but food seems fine.

Mi familia y yo hemos sido clientes fieles a este establecimiento durante años a través de los cambios de propiedad, etc. En esta ocasión en particular pedimos calamares a la sal, pimienta, pollo al limón y el menú de comida habitual y un plato de gambas. El calamar obviamente estaba previamente congelado y estaba cubierto de cemento círculo azul. Me refiero a una especie de masa y el pollo estaba tan delgado que parecía que estaba listo para que le pusieran tabaco y se llamara un roll up, la salsa de limón para el pollo. no tenía sabor a limón en general, una excusa muy pobre para una comida china. A medida que avanza esta comida, se acerca a los esfuerzos de supermercados de bajo presupuesto por tratar de replicar la comida china.

Would do 0 stars if I could, absolutely disgusting we ordered chicken chow mein and beef chow mein with both no veg and the first time we ate it there was no sauce it was literally noodle and chicken so we went back and complained and they gave us this with one beef chow mein with sauce us and the chicken chow mein with the exact same Noodle and chicken with no sauce disgusting, taste like jelly Came to £18.80p for chicken chow mein beef chow mein which fasted vile Chicken balls, who charges £5 for that!!! Egg fried rice Please don't go 10/10 do NOT recommend!!!!

Avoid if you want to actually eat. I ordered food at 6pm, delivery was stated at 7pm. At 7.30 I was still waiting. I tried several times to call but line was constantly engaged. Thankfully I'd opted to pay cash on delivery so wasn't out of pocket when I cancelled and went elsewhere to eat. This takeaway is shockingly bad for service.

Would give zero stars if I could. Avoid at all costs. Ordered through Just Eat, food took an hour and a half to arrive, even though website said it would be 40 minutes. When food finally arrived it was stone cold (probably due to the containers being in a open vegetable box, rather than the usual bag). Had to warm it up in the microwave! Food was rather bland once we finally got to eat it. So much so, most of it went in the bin (including the horrendous chips!). Contacted Just Eat, got offered a £5 voucher. So generous, considering it was an over £40 order! After much deliberation they upped it to £20. However, we shan't be spending it here.

Ordered waited over a hour for delivery and was given the wrong order so driver came back with the right order how disgusted we were as we have been regular customers for years no prawns in the toast only greasy soggy bread burnt food greasy rolls will never order from here again I'm surprised they let it go out in the first place

Love all of the Chinese here but the crispy shredded beef is not great, lacks flavour and really dry

Been using these guys for years, quality of food is always consistent and portion sizes are generous. Tried many other local chineses take aways, but always come back to Happy Inn. Recommended.

Always been good and still is. It's always nicely cooked, and very quick too. The sauces taste as they should, unlike some Chinese takeaways where every sauce is just a thin brown water and you have to guess what it's supposed to be. Especially love the satay which is very authentic, rather than tasting like peanut butter with a bit of chilli. The meat is always good quality too. Lovely tender beef, and the Char Siu roast pork is excellent. Another favourite of mine is the salt and chilli squid, which is always cooked just right. I've tried lots of others within a 10 minute drive, but none come close.

Awful Place. Don't use it. Woman on the phone really rude. Food tasteless. Order wrong. Will never use them again

I went to collect my food and saw through to the kitchen that the chef uses his hands alot to cook rather than utensils that put me off and the lady who answers the phone is extremely rude with no manners what so ever
