Ideal for reasonably priced Italian food of an above average quality for the price. Recommended.

Food was amazing. We were served by Fernando. He was absolutely amazing. His attitude was immense. He was funny and made us feel at home. Very personal touch. We were unable to finish our meal as it was alot (which was great), so Fernando put it in a tub for us to take home and enjoy tomorrow and gave us instructions on how to reheat it! Fernando shook our hands on the way out and really thanked us for our time spent in the restaurant. I also wasn't sure about the tiramisu as I never tried it before and he offered to let me try it and if I didn't like it, he would swap it for something else I wanted, but I never took that offer as I never wanted to be rude, so went for the crumble instead lol. Thank you Fernando!!! 10/10. Good was top notch. Really quick service and all brought to table with care and presented well. Please visit if you can. You will definitely not be let down.

Ordered food for collection, had mushroom risotto and mushroom tagliatelle, both of which were delicious, fantastic portions highly recommend

Second time in Luciano’s and very good again. Very nice start of smoked mozzarella and friarielli followed of an authentic traditional ruota di carro Neapolitan pizza,wow.. only in Naples you could eat same way. Chef does a very good job for thise restaurant.. lots of attention and dedication for the job, and love in every dish we have today.we will comeback. G.G

Worst food I’ve ever had. Went at 5pm & there was a long wait for food even though it was empty. Got a pizza which was inedible. Runny tomatoes making it soggy & mushrooms hadn’t been cooked. Most of us left out food & left hungry & the prices they charged were astronomical. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had

Lovely staff excellent food and service

Things have changed here since the couple who owned the local fish and chip shop owned it . It was always a bit of a local vanity project and they were right to sell it and do what they did best. The new owners have no real love for this project and have staff who show no real care or respect for their jobs , On my recent visit drink service was swift and also looking for a food order at the same time ? within 4 min of been handed a menu. The Chicken Milanese was deep fried ...Usually pan fried in butter with a little love and care served with a wedge of lemon. not on this occasion Deep fried ! How lazy can you get ? served with a tasteless side of pasta and tomato sauce for an eye watering city center price of £21.00 It also had a handful of dry rocket leaves covered in parmesan cheese, zero presentation or care taken . Italian food to me is all about the quality of the ingredients. And the love taken to cook and present the food. Meat balls were solid and overcooked In a small amount of again tasteless tomato sauce, Having microwaved a few things in my time I recognise the signs here. The Pizza was however good and produced with a professional touch. Draught lager took 20 min to come to the table and a limoncello was served in a dishwasher warm whiskey glass . I had asked if the limoncello was served in a shot glass that had been chilled and was assured it was. I noticed other tables coming in for drinks only and I think I now see why. For a local restaurant to be good it needs to think who and what local customers want, Quality food, quality ingredients , drinks served appropriately, by staff who care about what they are doing. until I see signs of this in Burnside I doubt i will be spending £180 for a meal there again.

Was first time here, Service was great food was incredible, was served quickly, had mushroom tagliatelle, which was absolutely delicious, and really good portion, bill for 2 people including drinks was more than reasonably priced , highly recommend

I live locally and loved this restaurant when it was under previous ownership. I have been here a couple of times now, never been blown away by the food or service but this time I won’t be back. The food is honestly the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. The minestrone soup I ordered was terrible, hard large pieces of potato with barely any soup, was more like a sludge. How hard can I be to make this ? The sausage pasta had no flavour and was heavy and tasteless . Dont waste your money and try somewhere else , the food in here is way under par.

Recently ordered some takeaway pizzas and truffle fries. When ordering, it said ready for collection in 15 minutes, hence why I chose this local eatery. Unfortunately some 1 hour and 10 mins later I received my food of which was substandard. Oily greasy pizza and truffle fries minus the truffle instead being soggy and tastless. Staying local, we always try and support the community, but this is the final straw for us after previous unpleasant experiences.

Bought for a family of 4, good value for money. Most important the food tasted excellent, loads of toppings on pizza, pasta also got the thumbs up. Would highly recommend.

