Madha - North & South Indian Kitchen in Glasgow City

My girlfriend and I yearned for a date night and settled on a nice meal at a place we hadn’t been before. Madha was selected after I read an article stating that it was good for vegetarians, and my girlfriend is a meatless wonder. What happened next, shocked me to my very core. The food was absolutely lovely, I had the vegetarian Thali which our server Joseph (more on him later) was extremely pleased to explain to us the different contents of the dish. The poppadoms and chutney were preposterously good, and the lassi a dream to wash it down. I could spend a lot more time talking of the food but I shall continue on to the most endearing part of this quaint little establishment. Joseph, our aforementioned server, was a joy. He was an absolute gentleman and seemed so grateful for our custom. He made the experience absolutely brilliant and I’ll definitely be back due to this. Definitely check this place out, a little gem.

Had a fantastic meal here last night , food very different from the biog standard Indian food but what makes this place such an enjoyable experience is not just the food but the fantastic service , staff so helpful and knowledgable about the dishes , will defo be back .

Went to visit and got there maybe 20 minutes before their close time. Felt a little bad but they welcomed me in and said they are regularly open a lot longer. Had a conversation about what we are used to eating and helped pick something we would like but maybe a little different. So very friendly and their food was just all amazing.

Food and service were exceptional. Joseph the manager was extremely friendly and informative about our dinner. Should be way way busier. Will be back.

My first visit to this restaurant last night with friends. It is absolutely wonderful. The service was totally on point; warm, friendly, welcoming. The menu is refreshingly different and interesting. When the food arrived we were delighted. So fresh and tasty, it was all fab. A superb drinks menu for after dinner, nice liquers and cognacs etc. This is grown up curry nights. Outstanding, thank you. 👌

Madha has thee best poppadom in the world. You've got to make it a point to dine here. It's relaxed, the staff is laid back and accommodating, and the food is top tier.

This was a new experience for me. Most people who enjoy indian food know that what we are generally served here is not the authentic food of India.It is changed to suit our European palettes. At Madha tonight, it was wonderful to dine on authentic dishes with the accent on Kerala South indian cooking. In the depths of the Merchant city on Albion St. such delights can be found at Madha. Sharing the many flavours was a great idea. The quality of the food and the service were both excellent Our waiter showed much patience and was extremely helpful going through this unfamiliar menu After starters, as a contrast we chose, a mild creamy chicken dish and a medium beef dish both were delicious They were accompanied by Chumba rice which is like brown rice but much fuller and fluffier. This is food to take your time over and really enjoy.Our bread was malabary parotta, a type of Paratha, very light and tasty. Overall an amazing dining experience , different from many other establishments i have dined in.Visit with confidence for a great feast of indian delights with excellent service in a peaceful and tranquil. atmosphere.🤗

We had the Dosa which was spectacular. Highly recommended. Also the vegeterian Thali which was good, but we had better before. Overall very good experience and would definitely go back.

This place was such a treat! They took care of my girlfriend’s food allergies to a tee 🙌🏼 it’s so authentic. I recommend the rasam if you can handle spice!

Just been to Madha,s for my sister in-laws birthday 🎂. Well what can I say. Food was lovely and Joseph the manager was welcoming and explained all our food and spices to suit our pallete. Waiter Daneesh ( sorry if I got the name wrong) was also very efficient and polite. A wee hidden gem that people need to explore you won't be disappointed. It won't be long till I return. Sorry no photos too busy eating and talking lol. Try it you won't be disappointed. 11 out of 10 for me.

Great food, very attentive service. Had the beef Bhuna and the Chicken Makhani both were fantastic. Saw a Dosa on the table next to me, I’m definitely having that the next time I come.

Wasn't sure about the menu items at first as not the usual 'indian" I'm used to and was apprehensive at first. The owner soon came over and introduced himself and talked us through what we were looking for in our meal and very quickly we got our order sorted very easily. The starter was truly an eye-opener into genuine indian cuisine. I was blown away with the flavours in the beef ularthiyathu and the main, lamb nadan addu and the wifes, murg ajari tikka was more of the same. Both simply outstanding 👌🏻. The owner Joseph was first class and a genuinely humble guy who cares about your meal and his staff were in the same illk. It's quite easily the best curry I've ever eaten. Proper traditional food. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely delightful dining experience tonight at Madha Restaurant, Glasgow - the authenticity of the flavors truly shines through in every dish and the service was prompt. I can confidently say that I'll be thinking about the perfectly spiced, succulent Achari Chicken Kebab for a very long time! Will definitely be returning!

Recently visited Madha Indian Restaurant in Glasgow and was thoroughly impressed! The ambience was warm and inviting, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The highlight of my meal was the Irachi Thenga Fry, which was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked! We had an incredible lunch here! The staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable on the menu and happy to make recommendations. Not just the standard selection of dishes but also more authentic and unusual selections. Incredibly good value for money, portions were generous and we had to take some home! Very clear that the food is made fresh and with love and care, all spices toasted fresh, the flavour was great. The garlic naan even had fresh chunky pieces of garlic 😍 we had a fabulous time, will definitely be back soon! A hidden gem in the center.

