Lounge Cafe Bar in Kingston upon Hull, City of

I visited for Christmas drinks with my family, to be greeted by a blonde waitress named Leah She was rude and shushed my husband who was asking a question. Spent most of her time on her phone, there was a lipstick mark on my glass and when I told her this she rolled her eyes and snatched it off the table, taking 20 minutes to come back with a replacement. Never had a problem with this place before it’s a family favourite of ours but certainly will not be coming back again. Try employing older staff with experience in the hospitality industry rather than ignorant rude teenage girls then maybe you will not lose customers!

The lounge on princess avenue was my original home from home and was sadened to see it close then jubilant to hear it re open So as a treat from my wife we went to celebrate 🍾 our anniversary Walking in it felt like home again same bar similar dining set up ...from then it was down hill Placing order at bar for drinks they where brought to the table.. vodka martini was made to perfection The head barma came across with my wife's gin fusion cocktail again amazing drink he took our order 2 starters to 2 mains About hour later the starters arrived with mains which defeats the object, and some of the starters ended up on the floor. No condiments on table so we asked for salad cream...that never arrived My wife's chicken Kiev was large with real chips mine was scampi and real chips or so I thought My wife loves scampi and so do i but it wasn't scampi it was calamari.... and was substandard quality. If my wife had eaten this with her allergies for this type of food the most servere allergy would have been death when we told the waiter about this his reply...good job you didn't eat it...then walked away Paying at the bar I brought thus issue up. He was apologetic and as a discount made another vodka martini,there we are with debit card in hand coats on ready to leave..real strange behaviour paid the £45.45 and left amazed what had just happened Obviously this establishment doesn't understand Natasha s law doesn't apply hear. If i had still been a free lance food critic this place would have been I'm the press before the lights had been switched off. This isn't the lounge as we knew it but a very pale imitation of one of the best bars Hull used too have. Short staffed a chef that doesn't understand basic culinary requests ill trained and informed waiter and a head bar man that didn't realise the sheer magnitude of what could have happened ..would we return ....not on your nelly This was a close call from a date with the mortician

Went for lunch with the family, food was amazing! Defiantly worth a visit! New chef seems to of brought the place back round.

went with a couple of mates, surprised to see it all revamped but was a very positive meal. Food was delicious, the staff were all friendly and efficient, the manager helped out which is always good to see, definitely would recommend to anyone wanting to grab a bite down princes ave

We came for Sunday lunch was lovely had lots of fresh cooked veg and proper opened cooked roast potatoes. Out friends had a steak and it was very good they said and the chips where home cut and cooked not that frozen rubbish. Only issue because they were bust took a little time bit was worth the wait to be honest as the bar staff were very attentive. Recommend the lamb sheets kebab starters and garlic breads.

Fantastic value for money, and great food. Huge fish and chips in fact it was a whale of a fish. Staff very friendly and service was also good. We are going back on Sunday for the Sunday lunch ten of us in total, really looking forward to it, after the lockdown its great to be able to enjoy great food and company again.

Went today new chef and goodness you can tell. Had a great lamb kebab starter then 10oz Sirloin with all the trimmings. Missus had the gourmet black pudding burger and homemade fries was to die for. They are doing Sunday lunch 4 types of meat but we are going back home so shame

Menu describes home made burger definitely straight out of a box in a deep fat fryer worst burger ive had anywhere including any takeaway and the 4 cocktails for 20 pound piss poor cocktails the smallest glasses very disappointed with food

Despite checking the order we placed three times with the waitress, when the food came it was clearly not what was ordered and there was one meal missing, now I can understand how orders can get mixed up but not having the common sense to count the people present and the meals ordered is beyond me. Not only that we were then subjected to a load of abuse by the so called chef because we dared to say something. One thing is certain we will not be going back to this eatery again.

I have now visited the new/relaunched lounge pub for food 3 times in the last month and the food has been exceptional,it was good before but the new management have taken it to a new level, Saturday 4th January we went for a family meal my son had a Cajun chicken burger,my daughter had the veggie mushroom stroganoff, my wife steak n ale pie and I had the special sea bass in a creamy prawn sauce, with drinks the bill was £55, fantastic value when you consider the quality and quantity of the food,the staff are always friendly and attentive adding to the experience, can’t wait for my next visit

Highly recommend!! we decided to come out for tea and tried this place and all I can say is WOW.. very tasty food at a great cost and the portion size is Massive, the staff are lovely and the chef was great we stopped him to thank him and he was very polite and asked if we enjoyed our food we said it was amazing,our food was homemade, hes very skillful and professional.. YOU MUST TRY IT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! We've tried everywere and this place is one of my new favourite places to go to now!