A real shame as the food was lovely , pizza and pasta both full of flavour but was ruined by the service . Round of drinks forgotten waited 20 mins on the bill , the bills had extra drinks on it not a big deal but one was a bottle of red wine (no one drinking wine) another ten mins later for the bill , wbb

I do not like to leave negative reviews and only do so to give honest feedback and encourage improvement. There is a limited choice of local restaurants in the area so it is disappointing when an establishment under performs. We have visited on several occasions and the service seems to decline on each visit. The only reason we have returned is because the food is actually quite good. It is front of house that lets this place down. The staff are static, everything is done at a snails pace to suit them. The restaurant was not busy but it still took them an age to offer and serve some drinks. They seem to want to take your food and drinks order at the same time to save them a visit to your table. It was the same with the food, my starter plate lay there until my main came, my main plate lay until I asked for the bill. Trying to get their attention was painstaking. If this is your job you have to look up now and then. There does not seem to be any incentive for the staff to walk about the place to check if the guests would like a desert , more drinks or if the plates need cleared. If this was done guests would actually spend more money and reward good service. On leaving we were clearly finished with our food and drinks but waited ten minutes after asking for the bill . Our jackets were on when it did come but waited another ten minutes for the card machine. We could not wait any longer so paid cash and left. Maybe this place makes it's money from takeaway food and has taken its eye off the ball in providing basic service for sit in customers. I will say I cannot complain about the food it was delicious on this visit. I had a prawn ravioli dish that was bursting with flavour and was presented beautifully. Unfortunately the overall poor experience of this and past visits can't be saved by the food.

Brilliant service and food. Brunch was fab, so much fun.

Arrived without a booking and was promptly seated and an order taken, waited half hour for starter which arrived lukewarm, 40 mins between starter being cleared and main arriving, again lukewarm. It was a Tue night and the restaurant had 10 other diners so no excuses for such a wait. I lady serving and what I assume was a manager sat on her laptop the whole 2 hours we were there. Was looking forward to having a good local restaurant, unfortunately won't return.

Came in for our daughter's birthday. Taylor was friendly and went out of her way to help and present a cake. Was a little quiet but appreciate it was in between lunch and dinner service on a weekday. Food was very tasty. Thank you.

Been in to the restaurant and it’s always been good but got take away pizzas and was not impressed burnt black round the edge and soggy bottom plus the topping were all in one part of the pizza! Think the kitchen is being overworked and the quality suffers

Had a lovely take away from this restaurant we regularly sit in and use. The order was incorrect - both as advertised on the just eat website and when it arrived - however after I called the restaurant they rectified this very swiftly and sent both the missing item and a replacement item for something that they no longer serve but advertise on a sharing platter. Our favourite place to eat locally and it’s nice to know they care and rectify mistakes.

We got a takeaway for a business lunch for our boardroom & absolutely loved it! Everyone really enjoyed it, pizza was up there with the best as well as the chips & a selection of breads. We will be using Luciano's Burnside a lot 🙂

Overpriced. Bought the itison voucher for £40. 2 course with wine. Actual cost (because you were limited to market menu) Would have have been £44. Food was mediocre. Pizza was good. Everything else was just okay. Market menu...cheapest dishes on offer. Staff are lovely. Would never go back

Since it opened we have been fairly regular at Lucianos and it’s been a firm family favourite for birthdays and Christmas Eve, however after a couple of below par visits it’s unlikely that we’ll be back. Booked for early evening as we had plans for later and waited almost an hour for our mains while other diners who arrived later were receiving theirs. Spoke to the staff and they advised they were busy with delivery orders and that they would check our order. Got our mains 10mins before we had to leave so all pretty rushed and not an enjoyable experience . No apology from staff and charged the full amount which is fairly disappointing given the service received. Would have thought those dining in would take priority over takeaway.

Booked the kids’ pizza making class for lunch and we all had a great time - excellent service too

Honestly one of the best lunches ever! We were served by the lovely Dianne. She made us feel comfortable from the get go, always attending to our needs. We have recommended to friends and family, and are booking in for a dinner for our one year anniversary at the end of the month. Will be coming back regularly. Prices absolutely great in this day and age, 10/10 experince.

First time visiting this restaurant, unfortunately wasn’t overly impressed, restaurant itself is lovely but have tasted better food . Wait for food was quite long ( we were the only people In restaurant) 5 of us . Food served on cold plates resulting in people eating food quickly . Waitress was pleasant enough however had to be reminded of some drink orders.

Being local we like to use local amenities and have eaten fairly regularly at Luciano's. The food is decent without being a dining experience and the staff are always cheerful in their service. So , no problems...... until today. We ordered the market menu from which I chose the salmon which had a supplementary £3.50 price. The small piece was served with three boiled potatoes and a 'nice' sauce. We ordered desserts from the same menu and my husband was told that the one he wanted wasn't ready but our very nice waitress told him he could choose another from the a la carte at no extra cost. Until our bill came and the extra money was added for the sweet. When questioned, our waitress told us the manager insisted we now had to pay the extra. It wasn't a lot of money but it left us feeling quite let down by what we considered petty and showing a lack of care for regular customers.

