Lucky Star in Blackpool

Only my personal opinion.. everyone pallet is different.. had chicken with honey and chilli, chicken had no batter, sauce was like water, salt and chicken wings, they were tiny bit much meat and fried rice was yellow, no egg to see obviously no soy sauce.. again this is all personal.. was the foot delivered on time and edible.. yes it was, will I order again?? No I won't.. not bad, I obviously have a different taste

I only went in for special fried rice and a curry sauce ( waste of money) I asked the girl on the desk to tell the chef to please put meat in the dish as got none the last time she said it’s as it comes … she didn’t ask for it as I heard her give the order ! The rice looked like cous cous and tasted awful 😣 I will never be back here again , nothing special about the rice at all was minging! 👎

Dirty old oil smell as soon as you opened it . Chicken chowmain tates old and burnt . Chicken balls taste like wet bread chips smelled and looked discusting. This place should be shut down full stop

The takeaway menu has got very expensive. £19/£20 on order before pandemic. Now for the same as what I used to order now £27.

Had a Chinese delivered last night for the first time and my last ..all the food went in the bin cost £16.80 for chicken balls over cooked hardly any chicken in some ..fried rice .honey ribs hard and prawn crackers rang them got nowhere ..I asked about delivery and it's £1.40 now because drivers are expensive due to what's happening..well anybody useing The Lucky Star on eastpines be careful there's lots of very good ones in cleveleys.

Never ordered from here before but the place was recommended by a few people I knew. Me and my partner ordered X2 curry’s X1 rice and X1 portion of salt and pepper chips. Not the hardest order in the world, right? 2 hours we waited for the food surely if there is a wait that long you should let your customers know. We get a call from the delivery driver who speaks down the phone in a awful manner he’s getting cross as he can’t find the house number (it really wasn’t that hard) I was even stood outside waving at him. After he shouted down the phone that he ‘couldn’t find the house’ about 10 minutes later he pulls up and practically throws the food at my partner gets in his car and revs his 1litre can up the road. I thought maybe he’s just having a bad day but even so the way he spoke was unnecessary whilst you’re working so I phoned the Chinese up really polite and explained there’s better ways you can go about situations & certainly better ways to be spoke to. Finally got sat down for food & the rice was freezing. Chips were hard and freezing. Curries practically cold. I rang the shop asking if it was possible to get a full refund & we return the food ( to save the driver coming out we offered coming back) she said this wasn’t possible. I asked if we could have some fresh food as I had paid already. She said it wasn’t possible because ‘’you’re the only customer that has complained’’ not ‘’I’m really sorry about your order, what can we do to help’’ so I asked what could be done and she said ‘’nothing I’m afraid & hung up’’ Before the nice mature women on the phone hung up I asked to speak to a manager & got told they don’t speak English... 0 customer service 0 manners I then later look on GOOGLE REVIEW & see you do make this a regular thing. Maybe hire someone who’s capable of 1 cooking and 2 dealing with complaints.

We come from Huddersfield to visit my parents, this is the best Chinese we have found wish they where in Huddersfield.

Not a huge order, just a large portion of rice+chips with curry sauce. Walking home I though this feels incredibly light. Opened it and about half a handful of soggy chips welded together, quarter of a cup of rice and about a table spoon of curry sauce.... £4.80!!! Never again absolutely shocking.

When we lived in Cleveleys we always used The Luck Star Chinese. Since we moved to Fleetwood we have tried three or four different places. Never 100% happy with what we got, either the rice was sweaty or something else was wrong. On one occasion the curry was so hot in spice it spoilt the meal. When we phoned they said you should have said less spicy. That's the first time we have heard you have to say this. Anyway we investigated if the Lucky Star would deliver to Fleetwood & they said yes. We ordered the same as we would anywhere else but the difference was unbelievable. They are far & away the best Chinese we have tasted. No excuse if the woman was rude but if you use Just Eat to order you don't talk to anyone.

Never had a bad experience, always been good service and lovely food. Sometimes I collect and sometimes have the food delivered, delivery is usually quick depending on the time of order.

