Madison in City of London, Westminster

Food is good. Specially the crab/lobster nachos They have Halal menu as well, which is great for people wanting it, so they don’t feel left out. I would recommend they should provide mash Patato/ gravy options with the steak which can be dry. We ordered 7 of them with different cooked options, but found those to be bit dry. Chicken and Prawns are also good. Staff is great, however the lady at the billing didn’t look welcoming and had a bad attitude towards the serving staff

I was turned away when I asked to have a drink alone. The host informed me that they only accept groups of two or more and that it’s not possible to book a table for just one person. This policy feels discriminatory toward solo visitors and is quite disappointing

Came here for brunch was sat underneath the glass but was so hot we asked to be moved and were accommodated. Only thing I thought was rude, is that when we first arrived we asked for 5mins to choose drinks and waiter was polite but his tone was telling us off saying we only have the table for a limited time. Food was ok. I got a steak, but it was tough to cut even though I asked for medium rare. Mango sundae dessert was delicious

An iconic rooftop bar and restaurant in the actual heart of the City. Adjacent to St Paul's and located atop One New Change with truly great views of London and the Thames. Very good music during summer and has a great buzz. Be prepared to pay and come dressed well to avoid disappointment.

Recommended to go to the Madison roof top bar for an "Ibiza" experience. It was a sunny late afternoon in London, and the vibe was friendly and very cool, DJ playing, and people dancing and chatting in the sun. Views of St Pauls, just another bonus. Benjamin served us promptly and attentively. Thank you. We'll be back, and highly recommend to others...

Called to get reservation and told they could accommodate. When we got there we were met with a laugh and told leave. Interesting experience to say the least!

Do not recommend coming here. I’ve lived in London for 10 years and it used to be such a cool bar where you could walk around and have photos close to St Paul’s and enjoy the sun. Went there on a sunny evening hoping for a lovely time and apart from the company I had, it wasn’t great. They’ve shut most of the rooftop off. The food is not very good and they tried to make us have two courses. Not worth the money and not a vibe anymore

Same old story with this place I’m afraid, we attended my friend’s 25th birthday party brunch. Upon arrival we was greeted at the downstairs lift by a very miserable and rude aggressive Bouncer who when checking us in for our booking he straight away said you must leave immediately after your brunch you are not allowed at the rooftop bar? What a great way to welcome paying customers! Bearing in mind we was a mixed group with male and female. After this great welcome we proceeded upstairs for the brunch. Food was okay. Service was terrible. We spent over £1000 for 9 people. Cost was not an issue however when paying the bill we went outside to finish our second 3L bottle of wine. We was greeted by 3 bouncers who told us we must leave the premises immediately. What a way to talk to your valuable paying customers? The manager was also rude and didn’t assist in accommodating us to finish our drinks. We was the surrounded and escorted into the lift. What a shambles. A bit of advice, please train your rude aggressive bouncers with some people skills. I understand if 10 men turn up and they looked like they were going to cause trouble however being a mixed group this is not an issue. This place is known for having terrible door staff, this is not the first bad experience I have had. Really disappointing.

Came for bottomless brunch and had a lovely seat on the roof terrace with perfect view of St Paul’s. Food was amazing and there was such great and friendly service from Ashvin. Our glasses were never empty!

Loved our time here. Food was very flavourful and well presented, definitely would recommend trying one of their Lobster options and the buttermilk chicken starter. Unfortunately there was some unexpected construction around the bar area so we were not able to fully experience the view however, the view from our table was still wonderful. Want to explicitly thank Abijith our waiter and the rest of the team for making the experience truly special and giving it that 5 star feel.

