Afternoon tea at Lytham Hall was excellent. After a tour of the hall where Denise gave us lots of interesting facts about the Clifton family we went for afternoon tea. What a great experience. Simon was the perfect host with Angela attending on us very diligently. Food was fabulous, surroundings were refined and experience was excellent. Thanks for giving us an exceptional experience.

Can't rate this place as a restaurant, it is a cafe at best. The food is very average and staff are not very happy. It is a shame that the cafe is not better. If it was in the centre of Lytham.it would not survive.

Wow! What a brilliant meal we had today. Two of us had vegan chcken burger, I had vegan cottage pie. The food was awesome, soooooo good! Really fantastic value, everything about it was superb. And they had jack rabbit vegan wine which was the icing on the cake! All this in such a beautiful setting.... lovely. And a huge shout out to the team looking after us today. Exceptional customer service, we simply could not have been better catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. And so friendly and welcoming too. Thank you Linda, Clare, Mia, Abbey & Adam - you have this 'customer care' thing absolutely nailed. Highly recommended 👌

Was disappointed that tables are not cleaned and staff do not carry out this task every time a table is cleared. Both our table and the one next to it contained crumbs but no effort to clean them. Food very dated and probably suits an elderly demographic. Had hot beef and onion which was served on a white barm cake. Had many better elsewhere and very basic. Not asked if any sauces could be provided and very 1990’s. Would have been better if slightly toasted and some gravy added with better quality bread used. All in all very average and not a venue I would return to as not very hygienic and this is a minimum standard that I look for.

12.11.23 Interesting old hall plus lovely grounds but the cafe is disappointing.Today it was like Crufts with some dogs barking, sitting on the chairs, sniffing around ,some not on leads. One couple nearby had three large damp, smelly dogs.,heads on the table. Not ideal if you are having a meal, plus there are hygiene issues. I accept that if you love dogs/have a dog it might suit. Its not for us . Note that we were in the cafe ,not the main hall (not sure of the dogs policy in there).

I have been to the cafe here a few times now, both before and after social distance measures. The really great thing about having a tea break here is that it is perfectly possible to do this in a safe socially distanced way. The cafe has a delightful courtyard with tables under cover, whilst also being outside. It is sheltered, too.The crockery is attractive vintage, which is in keeping with the character of the place. Food is ok and thee cafe has done the half price eat in Covid offer. Vegan cakes and biscuits are scarce. Despite them claiming to have a vegan option, I have never encountered one. The only savoury option is a sausage sandwich - which is a poor offering. Come on Lytham Hall - get with the programme. Buy a Bosh book and make an effort!Value for money? It would be better if a pot of tea for two was slightly less than a pot of tea for one x 2. However, the new car parking costs pump up the overall spend at the Hall, so you might be better off at Costa down the road. Don't rely on Lytham Hall having free disabled spaces either, there is only room for 4 or so cars - and they are all filled now the carpark charges.

Lytham Hall is stunning and the grounds and gardens are well worth the £1 to park and explore. The cafe is in a pleasant spot within the courtyards at the back of the Hall, you can either sit inside, out in a walled quadrangle, or on picnic tables in the garden in the front. The food and cakes are well prepared. We had chocolate cake at our latest visit and the portions were good and tasty enough. Usual range of hot and cold drinks at typical prices for these sorts of places. The menu is more limited than it used to be before lock-down, when there used to be more daily specials available, but hopefully this is on a temporary limitation. Enjoyed our visit.

Lovely walk round the grounds of Lytham Hall with the dog followed by breakfast .The cafe had a lovely atmosphere and was busy but with a nice vibe of people and well behaved dogs .My husband had kippers and I had poached eggs on toast .Both dishes were delicious and piping hot . Staff were very friendly and efficient .Reasonably priced for the quality of food . There is an option to eat outside as well when the weather heats up .After eating we had a look round the plants that are for sale just outside the cafe .All in all a very enjoyable morning and we will be back .

Lytham Hall is very close to the train station although it's a fairly long walk from the gates up to the house. The building is beautiful and tours are available although we didn't do one on this visit. We did however visit the cafe which was very cosy and welcoming. There are many choices for tea and cakes and also a good selection of lunchtime dishes. Everything looked fab although we just had a cake and tea. Staff were also very friendly and we'll definitely be back.

