LunchMate in North Hertfordshire

I saw they'd had a change of owner, so dropped in for lunch. The food was very good - a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich lives or dies on the quality and quantity of the ingredients, and this didn't disappoint. The flat whites were excellent, and the service was efficient, warm and welcoming. Prices were reasonable too. Recommended!

The cafe is cosy with friendly, efficient and professional staff. The sandwiches they supplied were full and tasted delicious, they made it up with all the different fillings I chose. When it came to pay I very pleasantly surprised, it was certainly good value. One person while I was in there said he could not understand why they didn't have queues down the street as he had tried all the local cafes and none were as good as this! From my experience, I have to agree.

If anyone is wanting a great sandwich and not just filled at the edges with only one slice of cheap ham and cheese you only buy for BBQ's then I would strongly recommend eating here, everything about the food, drinks and staff are brilliant. i would recommend a hot chocolate with a BLT. but here is high quality foo for a great price and is 100% worth it. Even the main man from Willmott Dixon loves this place and so do I and i strongly think that you will Love it too

I use lunchmate most days, girls in her are lovely and the food is always very fresh. cannot fault them at all.

My mum is a regular at lunch mate and she's always saying how friendly the staff are and how much she loves it in there when she has her coffee and toast. I've bought food in there too and I was amazed at the great veggie selection available.

freshly prepared food while you wait, lovely staff, well priced, will definately be returning again, few seats inside and out so was lovely to be able to sit outside in the summer

I haven't been in this sandwich shop for years. Just come out of Natwest and thought we needed lunch in the office. Bought three chicken sandwiches on brown bread. No problem whatsoever. Three well filled chicken sandwiches, thank you very much. We loved them very much, may see you again tomorrow.

Staff are very friendly, the menu is fantastic and the food is lovely. Nice shop and nice place to escape to. Would recommend to anyone.

We always use LunchMate when we have a business meeting and work over lunch. The sandwiches are prepared to order with a vast selection of fillings and delivered to us on a platter. Perfect!

This is my favourite place for lunch. The food quality is amazing and the staff are terrific. Nothing is too much trouble and the choices on offer make it hard to decide lol. Whatever you do choose you can guarantee it will be first class, and always served with a smile.

I have become a bit of a LunchMate addict. I have always just walked by this place until my colleagues said how good their sandwiches and jacket potatoes were. They weren't wrong! Huge variety and all very fresh. Can certainly recommend the All Fired Up sandwich or Coronation Chicken. Friendly staff, happy customers, impeccably clean premises, good value and great variety... What more could you ask for in a lunch time pitstop?!

I had an urge for a Jacket potato one lunchtime however i ALWAYS have chicken mayo on top. Lunchmate didn't have this on the menu as a topping however they happily made it up for me. It was lovely and satisfied my craving.The service is 5*, friendly and bubbly staff to greet you on a miserable day. guaranteed to leave smiling.Jade (alloro)

After a brief wander around my boyfriend and I stumbled across this gem! Amazingly fresh food just what we wanted as we both try to stay as healthy as possible!Great selection and choice of items. Will definitely return

I was in Letchworth for a late morning meeting and stopped at Lunchmate afterwards for a sandwich as was so glad I did as it was excellent. There is a fabulous selection of fresh and flavoursome fillings to choose from and various bread options also. You can take away or eat in (30p extra to eat in) at one of the tables either inside or outside. It's a small friendly place which is spotlessly clean and brand new looking (even though it's been in business for circa 5 years). Prices are reasonable with standard sandwiches ranging from £2.70 to £3.50 (you can upgrade your bread type for extra cost, E.g. For a Fresh Baked Baguette add £1), there are also jacket spuds on offer, salads and soups, as well as the usual sandwich shop extras like drinks and crisps, etc. I had a 'Brighton Rock' Baguette which was crayfish in a lemon mayo with rocket leaves and it was awesome (See photo). High recommend 'LunchMate' at The Colonnade in Letchworth and I would certainly hope to lunch here again one day.

Really friendly staff, great value £2.50 - £3.50 for great sandwiches and baguettes, would highly recommended for lunch. Also, they do great buffets and pre orders by phone!

A nice refreshing, clean and friendly surroundings, I love the recycled table made of scaffolding materials. The sandwiches are fresh,very well made and priced well. The coffee was made to a VERY high standard!!

Had a good sandwich from here and a bottle of water. Staff really friendly and helpful prices are good and weather spoons is just down the road if you fancy a pint.
