Popped in as looked inviting from the outside. Service was friendly, food great and atmosphere very chilled. Will be back when in the area again.

Best local cafe! My boyfriend and I choose to visit here often. Food is good and priced well. Staff are lovely. Sort of people that if you’re lovely to them, they’ll be and are lovely to you. If you’re not, they won’t be either. Always good vibes in there and it’s a small business. Only thing I’d change is the quality of the ketchup.

Coffee ☕️ is really tasty and everything seems very reasonable. My son likes the juice selection..

Rude staff , unaccommodating went in wanted to seat 5 of us all we got is you can't sit there no alternative offered,left very disappointed

Is ok I love the tart with cream puf pastry from today or changed coffee therefore avoid going to the café Noire a changed management and I absolutely do not trust the new one

Staff were nice, just passing and popped in for a coffee, food people were eating looked good and prices. Not posh but clean and comfortable.

Popped in with my son for some lunch. Really nice place with a very continental feel. Outside seating available which was a nice touch. Food was great, arrived quickly and was hot. You order from the counter and your food is brought to you. Really quick service by friendly staff.

Amazing cafe with lovely coffee, food and service

I've walked past this place so many times and never gone in. There's always customer sitting outside eating and drinking but still I've never tried it. With my preferred coffee shop closed on Saturday, I decided to give Madeira a try. And I'm very glad I did. I ordered a chicken salad and coffee. The salad was huge! Plenty of fresh veg and tonnes of chicken in a light dressing that didn't overwhelm. I actually expected the coffee to be more like rocket fuel but was pleasantly surprised. My daughter had a panini of some description with chips. I thought there would be more Portuguese options on the menu but I'm not complaining. Staff were really friendly too.

Love this little place. Food is always cooked fresh and served nice and hot. Latte, as good as the leading brands and the girls that run it are always very friendly. Our " go to " place for a quickie lunch and a lovely Sunday brekkie.

Underrated café, friendly staff, cheap but excellent Brazilian coffee. £1.50 for a flat white. Full of local regulars all day long, and abuzz with Portuguese speakers. Fill up on cheap and tasty omelettes and well-cooked café standards. Next time I will try a pastel de nata-type flaky pastry custard tart...

Very friendly and welcoming Portugese cafe on Hamlet Court Road, and I'm pleased to say they now do soya milk so as a vegan it's nice to be able to get a hot coffee on a cold afternoon!

A clean, well-presented café with a strong Portuguese customer base. Very welcoming, atmospheric, and the food and coffee both of a much better order than you have a right to expect at these prices.

My most favourite Cafe in Westcliff/Southend, been going there for 18 years, love it.

Stopped here just because there were a lot of people sitting outside drinking coffee. Its basically a good clean cafe with very friendly people serving (in my case) fabulous breakfasts amongst other things. Mine was all cooked to order on a hot plate (nothing worse than hot food served up lukewarm). Fab. The coffee was top notch too. Sensible prices. I think it will become a regular stop when I come down to Southend