We recently moved to the area. This is our new favourite restaurant. Service is always very good in my opinion 👍! Food always very good quality.

My first time in Lucianos ,I booked a table for 3 with two French visitors,I myself am wheelchair bound and i asked for a table near the accessible toilet which was up to a great standard to my needs.we had no need to rush to help translate the menu to my friends .the waitress named estera very polite and professional to take our order which arrived at the time of our choosing and similar for our next 2 courses which were well cooked to a good standard ,at the end of our meal estera the called us a taxi.I will be back again to Lucianos for sure,my thanks again for a great evening. A very poor dining experience The family dining next to us were incredibly loud and the layout did not help, starters arrived in the middle of our main course, meals were forgotten, orders were forgotten, food was extremely mediocre for the price, and overall i would have rather dined at home. Not the first time I have visited this establishment, and both times the experience has been similar- very poor. I will go out of my way to not return again.

Young man was exceptional we didn't get his name but he was tall and blonde. We recognised him from cutlers where we had a bad experience but we can't fault Luciano it was beautiful. The young girl that served us was very polite and friendly. Compliments all round. Will definitely be back.

Wasn't impressed our meatballs where still pink in middle mines didn't have much sauce or flavour. Mum's pasta was extremely dry as well. Also pretty expensive.

The Calamari in its tempura light batter with the weee cheeky dip was outstanding - The pizza with mozzarella and parma with the pasta ( which means a slap ) with tomato and burrata blew us away ( served Jimmy style) which we thoroughly recommend- plus the lovely manager and his attentiveness- made ie a lovely Wednesday evening- highly recommended 💜

Went in on a Sunday, Adam was our host he had the best chat out of anyone I've ever had serving me there. The food and drink were great. All in all a decent little place.

Went for a birthday dinner, nice ambiance in the restaurant, we both had starters which were delicious especially the bruschetta, I had my reservations about the raviolo for the main meall as you normally only get abouts 3/4 bits but it was absolutely delicious and quite ample with a side dish of tenderstem broccoli and your foccacia bread between 2, my husband had pasta with sausage and also said it as really nice, our waiter Adam was lovely very polite young man, defo be back.

Don't often get chance to go out and had a voucher to use. Setting was lovely, staff were friendly. Menu was limited, didn't have what we asked for,ran out of chicken at 7pm, when food arrived it was luke warm and portions were very small in comparison to price causing us to go somewhere else afterwards for something to eat as still hungry. Wouldn't recommend.

Luciano’s was a massive surprise and a restaurant that Burnside has been in desperate need of. I would highly recommend. Excellent service from our waiter, Adam, who was extremely polite and friendly and has an excellent manner when it comes to table service. The food portions were in my opinion very filling and the lasagne, which had the right balance of meat and cheese, was delicious (a high honour since nobody has been able to top my dad’s recipe). I can’t wait to go back soon.

The food at Luciano's is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I loved the service at this restaurant. My server was Adam and he couldn't have been anymore helpful his bubbly personality ensured that my experience was top notch. Could not fault the service or the food at all. Definitely will be back.

New to Burnside and settling in well. Have had meals indoors and takeaways. Both were excellent and we'll be back again soon.

Nice place, staff were very friendly and service was quick. They have several menus which are good value for money. Booking strongly advised as it gets quite busy, especially at the weekends.

I was looking forward to visiting Luciano's restaurant however the experience was disappointing to say the least. Starters were cold, mains were salty and service slow. Sorry but wont be back to local Italian.

Luciano's has swept me off my feet! 😋❤ What I had: 1. Spaghetti Bolognese 2. Orecchiette Pasta (Salsica, Broccoli E N'duja) 3. Prosciutto, Rucola E Pomodorini Pizza 4. Pane All'aglio I cannot believe that Burnside has been blessed with such a fantastic restaurant. I did not expect this whatsoever. This kitchen is definitely led by incredible chefs, the taste of each dish was unreal. This is what I call true cooking, everything was seasoned to perfection and all ingredients were very fresh. You deserve the best Luciano's, I wish for this restaurant to continue growing and expand into the city centre (without losing its charm) or for more people to make their way to this place! It's worth it. I will be back and I will bring my close ones. Flavour is clearly at the heart of this restaurant. You have made my night. ❤