I for the first time ordered a food delivery from Lucky Star. The service was excellent, delivered within 20 mins of ordering. The food quality was excellent. We will certainly be ordering from Lucky Star again

The first time I ordered a meal, it took 95 minutes to arrive. I rang and was given serious attitude by a woman called Steph. Her words were ' we are busy, do you want it or not?' I was shocked. The food finally arrived after we had ordered pizza from somewhere else and gone to bed. I just accepted it and put it in the fridge, it was too late to argue. Two weeks later I ordered again putting it down to a one off bad experience. I have an allergy to onions to specifically requested no onions in my main meal, I even rang to reiterate this, but again got the 'lovely Steph' who was as rude as the come. The meal arrived 45 mins later but was packed with onions, I rang up to say I could not eat it and pointed out that I had specified this and been assured by another member of staff that my dietary requirements would be met. He apologised and said a new meal would be sent immediately, I said I would provide the one I could not eat in exchange. I waited and waited, no substitute meal arrived. I went to bed hungry. The following day I rang lucky Star and asked to be put through to the manager, an arrogant, extremely rude Steph informed me that the owner could not speak English and to 'deal with me or nothing' I was furious at her attitude. I said then provide me with a refund, she said 'you can have a credit note, take it or leave it' I have never in all my life been treated so rudely, to date I have never received a refund and all attempts to go above 'Steph' are met with her increasing insults and ridicule. I am appalled at how I have been treated and talking to people plus googling show similar experiences with 'Steph' The food is average at best, but the customer service from 'Steph' is the worst I have ever known. She is rude, insulting, laughs in your face and is ruining any chance this business has of succeeding. I sincerely hope the management wake up and deal with this vile, rude, disrespectful woman.

Awful food. Soup so thick the spoon stood up on its own. Cold soggy chips, dry duck. Regret ordering from here. To top it off the response to our complaint was ‘OH WELL’, how rude !!!!!! Not even an apology, do not go here!

Ordered chicken and mushroom, crispy shredded beef in Cantonese sauce, duck in plum sauce, shredded salt and pepper chicken and special fried rice. The food was nice apart from the salt and pepper chicken. It had no taste to it whatsoever and it was like it had been reheated several times. It was far too crunchy and when cut in half there wasn’t any chicken in sight! It seemed as though it was just batter! The portions are alright but I have been to far better chinese takeaways that charge much less for larger portions. Also, woman on the till was very rude and helpless, she needs to learn some manners! I don’t think we will be returning anytime soon.

We love this Chinese, it’s the best around in Cleveleys. It is reasonable priced and the portions are good. They do get very busy at times so if your having it delivered it can take upto 1 hour 30mins. It’s worth the wait. It’s all cooked fresh , which I like to know.

My friend and I call into lucky star last night friday 26th October 18. We both got chicken curry.. it was disgusting. Never seen chicken like that. And the curry sauce was to think. I also bought chilli chip. Which looked and tasted like they were a week old. Very disappointing. Also I call them up and they wasnt interested Very poor

Always a good choice for Chinese take away. This is a preferred restaurant and has always been decent when we have regularly ordered. Friendly staff and quick delivery.

Used to use this take away all the time at least once a week at £40+ each time, but for some reason its suddenly gone down hill. The portions are small, the quality is poor, the last order was cold and things were missing. So we changed take aways and haven't gone back.

I ordered from lucky star because it had good reviews on just eat. I’ve honestly never had a Chinese as bad as this. The salt and chilli chips were scratty skinny chips with a load spices thrown on them.. tasted like cinnamon! The chicken balls were just a soggy bit of chicken in batter, the sweet and sour sauce left an awful taste in your mouth.. the rice.. the only thing I thought was ok. The free prawn crackers were the best part of the meal. Please trust me when I say.. never go here. You’ll be left feeling disappointed. Would give it no stars if I could.

