Best Fish and Chips in Aberdeen.

Delivery driver expected me to go get it when i am unwell. Why am i paying for delivery when the delivery was terrible.

Very disappointing From a chippy that is normally top notch,chips over cooked very crispy and most went in the bin. I won’t be giving them another chance

Really nice food whenever I come here, which is usually once a month. However I think they have changed there pies and not quite to my wife’s liking, preferred the pies before the change, hopefully they change it back 🤞ps love the bogof meal deal you guys do ❤️

Disappointed as I thought the fish would come with the chips? Who pays £10 for a single fish?? The picture shows chips too! First time ordering but won’t be back :(

I just wanted to point out that all this time the staff at lows Berryden have been misleading us. When they first opened the shop we went there to ask how they fry their fish & chips and they had told us it was fried in vegetable oil separately from the other meat products. I am a muslim and they have been selling us fish and chips fried in beef dripping . I phoned today and the girl said all their fish and chips are fried in beef drippings. I told her then why have I been told, last time I phoned, that it get fried in vegetable oil. She then gets her supervisor on the phone and when I telll him the full story he tells me since yesterday they have been using beef dripping. I did not believe a word he told me. You are lying to the customers just to fill your pockets. If you can't provide to vegetarian customers then mention it in your menu. I have been ordering online all this time and have been eating fish and chips fried in beef dripping. You should be ashamed of yourselves for doing this. I read your reply Alex and when I phoned today no one informed me that the fryer was not working. So please dont say that I was informed about it. When I called today, the girl that answered the call put me on hold to ask and then told me that your fish and chips are fried in beef dripping. After I questioned the supervisor, he made up a story saying that since yesterday you have been using beef drippings. Will not be ordering from you as your company has lost my trust. When you get told over the phone, the fish and chips are cooked in vegetable oil separately. Then you would think it is ok to order online which we have been doing. I thought its Ramadan, let me phone up and ask before placing an order online. I would advise you, to rectify this, is to have a sign saying not suitable for vegetarians online and in your shop.

Thought we would give them another try because last time was rubbish but regret it. Macaroni pie was dry and burnt. The “large” chips certainly weren’t large & most of the “chips” were cold hard black bits. The things that were called doughnuts were the size of a small sausage roll for 5 of them to be charged £5.20 is outrageous they were so chewy. Ordered a large bottle of Coke got sent a can. Won’t be going back again. Prices they charge I’d expect better. One plus curry sauce was lovely

Heard owner screaming at young girl through the back, should never be speaking to employees like that especially with customers in the shop. Overpriced aswell not good value for money, curry sauce is horrible and paid for chips, cheese and curry sauce and didn’t even get any cheese.

Nice fish. To be fare, this is the first chippy I go to for either fish or battered langoustines. Always good. Sometimes stingy in the chips department.

I found the fish tasted very oily. Maybe a different kind of frying oil, but I found it greasy. I won't order from here again as there are lots of places out there where the fish tastes light and totally not oily!

Cancelled my order after waiting 2 hours for delivery , website says delivery 30 minutes , shocking service Adding to my review from last week , I got a phone call from the manager Alex apologising for the service I received and told me to come in to the shop to get a free supper which I did today , just like to add it was lovely thanks again Alex 😀

Ordered a medium chips and there was a miserable amount of chips for £6.50 the picture of the small on the site has more chips. Both of the fish were of good sizes but the batter wasn’t as good as usual. Jumbo sausage could have done with more cooking. Ordered irn bru got diet irn bru instead (gutting)

Ordered a smash burger deal, the large chips are missing and received a can of juice which was meant to be a 500ml bottle :( disappointed and sad

This is all I got for £9.70 I've ordered from the machine it's showing the think whit chips then I am told it's not whit chips it's just a photo in the menu my my lemon it's missing too after I come back to ask for what's happened to my order I was told there is no lemon but I funking got charged for thi very very very bad customer service I am deliveroo driver too and anytime I come to this place super disappointed today I decided to eat here whit a college of mine and this shit happening never come back here again very bad people

Bad service. Refused to give me a vegetarian burger for the lunch offer, even though the offer just said burger. When I got home with my order the food was covered in sugar instead of salt. Felt like a computer says noooo type situation. Don't recommend.