Four of us visited the reopened Lounge, drinks ordered. Now look at the menu, it didn't seem to have changed . So two burgers, fish & chips, three tapas ordered. It seemed to take quite a while before the meals came out.Burgers were fine our two friends said, my daughter's fish & chips didn't look as good as they used to be. My tapas order came out incomplete, my choice if ciabatta, balsamic oil was missing. To be honest the guy did apologize & say the delivery was late Saturday with the bread order. We agreed that ordinary bread would be ok as substitute. By this time my daughter said the fish wasn't as good as it used to be & the chips were thick ones but hard. So three out of four ok. We hope it was still teething problems . No doubt we will give it one more visit before we decide to go anywhere else.

Warm welcome , friendly staff, excellent food with a good range of meat and veggie dishes, nice pint of Guinness.

My wife and I called in for lunch on bank holiday Monday. We were warmly greeted by a barman who was helpful when I was choosing a beer. We ordered four tapas dishes and these came after an acceptable wait. The food was of an acceptable standard although, even for tapas, the portions were smaller than expected and we felt, a little overpriced. Whilst the overall experience was OK, given the wide choice in the immediate area, we would probably go elsewhere next time.

Called here for my daughters birthday lunch only because were we had choose was full but I must say we thoroughly enjoyed it. Enough people in not to feel empty. Service good, food lovely, quick and hot. Staff friendly and polite .in fact, nothing bad to say at all. Definitely recommend the tapas

We had booked a table, two of us went for the tapas to share. One went for the fish and chips.We had the bread dips, patata bravas, deep fried prawns & a beef dish.All three of us really enjoyed the food.The service was very efficient, polite.We were left to to enjoy our food & drinks, never rushed for the table, even when it got very busy.

There were 15 in our party and we all ordered different dinners , we all enjoyed them and to get all the meals to the table piping hot is credit to the chef price was good and staff were very friendly , what more could you ask for

Whenever in Hull I always have tapas here. It’s lovely and the deep fried prawns in spicy batter are my absolute favourite, I have been having them for years and they are still to die for.

We called in for lunch before the football, as we often do. It was very busy and we were told there would be a wait, we did not expect this to be over an hours wait however. The food was tasty but hugely over cooked, the waitress was rushed off her feet and the chef clearly couldn’t keep up with the orders. Perhaps increase staff numbers on match days as we were extremely disappointed and it makes us question whether to return

Had a family meal here last night,the service was excellent and the food lovely,couldn't really fault any part of the meal.me and my partner shared some tapas which we both enjoyed..would go back soon..john and jill

Called here with work colleagues for a celebratory dinner out for a special colleague. Service was quick and prompt and the food was tasty and well presented. The halloumi cheese salad was delicious and the salad leaves fresh and crispy. A nice place and worth a visit.

Visited for a drink before going for a meal down Princes Avenue. Had a vodka and tonic (lovely tonic) before choosing a cocktail. The barman (manager I think) was so helpful asking me what I like in a cocktail. He recommended the white chocolate and raspberry one which was absolutely amazing! I also had a rhubarb and ginger ginger with ginger ale and juniper berries (delicious) I was so impressed we went back after our meal for my final cocktail which was recommended by the lovely young man from earlier. I'm not sure what it was but it had cranberry juice in it and was light and refreshing. Lovely atmosphere and friendly enthusiastic staff!

We called in for lunch before the football and enjoyed lovely food, great atmosphere and good coffee. My only criticisms - the Beef Stroganoff is pricey for the size of the portion and the desserts let the side down. Will definitely visit again but wouldn't order dessert.

What a fantastic day spent at the lounge

Called in here on a Saturday lunch time Wasn't too busy and plenty of tables . We placed our order and waited. There was only 2 other tables waiting for food but it took about 45 minutes to arrive. The food was lovely no complaints there. However on the website it states a variety of children's desserts at £1.50 but when we asked we were told they only did ice cream which was a bit odd. We ordered some coffees too and were told they would be brought over to the table which they weren't so we had to ask for them. Apart from this, the service was very friendly and pleasant. They just need to speed up and be a bit more efficient .

Let's start by saying that my two friends had great meals. Her Moules Frites were stunning and his beef pie looked awesome. My meal, however, was a disaster. I'd checked that they could make it vegan and they forgot so I had to wait. When it came, the aubergine wasn't cooked...at all. It was crunchy and bitter.

