Made Up at the Made Inn. We’d visited a vineyard in Kent and our friendly taxi driver suggested we pay a visit to The Made Inn before we headed home. Wow, wow, wow! We were fortunate enough to fall in on an open mic night for musicians. We loved it all. The young man that brought his keyboard with him silenced the heaving clientele with a beautiful medley of classical and contemporary pieces which frankly left the audience choked and appreciative. 5 stars for the pub, the staff, the brilliant music, and the friendly punters.

Had a couple of drinks in here the other day and was a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Beer was great if a little pricey but I don’t mind paying that little bit more for something different.

Bigger and better choice of beers following a refit during the pandemic, made great efforts to keep open wherever covid regs allowed but never at the expense of compliance with those regs, still the same great group of people. Recent tie-in with independent restaurant means you can now get bar snacks and food delivered while still supporting local business and small producers and is the cherry on the cake. Heavily recommended.

I visited the Made Inn on foot a few weeks ago, as I'd heard that if you enjoy real ale, this is the place to go. I honestly thought it was an overpriced joke. I walked in, and got a strange look from some local stalwart customers. A man behind the bar (whom I assume was the landlord) asked what I'd like to drink. I said I'd like a traditional, English bitter. Something like a Greene King IPA, or a Wells Bombardier, maybe Youngs, or Adnams. Something like that. Well, the man looked at me as if I had three heads, and said "Mmm, the closest thing you'll get to that is a .......(a name I can't remember. )" I thought this was odd, considering there were about 300 different beers available, displayed on a computer monitor, but thought he must know his beers, so I took his advice. I shouldn't have done. The beer, yet again, tasted sharply of citrus, like they all do these days. Why do all so called real ales not taste of real ale any more? What happened to the more traditional flavours like Abbot Ale? To top it off, I was charged £6.00 for my pint, which is extortion at its worst. I felt as though the landlord was disinterested in my request, which was odd considering the Made Inn specialises in real ale. I went to Wetherspoon a few hundred yards down the high street, and ordered a Ruddles Best ale for £1.69, (no, that's not a misprint) and it was much better. I then had a John Smiths for £1.39, which is something else the Made Inn doesn't offer. I honestly don't know why the Made Inn is rated so highly.

Excellent bar in Ashford. Amazing selection of great beers, knowledgeable staff. The owner (didn’t catch his name) is one of the nicest blokes you’ll meet, making the experience all that much better. If you happen to be in Ashford, it would be rude not to stop in for a pint or five.

Lovely little micropub, with great beer options and always perfectly presented. Prices are high if you're used to 'Spoons, but are not in context of good quality craft, and certainly not if you're used to London prices! Best thing is the clientele; with a strong "regulars" vibe, a warm welcome is pretty much assured and as such, it has much of the feel of an old "locals" pub; you know, the sort that have largely disappeared across the UK in the last 10 years. I've only recently discovered the pub but I now find myself tempted towards it after work, even though it's in the opposite direction to my house. Top.

I like micropubs and have been to many. In fact I always hunt them out whenever I visit a town. This one didn't disappoint. However the prices (for me) seemed a bit on the steep side. The owner explained that the majority of the beers were (key) keg and so were always going to be more expensive. With the 1050 from Victoria in Strood pegging their beers at £3, I couldn't see why the preference was for key keg beers at almost £5. The beer was spot on, and the conversation with the owner interesting. I little bit larger than you average micro, with a room upstairs as well as out the back plis a small yard. I'd be more than happy to visit again.

At last.....Ashford is finally getting some decent places to drink and you won’t be disappointed with a visit to the Made Inn. A great choice of local drinks, something for everyone. Didn’t have food but what they offer looks good. An intimate venue with a friendly bar man who has a great knowledge of the drinks on offer.

Looking for somewhere decent in Ashford to enjoy a drink? If you stumble upon this place keep walking. A really poor attempt at retro chic it just doesn't work. The beer is pretty good but real ale does attract some weird sorts. They do serve wine and it was labelled as 'organic English' probably to justify the £8.50 a glass price tag - yep £8.50 Mayfair has come to to Ashford! So the conclusion, snog, marry , avoid? Stay in and wash your hair

