The experience is second to none. The food is awesome.. and well priced... I have lived in Mistley Manningtree since 2006 and always used this beautiful venue, i have never had a bad time there, so long may that continue... When Andy Dean was manager, 6/7 years ago, he made me a VIP customer.. lol.. RIP Andy Dean 🙏🏿

Lucca’s Pizza is truly Authentic and Italian. The service was amazing by Kaylie she was so nice and patient suggesting us popular dishes. Highly recommended

Had a great lunch with 3 other friends. Friendly and attentive staff with great food and some lovely wines. It was good value for money. Will go again when this way.

After a very nice bottle of Sauvignon blanc at Estuary wine bar we went to Lucca. What an excellent dining experience. Very attentive service , well prepared and presented food and very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Fantastic pizza at great prices.

Staff decorated the table for a birthday for us. The food was delicious especially the Pomodorino pizza and garlic bread. Would recommend 👌

The food is absolutely fantastic, the staff are very welcoming, friendly and quick. But the food is just exquisite, one of the best Italians I've ever been to, authentic Italian food, and the chef is lovely.

I came here for my birthday with my boyfriend and our daughter. The service was brilliant, clearly very family friendly and met all our needs. We never had to wait too long for drinks or food. The atmosphere was really nice also. Food was amazing. Brilliant portion sizes and priced very reasonably. I do have to say the pizza crust/dough was so tasty, I don’t think I’ve ever had crust that nice. Unfortunately we don’t live local, we visited during our week away in Essex. If we ever come back we will be returning to Lucca again. I would recommend reserving a table.

Beautiful experience all around! Our waiter Jude was so super kind and funny and just made the experience lovely. Food was delicious and portions were amazing. Such a lovely space for all occasions. Only 1 issue the bossy lady on the bar who spoke disrespectfully to all other staff and loudly commented on them to which we could overhear making us quite uncomfortable. Other than that lovely evening and super happy!!

always fab food. unfortunately this time we waited nearly 2hours for our food as our ticket was "lost". understand mistakes happen but noone came to check on us, offer drinks etc

For my 60th birthday we booked a table for 10, including 2 small children. We were served by 2 members of staff both of whom were really attentive, especially to the children. Our food was excellent, we had a really great evening. We have been to Lucca many times, but never with the whole family. It was a lovely end to a perfect day. Thanks to everyone at Lucca xx

My family all love Lucca and we weren’t disappointed when we visited for a wedding anniversary lunch today. The food was fantastic, and service was speedy and friendly. Prices are always very reasonable. It’s no surprise that this place is so popular!

As special mention Ellie went above and beyond for us. She was a lovely server and picked up on our vibe instantly and made our night. The best Italian restaurant in reach of Ipswich (sorry, towny review) The spaghetti Gamberi was excellent and the Antipasti Misti was enough for 6 to start. The tiramisu Martini is responsible for any current spelling mistakes but was delicious. A perfect birthday celebration for my sister in law. Class eating without the fuss.

I'm already a big Lucca fan however the Romana pizza I had today was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Made to absolute perfection. Service was so quick. Lucca Lemon cocktail is so refreshing and a must have. Literally love eating here. The only thing is it was so hot and just as hot inside! The fan above us was bust so hopefully that gets fixed soon! Thank you!

The cozy spot in Manningtree transports you to Italy as you step in the door. The waitresses are helpful and very friendly, always there if you need anything. The food was amazing, not overpriced at all, definitely worth what you pay. There was a huge range of food, with lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten - free options to chose from. Very good would definitely recommend.

We were on holiday and Lucca's looking inviting. It was and lived up to our expectations. We are both Vegetarian and it is difficult to find restaurants that provide good veggie food. Lucca restaurant was simply the best. The staff were more than helpful. The wine was good and the food was excellent. Really top class. We live in Deal, Kent, 3 hours drive away otherwise Lucca's would become a regular for us. Highly recommended. The pizzas looked good but my pasta vongole was superb. Not a lot of places cook this so well done Lucca's . A must for anyone in the Manningtree area.