We live on the doorstep of Lytham Hall and know the listed building very well. However, today was our first visit to the tea room. We had to pay £1 per person to go through the main gates to get to the tea room. Upon entering the tea room, finding a clean table and sitting down, a pushy lady came selling raffle tickets for upkeep of the Hall for £1 each. We ordered a pot of tea for 4 persons. It was hot and good, served quickly in fine bone china, no complaints. Our food order came soon afterwards, 2 x jacket potatoes with prawns and salad garnish. Potatoes were only just warm. Garnish included a thin slice of orange, we asked for a wedge of lemon and it came. Waiter returned saying no more beef burgers, so order changed to pork burger. This was poor quality and not freshly cooked to order, tasted warmed up. Finally the fish pie, looked nice but tasted average. Mostly mashed potatoes and not much fish, served with more new potatoes and baby corn which was over cooked. We didn't bother with deserts, saw the table opposite with scones that looked dry. Prices were reasonable for Lytham, I suppose. But add on the gate entrance and raffle tickets. The food did not match the surroundings, which is a dreadful shame. The serving staff need to smile more too. We were all disappointed.

Today (Monday) , sunny , pleasantly warm . Busy but certainly not packed! (Goodness knows what the cafe is like at weekends and special events!) Enjoyed an hour just walking around the ever improving grounds and all that’s on offer to enjoy! Lovely clean toilets, super plants on sale, really pleasant lady dealing with plant sales! Antique shop closed ... not open every day apparentlyPiggeries closed. Time for lunch? Two hungry children plus two adults. Sat outside at one of the picnic benches And sat... and sat... 1 1/2 hours later we had still not had our order brought out! It was two basic sandwiches!!! Nothing complex ! Forced to ask for refund. Seriously couldn’t wait any longer! Refund handed over without a comment! Is that an acceptable situation!!! What is going on Lytham Hall? Do you intend letting this dreadful situation spoil all your hard work in breathing life back into the grand old lady? Pretty sure Violet Clifton certainly would NOT have accepted this shoddy situation!!

Went to the evening do after the wedding they served lamb hot pot. I sat down with my plate of hot pot (Lamb) took a spoonful and found it rather sweet. I had to investigate as to what I actually put in my mouth. I found carrots and potatoes cut very small then I found what looked like chicken pellets! Low and behold it was quorn they had used! NO Lamb was used in the hot pot. Apparently the afternoon tea that they had after the wedding wasn’t up to much so beware of Lytham Hall if your thinking about having your wedding there! Visited Lytham Hall - what a stunning gem of a building. It was a lovely day so we wandered round the well-stocked and well-presented plant hub before deciding to treat ourselves to coffee and cake. What a disappointment. The tearooms are lovely: a quirky mixture of furniture and vintage crockery. It wasn't busy and I was soon served by the most miserable youngish man to ever work behind a counter: no smile, no greeting, no "What would you like?" Before I'd even finished ordering our drinks, he'd turned round and started to put a cup under the coffee machine. At that point, an equally unfriendly young lady got the cakes I ordered. Both proceeded to stack up my try until it was precariously loaded with hot drinks and food. When I paid, there was no please/thank you/smile or anything. As I was doing so, a lady from another table approached the counter with a tray full of dirty crockery and said "I've cleared these for you." but there was barely any acknowledgement from the staff. This was in complete contrast to the lovely member of staff serving and helping at the plant hub who couldn't do enough for us.The cake (chocolate and ginger) was quite nice, reasonably priced and a decent portion. The coffee (latte) was bitter; I'm not sure what beans are used but it was pretty nasty and I left most of it.I doubt we'll be back which is a shame as Lytham Hall is such a lovely venue to while away a few hours...

I was scalded by boiling water due to the queue for orders and drinks which causes a bottle neck through small door/ corridor to outdoors. The manager did not seem interested, what if this was a child?! From the outside door to the cafe there is about 4 steps. There is a combination of children and dogs entering and leaving. I feel the serving counter needs relocation or queue from the opposite side? Waitress service would be much better as the area outside is lovely. I had 2 visits today, the first I cleared tables as a favour and the second visit tables were once again stacking up with used crockery. I have visited before ( im a local not a tourist) and similar issue of queues out of the door.