I usually go to Lows Berryden as it’s my closest chippy and most reliable. The food is good, I rarely have a bad experience except the service. It’s usually the same people working there but they never seem to get the order right/ have to repeat it a few times? I never order anything over the top and it’s a fairly simple order? Also went in tonight and the woman working was very loud for it being quiet. Was being very loud/shouting to the other guy working (it’s a small place?) It just doesn’t seem professional for an award winning chip shop?

Many less favourable reviews but went there regardless, ordered and paid electronically, there was a 5 foot bench for dine in, staff were in neutral mood during preparation and handling over of food. But so long as the fish I received was in good portion, tasted fresh, correctly seasoned and not too salty, chips were hot and well cooked, more than adequately sized portion, I would give them 5⭐️

I DID NOT order donuts WHY would I order donuts with SALT you guys are rubbish totally rubbish I ordered fries and also when you read the deal it's says there is ice cream where is the ice cream totally rubbish

Driver could not find house its on a main bus route and is the last house hundreds of thing have been delivered it appears the drivers app is wrong

Really great food came nice and hot the steak pie was delicious it was nice and soft and had the right amount of gravy will definitely be ordering again

honestly a better chance of winning the lottery than getting salt and vinegar from these folk Pies are poorly drained of oil after what must be deep frying. Fish is certainly decent and the chips have improved alot.

I am a regular customer of the Lows & Walker fish & chip shop in Barryden Aberdeen and I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for excellent quality products and excellent customer service that I have experienced over the number of times I’ve visited this shop the friendly members of staff are always happy to help you and they always do their very best to make sure that your always a very satisfied customer

Used this place for years, every time the service and order process is extremely slow, kids behind the counter, never get the order right, things missing, but to no fault of there own from what I see is who ever in charge doesn't guide very well. Never asked for a bag, change was wrong no vinegar or salt offering

Cheap lunch time prices however food was noticeably greasy compared to other similar places.

Terrible! £9 for potato fritters that were simply just sliced potato with no batter and barely cooked. curry sauce, which was the worst I've had from a chipper. Tasted nothing like curry sauce, more like boiled pineapple with a barely noticeable hint of cheap and toxic curry powder. I will not be buying anything from this place ever again. Poor show lows!

Had two cheeseburgers suppers 4oz burgers nothing like 4oz came to the price £22.70 charging £3.50 for the tray of chips you get twenty chips won’t be going back there in a hurry

We were told when we ordered that our order would take 25-35 minutes and it arrived 2 hours after we ordered. Food was quite cold and chips weren’t cooked properly.

prior to this order I had full stamp card. checkout applied current offer discount and stamp card was reset.

Dissapointing. Described as langoustines. 2 pieces potentially could have been but the rest 4 were bits with soggy batter. 1/2 tray of chips. No salt or vinegar as asked and no lemon. What is the point of asking these things if they don’t pay any attention and put them on.

Well, was very disappointed to get just a fish without chips 👍🏼 read some reviews and understood that it’s not only me who faced this. Apparently “supper” means with chips and if you don’t select this option you get only fish, but on a picture it shows fish AND chips which IS very confusing. 10 pounds only for a single fish? Disgusting place, wasted money and had an awful dinner.

Not up to the usual standard,macaroni pie was very dry and inedible. Normally it’s the best pie in town hopefully a one off. Chips steak & cheese just as good as always and a great sized portion 👌🏻

Worst chipper I have ever had, macaroni pie supper for £8.10. Chips weren't even cooked & pie was completely dry & overcooked. Absolute daylight robbery, will never go back. Place looked like it needed a good clean. Shambles.

Had a macaroni pie supper 26/6/22 worst supper I’ve had so far. Pie seemed old, very stodgy and tough to eat. Worst macaroni pie I’ve had not just from chippers either. Chips weren’t that great either bland and a bit under cooked. Ended up binning 3/4 of the pie and over half the chips. That was after a couple of beers too when you would normally eat anything. This was from the Berryden branch. It’s never been that great since it opened. Not sure if it’s because it’s all kids working there or what. Stupidly went back for the same Macaroni pie supper 21/5/24 and it’s still as bad has to be the worst chipper in Aberdeen. Pie was tough and dry, chips slightly under cooked and a small portion for the price. My son had chicken fillet supper and he was surprised at how small the portion was. Also looked like they were two different styles of fillets. He uses the Lows in Westhill and said the portions are bigger and food a lot lot better. Don’t think the young guy has a clue how to run the chipper and the way he brushes off comments re food and speaks to his staff isn’t very good. Needs some training I think. Aberdeen branch is shocking. Convenient for me but think I’ll just travel further now to Rosemount.
