Luppolo in City of London, Westminster

Came here for a quick stop for food on a Sunday and ended up waiting an hour for one margarita pizza. This was during a very quiet time in the restaurant where there were only really 3-4 groups of patrons. Pizza was fine, average and met my expectations, but it was the amount of time taken for a fairly simple dish and the disengaged staff who compelled me to write a review. Felt like they had forgotten about our order.

Service is shocking . Should of been a bad sign when u going in on a bank holiday weekend and there only 1 table. We sat 15 min for first round drinks. Second round even longer. Staff have no want or passion to be there. Samedrinks taste different each round . Usually spend 2-3 hours here spending couple hundred pounds in drinks alone . Won't be back and will take business across the round . Even when members of group complained dtaff didn't care

Shocking service. Should of turned around with went in and only saw 2 tables of people on a busy weekend. Staff don't care . No rush . 20min gor a round of drinks . Complained didn't care then have cheek to try put service on the bill . Used to spend 300 on just drinks here. Will take our money across road to the bull pub

We had our lunch a couple of hours ago. Very nice food, good price for the charcuterie board and nice selection of meats. Friendly staff, calm and nice atmosphere. I was surprised when one customer out of no where started to complain and to be very rude towards the staff. They apologized and handled the situation well but it's a shame some people don't respect not even the other people around that are trying to have a good time. Maybe he was in the right but I didn't like that I had to hear that while I was enjoying my drink and spending quality time with my friends. Other than this, nice place, nice food and friendly staff.

Came on a Saturday Afternoon at 1245 ordered the Chacuterie board for 2 and the white sauce pizza with mushrooms and truffle and chicken and peppers. Food was off high quality and very very tasty would highly recommend. Highly recommend the great cuts of meat on the Chacuterie Board.

Always enjoy Luppolo. My daughter took me for Mother's day lunch. Had a sharing charcuterie board to start and then both had king prawn liguine. Really good. Couple of cocktails - particularly like the spicy margarita! Didn't have pizza on this occasion but they are also great.

Outrageous delivery service! After 2 hours of calling, messaging and delays we had to cancel the order 1 hour after the agreed delivery time. Do not order the delivery from this place.

Recently (on 10/02/24), we placed an order for two pizzas and a starter from Lupolo via Deliveroo. Unfortunately, the delivery was mishandled by Deliveroo, resulting in us receiving the wrong pizzas and missing our starter altogether. Despite this mix-up, we found ourselves with two pizzas and decided to proceed with consuming them. However, the quality of the pizzas was highly disappointing. The crust appeared flat, as if the dough had failed to rise properly, and the underside of the pizza had a pale, doughy texture, indicating improper cooking. It was evident that something was seriously wrong with them. Typically, I'm inclined not to waste food and will consume deliveries even if they fall short of expectations, unless they're spoiled. However, in this case, the pizzas were so bad that I had no choice but to discard them entirely. I'm uncertain what went wrong, but unlike our previous orders, these pizzas were dreadful, leading me to suspect there may have been a change in staff at the pizzeria. In fact, I doubt the person responsible for making the pizzas was a trained professional.

Good beers, good pizzas, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Really gone downhill. Used to eat here a lot years ago but the pizzas are much smaller now, were burnt this time and the prices are so much higher! Service not great either, really slow and nobody even bothered to ask if everything was ok. Won't be back, wish I'd tried alba over the road

Lovely, cosy spot on the high street. The salami pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time, including recent holidays to Italy... My partner really enjoyed the aubergine parmigiana she had as well. Service was casual but friendly. Prices seemed reasonable if not on the cheap-side for the area.

My friends and I regularly come to Luppolo and usually have a great time but unfortunately this was not what we experienced during our most recent visit. We were seated by a girl at one of the booth tables in the bar area (our favourite!). 5 minutes later after we were settled and ready to order a short, grumpy looking man (who I now know to be the new manager) came over and told us we had to move as the table could have fit 6 and we were only 3. He would not take no for an answer and moved us to a table on the other side of the restaurant where we had screaming children running around our table. To top this all off he was arguing with the kitchen staff for a good 10 minutes right near our table. This man clearly needs a lot of training on the basics of working in a restaurant. We won’t be returning.

Only 2 other tables taken, but dirty crockery and glasses left on tables. When the table next to us was eventually cleared, it wasn’t cleaned. Consequently, the tables are grubby and sticky and we had to endure flies all around us whilst we were eating. Food was ok, but not as good as on multiple previous visits. Grandson asked for ketchup, but was told they only had garlic mayonnaise. Imagine our surprise when the bill came and we were charged £1.50 for this! Staff not interested when this was queried and said it was “home made”. Suggested we email the manager if we were not happy as there was no-one in charge! Service, and attitude, was extremely poor: considering there was only a couple of tables taken, we had to get up to find a server. Shame, but won’t be going back.