Haven't been here before so it was a nice surprise on a warm, sunny spring day. The tearoom is spacious with lots of tables (which were all full). We ordered a 6oz burger and salad and a pulled pork barm from the specials board. I was surprised the burger was under 'light bites and snacks' as the portion was huge! Really enjoyed the burger, the fresh barm cake, cheese and relish. I would have perhaps served the relish seperately though. Dad said his pulled pork barmcake was lovely and again this was served with plenty of salad with a good dressing. I thought the menu had some great options and was really surprised by the competitive pricing for the size and quality of the portions. I also enjoyed walking around the garden areas. Plenty of parking and dog friendly too. We'll definitely return. Well done Lytham Hall.

Visited the Winter Art exhibition on Sunday and went into the tea room for some lunch. Was met with a look that can only be called a sneer by the lady I ordered food from. While we were eating another lady came over to our table and started shuffling things around and said, “I’ll have to put some other people on this table.” This was very strange behaviour as there were other tables available and she made an assumption that we would mind being joined! She made this assumption based on nothing and we certainly wouldn’t have minded being joined on the table. To add insult to injury, the same lady walked around selling raffle tickets, I knew I didn’t have any change so decided I would buy £5 worth BUT said lady didn’t come to our table but visited every other! The food was bland and the welcome lacking.I was looking forward to my visit to the hall and thought it would become a regular haunt...I don’t thinks so now.

Visited on a rare family day together. Not one of our party of six enjoyed their food. Large lump of chicken on salad was totally inedible and even sandwiches were poor with seemingly cheap ingredients. When I asked if they had gluten free bread for one member of our party, you’d have thought I was asking for the earth. A tiny cafe we sometimes visit always has some gluten free bread in the freezer but then small owner-run cafes are usually best.Might be OK for a tea or coffee and a cake but, if our experience is anything to go by, not good for lunch.

We have been going to this cafe for a while but have noticed more and more dogs! This last visit was something of a disaster. Our party went over to a table on the long wall near the window but as one person went round the table there was an unseen bowl of water next to the wall. They caught the edge of this dog bowl and promptly filled their shoe with water. This was laughed off to a degree but once we were seated the next table was occupied by a dog owner. This was a large long haired dog that smelt a lot. It proceeded to stretch out and was quiet an obstacle especially to pensioners. Because of this we finished our coffees and instead of having lunch the six of us left and went to Weatherspoons for lunch. When we left there were four dogs in the cafe. The 'dog friendly' attitude cost the cafe dearly, to the tune of £70. We will think long and hard before we visit again.

I counted 6 large dogs so be aware if you don't like dogs that they are likely to be there. We had the lamb hot pot and felt it wasn't value for money. The vegetables were tasty as was the red cabbage. However, the portion of lamb mince was miniscule. It just about covered the bottom of the container it was served in. We thought we had got there early at 11.50am, but it was packed, a good sign! We found a table however, and sat down with our dog, noting there were many others. This is not just a tea room, or a restaurant, it is a lovely cafe, with a cracking menu. We wanted a light lunch, so we went for a prawn sandwich with the Marie Rose sauce, and a cheese and pickle sandwich. both were served with a lovely fresh salad with a wonderful dressing, but they were huge!!!! I had a freshly ground coffee, and my Wife had a green tea. We really did eat like royalty, and it came to less than £15.00. Service was impeccable too. Entry to the grounds is free Monday to Friday, with a small charge at weekend. The meal sets you up for a fantastic walk around the grounds, mostly on firm footpaths, and in January to March the 'show' of the Snow Drops is a delight. A 'must do' if you are near Lytham.

We visited the Hall last Saturday for a walk around the grounds and a quick bite to eat in the tearooms. My daughter had the quiche which was ok, but I had the shrimps which were a bit underwhelming to say the least. It was presented well - although potted shrimps shouldn't need marie rose sauce. Unfortunately the shrimps themselves were pretty tasteless and the 2 slices of wholemeal bread had virtually no butter on them - I'm talking a thin scraping across the middle. It just seemed so penny pinching and I'm pretty sure the chef/cook would not have prepared anything like that had it been for his own consumption at home. Drinks were fine and they looked after us really well, it was just so disappointing that with a bit more effort it could have been so much better.

