Went for a special occasion for a spa day. Paid £360 for treatments and lunch and use of spa facilities. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and the treatments were very good. We were so disappointed and let down by the spa facilities as steam room was not in use and the jets in jacuzzi were switched off throughout our whole spa day. How is it fair to pay full price when the facilities were not available or in use? I did email and express our disappointment regarding this and how we should have been told and offered to come at a different time, and the reply was "we are really pleased you enjoyed lunch and treatments" and just that the services were down due to maintenance? No discount was given or an option to come back when spa up & running properly? How can Luton hoo expect to charge this price and for customers to be forfilled when they are not receiving what they paid for? We are very disappointed with how this was dealt with and such a shame as the grounds are beautiful and the hotel and restaurant in mansion house are also lovely. So if you are visiting for a spa day, I recommend calling and checking if facilities are in use to avoid disappointment. Will not return due to poor customer service and care.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Amazing Spa Getaway at Luton Hoo! From the moment we arrived at Luton Hoo, we were blown away by the sheer grandeur of the interiors and the warm, welcoming service. Every detail, from the elegant décor, clean and lovely room to the impeccable hospitality made our anniversary truly special. The highlight of my experience was the spa—pristine, beautifully maintained and incredibly relaxing. Our massage was simply fantastic, leaving me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The E Spa products were a lovely bonus, adding to the luxurious feel of the treatment. Dinner was another unforgettable experience—a perfectly curated three-course meal with exquisite flavors and top-notch presentation. Every bite was a delight! The breakfast with a wide array of choices, great service and fabulous views was quite an experience. Overall, Luton Hoo exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a luxurious escape with outstanding service, amazing food, and a world-class spa, this is the place to be. I can’t wait to return!

I came here for the first time in December for coffee and a light bite in their lounge area. I waited over 25mins for my cappuccino to find out that it had already been made a while ago and had been left on the side. The young waitress said my drink would probably be cold by now and yet still brought it for me thinking it’d be ok to drink a cold cappuccino that had clearly been forgotten? Not to forget when it did arrive, it looked and tasted awful. I had a whole pile of milk dumped on top of my mug and whoever made this clearly didn’t know what a cappuccino was. The students/young staff are very friendly but need good training from senior management about taking orders and making orders. I went back again last weekend to hope for a better experience and this time my father ordered a Cafetière coffee and was brought an Americano. The young waitress again didn’t know what a cafetière was (even though it’s offered in the menu), so I said a french press and she still didn’t have a clue. Quite disappointing given how expensive the coffee is here and the staff know very little about it. My father had a poor experience with his food order and when I asked what the daily ice cream flavours were, no one came back to tell me! I think this place has potential, very pretty grounds and a beautiful building but hospitality staff need a lot of support.

Absolute bliss! We took two of our grandchildren for a festive Afternoon Tea to celebrate their 18th birthdays. As you would expect, the service was immaculate and the food out of this world. The weather was atrocious, very wet and windy, and the car parked about 300 yards from the main entrance. A member of staff retrieved our coats and blew us away with an offer of a chauffeured ride back to the car park. A memorable end to a memorable day!

My husband booked a package break as a surprise for me and we were both so impressed with the grounds and beautiful main rooms which were stunning. Everything was lovely although the bedrooms are a little dated. The food in the brasserie was good but the breakfast in the main house was amazing but the standout thing for us was the service. Every member of staff stood out for their excellent help and professionalism. David at reception was outstanding. He proceeded to upgrade us after I mentioned that my husband treated me because I am a full time carer for my dad who is unwell. He walked us to our lovely big room with beautiful views from all aspects and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back and spreading the word. Thank you David.

Snatched extreme disappointment from the jaws of fantastic. Housekeeping disaster. There for 2 nights. They packed up all my stuff and took it to their store after first night. Then Wifi really not acceptable. Took min 10 mins to upto 45 mins to connect to hotel wifi. Cell coverage in the area similar to that found in an underground nuclear shelter. You could get away with this 7 years ago. Not now.

An impressive location, the main building is remarkable and imbued with history. Overall I found it just about fine but the service was distinctly split: there were cases of excellent service but also too many cases of naïve or inappropriate service. They have a lot of staff from a particular country who have different ideas about what is acceptable in an upmarket hotel, for instance: 1. The strange case of rolling huge round tables through the elegant bar area like they were giant wheels, all in front of guests or 2. Communication issues: you ask for a pint of something, they query the glass, together you agree on a pint glass after pointing to it and then they turn up with your drink having put it in a smaller glass and they make no comment about why! 3. Table service that's more like a child clearing a table at home than someone doing so in a formal hotel This all feeds a general sense of stretched finances and under investment about the venue. Sadly due to the weather, we could not explore the hotel grounds and nearby walks. I suspect the shortcomings may have seemed slightly less notable if we'd had that opportunity and been won over by the beauty of the grounds. If you are looking for somewhere in the area it might be worth considering but I doubt I will return, other venues seem more appealing.

