I’ve ordered some spring rolls, chicken balls + sweet and sour sauce, mushrooms and beef, beef friend rice and Singaporean chow mien. When I say that was the most AMAZING Chinese I’ve ever tasted in my life, I really mean it. Their food is the best! Also I got to say, they gave the nicest and the friendliest staff there! When I went there, they made my day so much happier❤️ Definitely recommend for everyone!! P.s. that is my new favorite Chinese food place😊 thank you guys❤️

Found this Chinese during lockdown when my usual one was taking 90mins to deliver food. Have not regretted it and have not used any other since. Food is always really good and hot. We get the same delivery driver too which is good as its helps with their customer service.

Ordered a takeaway tonight for pick up , young girl answered and was rude , normally nice old lady who answers the phone, ordered my usual food, went to pick it up, and never saw the old couple, went home to eat my Chinese and the quality wasn’t the same standard, definitely new owners, won’t be going back there again

Run by different people now and all I can say is dont order from here it was un eatable !!!! I phone them to say about some of the food and they wouldn’t refund me and said they to small to give money back but they can give you bad food I ordered 27 pound worth of food and did eat it as was so bad tasted of oil and fryer DONT Order or waste your money

Not impressed at all with the meal. After reading the reviews we really wanted to give it a try as another option to our usual takeaway. Chilli beef was lovely. Rice dishes very bland. Chow mein didn't appear fried was just like boiled egg noodles. Beef curry was so coconut(y) we could not eat and had to throw away. Chicken balls yummy. All in all would never order from here again unless we wanted just chicken balls and chips

I would strongly recommend Never ordering from this restaurant, which has a total lack of understanding of good service, integrity, respect for consumers and fulfilling a service commitment. I ordered for a delivery through Just Eat and the order was confirmed to be delivered in an hour. About 10 minutes in, I received a phone call from a Just Eat customer operator that the restaurant was going to cancel the order because they couldn't provide a VAT receipt (which I had requested in the order notes). Firstly, they should have contacted and asked me first whether I wanted the order cancelled because of the reason above. Secondly it does not seem rational to cancel an order simply because of a receipt and it was depressing that both the restaurant and the Just Eat operator did not show the competence to arrive at the same conclusion. It seemed an excuse for the restaurant to cancel an order as they were falling behind with the workload (the operator did mention they were busy and running late on orders). I asked the operator to fulfil the order without the receipt and to get back to me. She never did get back. At which point I contacted an operator through the Just Eat app chat to check the status of my delivery. She called the restaurant and said they would deliver it in 20 minutes which was earlier than the expected delivery time to which I said I would be fine with the original agreed time, at which point I got cut off. I had to reestablish my chat with yet another Just Eat operator and explain the situation all over, where she called the restaurant to confirm, which now said 15 minutes to my delivery which I was fine with. 5 minutes later I received a phone call from another Just Eat operator saying the restaurant wanted to cancel the order again, to which I said that was not acceptable. I had to explain the whole situation again to the operator where he then agreed that he would get the restaurant to fulfil the order as per the first conversation and get back to me. Just after the agreed delivery time, I received the phone call from him stating that the restaurant was cancelling the delivery and nothing else could be done. So I was left with no food more than an hour after my order, having to move on to my next appointment being hungry the whole evening. Is this a fair service?

After our own local Chinese closed down last month, we have been stuck. Until a friend recommended Lucky House. We had out first meal from them last night, and i have to say the food was excellent, very generous amounts of meat, even the king prawns they were generous with, quite unusual as king prawns are expensive and most places won't give you more than a couple, we had four in both our chow mein and rice. it was well cooked and fresh. i notice the council "scores on the doors" hygiene certificate is a 5, so they take hygiene seriously, which is so important. lastly the cost was quite frankly amazing for the amount of food we had it was still under £30 for three people.

Amazing food with an authentic taste and additions to menu unlike most in this area. Best Chinese ever experienced. Just as good as the restaurants in Hong Kong. Very nice people. Will never order Chinese elsewhere.

Absolutely appalled by the experience we had on Sat night. Booked a table for 11 people (family came down from Ipswich, a yearly catch up). It was booked a couple of months ago and confirmed on the day. Was never told there were a few sittings. Our meal came fairly quickly and all was good up to that point. As soon as our meal was finished so our bill came which we never asked for as we were still drinking. They never even asked if we wanted a dessert or further drinks. We sat for a short while but was asked to leave as they needed the table. We were fuming as it had only been just over an hour since we got there. A long way to come for an hour. Needless to say we will not be going there again. So please when booking there make sure they tell how long you have.

We visited for my husband‘s birthday. We were a table of five and arrived at 7 pm. On arrival. We were the only diners in the restaurant. Three other tables were occupied by the time that we left 9 pm. This was a sat night. The menu has changed fewer choices or maybe fewer fine dining choices. The signature dish seemed to be the steak either steak on the stone or cooked so we opted for steak. The menu even contains a little joke. “Don’t ask the chef to cook well or medium well “ I opted for medium rare so when it arrived, I struggled to find the pink meat. I also ordered some garlic bread for our daughters, it arrived smothered in cheese but no mention that it would have cheese both daughters don’t eat cheese . The waiting staff require additional training. A female server. Didn’t even apologise when I complained about my steak instead told me it would be a further 15 minutes for a new piece , that wouldn’t work as everyone else had been served. They would’ve been nearly finished when mine arrived. Her solution was to scrap the order all together, but I came to a restaurant to eat. That wasn’t a good solution, the senior server, or maybe the manager later came over and offered to compensate for the steaks and provided a discount, which is really good of him, the chips could’ve been triple cooked for that crispy restaurant feel they suspiciously look like they may have come out of a packet also . After we complained about the steaks, we didn’t receive any additional service. We had to request a desert menu, being gluten-free. I asked what was gluten-free on the menu. I was told nothing it’s not completely unusual but usually you’re offered either ice cream or sorbet. We had the feeling that we were no longer wanted so forfeited the deserts for our table of five, asked for the bill and left, one of our diners was in a wheelchair, no point did anyone offer to open the door so we navigate of the double doors ourselves and left disappointed . Positively the cocktails and the beers were delicious. My recommendation would be hire some staff that smile or are attentive, become a bar and do what you are good at. This used to be one of my husband’s favourite restaurants in Southend. I’m not sure will visit again though. Bad times!

The waitress was an absolute star, she persevered with two pensioners. The fish and chips were a tad disappointing, though the fish was well cooked, the chips were suffering from anaemia. I would struggle to describe the mushy peas but my wife's side salad was brilliant. All in all, a little disappointing, though we would go again.
