MacKenzie's Whisky Bar in Liverpool

My twin brother Stephen and I joined friends in Mackenzie's Whiskey Bar to celebrate a friends 40th birthday and what a great time we had. A great looking bar ,interior is superb ,a cool looking serving bar ,wonderful decor and furnishings ,love the paintings on the walls ,big screens to enjoy the sport and there's lots of seating options ,it's just a great bar to unwind in. On our visit staff were superb ,looked after our group ,I stayed on guinness which was absolutely delicious , I also enjoyed some great craft beers ,all our group were well looked after ,beers were kept flowing ,had a great time in here . Mackenzie's Whisky Bar is easy to locate along Rodney Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Mi hermano gemelo Stephen y yo estábamos en bares y pubs en esta parte de Liverpool cuando decidimos pasar por el Whisky Bar de Mackenzie, un bar en el que siempre solemos pasar. Me encanta el aspecto de este bar, la sala principal está dominada por una barra de servicio de madera maciza, una decoración y muebles opulentos, increíbles obras de arte que adornan las paredes, televisores y pantallas grandes para disfrutar del deporte y muchas opciones de asientos repartidas por todo este bar. por dentro y por fuera en su fresco jardín de cerveza, es un gran pub para relajarse. Mi hermano y yo estuvimos aquí un jueves por la tarde, pedimos una cerveza cada uno, optamos por una cerveza Staropramen cada uno, estos se sirvieron en excelentes condiciones, estaban helados y espumosos y simplemente nos relajamos y disfrutamos del gran bar en el que estábamos . Mi cerveza fue excepcional, realmente disfruto la cerveza Staropramen, esta deliciosa cerveza de la República Checa es una cerveza de estilo lager tan ligera, lupulada y sin pretensiones, llena de sabor, muy fácil de beber, un estilo de cerveza que tanto yo como mi hermano gemelo Stephen somos particularmente aficionado. Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestras cervezas aquí y aunque nuestra visita fue solo fugaz como en todas las demás visitas aquí, lo pasamos muy bien. El Whisky Bar de Mackenzie es fácil de localizar a lo largo de Rodney Street. Los horarios de apertura son; Lunes a jueves, mediodía hasta las 23 h. Viernes y sábado, desde el mediodía hasta las 2 a. M. Domingo, mediodía hasta las 23 h. Un gran bar, si estás en la zona, definitivamente vale la pena visitarlo.

Llamé a mi esposa después de un paseo por las tiendas. Tuvimos un domingo asado fantástico, me habían recomendado este lugar para un asado por amigos, había visto las críticas y sin duda estuvo a la altura de las expectativas, gran calidad, buen tamaño y gran relación calidad-precio. La única queja leve fue el servicio un poco carente de atención al detalle.

Mi esposa y yo realmente disfrutamos del whisky, así que tomamos la caminata a través de Liverpool para ver especialmente este lugar. El personal del bar nos informó que en esta época del año no mucha gente está bebiendo whisky, de ahí la selección reducida. Esta fue solo 2 estantes para elegir, con la mitad del estante superior ocupado por la serie "Game of Thrones", que estaban allí solo para exhibir y no estaban disponibles para tener una copita, lo que parecía extraño. La cerveza estaba bien, el restaurante tiene algunas fotos geniales y el personal era amable. Simplemente dar la mala puntuación por la mala y limitada elección de whiskys, y no poder probar el GOT, para un pub que se vende como una barra de whisky. Una ventaja es que acepta perros.

Went here last Sunday to try their Sunday Roasts as it is nominated as one of the best Sunday Roasts in town, and also they held football match screening, perfect Sunday! So we got 2course Sunday set and we both chose appetiser & main, I got deep fried halloumi with Greek salad & beef roasts, while my boyfriend got salt and pepper chicken & lamb roasts. Surprisingly the appetisers look so fine aesthetically and taste also really good! But the bomb is the Sunday roasts, every component on the dish is soo good! Best part is the stuffing, very flavorful and well seasoned. Roasted potatoes are also so good, def taste homemade and freshly from the oven. The only downside is the beef, its quite tough and rubbery :/

Visited here today for a family birthday meal. We all had the Sunday Roast and all plates were empty at the end, everyone really enjoyed the food. Very attentive service without being overwhelming, I tried the Liverpool Organic Ale and it was a nice pint. We opted for desserts instead of starters and I can highly recommend the Creamed Rice Pudding. Would return here without hesitation.

