Given up ,no longer go into the conservatory due to the debacle that is ordering/leaving dog tied up !!! Decided whilst waiting for shop to open I would get a coffee from the pantry (as I had my dog with me )stood at door ,requested oat decaf cappuccino “ we don’t do oat milk” was the response Really !!! it’s all a joke now ,what’s happened to what was once a very special place to enjoy quality food and hospitality ?I have given up now.

It seems that this place, which is now adjoining the Ludlow Kitchen on the way into Shrewsbury, used to be on the High Street in Ludlow. We were driving past and called in for a coffee. You pay for your dingks, and any other titbits you may have picked up, and then make your own coffee (or tea) from the two machines standing against one of the walls. It is purely takeaway (there are seats available outside the Ludlow Kitchen or you can drink your coffee in your car in the adjoining car park). OK for a quick cup of coffee

This looks a nice smart place and the staff and variety of food do not let it down. But don't order the pasty, the pastry is soggy and the contents are grey. Other food comes through better. Nice salads and nice cakes. Worth a stop but choose wisely

Popped in here to get rolls for lunch as it looked good from outside. It was quite busy with customers and everything looked very appetising. Nice choice of rolls with lots local produce. Rolls www freshly made to order bit of a wait but my goodness worth it. We could have made do with one ham and cheese roll it was so generously full! Such delicious rolls and no more that you would pay for a run of the mill sandwich in supermarket.

This small local cafe has just a few tables for eating in but is worth a visit for a lunch. The food is sourced locally and while not cheap or perhaps the very best quality I did enjoy the Estate Box (a small selection of local meat, cheese, salad, bread etc) which was delicious. My husbands sandwich didn't quite live up to my expectation being on a large sub roll rather than fresh bread, however he enjoyed it and he did say the roll was lovely and fresh. I did find the slice of chocolate cake I had very weird tasting, it had an overwhelming taste of something like honey, was incredibly sweet and frankly quite dry. It looked a lot nicer than it tasted. Probably the worst chocolate cake I have ever had, perhaps it had been stood around for a couple of days. I might just have been unlucky. The drinks were nice, the decaffeinated mocha in particular was lovely. It is very small and has only 4 tables and unfortunately it does not have toilets which is a shame but still it is worth a visit. Some items are slightly average but overall a good selection of nice food.

My last visit to the Ludlow Pantry resulted in a disappointing experience and a negative review but I am delighted to say that everything is now back to happiness with lovely coffee and two attentive and delightful members of staff looking after customers on 13/05/16. We popped in for a quick coffee and it was delicious and expressly served with a smile, no noisy banter or larks this time just an enjoyable relaxing atmosphere like you would expect from this outreach of the celebrated Ludlow Food Centre. We didn't have time for anything to eat but the other guests appeared to be enjoying the lovely looking cakes on offer, there are lots of places to enjoy food in Ludlow and we will put the Pantry back on our list of places we like.

The Pantry was empty and due to close in about 20 mins when we popped our heads round the door and asked if they were still serving, yes was the answer from the staff. Between us we had a coffee, a pot of tea and toasted hot cross buns which were delicious. My only reservation was that my tea cup was very stained inside, but otherwise all was good.

Ludlow Food Centre's 'in town' presence offering a 'fix' of their quality coffee, snacks and cakes in the centre of town.Very welcoming and helpful service in what is a smart, comfortable, albeit compact, café environment.Excellent range of quality, tasty snacks and cakes available to serve all tastes. The only downside at present is the somewhat small seating area, but this looks set to expand, in which case, to be ensured of somewhere to sit will only improve it's 'eat-in' popularity.

I went to the Ludlow Pantry a few months ago, and had since forgotten the name. In fact I forgot most of the details of the visit - all else was rendered insignificant upon tasting a Ludlow butter bun for the first time. Even before I tasted it, it was love at first sight. I vaguely remember that the cafe was pretty to look at, and comfortable. I vaguely remember having some sort of pleasant caffeinated drink. I seem to recall that the person who served me the bun was nice, and didn't take a great deal of money for it. But, oh, the bun! If you've never tasted one before, I strongly recommend that you travel to Ludlow immediately and try one.

I like Ludlow Pantry more for its looks than anything else. It has a pretty shop front and interior, and shelves of delectable looking products to take home. There aren't many tables, and it can be a struggle to move about if you have a pram, but the friendly staff helped out my friend and I. It's a nice spot for relaxing with friends and cooling off with an ice-cream milkshake.Perhaps not great for breakfast though. I had a cafetiere of colombian coffee that wasn't up to scratch, granary toast with a tiny pot of black currant jam with some whole berries - both tasty, and an edible but not moreish Gloucester old spot ham and cheddar sourdough toastie. What's especially disappointing about the food is that the menu creates such high expectations which the food fails to meet. The toastie for example should have tasted like it had special ham and artisan bread, but it was instead ordinary. The food doesn't live up to the cafe's reputation, but it's still a lovely place to unwind with friends.