We loved everything about the property, the room was very spacious, the service was excellent. the selection on the breakfast buffet and the menu items were great. The property itself is very peaceful and tranquil, the peacocks walking around were an added bonus! The pricing for golf was very fair and the course was very pretty. There were always people around to assist with anything you may need and they all had a great attitude. Disliked · The access to Uber/taxis was difficult. We were there for a wedding in London and our taxi that was called by the hotel, was almost an hour late, unfortunately we missed the ceremony because of this. And also be aware that there are some rooms with no air conditioning. Fortunately we had very cool weather, so it wasn't necessary and they did offer us a fan.

I offered Young couple a night with a 3 course menu and spa access. I was happy to hear the hotel was amazing and the spa fantastic but the service during the dinner was not the one you would expect from a hotel of this category. The waiter was completely confused with what they were allowed and kept on going back and forth to reception to enquire about a 7 course menu or 3 course when they knew it was a 3 course. They finally got the meal and the food was delicious but afterwards he told them in fact you could have had the 7th course menu!!! Apparently they were not the only ones that night having this problem with the voucher received but we hope this experience will teach him how to act when such problem occur in a 5 star hotel.

Had afternoon tea here on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The grounds, the venue and the crockery are lovely. We arrived and were warmly greeted. The gentleman could not find my booking, I showed him the confirmation email and shortly after one of his colleagues easily found it. We were directed to our table, which was very nicely set up and did have a lovely view of the gardens. However there end the positives. We were waited on by possibly up to 5 different people, several seemed utterly confused and kept on asking us if we wanted to 'order' - it is afternoon tea, it is a set menu, you basically choose the tea you wish (or coffee - this itself did trigger panic on the staff member) and you're off - sandwiches comes and then the scones and desserts. The manager was passing by so I quietly enquired with him why there seemed to be so much confusion. Initially, he came across very defensive- give me specific examples he said - they were given (more could have been provided in fairness). He did explain that there had been some issue with the staff members and some were not in the usual setting, which is fair enough, these things do happen. Service did improve from there onwards (somewhat) and he was attentive enough to come and check on us later on. However, the afternoon tea itself was also disappointing - the sandwiches were cold (out of the freezer just minutes before), the bread quality seemed poor and the desserts were certainly high on food colourants and rather sickly tasting. There was no strainer for the tea, so unless you were incredibly careful you ended up with leaves in your cup. The room itself is lovely but some of the furniture looked also very tired and just plain old. Definitely room for improvement.

Very majestic place but in need of a refurb, grande facilities but outdated decor. Food at the brasserie was way below expectations and some dishes tasted and looked like they came of a supermarket shelf. The breakfast did save the day, lots of options, tasty and in a very nice dining room. The spa was a bit underwhelming, not purpose built facilities, and no hot tub was a big let down, treatments were good though. However, the staff was fantastic, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and just very good at service. Would go again if it had a refurb

This was a golf day with my sons followed by a stay at the hotel with my wife; a birthday present for me. The golf service and staff were excellent ; wish my golf was also! The brasserie meal was quite average. My wife, who waited for us there, had difficulty getting the staff's attention. The food was unimaginative with (burgers, fish and chips, sandwiches). The £12 turkey club sandwich consisted of egg, bacon, cheap turkey slice and supermarket white sliced bread (with a good salad)! Hotel, however, was lovely; great staff, bedroom excellent, gardens wonderful. We had a drink and small meal in lounge in evening. Horrible pizza. Generally poor menu for a lovely lounge. Should we have complained at the time? It was my birthday so who wants to sour a pleasant atmosphere.

A review of afternoon tea at the hotel, rather than staying at the hotel. The room where afternoon tea is served is impressive views over the garden and high ceilings, mirrors on the wall. The service is good, with a shout-out to Teajah, friendly and efficient. They were aware of allergies (one allergic to Soya caused no issues, the other coeliac and allergic to black pepper) There are open sandwiches, with traditional flavours but not the usual finger sandwiches. This works well and are generally quite tasty. The egg vol au vent was spoilt by excessive paprika. Our first choice tea, the hotel signature afternoon tea blend, was unavailable! So standard EBT, but in a tea bag ... disappointing. Then on to the sweet/cake options strangely only two cake stands were delivered, one GF and one unspecified (so we needed to wait), until staff came to clarify- Teajah rectified this after talking to the kitchen, bringing another stand. These were really good. The chairs around a low table are armchairs, which are really soft, and you sink into a long way, making it very difficult to "climb out." Whilst some might like this to me, it was like sitting on the floor with my knees up.

The hotel met our expectations. Staff were helpful overall. The facilities were good and in particular the spa and swimming pool. We chose to stay to the mansion. This is the old, historic building. Rooms there had more character. On the negative said the heating units were noisy (at night) and you were able to hear the neighbours despite the spacious rooms. Food was OK. We found the room service menu wanting. By contrast, breakfast was good. Afternoon tea experience was poor as staff seemed unorganised.

Lovely grounds but a bit inconvenient as the breakfast is in a different building and so are the spa facilities. Rooms are spacious however the walls are pretty thin so don’t expect to have the best nights sleep. Breakfast was good, quite a few options and fresh food. Spa facilities were okay, gets busy so it’s likely you may not get a lounger at times. Had a massage as well which was great, however quite disappointed that the consultation was included in this time so instead of the “55 minute massage” it was only 40 minutes which makes it not worth the money.