Went here for Sunday lunch with the wife on a recommendation, and what a place ! We were given a table right next to the log fire , as the waitress could see we where soaked wet through as it was teeming down outside , and straight away asked if we would like drinks , i enquired about the whiskeys on offer and the waitress asked did I have a preference ? I like Irish so she recommended the old pulteney at £7 , and it surely did warm me up ! I also like wheat beer which they had on draught a weihenstephan , a beautiful beer with a lovely banana finish. We were given the Sunday lunch menu and selected the duck to start , a mix of meat , pork , beef turkey roast , and sticky toffee pudding . We didn’t wait long before the starter arrived and it Was delicious, a braised leg served on pak Choi With.a soy and honey sauce , amazing ! Then the roast arrived , and wow it was big , loads of great big proper roasties and Yorkshire puds ! And two proper gravy boats !! Heaven on a plate ! All the meats where cooked properly, but I regretted not just having the Beef as it was amazing ! I didn’t think I would finish it but it was so nice ! Then after a breather the desert arrived Sticky toffee pudding and cream and Ice cream ! Proper old school steamed pudding with loads of toffee sauce , amazing value @16.99 We will definitely return !!!!

Fantastic starters and main course lovely even had just enough room for a pudding lovely staff who are friendly and welcoming.

We were looking for somewhere to have a Sunday roast and I remembered being told that MacKenzie's was worth a try. Our booking was for 4.30 in the afternoon and when we arrived we were served drinks at the bar and seated at our table quickly enough. There were plenty of people around but it wasn't packed solid. We were were given the menus with the choice of roasts for the day and the first disappointing thing was that the vegetarian choice was a mushroom omelette. Vegetarians like a roast dinner too and the website had said to ask, there would always be a veggie choice. Well the choice was an omelette so I decided to just have the roast without the meat. The other 5 in our party ordered beef or pork as per the menu. A few minutes later the waiter came back with the second disappointment, there was no beef, pork or turkey and the only roast left was chicken, so without a choice or time to go elsewhere because my sister had a train to catch in a couple of hours, everyone else went with the chicken. I think at this point someone from the kitchen was dispatched to the local supermarket to go and buy some chicken breasts. We gave no indication we were in a particular hurry and were happy to sit and chat while the food was prepared. The waiter however seemed quite agitated and kept coming to the table to give us a blow by blow account of where the food was up to and for us not to be worried, 'just 10 minutes guys, don't worry', 'less than 5 minutes now guys', 'the food is being plated now'. We hadn't been worried but this started alarm bells ringing as we wondered what the issue was that required such regular updates. We found out when the food eventually arrived, it was just about edible but that's really all that can be said about it. The 'legendary' roast dinner was a chicken breast, some burned roasted potatoes and two spoons of veg (cabbage & carrot turnip mash) with some gravy all served up on cold plates. Dessert was no better. Cheesecake was off. The ice cream sundae was 2 scoops in a tumbler glass with some apricot sauce (note to chef - this doesn't go and it wasn't a sundae). We finished up, paid and left. We won't be going back and our search for a really good roast dinner in Liverpool continues. I understand that on roast days it is difficult to cater for numbers. I understand that sometimes in a restaurant things run out. I also understand that you might not want to turn customers away. But to take our booking of a table for 6 and not be able to provide any of what was on the menu was unacceptable. It's always better to be honest up front, we might have decided to go for a pizza or burger instead of sitting down to this poor effort. I've given 2 stars because we ate the food that was served and that's why the second star, but really .....

We went there for a quick lunch and a drink. The staff was very nice and helpful. We order a couple of sandwiches and a salad. I strongly recommend BLC sandwich, despite I would need a bit more quantity!!