After seeing a board advertising afternoon tea being served inside the hall Thursdays/Fridays, I decided to take my Mother as a treat. It was served just inside Lytham Hall, on the right, in a room which was apparently the Old Library. There were several tables full and an old gramaphone playing music to add to the atmosphere. The food is prepared freshly in the tearooms, and served on traditional fine bone china, very pretty. The lady immediately brought us a pot of tea and gave my Mum a cushion, ensuring her comfort. There was a selection of finger sandwiches, a mini smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese, garnished with a green salad and crisps. Sweets consisted of a scone, clotted cream & jam, tiny cream filled pastry, carrot and ginger cake and an iced bakewell tart. All on individual cake stands. We couldn't quite finish the cakes, and were given bags to take them home. The ladies are all volunteers of Lytham Hall, really kind and attentive. Everything was lovely, cakes and scones light and delicious.A nice change in an unusual setting. Definately worth a visit. Take a sweater, as could be a tiny bit chilly on a cooler day.

We live locally and popped in for a brew. Pleasant café with friendly staff. Have to be honest, my scone was a bit dry and ordinary but hubby was happy enough with his cake. Lovely location and room for a stroll/explore.

I am lucky enough to live within walking distance of this great place. Customer service is great and its superb value for money. I have two dogs and it's great that I can take them in there with me if I want to break up our walk.

Parents and I came for lunch last week. Service with a smile. Soup was delicious. But it was busy and was still busy when we returned for cup of tea after our walk. All ways a good sign. Fantastic decoration, food and service. Well worth a visit. A welcome collapsing stop after Park Run also!

I enjoy visiting Lytham Hall and the tea rooms serve a good selection of food and drinks. There is something special about this place and the grounds are peaceful and relaxing. Free parking and entry during the week, my grandchild loved running about exploring.

it's been awhile since we visited the grounds, to see the fairy doors trail, which was a lovely thing do do. this visit was to see the snowdrops and despite a very cold wind a really enjoyable visit again. since we had to walk up the driveway we were lucky to see buzzards and jays plus many other birds. the snowdrops were splendid and fluttering in the wind. the wind had driven us and many others to the tea rooms. these have been imaginatively transformed from the previous canteen style to a characterful space, furnished with older wooden tables and chairs and a cosy 'library corner'. we were just having drinks and cakes but as we left some folk were enjoying splendid hot lunches and told us they were delicious. will definitely be back for lunch. well done to all the volunteers and the new tea-shop proprietors for the work you've put in.

Visited yesterday after a pleasant walk from Lytham. The tearoom was very warm and welcoming. We had only intended to have a warm drink - however once we saw the range of lovely cakes on offer we had a very quick change of mind. I had a hot chocolate and a piece of lemon drizzle cake both were delicious, my friend had a pot of tea and a slice if fairy cake again delicious, We will return but next time for a meal

It was nice to find somewhere that allows dogs in, unfortunately the food was poor. I had a gruyere tart which was served with new potatoes, it appeared that the food was reheated in a microwave once I started to eat. The tart had originally been burnt on the top but the reheating had made filling soggy whilst the pastry was soft. The potatoes appeared dry but when cut open were more water than potato, these were given gratefully to the dog. The only positive was a nice cup of tea. Overall a disappointing experience that I won't be doing again.

Been a regular for some time , always satisfied with exception of my last visit , visited 2,30 ish and when we was still dining a waitress decided to spray furniture polish on tables to commence with cleaning tables , we were all stunned that she was completely unaware that we was still dining , the smell was horrific , should do clean down when customers have left , first time I've experienced this , a lovely lunch ruined

Lovely dog friendly tea rooms with fabulous food, friendly helpful staff & relaxing atmosphere. We often take our dogs for a walk/run around fabulous Lytham Hall grounds before visiting the tea rooms for refreshments. Good quality food at a reasonable price.

We often visit Lytham Hall and always take the opportunity to visit the café which is brilliant after the takeover by the current people. Drinks and lunches are very tasty and good value, we particularly like sitting in the comfy seats at the back of the café with our coffees (in the mock library- amazing what wallpaper designs you can get these days). Well worth a visit.

Came across this place while visiting Lytham. A little hidden Gem. A bit different from other establishments with good decor and nice ambiance. Food good, well presented and reasonable prices. Staff polite and attentive. Lovely outside eating area too. Give it a try.

