Truly and unapologetically awful. Grumpy 'barista' served two cold (expensive) coffees. Took back. No apology. They said "thays hoe the machine is". Served two tepid coffees. Omelette ap-omelette tasted weeks old-no flavour, no seasoning. Would say avoid-but Hobsons choice this side of Silverlink. M and S-sort yourselves out or go the way of Woolies, Timothy Whites to retail oblivion. Expensive and poor is not a good look.

Went to m and s Ashton cafe Saturday 20 January .waited 20 minutes in a queue to purchase 1 coffee. Nobody else seem to mind the wait in the queue but when seated with friend/ companions ,they complained to each other. 3 Staff were young chatting to each other ,wiping hands over face , nose and serving food. I complained to floor manager and told the cafe had no manager ,...they were struggling with staff. That is not my fault .. Sort it out m and s. Not going again...

Absolutely terrible. Tables not cleared. Waited about half an hour for food. Had to send back jacket potatoes as they weren't cooked. No serviettes no water. Won't be going back. Certainly won't recommend.

Thought we would have some lunch at M&S longbridge, wish I hadn't bothered. Ordered two jacket potatoes one cheese and one mixed chilli beans. Sat down waited a while for our food drinking our hot drinks when one of the staff came over to say they had no chilli beans this was literally the begin of the lunch time service just after 12. I said OK I'll have the cheese one. The server later bought out one cheese jacket potato and seemed unaware we'd ordered two. A little later received mine no butter, no salad dressing on the salad, well I say salad a few bits of rocket and a few baby plum tomatoes. All very dry and unappetising. Don't think I'll be going there for food in a hurry

Really disappointed. Late lunch of sausage ciabata & bowl of chips. Ciabata was dry & hard with shrivelled sausages and chips were pale & limp. Wasn't even given a saucer with my teacup!!!!! Not the M&S of old!!!!

Absolutely awful! Very rude staff, a waitress called Maria told us they were closed until another waitress had to interrupt to say they were open another hour. She then proceeded to refuse to serve us so I had to go and get another waitress to put our order through. The cafe was filth, most tables dirty and floor filthy with food. After going through all that the coffee seemed watered down and we ended up leaving it. will never return, they don’t want our custom anyway!!

A simple order of 1 bowl of soup and a toasted teacake, took 25 minutes to be served at a time when the cafe was only about half full. .A numbered electronic device is supposed to assist in guiding the waitress to the table. After 20 minutes we went back to the counter, to be told that the electronic devices doesn't always work. My cold toasted teacake was lovely when it eventually arrived but was sent back and needed to be reheated.( another 5 minutes). Shambolic!

Called in for a hit drink and breakfast. They had no sausage sandwiches, so my husband ordered a bacon ciabstta roll. I ordered the all-day breakfast wrap. Initially, they said these were sold out, but then found a delivery. We sat down with our hot drinks and our food arrived swifty..no issue with the service. But after one bite I was disappointed to find a spicy salsa type sauce in the wrap. I have an intolerance to peppers and onions, I didn't ask as I really did not expect breakfast wrap to contain such ingredients. My lovely husband swapped so I had a lovely bacon ciabata roll and he ate my wrap. He likes salsa but even he was not very complimentary about it! The Sausages were horrible the egg was set and the salsa style says was just horrible. So disappointed and concerned about others with food intolerance too!! Come on M&S this not right!? Give the all day breakfast wrap a miss!

M&S, not just desserts, devilishly good desserts! Light, fluffy, moist, melt-in-the -mouth....mmm, what more could you want from an oral delight, Mary Berry would faint😊. The lattes were perfectly balanced, coffe with the barest hint of acidity, made velvety smooth with milk. Coming again...certainly. Well done M&S you are so worth it👍

My hubby and I recently popped in to M&S cafe on a shopping trip to the Silverlink branch. My hubby was having a bit of a diabetic wobble and needed something quick to stabilise his sugars and the staff where really helpful. We both had a toastie, I had tuna, cheese and spring onion which was super yummy, The staff where so helpful and friendly and the lady who served us was super helpful explaining about the perks of scanning our Sparks card in the cafe. We will definitely be back.

Probably the slowest coffee shop ever.. The girl on the till must have been off when they did the customer service training. Sunday afternoon and the store was really busy, two staff behind the till one serving and the other making coffee. They couldn't have gone any slower if they tried... The cake stand was nearly empty. no plates and no organisation at all.... Just Terrible,,,

It's a café. Cold fare, cakes and biscuits with coffee/tea. However it is set up to be the slowest coffee bar I have EVER been to, and believe me I've been to hundreds. 3 pm on a Wednesday afternoon and they have the only café on the site and the queue is out into the ladies department. Two staff, one taking orders and cash, the other operating the coffee machine. I understand that the modern coffee machine is not designed for speed, but the process of making is not really the question. I visit coffee bars, pubs and even supermarkets that have machines which produce coffee that tastes just as good in less than half the time. Come on M&S do some research. There has to be a better way.

M&S Café is fine if you're out and about shopping at the Silverlink Retail Park and want to stop for a sandwich, soup or hot drinks. But it is quite pricey compared to some of the other coffee shops dotted in and around the park.Food is always nice, well presented, and the staff are very helpful which is ace.

The food hall is full of gluten free choices but the cafe won’t provide anything. Not even scrambled eggs because “it’s an open kitchen so we can’t sell you anything”. It’s not nice being treated like an idiot either “bread isn’t gluten free” - kind of knew that already. Very poor show M&S - so many places deliver gluten free now, with the minimum of fuss.

This cafe is quite small for the numbers of people who visit this store. Whilst shopping for clothes and cards, my mother and I decided some refreshments were needed, so we went for a cup of tea and a scone each, which were lovely. The service was okay - not particularly remarkable or bad either, but it was very busy and the price was pretty reasonable. We got ourselves a table with only a short wait.

I have asked that the freezing aircon where your hot drinks or food are blown to tepid and you as the paying customer keep your outdoor gear on, be switched off on a number of occasions. Reasons / excuses why it can't be incl :- only a manager at head office can change it- it can't be turned off / has to be coldPull yourselves together M&S. you are being way too smug and not putting yourselves in the customers' shoes - and we pay the wages!!

The only virtue in this cafe's coffee is that it claims to be fairtrade. Americano is weak and watery. Would have had a flat white but again it is served in a bucket rather than a 6 oz cup. Found pain au raisin to be bit too greasy.

It's Saturday, 2:30pm and admittedly busy at the shops. Therefore the cafe was busy, though still easy to find a table. Having gone through the whole ordering process it was then we were told, "sorry we're busy so it will be 20 mins before we can toast your sandwich". It then took 10mins to find a manager to give a refund! RUBISH service and why staff a cafe that can't manage busy. Surly it's no surprise that Saturday afternoon they will be busy! We were not in the minority, there were many disgruntled customers and a stream at the till asking about the orders.

Visited here last Thursday for a coffee. Since being refurbished it is slightly bigger and a nice coffee shop atmosphere but that is where it ends. I ordered a large skinny latte and when it came it was hot but not that hot and can only be described as a likeness to dishwater. Also I was very surprised to see the saucer it was standing on had seen much better days and would not look out of place at a car boot sale all faded and scratched. The complimentary biscuit you get must have ran out and there was an offering of a broken biscuit at the side of the saucer. Did not enjoy the coffee at all and left most of it. Certainly not what you would expect from M & S..........very disappointing.