Fitted us in as a table of five last minute and it was absolutely fantastic! Service was great, food was delicious, best pizza and focaccia and the kids options were incredible. Thank you! Highly recommend

Good food lovely stalff very reasonable

Nice venue but rather warm as the fan was broken. Food was tasty for everyone. I had the Venison Ragu & its fitting to quote a restaurant joke. Waiter to client "How did you find your fillet steak sir?" Client, "Oh I just moved a potato & there it was." In all honesty I could fit the venison on a level teaspoon. The tagliatelle was very tasty though. The pizzas I suppose, were typically Italian, with a soft 10mm crust. In South Africa we prefer a firm 5mm crust which is not doughy like the Italian one. The mussels were excellent & numerous.

Beautiful authentic Italian food. One issue with a closed muscle, which was quickly dealt with. Slightly disappointed that waiter said returned dish was a new fresh one. Infact it was the original, with the closed muscle removed . Still enjoyed and would return.

Came here last night for my mums birthday and we were absolutely blown away! The service was top notch, lovely staff :) The food was absolutely incredible, you could tell they used fresh ingredients! The prices are super reasonable too, i’d happily pay more for what I recieved. We will definitely be back, thank you everyone at Lucca :)

A true taste of Italy very friendly service

Great food, service and atmosphere. Very well priced all things considered. I thought the bruschette was average, but the ravioli, calzone diavolo, cheesecake and panna cotta were great! Will be returning again.

Fabulous visit, would highly recommend - delicious with fantastic service. Eddie was a really attentive waiter, chatted with the kids and helpful throughout dinner 🙂 All the staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for us and great Happy Birthday singing 😀 Kids enjoyed tomato linguini and meatballs, we had the arancini and garlic bread to start and then two delicious pizzas. Finished with pannacotta, icecream & coffee 😋 Thank you to everyone for a lovely dinner.

Very lovely authentic Italian restaurant!

On sundayevening at 21.00 hrs looking for a place to eat, everywhere else was closed, we arrived at Lucca in Manningtree. We had a wonderful evening with excellent and top service provided by very friendly staff. The restaurant is very dog friendly. The menu offers several options for specific diets such as vegan. It was a wonderful experience, so much so that we nearly missed our ferry to sail back home to the Netherlands 😆🙂

had lovely meal here today with family, my mushroom risotto was delicious!! we were all very pleased with our dishes and service from everyone! thank you all 👍 highly reccomend 😊

Nice restaurant staff were amazing friendly and courteous unfortunately the dish I chose was a bit bland and the meatballs were very dry my partner chose the risotto and it was perfect the price was very good and service too .. I would go back due to the friendliness of the staff but would try another dish

Lovely venue with quality pizza and friendly service. I called in for a late lunch on a weekday and was surprised just how busy the place was, but it all made sense after I tasted the food.

What a find. We drove from Clacton on several recommendations from work colleagues. We were not disappointed. It is one of the best meals out we have had in years. We will definitely return when we are down south again. Thank you to the two Ellies upstairs. You made us feel so welcome. The original artwork everywhere was an added bonus. 10/10

Fantastic Italian located on the High Street. Never disappoints, if you're hankering for some pizza or pasta.

We’ve lived locally for almost 2 years now and Lucca is our go to for a dinner out or when we want to impress family and friends! Service and food is excellent. Have tried the majority of the pizzas, pasta dishes and even the lasagne when it was on the menu. Typically £45 for 2 people or £80 for 3 people with drinks and starters! Lemon drop cocktail is incredible too!!

Lucca is a great Italian with amazing pizzas and pasta dishes. I have been here 5 times and never been disappointed. Servings are a generous size and well priced. Anyone who isn’t familiar with the area it can be a bit of a nightmare to park as there’s limited spaces outside the restaurant however, there is parking behind the restaurant if you follow the road round. If there still isn’t any available spaces then there is a payable car park 5 minute walk away, that said I’ve been here 5 times and always managed to park but just keep this in mind if you’ve booked a table for a certain time.

