Had the most amazing Sunday lunch. Been wanting to try here for ages and it didn’t disappoint. Food was 10/10 and the Christmas decorations just make it. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

Oh my I have never wrote a review before but I just had to say how amazing there food was and how friendly all the staff are . And the Christmas lights were beautiful. Thank you for such a good time and we will be back soon :)

The restaurant never fails to impress with excellent service and good food with large portions. A main is sufficient passion the beautiful starters and desserts unless you are absolutely ravenous.

Always very attentive with great food. Had the Seafood Chowder very very filling and absolutely delicious.

We called in at lunchtime today and were seated by the fire. Allergies were catered for with no problem at all. Food was excellent and good portion sizes. We were served in a very friendly and welcoming manner. We will have to come back! We also loved the Christmas decorations - beautiful wee place and well worth a visit.

Amazing food and very comfortable

Booked in advance for family meet up, party of 3 Saturday evening dinner followed next day Sunday, with party of 5 for lunch (initially 7). Food and service is very good salmon, mussels fish and chips Saturday evening. Traditional Sunday lunch roasts of beef/lamb/turkey ham all excellent. Two hours is the time allowed for the meal which is acceptable, however, the biggest down turn is the place was packed on both occasions. On both days we were asked to vacate our table and finish our drinks at another table. This would have been acceptable had we not also been asked to vacate the second table 10 minutes later as this was also needed for diners. There is no room or space set aside for diners to finish drinks and chit chat after their meal. Tables have been squeezed into every corner including what was initially the bar area from my previous visits. Guests have no option but to leave the restaurant after your allocated two hour sitting. Be aware you will be "evicted" promptly at end of your meal.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Arrived just after noon, so it wasn't too busy. It was by the time we left around 1.30pm. The service was excellent, everyone who dealt with us was very kind and attentive. We were well looked after. Would definitely recommend.

Called on spec ... hadn't been for years. Immediately impressed by the warmth, cosiness, and ambience. The staff were positive and welcoming. The service was very good and the food piping hot: the katsu chicken curry, in particular, was excellent. It was a good decision to call in!

We had a lovely dinner here with our family. The food was absolutely 1st class and really generous potions. Great atmosphere and excellent service from the guys looking after us. Would highly recommend thank you 😊

Found this Bar towards the end of our holiday at Tollymore Forest Park. Shame, as it ticked all the boxes for us, good food (sensibly priced), good service and great atmosphere. It didn't strike me as a touristy bar just a great local. Would totally recommend.

We visited Newcastle for the Irish Open and The Maghera Inn was recommended to us. We visited the restaurant and were delighted that we did. It was the best meal we had in years. The food, service and hospitality was wonderful. We loved it and highly recommend it.

The perfect setting for Corporate clients following a day at the Irish Open 2024. Fantastic food, drinks, venue and setting – quick, efficient and friendly service too. The team at the Maghera Inn were absolutely brilliant. Big shout out to Ryan who took care of our group of 12 on this occasion - fantastic service and a real credit to the brilliant Maghera Inn team.

The supreme of chicken wither risotto was delish and the steak cooked perfectly. The chowder was a bit of a let down, but the rest of the meal was delish and the service was fab.

The Maghera Inn is confusing if you haven't been there before. The Inn is a bar and restaurant and the carpark is at the back. The carpark has three sides so you're not always aware how busy it is. The bar part is quite dark and if you would like food you have to wait to be seated. The restaurant at the back has lots of windows. The bar part less so. As it had a number of reservations, we were seated in the darker bar part. The chicken stack and the cheesy topped Guinness and steak pie were good. Service was fine but reserved.

Fabulous gastro pub food at a very good price. Staff all very friendly and attentive. The pub building , both inside and out has amazing character.

What a little gem. The pub is adorned with flowers and the food is fanastic. Recommend booking as very popular.

Down in the Mournes for the day doing some walking-we found this place on Trip Advisor. From the minute we walked in-we loved this place. Loved the decor, the cosyness and the customer service was excellent. The food was outstanding-beautifully presented, massive portions and tasted so good. Big shout out to Ryan who served us-as warm, hospitable and friendly as we’ve met. Well done Ryan!

One of the best traditional pub-restaurants in Ireland. The food is delicious and the service wonderful.

Visited twice on the recommendation of family whilst visiting Northern Ireland. Great pub with warm welcome, good selection of beers and fantastic food at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit…or two….booking recommended though at most times & probably essential at busy times.

Nice find, while we're traveling from Newcastle to Dumdum. We had the best stuffed leg of lamb and Hakc.