We visited the restaurant at Lytham Hall twice whilst enjoying the town's 1940s weekend. The cafe is in the converted stable block and is very stylishly decorated - gold leather tub chairs and wonderful mis-matched vintage tables and chairs. The menu is excellent and very good value - scrumptious homemade cakes, huge sandwiches, local meat and fish dishes, many of which are themed to the Hall's history. Efficient service, friendly staff - all in all a lovely place to relax. Additional room upstairs where we had evening meal (events only I think). Very reasonable prices for such quality. There is a charge to tour the Hall, but the very extensive grounds and gardens are free to explore - ideal for a dog walk after a cream tea! Extensive, adjacent free parking.

Pleasant surroundings, pretty good tea and coffee and good value. The only fly in the ointment was when my wife asked if the soup was homemade the reply was "half". Presumably a packet was emptied into a pan of water and heated up!The baked potato with tuna was a great alternative.

Decided to try the café at Lytham Hall for lunch the other day and even on a Monday lunchtime it was quite busy with people dropping in for coffee and cake as well as lunch..An ideal location as you can take a walk around the grounds to build up an appetite before sampling the lovely fare they have on offer at the café.There was a good selection of main courses as well as sandwiches. We can definitely vouch for the sandwiches and the double cheese and onion pie which had a beautifully light pastry and was served with a selection of potatoes and vegetables. The puddings were also great and tasted homemade but they also sell ice cream and biscuits for those with a smaller appetite.A really nice lunch in nicely refurbished surroundings. Loved the bookcase wallpaper!Try it you'll love it!

Lytham Hall has always had a cafe, previously run by volunteers but in January 2016 it was refurbished and is now operated privately. They now have a lovely selection of food available and a delicious choice of desserts, cakes and all things sweet. It's really a place for all seasons you can enjoy exploring the historical hall, wonderful grounds which are all constantly changing whilst funds are raised for their restoration then round it off with a visit to this wonderful "new" venue

Being local this is one of favourite places to go, we are aware they are "dog friendly". What was so disappointing yesterday is that for a small place there were THREE dogs in it and not under the table (which is meant to the rule)... One retriever was really large and would never have been anywhere near to fitting under the table. As I'm extremely allergic we left. I was ill after what should have been a pleasant start to the day. As our nieces are scared stiff of dogs it's also off our places to go list when we have them visit. Aside from the unhygienic matter of dogs around food, there's the fear factor for some and allergy factor for others. I know people with dogs think they are owed a living and treat them like humans.... But they're not human , they still lick their asses, they smell and their hair does shed..... All in places people are paying to eat!!! We won't be back.

Nipped in today as we’ve been in the past didn’t realise it was under new management but we stayed anyway the food was horrific and over priced for standard of it .. my husband ordered a rump steak and couldn’t eat it was rubbery and bland but give the landlady her due she did knock it off the bill, I ordered schnitzel chicken I was served chicken Goujons the landlady said the chef hadn’t looked at the order proper I did try abit rather than cause a fuss but they wasn’t for me so the chef made me schnitzel it came out greasy I asked if it was pan fried as I could see the grease ..she said no so I placed it in a napkin to squeeze it and loads of grease came off so it put me off , found an hair in my sons gamon so he didn’t eat he’s and the pineapple was black underneath like burnt charcoal, the mushroom on he’s plate was dry as anything 😭 my daughter thought the chicken and leak pie was ok, we ate starters too chicken wings and ribs , was told there was no ribs but they will add extra wings we was ok with that they was lovely didn’t have any issues with those The halloumi fries was ok too , garlic mushrooms was ok just got abit sickly eating too many .. the landlady knew we wasn’t keen on the food asked if everything was ok I just answered not really but still paid as we didn’t want her to think we was just trying to not pay for food as the bill was £91 with drinks but also minusing the £20 steak , the land lady’s service was brilliant couldn’t really fault her just might need to look at the chefs work, lovely pub but definitely over priced .

Asked to move my mobility scooter 3 times, it was 4.30 in the afternoon and was empty. I left it tucked away at the side out of the way, and the manger told me to move it, so I moved it near my table and again he asked me to move it, so I moved it again near my seat, he asked me again to move it, and I said where do you want me to move it to? He didn't reply so I asked him does he want me to move anywhere else before I have my drink. He said nothing and walked away. He was rude in the way he was speaking to me, and not friendly at all, he didn't explain why. Definitely not disabled friendly at all, if all costa coffee are the same I will not be going again. He certainly needs disability training. Not impressed at all.