We have been to Lucca's a lot over the years, even had a two birthday dinners there, but this time we went and got shown to our table but explained why we didn't want to sit at the table at the bottom of the stairs and would like a table away from small children,two female staff would not try and find another table Although there was plenty of tables at the time and we had to travel over 20 minutes to get there, will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.🤔😡 Funny how the manager only comments on good reviews, you should learn by your mistakes and fix it, customer should come first.

Really enjoyed our lunch here , lovely room , we were upstairs , friendly helpful staff and great tasting food with plenty of vegan options. We had wanted to visit for a while and so glad that we did. Since this review have had 2 more visit s we brought a large group of people here and then just the 2 of us, both times we had a lovely dinner in a nice environment.

The best pizza I’ve had in England Baked ten feet from your table and absolutely delicious. The best part is when you order a pizza it comes out super fast. We usually share a pizza for starters and then have a pasta dish each but this time as we weren’t as hungry as usual we ordered ham and mushroom pizzas for each of us These came out in an estimated ten minutes from ordering and they were spectacular. Fresh and tasty. Lots of fresh toppings The prices are extremely reasonable and the staff always friendly and efficient One of our top choices for going out in the area

What an absolutely fantastic restaurant. We popped in Sunday the 18th feb as part of my wife’s birthday weekend. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clearly very popular. We’re had starters unusual for us as we prefer to save ourselves for a lovely dessert but we shared the bruschetta and arancini balls which were sensational I could have eaten a massive bowl of the arancini with that amazing sauce. Fantastic. Main courses again were just a delight. Proper home cooked feeling and they don’t skimp on the portions. No visit to a traditional Italian restaurant would be complete with out some tiramisu. Beautiful really makes me look forward to our holiday in Sicily this June. Exceptional value, three courses each, 2 coffees and a bottle of wine £83. No wonder the steady stream of visitors kept on coming as did the takeaway pizza being collected. Fantastic, well done. On a personal note I was delighted not to drop anything down my new white top!

I would like to personally thank the chef at Lucca’s for taking the time and effort to accommodate my garlic allergy and making me one of the most delicious pizzas I have ever eaten. It was Valentines night and he was under pressure, but he took the time and trouble to ensure my pizza was authentic and special. We love going to Lucca’s as it has great serving staff and a lovely atmosphere but this has cemented it as a special place for us. Thank you once again.

Been here many times, rude person pushed in front because waitress overlooked us 😒 the food was to its usual high standard but left as soon as main course finished due the screaming of children which spoilt the ambience

Great little Italian restaurant. Perhaps slightly pricey if you are used to London prices like me, but good to have some food more rustic than the chains (Zizzi/Pizza Express/Prezzo etc). Could maybe have a better range of main courses and pizzas for vegetarians but on the day we visited, the specials menu came up trumps with a bean soup and a veggie pizza del giorno.

Just an amazing experience from beginning to end. The service was perfect, so attentive without being over bearing. They have a young workforce that they should be so proud of. Every one of them was so professional. I went to the Ivy at Tower bridge yesterday evening and their service was not a patch on these guys. Whatever you're doing keep it up, it was such a fabulous evening made great by our waiter Scott. Thanks again so much x

Visited Lucca for lunch with my wife and made most welcome by attentive staff. Tasty good value food. The spaghetti con gamberi and rigatoni al salsiccia we had were good and washed down with the reasonably priced wine. Followed by wonderful gelati and sorbet and fried gnocchi doughnuts with chocolate sauce and great tasting coffee. All in all a pleasurable experience. We will visit again

