Nice traditional pub with decent accommodation for a short stay. We stopped over for 1 night , really nice relaxing atmosphere , had a lovely evening meal and also enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. Many thanks

Very good. Room was just what we wanted for a 1 night stay. Thought it could be noisy being in a pub, but the separate rooms were great. Nice and quiet.

First time in this beautiful pub last Sunday. It was a belated Birthday celebration/treat 🎂 🥳 from my girl's. The food was absolutely delicious. And the staff were all amazing. So attentive, and extremely helpful and friendly. There was nothing in this wonderful dog friendly pub that I could fault. Will definitely return. Was a great find from one of my Daughter's, who was very impressed too. The whole family loved the place , including our little doggie, nice touch having a jar of treats, and given a bowl of water upon arrival 10/10

Love this place, we had our wedding meal here 2 years ago today and popped in for a little beverage (and received a complimentary drink!) always great service and such a lovely atmosphere 🥰😄

Beautiful experience from start to finish again! Fantastic welcoming and service from Adam!! We are back to stay overnight for a 2nd time because of Adam and his great customer service & attention to detail, from advice about the Beautiful & extremely tasty menu to just being a fab host!! The menu is simply beautiful and cooked with skill! Highly recommend the soft cooked scotch egg/ sirlion/lamb ragoo...we haven't tasted the entire menu (yet) but from our two experiences so far...you really can't go wrong with any of it! There's something for everyone (vegs & vegan) We will definitely be coming back!

A reliable local good for food and drinks

Stayed here over the Christmas period so wasn't sure what to expect...Pleasantly surprised, rooms were clean and tidy and breakfast spot on - even managed my dietary requirements!

Excellent Sunday lunch with my wife and son. Belly pork for myself, chicken for my wife - absolutely delicious. Thirteen year old son demolished an excellent sized child's portion of battered haddock, fries and beans. Glad we left room for desserts! Everyone happy with the food and excellent service.

I have eaten in the restaurant many times over the years, both for lunch and evening meals, with friends and family. The food does not dissapoint, is good quality and goes well beyond standard pub grub. The menu changes regularly and always offers a range of freshly cooked dishes. The staff are professional, warm and welcoming (especially Guy) and happy to engage in some friendly banta. This is our go to place when eating out with friends.

We stopped by chance at this green building thinking there might be the chance of food. Food! Our taste buds were well and truly tickled. It's not often that fish and chips leaves you talking about them hours later, but these did. Peas that made me go 'Oh wow!' My partner was allowed 1 taste (too good to share). The peas didn't overshadow the fish or chips. Beautiful. Not content with a taste of my peas Nicky had a burger. She's eaten a lot on land and on cruises and her meal matched mine. The best burger she's ever had. We'll aim for the Green Man next time we are in the area. I must add the staff were most helpful without any pressure. A lovely couple of hours spent in comfortable surroundings. Many thanks.

Me my partner and my little son come here at least once a week the place is grand, the staff are very respectful and polite and the food is just top class !! I seriously would recommend this quality country pub to any one of!!

Sunday roast was absolutely lovely and really generous portions

Had a meal before Christmas and the food was exceptional! The chicken and the sides were fabulous. Highly recommend the food.

Update: Went back again today for a delicious Sunday roast, the beef was cooked perfectly, succulent and plenty to enjoy! The roast potatoes were nice and crispy and nothing was too big of an ask, we were welcomed by the head chef, who came to check on us and bought us extra gravy when he realised we were low! Cannot fault the experience! Thank you My friend & I had such a lovely evening & positive experience that I don't know where to begin! Everyone from the bar staff, waiter and the front of house made our evening special & made us feel special & welcome. Our food was delicious, especially the Sea bream🤤 I highly recommend you give it a try! The team were all so lovely & obliging, & also seemed happy as a unit, which really came across & made service etc seem effortless. Looking forward to another visit & would very highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful evening 😊 x

Came here for Sunday lunch recently with my family, the staff were so helpful and so patient with our 1 year old and the several alterations we had to make to the booking numbers, nothing was too much trouble. The food was simply delicious. We will be returning.

