Ludo's Cafe in Barnet

A revisit that I wished hadn’t happened. A tatty cafe offering tatty food! The only thing I fancied here was a bottle of water. Never again. Do yourself a favour a find somewhere else, I’d rather buy a sandwich at Tesco and eat it in the park.

I've been going to Ludo's for a long time, I live in Yorkshire now so unfortunately, now, very rarely. I was there recently and my experience was just as good as it always was. The food is freshly made, a great selection and served with extras. For example my tasty Ciabatta was served with a lovely side sald dressing that contained crumbled Fetta Cheese. Also, when having a coffee it's always served with a small biscuit accompanyment. The staff are professional and friendly, but for me, it's the warmth that Ludo always conveys as he welcomes you. It's not fake , he looks genuinely pleased to see you, which can brighten up a miserable day. So, yes, I recommend Ludo's as a great place to eat!!

Popped in for a bite of breakfast before work... Poached eggs on toast and a coffee. Hugely friendly staff, well poached eggs, and a lovely little treat of a biscuit with your coffee. Highly recommended.

Just had a delicious lunch in Ludo's with my son. Wonderfully presented panini and ciabatta rolls, delicious fillings and salads on the side, good coffee and a lovely welcome from Ludo! Extremely reasonable prices, great service - a little gem to be visited again and again!

I have been to this cafe on a number of occasions with different friends and family. The staff are friendly, the food is tasty/nicely presented & is reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

A nice atmosphere, with comfortable seating. Very friendly owner and staff. Caters for most tastes from coffee through to more substantial eats.

Popped in by chance for lunch, the owner very was welcoming. We ordered 2 main courses which were very tasty and was exactly what I expected them to be.

Top toasties, perfect paninis, best breakfasts and choice home made cakes. Friendly staff and Ludo always makes any visit worthwhile. For a short break, quick coffee Ludo's has it. Parties are also catered for

i came in for a nice and quick lunch and that was exactly what I got, I ordered the cheese on toast and it was delicious, also the staff were very kind and caring.

This cafe is local to us so we are in and out with family and friends. Ludo is friendly and know his customers which imparts a feeling of warmth. The food is always fresh. The other day I had the spanakopita, (Greek spinach pie)for the first time, it was really lovely, so I will be back for more, my friend had a lovely home made soup.The coffe is great too, even a soya latte. Costa eat your heart out!!

Came in for lunch with a friend and had to say that the owner was friendly and personable. Had a quick sandwich lunch which was freshly made and a hot coffee for a quick catch up.

I've ticked this 'very good' mainly for the service and choice of savoury 'healthy food' options that you don't often find in a Cafe. It is situated in a busy part of East Barnet Village but the relaxed outdoor seating offers a chance to forget all the busyness. Service was good and friendly. This is a convenient place for 'after school' snacks when keeping the kids on a busy schedule and keeping a parent topped up with energy/coffee.

El Sr. Ludo es tan acogedora. Su frituras son un gran regalo! Él tiene una buena variedad de pasteles para el té de la tarde, un buen lugar para traer a los niños directamente de la escuela. Los niños incluso felicitarlo por el chocolate caliente, diciendo, 'que sabe mejor que Costa!" nunca he vuelto a Costa ya!! El Sr. Ludo siempre es fastidioso sobre la calidad de su café, él regularmente cheques a ver si es fresca, si no, todo va a la basura. Él dice que él quiere calidad para sus clientes. Donde más se puede conseguir un dueño que pondría en frente de lucro calidad.

If going to the village always get a coffee for Dave and myself. They are nice people there.Parking is easy too.

This is a gem of a place. Great coffee and cake and very friendly and attentive staff. Please support local businesses and go here and not to the generic, bland Costa Coffee.

I love this place as its got such a warm, friendly atmosphere. You often get welcomed personally by Ludo himself, who seems genuinely pleased to see his customers. There is a huge selection of tasty food that is made up fresh on the premises, lots for children too. You never feel rushed even when the Cafe is really busy.

A standard cafe which seems popular with the locals. The food offering is pretty limited and seems mainly somewhere to go for a drink rather than food. A nice outside seating area is an option if that suits. Service is very good but they could do with extending the food range.

This place is brilliant for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. The stars are all wonderfully friendly, and the food is delicious. For such a small cafe, they offer a great selection of food. You can get anything from sandwiches to spaghetti Bolognese. Would highly recommend. I love finding small local businesses that have lots to offer.

I agree with the earlier reviews - the coffee is first class, the range of snacks / meals excellent and moderately priced, but the magic difference about this establishment is the warm and friendly atmosphere engendered by Ludovik and his assistants. As there are so many cafes in East Barnet it might be helpful to say that Ludos is situated at no 3 Cat Hill at one end of the mini-parade featuring a Gun Shop, Launderette, Gents Barber, Thai restaurant and Opticians

I pop in here regularly for a coffee and a sandwich or cake.There is always a very friendly atmosphere and the food is always delicious.Recommended

Extremely friendly owner and staff with excellent range of sandwiches, hot snacks etc. make this an oasis in an otherwise desert of "coffee houses". Free Wifi add to it's attractions. Always full with locals which shows its quality.