We went here for an evening for a family members birthday - I had been told the food was incredible. I was disappointed from the get go. Service was poor - sat at table for 10 minutes before having to ask one of 3 waitresses stood together at the till chatting, for drinks. We ordered sharing platters for the table, and when they arrived, asked if we could order the kids food, which we were told someone would come back to us. 10 minutes later, I asked if we could order for the children as no one had come back to us. The whole table ordered as we were ready, but asked if the kids food could come straight away and our food when the platters were finished. The platters were nice, not mind blowing. When the food all arrived, we weren't asked if we needed anything else, or if we wanted parmisan cheese - I figured someone would come back. I waited a few minutes before again having to get up and ask for cheese for my meal, again 3 waitresses stood chatting - a waitress came over and said "sorry this should have been offered" - I asked for a bowl for my shells as I had the seafood pasta dish. We also asked if we could order more drinks - as no one had checked. A drinks order was taken - bowl for my shells never arrived. We had brought a cake with us for the birthday, which I asked to be brought over when we had finished. I had purchased a cake topper and some candles and asked for them to be put on. For some mad reason, all 12 candles were put on the small cake, and the cake topper - which set alight as we were singing and the waitress had to blow on the cake to put it out. Blowing out half the candles and causing a small scene - not the waitresses fault of course and she was apologetic, but could have been avoided with some common sense from whoever put the candles on. We were asked if we wanted a knife which we said yes to. Before we got the knife, a waitress came to tell us we only had the table for 15 more minutes so needed to hurry. We would have been done much sooner had we been attended to promptly by waitresses who seemed more interested in chatting that serving. Food was okay not amazing , but service let it down massively. I wouldn't rush back here. Disappointed

Went here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had Calzone which, be warned, is huge! Would be nice if they did a smaller bites lunch menu.

Went to Lucca's on New Year's Eve. First time there for many years and was wowed by the staff and food. What an excellent venue, where we were made to feel very welcome from the moment we entered. Had the sharing meat/cheese platter for starters and then three of us had pizzas with the fourth a risotto. All thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was perfection. Thank you for a great evening. Thoroughly recommended.

Just had a meal tonight and couldn't fault it at all. The staff were so friendly and very happy to help. The meal was superb. We will definitely be back. We used our Christmas voucher tonight to try it out. Definitely wasn't disappointed. See you all again soon.

Great sharing platter and olives. Pizza was excellent. Sausage rigatoni to die for. I had the special which was basically the amazing sausage rigatoni with added meatballs, mozzarella and Parmesan. I didn’t want it to end. Huge portions. The girls had ice cream and I had tiramisu. All epic. With drinks but excluding service it was £93 for three hungry adults eating three courses with extra sides of olives and garlic pizza base bread. Amazing.

We liked the food, generous helpings, room (upstairs) noisy so that it was difficult to have conversations across the table set for eight, one or two of the waiting staff who were not unhelpful but need a bit more training to not lean across in front of guest setting food down

Had a really nice belated birthday meal at Lucca. We all had a mix of pizza and pasta and all tasted excellent. Only pizza and pasta for mains (no steak or meat dishes) but good selection. One point to mention was that the artichoke on the Quattro Stagioni pizza was a bit woody but no one was to know that. Service was very good. Desserts were lovely too. We live locally and intend to go back regularly.

Food was great and service really good the only thing that spoilt the evening was a group on a table next to us with out of control children and parent's!!! Made it very difficult for us to hold a conversation.

Amazing food, especially the starter of the day, which was a mini four cheese fondue with garlic dough balls. In terms of service, two tips: 1. Take American Express. There really isn't a reason not to nowadays. 2. When someone specifically mentions a special occasion when making a booking, do something to recognise it. As a former restaurant owner myself, I know how much of a difference this can make to someone's evening, without costing the restaurant the earth. It only takes a pastry chef a few minutes to pipe a chocolate message onto a dessert plate, and this is all it takes to create a positive lasting impression on a diner. It was a shame to simply be told I could bring my own candles... Of course I know that, but would expect more from a restaurant that has been around long enough to know better. Otherwise, keep up the good work and thanks for a tasty meal.