I would like to give this review on a disabled side. The staff were so accommodating to my needs. Nothing was too much trouble. I can not stand for long and after the amazing food and bunch they managed to find us an outside seating area. The staff were amazing and so accommading nothing made me feel like I was a nuisance which is a daily battle. I'd like to say.... beautiful staff, nothing was too much and I really appreciate them helping me and respecting my needs. I dont go out much and it was a well needed day out. Thank you so much to your team. Very appreciated. X

Fantastic views but unfortunately were very understaffed so lots of patrons were left waiting to get the attention of staff. We were served dessert first in a mix-up, then waited over 45mins for mains and had to ask staff, then they also forgot one of our orders. Not the staffs fault, they were run off their feet but still very friendly & trying their best. The food was mediocre, that chicken waffle was awful and tasted like cardboard. Even with the views & dining setting we would not come back.

Reservations not required for drinks. Not allowed to go to the bar because we had no reservation?? Saw many other young people arriving and going up. We are an old couple. Just want to enjoy the sunny afternoon on the terrace having a cocktail. 😪

Went here for work drinks, had to leave early as the music was too loud. Reached 108dB on an app on my phone sitting 2-3m from the speaker. Dangerously high volumes. I’ll never go back.

One word - HORRENDOUS! Lovely views and a great open air space, but that’s extent of our good experience. Below is a quick summary of our visit on 09/05/21: 1. Pushy bordering rude waiting staff: almost forced us to order all our food including appetiser and main course along with drinks at once. He just won’t relent despite our multiple requests until we ordered everything. Apparently he had a specific bill target to meet (given by the management)! We ended up spending £160 for two people, which is in general quite alright. It’s just that we felt quite forced. 2. Average food: dry and flavourless! 3. Rude security staff: almost trampled us when we tried to take a quick picture of St Pauls. Overall, a terrible experience. I know Madison is popular (mainly because of St Pauls views tbh), but they don’t give a damn about customer experience, quality of food or just basic decency. NEVER AGAIN!

My friends and I got a table without a view, even though I had reserved a table a few weeks in advance. The table was sticky and the inside of the restaurant was too loud to have a normal conversation. The food was delicious. Overall overpriced.

Vodka pasta sauce was not cooked enough and I got really drunk off the sauce ( low alcohol tolerance). :( even my friends could still taste the vodka in it. Service was not great for the amount you’re spending, waiters barely looked at our table so it was really hard to get their attention. Medium rare steak came rare. The lights on our table went off and even though the waiter walked past he never bothered to replace it till we asked. Honeycomb cheesecake was great though! Desserts were nice and the view out was lovely.

Terrible experience at Madison London I had one of the worst dining experiences here. The manager was shockingly rude, the service was slow and unhelpful, and the food was genuinely awful. To make matters worse, I was pressured into paying a service charge despite the poor experience. Absolutely not worth the hype or the price. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

As a single person, you won’t get in without reservation. 2+ people get to do a walk-in, single persons do not, and they are rude about it. Very discriminatory, I used to go sometimes but now I am no longer interested in this place. What a shame.

I have been twice and the vegetarian food was poor on both occasions. Service is slow (45+ mins wait at lunch time). The others did enjoy their steaks but my parmigiana was not fully cooked.

Hmm! Visited the Rooftop. I was enjoying the vibe here till multiple encounters with the staff. IMy brother says he's had a nice time there, so we went along. We stand around waiting for a chair to free up so we can start enjoying ourselves. Immediately we find one open and take a sit, a waiter comes and says "table is reserved for 30mins ahead" or something. So we look around for yet another table, so we don't have to get up when whomever it was reserved for comes in. We ask "what does it take to reserve a table", we were told "minimum spend of either £300 or £500". Maybe we should have just done that.🤷🏾‍♀️ Anyways a table clears up opposite us and we quickly move to that one. 1hr+ later and £500+ spent. Yet another waiter comes and says "table is reserved for 20mins ahead" immediately our empty bottles are cleared. I laugh, my brother is quite upset and tries to speak to someone. Alas, no management or wait staff could find the time to even hear him. I'm not going to make a thing on maybe this place likes a particular kind of crowd; however having the same thing happen twice in one afternoon, and then not able to speak to any personnel seemed intentional. I do not recollect ever encountering so much hostility in hospitality anywhere in the world I've been to. It's a decent rooftop, but you go to the bar to buy your own drinks, carry it to your own table, and still get treated with disrespect and disregard. ❌ Very Poor, a 1 Star Experience.