This used to be our go-to Chinese takeaway however, recently they have gone down hill. I ordered a takeaway today and I knew they would be a bit busy because it's new year's day. However, an hour and a half after we ordered I rang up to check how long it would be and they said they would start making our food next and that it would take 20 minutes. 45 minutes later the takeaway arrived. So we had been waiting 2 hours and 15 minutes in total which is just ridiculous. When we got our food, the chips were cold and soggy and I had to shred my own duck which was a joke. The duck was over cooked and we were not pleased. They did apologise for taking so long however, I would not recommend this place and we won't be going back in the future which is such a shame!

Es difícil encontrar un buen Chino por estas partes que tienen una clasificación de cinco estrellas, higiene/permitirá ordenar y pagar en línea, c/entregar y d/es en realidad agradable! Este chino se ajusta a estas cuatro cosas y nos fastidió luego nos quedamos encantados porque nos a cosas que hemos encontrado! Recomiendo el pato en salsa de naranja (es deliciosa) y la carne crujiente en salsa de chili dulce.

Tonight I hadn't touched half because I started to feel what you call weird/funky and jaw started to ache and feel strange and numb! I also went a little dizzy. All I can describe it as being off your box which I can assure you I am not. And to then find the food hygiene rating is 1 star :/... I feel drugged is all I can say and describe. I personally won't use again

Perhaps I ordered wrongly, but the mixed combination starter was just awful. The ribs & chicken were very dry & the remaining pastries were incredibly greasy. I won't be ordering again I'm afraid.

The best Chinese takeaway in the north west by far!!! Excellent... never disappoints... would never change. Had quarter duck and beef in green pepper and black bean sauce.

Food was great as always and delivered quickly! However when I added my chips to the basket it asked me if I would also like cheese, the cheese then came as a cheese slice which had been put with all the other food so it was melted and could not even be taken out of the wrapper!

It's the first time I've ordered from hear and it will be the last the food was disgusting the onion rings was too salty and couldn't be eaten for the salt the rice was over cooked and dry we ordered the chicken curry and it was so bad it had to be thrown in the bin as it just wasn't edible all in all a complete disappointment unless you want salty overcooked dry food order from hear otherwise pick somewhere else

We always order from Lucky Star and have never been disappointed until tonight. We ordered 3 crispy beef meals. When they arrived there was NO beef in the batter in any of them. I phoned the takeaway to tell them and had to deal with THE rudest man on the phone. He offered to replace the mains but the rice and chips would then be cold. We will NOT order from here again due to the way we were treated. Get a new call handler Lucky Star before you lose all your business!!

Food was cold when it arrived half an hour after it was supposed to, in total waited an hour and a half after order to receive food. Rang the takeaway to ask where it was and was spoken to very rudely as the girl asked the address and before I finished speaking she muttered yeah it's on it's way and hung up on me. Will not be ordering from here again!!

Ordered for delivery which arrived hot and in good time. Sadly the delivery person was less than courteous managing to say no more than 2 words neither of which were please or thank you. Despite this we would order again because the price for quality, speed of delivery and overall enjoyable food warrants a re-order.

Chose main course meals, when the driver arrived he charged us for the fried rice, which should have been included in the price, not happy bunnies. In future if we want main course meals will phone for them. Awaiting response from just eat price promise

After much consideration we decided to try this takeaway for the first time, worst decision to make ever. All the dishes looked like the driver was a tad peckish on his way to our address, prawn crackers were orange so I'm unsure why they were this colour when usually they are just white. Salt and Chilli chips were literally just "pepper chips." Nothing else. I think they were a little heavy handed when seasoning with the pepper on all three dishes we ordered to be honest. Restaurant called us 5 or so times, to get address due to them not being able to find it, even though I provided directions on each occasion, and a postcode. I explained that if lost ring blame but they called me only when driver was half way back to the takeaway which meant the food was freezing cold. For the money, it was absolutely ridiculous as it was only something I could feed my dog. Thanks Lucky Star

Unfortunately the food was delivered late. The salt and chilli chicken wings were delicious however the chicken in Peking sauce was the weirded tasting one I've ever had!
