We have been coming here as a family for a long time. We are pleased with the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly service. They are always happy to see us and remember our names. We always get the salt and chilli prawns and the sweet and sour chicken (Cantonese style). We also love their curry sauce as it is too thin and watery and has lots of flavour.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The portions were large. The food quality was excellent. Highly recommend.

Having tried many other Chinese takeaways over the years, me and my family all agree that Lucky House is by far the best. I usually have some form of chicken and it is always so succulent and tender (which many others really fail at). Even when I try cooking at home, it never comes out as juicy. Great choice of meals. We all love, love, love this takeaway. The staff are very friendly and you never have to wait very long for your order... BEST EVER!!! 😃

I ordered for collection for A party of 4. I arrived home and dished out the food all seemed ok until I looked at my Chicken chow mein. Well I should have said "chow mein" NO CHICKEN. So I thought this was just a mistake which is annoying as this would mean a return trip to the shop. So I called the restaurant to let them know and expect a partial refund on next visit. No, all I got was an argument stating that there was chicken. (Customer always right??) ..no ..just get fobbed off. Not even an apology, disgusted yes. annoyed yes. I was going to go back and complain. So instead I thought I would write this review instead. Hopefully they will read this review and realise that a few kind words of apology for the sake of a few pieces of chicken they have lost a customer and probably a few more no doubt. My friends ended up sharing their meals with me. Utterly discusted

I've been now a number of times and have always had good food and good service. Duck in Orange sauce is wonderful and I look forward to working my way through much more of their menu over time.

This chinese takeaway is the best I have experienced! I have tried many different places but by far this is fantabulous! I have been to many different chinese takeaways as well as trying them in different parts of the country but nothing compares. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is out of this world! The service is quick and seems to be effortless with the quality.

Great Food This is by far the best and we always go back to this one (we've been to loads of Chinese takeaways, in the local area and on holidays). When it was closed for Covid-19, we tried others and they did not compare (food taste). Great Service Always greeted by name on the phone when ordering and in person when picking up (we're now regulars to be fair). Fast Doesn't take long from ordering on the phone to picking it up. 15 mins max usually. Biggest issue CASH ONLY - especially considering the times we now live in This may affect you - Closed on Mondays (like most Chinese's) - Do not deliver Kid's view "The food is really nice" Daughter "Dad, you've got to go on Trip Advisor and say we love Lucky House" Son Overall FAB

Best chinese i’ve ever had. Salty chilli chips are a must. Only not scoring 5 stars because they do not deliver, i would definitely order more from here if they did.

Me and my partner order a takeaway almost every weekend and it is consistently good! We always have chips, noodles, Cantonese chicken in BBQ sauce and extra BBQ sauce for our chips. My family also have chicken curry and special chow mein which they say is the best they’ve had. Always exceptionally polite customer service, couldn’t fault anything. Always get greeted with a big smile and remember our name and order. Will never go anywhere else!

Food was very good and service excellent. Had returned after disappointing food at my usual Takeaway. Batter could have been a little crisper and sauces a a little less sweet,b ut overall good.

Would not recommend, food was dry & tasteless, battered chicken balls were in undercooked batter on the inside with a small bit of dry chicken inside, chow mein had a few tough king prawns in it, was highly disappointed, mixed starter for £7 was also tasteless & dried up, will not go back, there are far better takeaways in Shirley

Ordered the food, was overcharged on extras i did not order, got home and there was 3 pieces of duck in the dinner called them up to mention this to them and the lady was rude saying i was lying and it wasn't true, the duck what they gave us was fatty even the dog wouldn't eat it, lady was so rude DO NOT EAT AT THIS CHINESE

I’m not local to this area and this Chinese Takeaway was open on a Tuesday so I gave it a go as the one nearest me was closed. Really friendly service when I ordered. Cooked quickly and tasted nice. Would have again, although slightly more expensive than I would normally pay.

This is our 2nd delivery to our home and the quality of the food we ordered is just on a par with high quality Chinese restaurants in this city and our capital, I hope my review does not hinder this fantastic takeaway, what a little gem in kitts green village as we used to know it , thanks lucky house

First thing I will say is the king prawn balls were very fresh and tasty, the best I’ve tasted in Solihull. Ribs were ok, not much meat on them, they need to use better quality ribs. Rice and noodles not bad.

Excellent food and fantastic friendly service. The chicken curry is so tasty and the maAt is tender and beautiful. 10/10 Been having take sways from here for many years

We have been ordering from here for some years now. The orders are taken efficiently and in a friendly manner. Food is always ready in 10-15 minutes. There is a great selection of food to choose from and it is always reliably good. I have never been disappointed with an order from here.