My dad and myself visited a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely meal and I came with my partner a few day ago. We had a great service. The server ensured we had drinks for the whole meal and when the food came we were extremely happy. I cant wait to pop in again and hopefully the open fire will be lit for us to enjoy as well.

Fantastic service and a great pub!

First time eating at this restaurant last night (Halloween). My partner and I had painted faces for the evening due it being Halloween . Upon walking in, the server mocked us and began asking what mental age we were for dressing up. He also insulted the way that we looked. His attitude and customer service was derogatory and ruined the whole experience. The food was absoloutely lovely, but I was shocked by the servers behaviour. We were spoken down to and treated differently because of our appearance (come on guys it’s Halloween) and made to feel as if our business wasn’t wanted. I want to give this place a higher review because of the food, but unfortunately I cannot.

Absolutely loved the service here. The staff made a huge effort with my children. The food menu was fantastic, and Guy could not do enough for us. Kids loved the huge garden. Atmosphere was peaceful yet joyful. Will definitely return with the family.

What a fab weekend we’ve just had for my little sister’s wedding. Lucy went above and beyond to provide us the best service and making everything perfect!! The team are fantastic and the food is 10/10! Especially the chilli beef!! The manager GUY catered to all of my sister’s requests and ensured the wedding was spot on. Thank you all! And we will continue to enjoy our weekly dinners with you guys! :)

This weekend we had the greenman for our daughters wedding. We arrived on the Friday and left on the Sunday and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff couldn't do enough for us. Guy and Lucy were amazing and made us feel so welcome. They even changed the menu at the last minute due to a guest being a vegan with no fuss. The food at every meal was amazing and such high standard and quality. the rooms were clean and tidy and they even let some of our guests have their room early as they had just flown in from Hong Kong which not many places would do. Befor the wedding they were there to answer questions again with no fuss. I would highly recommend this place for a wedding or party or even a night away. Thankyou again guy and Lucy and the rest of the team for helping us make such wonderful memories. We will be returning. Wendy

Had an eventful at The Green Man and stayed for two nights. Staff were AMAZING!. Shout out to Lucy and Guy, they were fantastic and couldn't have helped more. Food was delicious and the pub is now our regular for family meals out. I will be recommending this venue to everyone. THANK YOU

Stayed for two nights . Very friendly reception on arrival .Taken to our room not just given the key .Our room was delightful,very clean spacious bathroom superb. Great view across open land towards Old Warden airfield which gave us the added bonus of an air show .totally unexpected.Staff very friendly and the food was outstanding. Chefs pie of the day highly recommended.. overall a pleasant stay in a comfortable hotel . Will come again

Went for an evening meal as a group of 6. Staff were friendly. Food was of a good quality and came out quickly. They were accommodating with food allergies.

Nice pub that serves decent food with lots of options, including gluten free. Lots of parking. It’s nicely tucked away in a quiet countryside location. I came here a couple of months ago in March and my only concern was that it was freezing inside!

Popped in for a late lunch only to be told they no longer do food after 3pm, despite website and table menus still saying they served till 5. Wasted journey - we went to the White Horse down the road

We held a family reunion here on 4th May 2024. The food was very nice, no complaints. Bar staff, waitresses and management were very good. They did a bbq at tea time inside for extra guests arriving after our main meal. Couldn't have done more. Very pleased. Thank you, everyone had a lovely time.

Staff polite and welcoming. Lovely pub, and friendly atmosphere. Went for Sunday dinner. Food quite expensive but tasted amazing. Only downside is the vegetarian options aren't great and not many fish meals either.

I have been a patron of the pub side of the business with my brother on many occasions, and know the staff are very friendly and passionate about customer service. I recently stayed overnight in a great room. I cannot recommend this establishment enough. The food, the the staff and now the accommodation. A special mention for "amazing" Grace. When you visit, this will make sense. A lovely place in a great location.

We out for a drive . Called in to the green man-stanford, food lovely and hot and fresh. Service really good. Looking forward to going back.