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Ashford doesn't have a decent pub in the town centre, until now. This is a micro pub with proper bar snacks; all beers and food locally sourced from Kent and Sussex. Made Inn looks tiny from outside, but has a larger room hidden behind the bar and an enclosed beer garden. The decor is unlikely to be rolled out like the Farrow and Ball-isation of most gastro pubs, but it would look at home in any up and coming London inner city area, and that is meant as a compliment. This is not the usual Ashford pub.We made the mistake of being there when the beers had just been tapped, so not a full selection, but the Whitstable brewery ruby beer I had was a great session beer and I look forward to seeing some old favourites in the future.I don't do gin - a horrendous young adult experience - but there is a huge selection, and for the lager drinkers among you, a real treat; proper English, not Continental, brewed lager. There is decent, seemingly chosen - NOT "curated" - music (Led Zepp, Thin Lizzy and other proper 70's bands), live bands, quizzes, a formal code of conduct, and a friendly, engaging and erudite publican. What's not to like. One word of warning. There are two chilli plants in the beer garden. My fault for reverting to my stupid youth, but I tried one of the small red chillies. DON'T. These are seriously hot, on the Scotch Bonnet end of the scoville scale, and I wish I had had enough humility to ask for milk afterwards, but I had to drink a pint of milk when I got home. This is going to be my Ashford local. It's great. Go there.

Popped in to see what this place was like yesterday evening. There was a small jazz band playing which was very nice although the place is very small so it was difficult to hear each other speak. Good selection of gins. Overall a nice place... I'm sure I'll go back

I walked the entire length of Ashford this afternoon, trying to find somewhere which served decent beer, decent food and wasn't full of drunken chavs shouting at each other (bearing in mind this was a Friday afternoon so the great unwashed were in frivolous mood) when, nearing the point of giving up and bemoaning the state of my hometown, I chance upon this place. I work in London all week and maybe this has tainted my view but I just want good service, a beer with flavour, and food which has had some thought applied to it - rather than the standard offerings which are doled out in most of this town's establishments. The owner of the Made Inn obviously felt that it was time for a change as well, and this is reflected in the range of beers (small but well-chosen; quality over quantity works for me) and the lovingly crafted sandwiches - my bacon and sausage sourdough was very substantial, and the meat was both plentiful and high quality. The rustic, no-nonsense interior demonstrate the the Made Inn is concentrating on what's important - customer service, good wholesome food, and decent beer, and it will be getting a lot more of my custom. I only hope there are enough people in Ashford who appreciate this place and give it their business. Good work Steve, keep it up!

A walk into town and stumbled upon this gem of a micro pub eatery. Owner was very friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome.Drinks made locally were delicious and at a reasonable price. Decor is basic, but clean and it’s not saying it’s something it not.Highly recommended and will return to sample the food.

I would swear this Inn had read my mind for it's food offer, it is an excellent place to stop for lunch. The decor and food are unfussy just good, simple and appealing. I particularly enjoyed the colourful side salad and can't wait to return and work my way through the rest of the menu.A friendly welcome and a very product- knowledgeable owner is a good combination especially when the offer is locally sourced.

We made a spontaneous visit to the Made Inn Artisan Eatery today as we happened to be passing. Our first impression was that it was much bigger on the inside than it looks from outside. There is a decent sized eating area at the back of the café and a lovely courtyard garden, where we had lunch in the sunshine. The owner was really polite and helpful, explaining where they source their products (almost totally from Kent). They even recycle their waste via a locally based company. The sour dough sandwiches were amazing (they cater for a variety of dietary requirements, including vegan) and the coffee was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be back.

Saturday night and it was very very quiet. There's a good choice of drinks here and the music playing suited us very well. However, the price of a round seemed rather high and the food menu was similarly priced.

One of the very best Sunday lunches I have experienced. Served piping hot and with a smile from our server. Beef was generous and left pink in the middle, great Yorkshires crisp on the out side but soft and tasty in the middle. Fantastic choice of vegetables roasted parsnips, red cabbage, cauliflower in white sauce and a side bowl of cabbage, broccoli and green beans. Roast potatoes were perfect for us crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Thick, tasty gravy and lots of it. Just a great and memorable lunch. Good selection of wine by the glass and beers. Staff are all smiles, efficient and charming. Instead of the beef my wife tried the vegetarian option and declared great alternative!

We had a very good meal at The George at Molash; we were welcomed on arrival and shown to our table, the service was very efficient and the waitresses were professional but also friendly. They looked after us superbly. We chose our meals and these took a little time to come out but we were not worried about this as we were chatting and food was cooked freshly to order. Other tables were informed about a wait for some foods as they were cooked freshly to order. This didn’t affect us too much as we ate quite early - table was booked for 6.30pm. The pub was very clean and tidy. The portions were good - for both dinner and we had a dessert. We finished the evening with herbal teas and were shown a selection to choose from. Overall we had a very nice evening at The George, and had good food, service and atmosphere.

After a long period of absence we went for drinks here on Christmas Eve. Not a single pump was working and a small bottle of Peroni and an equally small (and disgusting) bottle of Prosecco was charged at £10! The manager was overheard telling another punter that they were “running down the stock” which translates to “we’re going to be closing soon”. Such a shame - this used to be an amazing pub years ago. Mis-management has led to the state it is now in. Bring back the former owners.