The highlight of my week is a takeaway meal from Lucky House. The best takeaway for miles around, the only place that runs them close is the (more expensive restaurant) Fortune Inn and that is just across the street. The chilli chips are simply sensational.

Go here often only downside is they don't deliver but otherwise great, lovely fresh Chinese takeaway you won't beat it locally

Lucky house Chinese takeaway, food not too bad unless you order roast chicken in gravy, it is ALWAYS fried to death the meat is drier than an Iranians flip flop. but the spring rolls are good.

Very Busy so means good Chinese also food and repete customers, friendly staff and parking outside to collect if you get a space!

Visita aquí regularmente por un chino para llevar. Señora que toma los pedidos es muy amable y servicial. Hace la comida cómo los que pedirlo y no te importa cambiar y retocar platos para su preferencia, muy servicial. Nunca he tenido una mala experiencia y la comida ha sido siempre listo cuando dijo. Always use this Chinese. It doesn't deliver, but making the effort to collect is worth it. Food always piping hot and very tasty. Never had a bad meal from here.

Este es un gran comida para llevar! Comida realmente deliciosa! Sé que suena como un plato sencillo y que tengo normalmente un menú para llevar desestimó el pollo Satay de arranque pero es deliciosa! Mi pareja y yo acabamos de regresar de un viaje a Tailandia y valorar el satay contra nuestra comida para llevar local. El menú es muy extenso un montón para elegir. Los pagos en efectivo sólo se toman, así que no te olvides de tu dinero!

As many other recent reviews have pointed out, used to be a really great Chinese Takeaway. Used at least once or twice a week. Food is now very poor and disappointing. Look for other options.

Another good takeaway from Lucky House. I've read one or two negative reviews on here but have to report we've never had a poor experience. Cantonese-style sweet and sour chicken this time with prawn crackers. Waited whilst it was cooked and everything was perfect. Very friendly lady who runs it too.

A real shame as this used to be the best takeaway around Shirley and Solihull. Changed hands and the difference is unbelievable. Would have rated this 5 stars on at least 30 occasions previously but is, the search for a new Chinese commences. A real shame.

Phoned and pre-ordered a meal for half 9. Arrived at the said time and all the food ready and piping hot. Got home and bit into perfectly cooked chicken in batter. Amazing burst of flavour. Chicken chow mean again lots of flavour and cooked how it shoukd be. Words cannot describe how nice the chicken fried rice was :D wow. Definitely would recommend and I may increase my 1 Chinese a week to maybe several :D

We have just had the worse take away ever! Lucky house Shirley used to be very good when Fay was there now it's changed hands it's shocking. Special house curry with NO spice at all. And I mean NO! It was as if they had forgotten. It was crap. I eat about 1/6 when I decided ' that enough' So disappointed because after a long week that was my treat and now I feel

We have used the Lucky House for many years and despite trying others in the area with friends, we always come back to this one. Fast and efficient service, an extensive menu, ample sized portions and piping hot food. We have never had anything to complain about. Good parking in the service road in front of the shop.

We have used this take away for the last 5 years. The food is fantastic, tastes great and is always ready 'in 10 minutes!' We have never had a bad meal from here and tHere is a great choice.

Have been using this takeaway for years. However recently some meals have been disappointing. Just received sweet and sour chicken, Cantonese style, with two pieces of chicken the rest being just chewy batter! Need to find a new takeaway!

The food here is always great and the staff are so friendly but I've noticed the price has shot up for some reason?

The take away is under new management and although the front of house are very welcoming and friendly the food is not the same! So sad as it was the best take away for miles and now although the food is not horrible it is quite tasteless and as my usual dish would be Singapore noodles or fried rice that is not good as this is a supposed to be a spicy dish.

Always a warm welcome and the food is always fantastic. Service is quick even at busy times, highly recommended.

We love The Lucky House, the food is super and we have been purchasing our takeaways from here for 12 years now, and don't go anywhere else but here for our chinese food. We have got to know Faye who is a really warm and always has time for a quick chat. There is a good choice and the food is reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

We have used this takeaway for a few years now. We have lived in the area for 20+ years and tired nearly all food venues in the area. Lucky house is by far the best Chinese takeaway available. Both owners Ted and his wife Faye are extremely friendly and helpful in assisting in your choice. The food is very fresh and cooked to a high standard. Never disappointed.100% recommend and everyone we have, have never been disappointed.
