Crispy, golden batter, flaky fish, proper chips – the core components are excellent. The atmosphere is lively, and portions are generous. Importantly, they offer options suitable for Muslim dietary requirements, expanding their accessibility. In short, Bertie's provides a solid, classic fish and chips experience with inclusive options. Recommended. Digestion protocols engaged.

I was there last night with 7 friends and we were seated very quickly. The staff were really nice and friendly. The food was fantastic. The only thing I was kind of disappointed with was there wasn't any Mariachi music playing but can't have everything. To the member of staff with the Supernatural tattoo I have to say Carry on you Wayward Son

An odd one. Stumbled in as no one on the door, or at the concierge desk so had to ask at the bar and was then directed downstairs to wait 5 minutes until restaurant reception arrived. The table and chairs are more setup for a bar than a reasonably expensive restaurant and you’re in the basement so not the best location. Food was good, but small portions especially considering price. An odd one really, I wouldn’t go again

A quiet pub hidden at the back of the square behind Summerhall. A great place to chill out and - ok, check this out: Canadians visiting the city find poutine on the menu and can amazingly state that it is better than many places back home (blasphemy, I know, but it's true) The staff were great and I think I mentioned that the food was, too. We really loved chilling out here one afternoon and highly recommend it.