Went to Lounge cafe bar today to meet up with friends for a birthday meal. Staff at the bar were polite friendly and efficient. Had to return my glass of coke as it really had no flavour to it. Staff offered me an alternative of my choice...no problem at all.

Had lunch at Lounge.. lovely atmosphere, polite staff, great food ! Had the Salmon saag aloo , very very tasty and filling. Would definitely return as the place is great for lunch and possibly busy in the evening. Was not disappointed.

Went for lunch. Think it's one of the few bars in the area that does not sell craft ale. However still a nice bar. Lunch for 2 came to 20 quid. Burger with Stilton was fab. Staff lovely. Nice to sit by the window watching the world go by. Ample parking behind the pub.

Went here for a light lunch. Very clean bar staff lovely very attentive and friendly you wouldn't have known it was only his 2nd day !! Ordered from the tapas menu and was not disappointed it was fabulous, the wine was reasonably priced and very nice too. Would Definitley recommend and return.

Good menu, spacious, friendly place and if you don't want a trip into town it's perfect. However, service is inconsistent. One day it's fine, next it's a bit unprofessional. The owner should take some of those healthy profits and do more staff training!

we stopped off for a pint and some lunch before going to the football. plenty of space for sitting and we enjoyed a couple of drinks and we ordered some foot. i had a beef burger and my friend the chicken burger. we both agreed that it was spot on.

We went today for a couple of drinks and a light lunch it was 12.30 and there was only 1 table of 2 in the bar. We asked if we could have a sandwich, but the guy behind the bar very abruptly said no and walked away.I have been going to the lounge since it opened, my bill is always around £20/25 as I go frequently, but the lack of customer service has made me decide to look elsewhere. Any bar on princes avenue needs customers and the attitude I received today, is the lounges and someone else's gain

I've not eaten here in a while so decided to try. The staff were very helpful and the food was good at a fair price. The menu is varied and includes tapas. It was Monday night so it was quiet and we easily got a table. Good place to meet friends for drink and meal/snack.

Met last Saturday before the Hull v Liverpool match, table pre booked met at 12.Drinks ordered time for the menu, unfortunately the tapas part of the menu is getting smaller for choices! + Onion barjees on a Spanish tapas???Everybody ordered but can't remember our full table order.Two of us went for the tapas sharing platter, One for the Fillet steak, one for the pie, not sure re the other two.But everyone enjoyed the food, good atmosphere & a busy Saturday bar.Please put more tapas back on the menu!!

Lounge has become our venue of choice before our home games. The food is lovely, the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is always great. My only criticism if the dessert menu is too small (but the chocolate brownie is A-MAZE-ING!!!) it would be good to have more choice, or if the selection was varied more often.

We often go here and it never fails to impress. The hubby enjoyed the steak and Stilton burger and I had the halloumi skillet. Great portions of high quality piping hot food. Staff polite and helpful- one of our favourite restaurants.

the wife and I are no strangers to the Lounge Cafe Bar, having visited the place several times, I can say the food and service was very good.,,, Good service, great food, great evening.

Haven't been here for ages because they changed the menu a while back and took my favourite dish off it - but I'm pleased to say that pollo a la creme is back! Met a friend for lunch the other week and there it was back on the menu, just as scrummy as ever. Thank you Lounge.... please never break my heart like that again!

Dropped in for lunch and had a pleasant experience. Staff polite and helpful. Food choice your standard café bar fare but good selection and was brought to the table prompt and efficiently. Good choice of lagers, could maybe do with some cask ales but otherwise OK.

Having visiting on a Saturday 22 October 2016 not even half full we ordered the house burger and drinks for two we waited for 35 mins and asked if we were getting our food we were told to wait as two other tables had just been served and our chips had just put in . Come on lounge a burger and chips 35 minutes to serve food came cold and was told I will have a word with chef vote with your feet people of hull

My brother and I had been looking for somewhere to watch and we came across Lounge. Have been in before but never for food and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was fantastic and very quick service. Thought it was more of a wine bar but will definately visit again.

Visited for late lunch and decided to go for the tapas menu- lovely authentic Spanish tapas. Very tasty- full of flavour and good selection available. Good ambience in place and efficient but unhurried service.

Nice location on a great street. Chicken burger and Lasagne that we had were both great. Nice beer too in Punk IPA and Estrella, what more could you want?