My go to now for Indian food now in Glasgow. This place is a hidden gem. Best Naan ever had, best rice, best lamb curry ever.

Service was excellent. Food is really overpriced.Especially 6.99GBP for a really small portion of Kappa(Tapioca), i mean really really small portion. You could eat from any other indian restaurants for half the price. But sevice was really good. Tapioca tasted good 4/5 Meen pollichathu 3/5 Porotta and Beef 2/5

The food is delicious but the service is really best. I loved the hospitality there. It was raining heavily the guy (I forgot the name but he was someone from India) helped us out of the way by guiding us and also by serving homely food far from home. We really recommend for Jain and Veg food. The tea he made was same as Indian Masala tea which we get in India that made my day.

Came here a few days ago with my two sons and right from the start we felt incredibly welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble and Joseph even helped us choose our meals so that we had an incredibly authentic taste of India. Everything was beautiful, full of flavour and we were left feeling more than satisfied. My favourite part of the meal was definitely the giant Indian tiger prawns and the mango lassie drink both of which I'd highly recommend but if I'm honest everything we had there was really very nice. Both Joseph and the other lovely young man were very attentive and we'll definitely visit Madha again. 5 stars

Joeseph and Dipesh really looked after us. It was my first time trying South Indian food and was not sure on what to get. Dipesh was very knowledgeable about the cuisine and recommended us a few dishes to dry and it certainly did no disappoint. The flavours of the food and textures was a 10/10 for my buddy and I. We left the restaurant satisfied with the service and food. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in Glasgow city centre.

Highly Over Price, Very small quantity food and Quality Wise not so great. Other Indian restaurants in Glasgow are far better than Madha.

I came in here with a friend and was very surprised! It’s a wee hidden gem. The food was lovely, we shared 3 started and I had their spicy chicken curry! The portions of the starters were great, but the mains were a little on the small side, very tasty nonetheless! Staff were lovely and our waiter was very knowledgeable. He was very pushy on the “upselling” of drinks asking if we wanted another after almost every sip, but I guess that’s the job! Lovely guy though. We had a lovely time here! I will certainly be recommending this to friends.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in all of Scotland! We had a lot of Kerala dishes that are difficult to find elsewhere that were really delicious. Dipesh was super friendly and helpful and made the experience all the more enjoyable.

We discovered this restaurant by chance. The service was extremely good. The map provided an enormously large selection, so that we were initially overwhelmed by the Indian terms. The waiter saw this immediately, came to us, asked about preferences and explained them to us in detail. He then recommended suitable dishes that were prepared quickly and tasted great! I was searching for good Kerala food and I got this restorant, ate Lamb soup, Appam and Chicken stew, it was great, just like the way I was get in Kerala. Manager Joseph is from Kerala and he is soo friendly and very good service. If you are going after 6pm road side parking is free.

The hospitality here was a pleasant surprise. Despite managing a bustling birthday party, the staff provided outstanding service, promptly attending to every request with great care and efficiency. I must recommend the Masala Bhindi and Cholay, which were exceptionally flavorful. And don’t miss out on the in-house made Gulab Jamun – a true delight. This place is amazing! The food was impeccable (we are all vegan and had a full spread) and the wait staff are so kind and answered all our questions. I had the samosa, tofu curry, & paratha and it was incredible. Such a wonderful place to eat! We will be back!

Food was cold and arrived late.

Absolutely lovely dining experience - especially as a vegan!! We stumbled across the place and ended up with two vegan thalis and one meat thali. They did not disappoint! The options themselves, as well as the abundance of knowledge from the staff was amazing. There were even vegan desserts!!! I could not recommend this place more. The next time we are in Glasgow (hopefully soon) we will be back!!!

Place was freezing, and I had to ask to be moved further into restaurant away from door, but it was still freezing. Had to ask for the heating to be turned up.

We stumbled upon Madha after leaving the vegan place we deliberately went to didn't have much to offer. So glad we did. We went for dosa but there's a full vegan menu and, on the advice of our waiter opted to share Idli vada sambar and a Masala dosa. Very pleased with both. Set us up for a day walking along The Clyde. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us tips of where to visit. He was gentle in his persuasion and had the appropriate balance of informing us what was good and not pushing us to add more. This was most appreciated. The restaurant was clean and airy and the lights on the window give a surprisingly good barrier to the street. There is also a huge dining area on the other side of the bar. Very reasonably priced and excellent quality & presentation. Highly recommend and will definitely be back next time we visit Glasgow

Fantastic place to dine out and quality food and service. Celebrated my birthday dinning out here after my friend recommended and was not disappointed in the slightest. Food was delicious, great service and atmosphere. I would highly recommend it.

Great food - I had a tasty aloo channa saag and my friend tandoori chicken. Reasonable prices given the location (and the competition!) USP - is that you can get sambar, dosa etc alongside the Punjabi Indian food that we are so used to in Scotland. Staff are nice too.
