LSE Garrick Coffee Bar and Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

Having had just a bowl of fruit salad at the hotel, by the time we'd done various bits & pieces I was a tad peckish, & my friend had noticed the menu here, so we investigated further. Had not realised that although this is a student venue, it is also open to everyone - anyway, we ventured in. Very small menu, but the veggie gyozo piqued my interest. A mere £3.95 for four gyozo with a delicious & unexpectedly spicy (well, to my taste anyway!) sauce. Certainly not the usual sort of place we eat when on our hols, but wouldn't hesitate to pop in again should the opportunity present itself.

Fue una agradable sorpresa, mientras esperaba el autobús al café Fonda que estaba limpio, eficiente y un lugar divertido para estar. Los precios eran bastante razonables, con el elemento más joven como los principales clientes. En una zona cara cerca de los Tribunales de Justicia reales y la calle Cathredal de Paul, esto fue una delicia absoluta

Baja al restaurante, no hay muchas opciones, pero la comida es de buena calidad y muy barata en comparación con otros lugares de la zona. Sin duda volveré

Me encantó el lugar, sobre todo por lo barato y todo de buena calidad en el centro de la ciudad. Me ahorre £1 ya que pague por un café americano 1,85 tamaño grande También tenían promociones por la comida. Para recomendar

They have a good variety of cakes, snacks, light meals and drinks. The food is reasonable without being outstanding. The prices are competitive. If you're looking for a quiet place to eat, this it is not.

Downstairs for lunch and upstairs for coffee. Both are quite nice. It’s also a pretty good place to sit and chat with friends.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem in an area with mostly dull overpriced chain lunch options. Essentially a university canteen open to the public, the friendly and welcoming crew make the difference here. Excellent huge portion of haddock, really good chips and salad for £5.90 is good value. Please don't go because it is already crowded

Love this place, from tasty baguettes to hot main courses it’s really cheap but well cooked and well presented. The salmon with noodles was lovely as was the roast pork. Great variety of juices and other drinks and snacks. Non pretentious basic food.

I have enjoyed this cafe many times, great home cooked hearty food, very good value, friendly staff and good quality coffee. The vegetarian option has always been yummy, I’ve never been disappointed. On the occasions my boyfriend has accompanied me he said the meat/fish meals were delicious also. 😋 Lovely atmosphere, bright and airy, very clean. I love sitting upstairs watching the world go by. They have a great ethos too, recycling and products for sale such as the Keep-cup are from small businesses, made in uk where possible and the products for sale seem to be discounted in price. And on days I’m feeling lazy, I can get a bus from Waterloo that stops right outside or very close to the cafe 😀

Had an iced coffee from there just now. The menu said 'blended coffee' and when i ordered this the staff had no idea what that was. What they gave me tasted of ice , has absolutely no flavour. Total waste of £3.05. Their food is pretty dire as well, last time we got a croissant from there it was stale. Everything is overpriced. The staff weren't very polite either, I had to wait until they stopped looking at photos on their phone and chatting.

We stopped by for a mid morning chat and coffee with friends. It was limited in range but coffee and croissant were fine.

Some sandwiches and snacks can be pricey upstairs, downstairs meals are OK, nice little restaurant, staff can be a bit grumpy at times.

Up from the country, looking for a snack before the Aldwych Theatre. Good range of food and drinks and plenty of room at 6.30 PM. Proved to be just what we wanted.

As everything else at lse the food is also overpriced and not really worth the money. Lately there have been more places around the campus where you can get food, I would recommend going to one of those instead.

Mint tea is the best I have ever drunk. Cafe Americano excellent. Salmon dishes amazing. The right place to relax!

The Garrick is what you'd expect, really -- the coffee is good enough, the cakes and sandwiches are decent. But the decor and atmosphere are very LSE. In a word, institutional. The main reason to go here is simply convenience.

Even as a student I don't use The Garrick as regularly as I could, and this is due to the presence of several competitive alternative cafes/eat-outs. It's a good place to sit down and get out your laptop (located just opposite the LSE Old Building...

Overpriced cantina universitaria con mala comida. Es una cantina muy media - hacen comida mal preparada parecen demasiado sofisticado y cobran demasiado. No te alojes aquí, a no ser que usted es estudiante urgentemente de LSE.

I used to be a student there and remember always struggling to find a nice and affordable place to eat on campus. The Garrick definitely wasn't one!

I often find myself in London reasonably early in the morning, before meetings. LSE Garrick is where I head, if I want breakfast, or just a cup of tea and quiet place to get on with some work.I have tried the bacon sandwich (£3.20) before and, this time, the pancakes with bacon and syrup (£3.95) With a refillable cup of tea, it was just over £5, which seems pretty reasonable for central London. Don't expect gourmet cuisine, and you won't be disappointed.There is an upstairs section, which does pastries and bits, I think, but I tend to head downstairs, where they serve hot food, freshly cooked it seems, from 08:00. It is far, far quieter than the high street chains nearby, with plenty of tables free whenever I have been here.There is Wi-Fi, both by the Cloud (free sign-up required), as well as the eduroam network from LSE, in case you are an eduroam user from another university.

Mi aspettavo che fosse la mensa della London School of Economics, e dunque di avere una buona scelta di piatti caldi a pranzo, nonché di trovare prezzi relativamente bassi. Errore! Scelta limitatissima, cibo abbastanza insipido e 1.60 sterline per una camomilla. Mai più.

Ótimo lugar se você busca uma comida boa, rápida e barata em Londres. O lugar é frequentado por estudantes universitários, então o preço é bem acessível. Há sanduíches, saladas, sucos, café, frutas, bolos. No andar de baixo há um outro restaurante onde é servido almoço.