Brillant location and larbe menu

Myself and my family were staying in Dundrum last week. Came here for dinner on Wednesday night and it was nothing short of incredible. We had steak, ribs and chowder. Everything was amazing. The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious, the ribs fell off the bone and the sauce was delectable. The chowder was next level, fresh fish and creamy soup to go with. I'll definitely be back

This place still feels like a country pub yet serves amazing food & on a day that the sun shines you can set on the deck & enjoy a perfect pint of Guinness with a view of the Mourners 👍

Did not book but they were very happy to accommodate even though they were busy. I dont usually have the special but these were to die for super tasty and portions were just perfect . 3 courses tea and drinks the price for two of us was exceptional. Staff made the whole experience even more wonderful.. can’t wait to go back

Came in here with a group of friends a few weeks ago and it was brilliant. I had the chicken burger which was juicy and cooked well. The portions are pretty huge, so I literally did not eat for the rest of the day. Friendly service, cute bar area, wonderful local pub

Booked a table for my granddaughter's first communion celebration meal and will certainly be going back, great food and drink, attentive friendly staff lovely setting, well worth a visit.

Food was excellent. Burgers were so nice, pulled pork was extremely tasty. Loved the homemade chunky chips and pepper sauce was very good. Staff were great, really helpful, and friendly. Would highly recommend.

The food was delicious. The hot fudge cake was the best I have ever had in my 7 years of life.

The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was to die for. Tried both the salmon fillet and the chicken katsu curry and I honestly don't know which to recommend more.

This was the first time we have been to The Maghera Inn but it definitely won't be the last . The menu has plenty of choice the service was excellent and you couldn't fault the food it was delicious.

food was good but like a lot of restaurants ordered dessert and coffee the coffee came 15 minutes before the dessert I should have said but u would think they would know don't drink coffee before dessert at home

Lovely food on Easter Sunday. They do a collection service for food too, which I've used a few times. Highly recommend.

A real hidden gem , will definitely be back

Very disappointed with the food yesterday. I had the Lasagne which was terrible was mostly cheese and the little bit of mince that was in it was so dry. Another one of my party had the burger and they were not impressed either saying it was so dry as well with no real taste I have been on previous occasions and food was normally very good but I'm afraid yesterday will put me of going back in a hurray

Incredible food - large portions, great value for money. This pub/restaurant has a lovely vibe and suits adults and children.

Have used here on previous occasions, the most recent time which was 2yrs ago and everything was nice. open fire, nice atmosphere & food was lovely. However, went a few days ago with 3 kids and 2 adults (didn't book) around 1150am. The place was empty and was only to be told RUDELY they could not us provide us with a table. Its understandable if they have bookings and all tables were full, but unfortunately this was not the case. If this was my business i would try and accommodate every customer walked through the door. This is lost business and i think its fair to say i will not return or recommend to family or friends. We then went on into Newcastle only for O'hares to take us as a walk in with no issues. so my advice would be going forward book a table in advance.

Great busy atmosphere. Food wise portions are very generous. Chicken liver parfait and crumbed mushrooms were good starters and then the salmon was OK - huge portion of salmon. Sausage and mash also good. The onion rings were disappointing and wouldn't order again. Too much batter and the onions were very bland, basically just a doughy flavour.

We went to the Maghera Inn a few weeks ago. We booked the table for 20:30, so a late booking but I must say it was a lovely experience from the food to the service and all around we had a fantastic time. We were the last to leave the restaurant but the staff never made us feel rushed. We both had the salmon and the portion size for that dish was massive and the aroma.... We're definitely going to come back again.

Delicious food. Lovely setting. Great location for a hiking day. Not cheap but then the decor and food weren’t either. Everything we ate was in big portions and tasted fantastic. And they catered amazingly for our small children too. Beautiful Christmas decorations.

First time here and had a beautiful meal with my friends.

This establishment has to be the cosiest, most comfortable, casual bar/restaurant on the planet. More importantly the food and service and friendliness are superb. I have started to go on a Friday afternoon to treat myself and I honestly cannot complain about one single thing. The food is so tasty, plentiful and well presented. It is consistently delicious, not common in this day and age. The roast dinners are actually the best anywhere because they actually taste of old fashioned roast dinners. Well done the Inn, I’m so happy I’ve found you.

Hadn’t been here in a few years and decided to return as a family as we had rented accommodation in the Mournes and wanted a decent meal. Wasn’t disappointed, the food was lovely and portion sizes were great.The service was good considering the place was packed, about a thirty min wait. I’d recommend the salmon,it was delicious, my daughter in law had the roast beef and loved it. One small thing though, we had one member of our group still eating and the waitress whipped away everyone else’s plates. Overall a great experience and will definitely return

Recommended by the B&B we were staying at. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Ordered one of their specials and their salmon dish. The portions are huge, one could easily feed two. The meal was hot, delicious and plentiful. Good atmosphere, clearly a Favorite of locals and understandably so. Go hungry and you will not be disappointed. The chef and staff are to be commended. Glad we took the advice of our host.