We turned up to a half empty restaurant and were told no tables, so we left. Then they guy chased after us and said they'd had a cancellation. So we sat down Food was good, service not so good. Had to keep flagging people down to ask for drinks and order food etc. Food was relatively speedy and pizzas a decent size. Had to wait ages for the bill. When we left the restaurant was still half empty so not sure why we couldn't have had a table earlier.

A real shame after this experience. Ordered for my wife, friend and 4 year old son, three pizzas and a kids meal. After 40 min had ask if it was on the way. The order had clearly been forgotten and all the more frustrating as it was only three or four other tables in at the same time. Waiter left and eventually came back with food by which time my son was too tired to eat. Non apology or honesty as this stage. Our table was then ignored and we had to ask for some water. When the bill came I asked for the service to be removed and this was done with no apology. Maybe the staff are more with it and efficient when busier! A real shame but as we live in the area we’ll be back and hopefully they were just having a bad day!

I’ve always loved Luppolo. The service has always been good - even during the pandemic - and the food is fantastic. I love the burrata and arrancini balls!

Lovely family friendly restaurant. Me and my husband strolled in with the kids after seeing some friends in the area and what a lovely surprise we had! We went on a Friday and despite not booking, the staff were able to re arrange some tables to accommodate our family. Pasta was delicious- pizza was the best I’ve had in a while …everyone was happy! After finding out they are dog friendly we will definitely be back after next Sundays walk!

Very quiet on a rainy Sunday evening but hope it was our timing and business is good as we enjoyed ourselves. I had the chicken Milanese with roast potatoes which was fantastic, everything was flavoured really well and cooked to perfection. Had a lovely cosmopolitan too. My partner enjoyed his pizza. Service a little slow, especially considering there were so few other diners, but generally good.

Poor Value. The toppings are really stingy. I ordered a smoked Pancetta pizza with mushroom. It cost £13.50 and there was barely a full mushroom on it. The standards have dropped. While the service was good I was better off buying a pizza from the supermarket. I won't be going back here unless the reviews get better.

Really want to like this place its local and we’re all for supporting local business. However the service/food and cleanliness has slipped over the years and prices - yes you guessed it! Have gone up! Find it’s hit n miss. Had to send back a pizza as it was simply far too salty (think they may have changed the cheese they use) and on our last visit my wife’s main arrived about 40 minutes after mine …. They will have to up their game as a new Italian has opened across the road! Good luck and hope you sort it out as I genuinely want all our local eateries to do well! 👍

Food is really delicious and great portion sizes but the service is often very slow (we waited 50 mins for our mains last night and only one arrived so after 10 mins of waiting we were told the other main had accidentally got taken to a different table, so waited another 10 mins). We’ve had similar experiences in the past so be ready to order big starters if you’re starving!

Ordered a gluten free pizza. Confirmed with waiter that it was gluten free. Confirmed once again if the pizza was gluten free & was told it was. It was only when checking over the bill that we realised the pizza was not gluten free. No amount of apologising or not having to pay the bill will negate the fact that the staff are unaware of the importance of gluten free options for those with celiac disease or gluten allergies or intolerances. I do not recommend this place for anyone looking to eat gluten free. Dangerous for celiacs!

Great pizzas and starters - lovely ambience with distressed furniture - pet friendly :) and good sized portions - the Pesto vegetarian pizza , the lamb calzone and the Mediterranean starter sharing platter were standout - they also serve their own craft beer !

We were there at the pizzeria at 3pm for a family birthday. 9 adults plus 4,3,2 and 1 year olds. We have been there a few times before with similar numbers and never had a problem. The restaurant was not overly busy compared to other times,. Having ordered the food around 3.20pm it took an hour for the main courses to be served! The service staff were friendly and continually pressed the kitchen staff but without success. Takeaway pizzas take priority and they were too busy with those.Had we known we would have ordered the takeaways and taken them to our table! We won't be back even though they took £20 of the £195 bill!

Finally We did it and came to Luppolo. We wanted to come for long time after reading its great reviews. Unfortunately when we came they were severely understaffed. However, our server, Andrei, managed to give us an aceptable service. It is such a shame because food was great. Really well-made pizzas. We started with nduja Arancini and tomato bruschetta and liked them. I read a review saying that the spicy salami wasn’t hot enough so I added nduja to it and I nailed it! Nice and hot! My wife ordered Parma ham pizza and liked it very much too. We didn’t tried pasta options. I was nicely surprised with the beer menu and we also enjoyed our desserts; orange cake and panacotta. They looked, taste and felt homemade! Prices are aceptable, 2 starters, 3 drinks, 2 pizzas and 2 desserts for £78 including service is ok nowadays. We paid exactly the same amount at Gordon Ramsay burgers and that wasn’t good value for money. I’d love to come back again when the house is fully staffed. Maybe one day…

Ate here on Wednesday for the first time since lockdown. Food was excellent as always and service was absolutely fantastic! The restaurant was absolutely packed out, but super service with a smile and was a lovely surprise to find a discount on the bill as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme without me needing to ask. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend & we will certainly be back soon.