I used to enjoy my visits to the Ludlow Pantry but my latest visit last week, (January 2016) was a disappointment. The Ludlow Food Centre who provide the food and services at this cafe/deli have deservedly won awards for their outstanding quality food and service but the Ludlow Food Pantry which is a satellite establishment a couple of miles away in Ludlow town centre does not offer the same service. The food may be the same but my coffee was not brilliant and my time drinking it was spoilt by banter and unprofessional joking around by the staff behind the counter. You would expect that an establishment carrying the reputation of its illustrious parent would offer a calm respectful ambience but the staff appear more interested in having fun among themselves to the customers detriment. Maybe I was unlucky and the staff were letting off post Christmas steam but I do not want to sit and have my relaxation ruined by loud jokey behaviour more akin to a night out on the town. On previous visits I struggled to get a seat as the Pantry was so popular but on this occasion I found myself almost alone with only a couple of other people there so maybe others share my view? I will not be returning for a while, hopefully some staff training can turn things around and get back to putting customers first.

Had a quick lunch in the Ludlow Pantry a few days ago. On the positive, nice ambiance, friendly staff, lots of lovely looking things to buy. On the negative a very measly smoked chicken sandwich with a few salad leaves and some dressing on the side. The chicken was nice, the bread was good there just wasn't enough of it to justify the price of £5.99! Also no toilet.

This is where we Brits get suckered. A business calls its self a deli and we are pre programmed with a Pavlovian response to imagine it's all going to be fantastic. The SO and I were hungry and looking for a tasty snack to boost our retail energies and thought we'd try the Ludlow Pantry for lunch. Ordered a ham and smoked cheese sandwich and a sausage roll. The sandwich was presented in what seemed seconds and turned out to be a huge sesame covered 'subway' style torpedo, with virtually no filling and missing the much acclaimed mustard Mayo. The roll which allegedly comes form the much vaunted bakery at the Ludlow Food Centre was frankly dreadful, dry and very obviously mass produced by non artisan bakers. The sausage roll was rather bouncy in texture and in fact made the SO gag. £11 something for these depressingly dull comestibles and two small Americanos. Very poor fare indeed and we certainly won't be returning. The tiny Harp Lane deli is a far better bet with consistently good coffee and real deli food and supplies not the dreadful disneyfied and unnecessary tat from this place.

We chose this place to have a light breakfast as I am the only one in the family who is a fan of a Full English and most of the alternatives in the town centre cater for that kind of breakfast. The Ludlow Pantry is a an outlet for produce from the Ludlow Food Centre, about 2.5 miles north of the town on the A49. Our choice was for croissant, pain au chocolat and fresh coffee. All of which was excellent. Also available were bacon and sausage toasties and baps and again all locally produced. Judging by the number 'of people who called in to pick up food 'to go' it has devoted regulars and it was easy to see why.

We called in on a Monday following our visit around the lovely town of Ludlow, with its different shops and great buildings. We had cappuccinos which had proper chocolate shavings on, home made fruit cake which was delicious and the best carrot and corriander soup that Chris had tasted. Home made ice creams, cheese toasties and deli produce and breads, which are made fresh daily from the nearby Ludlow Food Centre, (also worth a visit) made it a very enjoyable visit. We then journeyed on and had a lovely walk over the Long Mynd.Regards Gary Saunders

Visited with Husband and 2 children. Had 2 hot pasties (1 veg and 1 meat), 2 sausage rolls, 2 pots of tea and 1 bottle of sparkling blackcurrant. Cost about £16 which I thought was good value. Pasties and tea were excellent. Everything was wonderful until my Son needed the toilet and they haven't got one! My Husband had to gulp his tea down and run him across the market square to the horrible public toilets. Real shame.

So what's not to like about a place that sells good food for consumption both on and off the premises. Lets start with the food - it's great, well prepared and well presented. The drinks - well prepared and well presented. The cakes - oh my waistline, if you need to loose weight don't go to this establishment!! They sell a range of chutnies, cheeses, sauces, teas, coffees, etc. etc. It was not without a little cunning manouvering that I did manage to secure the last two seats on a busy Saturday and a decent luch ensued. We have visited this cafe (for want of a different description although shop might be nearer the mark) many times and have never failed to be delighted.

Meat, bread, and, cheese are but a few of the products they sell which come from their own farm. Sit in or take out their food is excellent! Great tea's and coffee's, cakes and pastry, and sandwiches (oh what delicious sandwiches). This place is 'probably' the best cafe we have ever visited. Oh, one last thing - the staff are considerate, thoughtful and very helpful i.e. service as it should be! p.s. We visited at lunch time looking for a table for two. We were directed to a table by the nod of a head. The food range is ok but the quality leaves much to be desired. The coffee was freshly made - but cold? The food tepid. Price wise - a £2.00 surcharge on a sandwich to dine in a cramped, draughty shop front is unacceptable. The service is severely lacking to the point of one indolent member of staff (manageress??) being downright ignorant in her manner to anyone she didn't recognise. Do yourself a favour - get your coffee at Costa - it's just down the road and is better and cheaper and then pick one of the deli's for a bite to each. Whatever - avoid the Ludlow Pantry!! You have been warned.