‼️‼️‼️YOU DONt PAY ??? You CANT WALK ‼️‼️ when I came today for a walk with my dogs as usual a man of Indian origin cut me off with his car, jumped out of the car and asked if I had paid for the hotel I replied that I hadn't paid for the hotel, I just came with my dogs for a walk and he told me that if I hadn't paid for the hotel I had no right to walk here because it was private property. The man was very rude and took a photo of my car license plate and said that he would add it to the system and I would never be able to enter here I then told him that they should post the information on the entrance gate, it would be easier and I could avoid this unpleasant conversation with him. these are ruthless people who only care about money I understand that this is private land, but I'm not doing anything wrong here, I'm just walking with the dogs and that's all Shame shame shame for you new owner ‼️‼️‼️ my question to the owners How can you make someone pay for walking their dog❔❓❓❓ It is incomprehensible and sad that people are treated this way‼️⚠️

"I must express my disappointment with my recent experience at Luton Hoo. The spa's location outside the main hotel proved inconvenient, requiring me to dress up and traverse multiple doors and staircases just to access treatment facilities. Upon arrival, I was directed to a waiting area reminiscent of a doctor's office, lacking the ambiance one would expect for relaxation. The absence of dim lighting, recliners, and refreshments beyond cold water further contributed to a cold and unwelcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the lack of an offer to change into a robe and slippers compounded my discomfort, particularly given the subpar quality of the provided flip-flops and towels reminiscent of a public pool area. Furthermore, I found the inflexibility regarding the refund policy disheartening, as I needed to depart earlier than anticipated and was not offered any compensation or alternative solutions. As someone who has traveled extensively and frequented numerous establishments, I can hardly justify rating Luton Hoo as a five-star venue. If you are seeking a getaway with a truly relaxing atmosphere and amenities befitting a luxury resort, I would caution against choosing Luton Hoo.

Luton POO!!! We stayed here in August 2023 and the stay was so disappointing; a total waste of time, energy and at the time, money. We seldom write reviews, but we left feeling so stressed and angry that we feel it’s only fair that others hear about how tired, misleading, and lacking this establishment is. I’m not sure when the Luton Hoo was awarded it’s 5* status, but this needs to be taken down and reassessed. The grounds and public spaces are stunning and beautiful, but when going to a spa getaway, you hope for rest, relaxation and a good nights sleep – non of which happened. For reference, we paid £287.10 for 1 nights stay which included breakfast and ‘Spa’ access. The first and main issue is the spa and the fact that children are allowed in for many hours of the day. Adults do not book a 5* spa and golf resort to hear screaming children whilst they are trying to relax. We were aware that children would be allowed in this area, but the hours of children’s entry is different in the email communications compared to at the spa itself. The email stated that children have access from 09.00-11.00 and 15.00-17.30 every day. However, in reality, the sign at the spa states that on weekends, children are allowed in the spa 09.00 – 10.30, 15.00 – 16.30, and 17.00 – 18.30. However, staff don’t ensure that these timings are honored, and there are no adult only times in reality. The second issue was the vitality pool. The jets weren’t working and the pool was very cold. This was one of the main attractions for us at the spa and we weren’t notified prior to arriving or at reception. When I actively exited the pool area to ask how to operate the jets under the water after trying all different methods, the receptionist admitted that they were switched off (and have been for a while) as the tiles in the pool are loose, which is less than satisfactory for a 5* establishment. After emailing the Luton Hoo, the response was ‘We experienced an issue with the boiler servicing the vitality pool at the time of your visit and unfortunately this resulted in the vitality pool being cooler than it should have been for which we apologise. We appreciate that this was not ideal and understand that you were disappointed.’ The final issue with the spa is the lack of hygiene. After realising that we couldn’t relax in the vitality pool, we thought we’d make the most of the steam room. Only to sit down and realise that there was brown, sticky debris on the walls (specifically in the grout) which I can only assume is a build-up of dead skin cells and sweat which haven’t been cleaned over a long period of time. There is also a thick layer of sludge on the rail into the vitality pool at the water level which is extremely off-putting. When getting showered you can tell that the cubicles haven’t been properly maintained as there is a huge amount of mould present (picture attached). For the sake of other guests privacy we did not take pictures within the main spa areas, but my partner and I developed itchy spots over our chests and backs which we have never experienced before despite visiting different spa’s every year. Luton Hoo’s response was ‘We would like to assure you that the spa has a regular cleaning programme with daily and weekly cleaning in the programme which is strictly adhered to.’ But the picture of the shower speaks for itself. Came here for a birthday dinner. No one was in there apart from us, so it was quite peaceful, apart from a worker coughing really loudly to the point it sounded like he was going to throw up. Not great for hygiene (their rating is 3). The samosas were ok, but more spicy than seasoned. Butter chicken was very sweet, it felt more like I was eating a dessert. Garlic naan was quite nice though. Tables were very squeaky and chairs were just a plank of wood with fabric on them.