Beautiful experience. I have booked a table for two on a Friday evening through their website. I was running late so I called the restaurant to ask if later times would still be available. It was not an issue. Upon entering the restaurant, most of the tables were busy which was a good sign! The atmosphere inside was fantastic, very chilled yet the music in the background positive and lively. Me and my partner felt like home. The food was delicious and we were stuffed by the time of the dessert. Waiting staff were very lovely and we were often checked up on. Very very positive. We both really recommend this little surprise of Burnside ♥️

It was the most appalling meal we have ever had!! To the point my father took the meat off his plate put it into the napkin and took it home and put in the bin!!!! He wouldn't even give it to the dog!!!! Will NEVER be back!

Sorry. Don’t like to write negative reviews but our experience was a big disappointment. We arrived at 3.30pm and restaurant was relatively quiet yet service was very slow and it was a full 1.5 hours before we received mains. Minestrone soup was very tasty; otherwise, food was average including soggy and pretty tasteless meatballs. Asked for table away from the door / windows but as we were 6 that wasn’t possible; it was cold (draughty) and we kept our jackets on throughout. Served extra vegetables 10 mins after receiving our main. It was a birthday dinner for one of our boys but we left as soon as we could. Won’t be back; hope others have a better experience.

I went to this restaurant on the 03/12/21 with my Brother and our partners the service was good and friendly but the food was served cold with a very long wait between the starters and main courses. I am afraid I will not be going back and I do not think I would recommend this restaurant. I think it’s wrong if you have to tell them to make sure the food is hot . 🤔

Visited this restaurant for lunch and it wasn't to busy. Two members of staff serving Somerville was slow. Eventually when our food arrived five out of six dishes were cold and had to be sent back.Not good for a restaurant that has recently been taken over.

Visited for lunch and split a pizza and pasta Jimmy style. Both were delicious. Pizza combo with burrata, mortadella and pistachio worked well. Loved the orecchiette pasta with salsiccia, broccoli and n’duja.

Very disappointed. My partner and I frequently went to the last restaurant that was here but this has to be one of the worst Italian meals we have had. I give the star for the staff who were very friendly and accommodating. The food was incredibly bland (I'm no chef but I can make better tasting food myself) and also tepid, not enough meat in the pasta dishes. Also extremely pricey for the quality (£6 for a pint of underwhelming beer). I have no problem paying a bit more for quality but the food is certainly not worth it here. We will not be going back and have been telling friends and family to avoid at all costs. Don't spend your money for poor quality food.

A really enjoyable evening meal with friends. It’s got a really cosy, friendly feel. The food was fantastic - tasty soup, pasta and chicken dishes and the staff and kitchen were flexible with changing out some aspects of the dishes to suit individual tastes. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food and wine. But the staff and service really makes this place. Welcoming, friending and fun - they really cared that we had a good evening. Would definitely recommend and go back.

Had dinner with friends and food was amazing. Yes as others have said the portions weren’t big, but we felt there was enough and left room for a sweet! Service was good too. Had a takeaway another night and again food was excellent, although the restaurant was busy the takeaway was ready in good time and again nice service. Will definitely be back.

Hugely disappointed with this restaurant for a specific reason. We went with friends and generally the meal was good but my wife is coeliac and suffers severe reaction to gluten. She was ill a couple of hours after visiting Luciano’s - firstly they served bread which they say was gluten free but we are not sure if they mixed them up with our friends dish - (they had already mistakenly give us another tables food) this could have been the issue or otherwise it was the sauce with the main course - they mistakenly served up a wheat based sauce for my wife’s main course but replaced this when we queried . We suspect the same food may have been reused with an alternative sauce which should not happen. I emailed the restaurant to let them know and I wasn’t looking for any rebate or freebies - just an apology and some reassurance that staff should be retrained - I’ve not even had the courtesy of a reply. If you don’t have a food allergy I’d say go but if you do I would avoid. Totally fed up with restaurants who fail to acknowledge these mistakes - it happens too often - why pay to be made ill ??

So disappointed with this new restaurant. Starters were fine then at least a 20 minute wait before the main courses arrived. Two spaghetti carbonara and one ravioli. All three were tepid and a bit tasteless. Didn’t bother waiting for desert or coffee. Will need to improve if you want to make a success of this restaurant in Burnside.

Had lunch on Friday , service and food is the best . Will be going back for more very soon . Best Italian food I’ve tasted x x