The expedition was of beautiful views over the city of London and in particular, St Paul’s Cathedral and excellent food. The views were stunning, the service was excellent and the food was really good, although the starters and main could have been hotter.

Visited Madison yesterday with a friend and felt very well looked after by the waiters and waitress. I would like to give a special mention to Ashvin he provided myself and my friend with how the brunch actually worked as there was some initial confusion. The buffalo chicken starter and vodka pasta rigatoni were superb! The rooftop was fantastic with St Paul’s Cathedral in the background and really enjoyed the 2 DJs complete contrast in music. The mix of people were of all ages and what was lovely was that me and my friend could take our glasses of Prosecco from the brunch onto the roof terrace. My only issue would be that it would be great if the cocktails could be a little bit cheaper but I do appreciate this is St Paul’s and Madison is a very chic bar and restaurant experience.

Absolutely so disappointed with this venue both restaurants and roof top bar! Despite booking 2 months before. We booked 2 tables for 18 people for a special occasion. After requesting to pay separately for drinks at the table they were very put out by this. Causing quite a lot of chaos on arrival! The level of service was terrible the waiter pouring Prosecco into my glass of champagne. Personally if you are buying £120 bottle of champagne you should be given a different glass to the Prosecco glasses! Then they told us we were not allowed on the roof terrace despite pre booking as they said there was many of us! Despite spending a fortune and being in small groups on the terrace they basically asked us to leave after being there an hour! It was disappointing they treated us like that! Despite spending a lot of money there all afternoon. I would not be visiting again. Would not recommend for anyone looking for booking a special occasion.

The atmosphere is great, and the view is stunning, but I was disappointed with the food. However, it’s a great place to have a drink and enjoy some small dishes with a view of London.

Ashvin was superb ,nice to have a sister being friendly and welcoming , we had a great time and he made us feel incredibly welcome and would definitely be back soon. Great Sunday brunch venue I would defo recommend.

Muy mala experiencia. Llevó a una amiga por su cumpleaños, tomamos 2 copas cada uno y ella comenzó a sentirse mal (acabamos de tomar un brunch de mariscos y la combinación no le sentó bien). Le pedí que se acostara y luego la llevaría al baño mientras esperamos nuestra casa. Visiblemente no estaba bien, en lugar de ofrecer un poco de agua o para ayudarnos solo nos pidieron que nos fuéramos. Incluso un bar regular de 1 estrella en la carretera ofrecería un vaso de agua. La llevé al baño primero y mientras lo hacía 2 hombres de seguridad muy grandes nos siguieron e invadieron nuestro espacio personal, fue muy intimidante. Tuvo un ataque de pánico en el baño. Entonces nos fuimos, por supuesto. Muy mal trato a un patrón que claramente no estaba bien. Le escribo al lugar y espero una disculpa formal. Es inapropiado que dos hombres grandes se acerquen a dos niñas tan de cerca, así que lo he planteado con el jefe de seguridad. Nos sentimos acosados, y si nos hubieran tocado (cosa que parecía que iban a hacer) , constituiría agresión. Solía visitar con frecuencia, pero en las últimas 2 ocasiones han tenido personal grosero, por lo que no volveré a visitar. Dirijo un TikTok foodie y publicaré la experiencia allí también para advertir a la gente, y cualquier comentario que reciba. Veo tanto en línea como a través de amigos personales que la calidad de Madison ha disminuido fuertemente con los años, y parece que el problema principal es el personal y las relaciones personales... Ahora hay lugares muy superiores, como Roka o Pérgola cerca. Mismo ambiente de terraza y vista, pero mucha más calidad de la gente trabajando. Cuando trabajas en hostelería, las relaciones con las personas lo son todo... Madison parece haber olvidado esto.

Realmente decepcionante, confirmamos por correo electrónico que tenían un menú para niños y cuando aparecimos no lo hicieron. Evite si tiene hijos, especialmente si desea un buen servicio. Terminé teniendo que irme.