Called in for lunch four of us including the grandaughter.Drinks ordered we then browsed the menu, Two ordered the meat lasagna,one the pollo de la creme, I ordered off the tapas menu, pan & dips, garlic prawns & meatball.We enjoyed our wine while we had a short wait for our meals.The meals were all brought out together, everyone enjoyed their meals,a while since I've had prawns this big!!Service was very pleasant & efficient, the waiter asked for my debit card so we could run a tab up,I personally have no problem with this because it would be so easy to try dodge paying while the staff are busy serving meals ,clearing tables etc.For me,this place suits me for tapas, not too spicy but very tasty.So another enjoyable meal at the lounge.

After arriving at the bar and being told the cocktails were 2 for £9 we ordered them, we were then charged £13, we questioned this once we received our change. The lady on the bar was very hesitant to tell us anything, once the bar man arrived back with our drinks the bar staff ignored us. I asked if they were going to resolve this problem and the lady in the bar told me she was waiting for the bar man who served us to finish serving another couple. He then came over and argued with us that he never told us this, he proceeded to tell me that he said he definitely told us the offer was not on. I do not mind paying full price for cocktails but as I was told they were on an offer I expected them to be £9. I am from a catering industry and the customer is always right! Never argue with your customers.

Visited lounge bar on princes avenue across tea time and not busy at all even though dukes was packed! My friend ordered the tasca Brie melt which was fine except for very dry bread and I ordered the minted lamb in ciabatta which tasted awful as if the meat was off. I mentioned it quietly to the waiter and was offered a new meal which I declined. We shan't be visiting again.

Went here on Friday 1st April 2016 for a Colleagues Retirement Meal.1st of all the Food was perfect & the Staff where very Friendly, the problem was we where a Part of 25 with all of the Meals pre booked, pre ordered and even gave a time for the Meal to be served.The Restaurant only provided 2 Waiting Staff that took 20 minutes to serve everyone which lead to most people ending up with either cold food because they decided to wait for others to be served or sat waiting for others to eat after they had already eaten.Have worked in enough Restaurants as a Chef and even did My Time as a waiter to know that large Parties of People are easy to cater for (it all comes down to cooking times for various meals).Other then that 1 issue it was a great night - hence the 4 "stars" instead of 5.

Visited here for lunch, I ordered the tuna melt. Great price and came with wedges and coleslaw, was very nice. Definitely return for drinks and food.

Absolutely gorgeous food I've never had a bad meal. Love the place. Excellent value for money good quality food. Only 1 thing I would say bit gutted they got rid of a lot of the tapas on the menu.

Visited with three friends for the Tapas. It was lunch time, drinks & food ordered.We didn't have long to wait before all our orders came out together.All four of us had different tapas, so we tried pretty much everything.No complaints at all, decent portions.Nothing left so it made a very enjoyable lunch. Will return for the tapas again soon

Visited for a bit of lunch with my partner, and my parents at around 1330 on a Friday.There is was nothing particularly mind-blowing about Lounge, however that should not be read as an insult. The food was very good, burgers were the order of the day for us, and price was more than reasonable. Additionally the service was quick, especially so given that it was New Years Day and pretty busy. The staff were friendly enough too, which is always nice. The toilets were exceptionally clean, the smell of cleaning products was almost overwhelming, which is certainly better than the alternative. Also, at the risk of sounding odd, the hand dryer in the gents is excellent. Nothing worse than having to resort to drying your hands on your jeans....In a nutshell, definitely worth going as it's well priced and the food was spot on. Will no doubt go again before too long.

First time visiting a few months ago, absolutely loved the food and cocktails! Ordered separately in a party of 8 but the bar maid made sure all of our meals came together, me and my sister in law had the 2 cocktails and they was amazing! Was the first visit but defiantly not the last! The management should be very proud of their team, had a fab afternoon! X

The lounge is one of the best cafe bars in Hulls UP AND COMING Princess Avenue areaThe cafe has been re shop-fitted again to a very high standard, A great place to unwind with a good selection of wines and beers and a fantastic menu of foodWould recommend the Steak and Ale pie,,,simply DeliciousThe staff are all fantastic and the chefs and kitchen staff are outstanding, Its a place where you can chat with out pounding music truly great place to chill

This is a goos place for a quick meal on Mondays, when most other places cant be bothered to serve any food. The Lounge therefore makes this a special food night and offers two FILLET steaks for just £20 - the regular price is £14.95 each, which itself is a bit of a bargain. Really good they are too, cooked precisely as you order them, To be fair, the veg leave a bit to be desired, but the chips are first class. They have been running this offer for over a year so no reason to see why it wont continue. The rest of the menu is IOK too, about a dozen different burgers, King Prawn Stir Fry and their own Lounge Paella. Their Tapas are pretty tasty too - about £4 to £5 each, or three for £9.95. There\'s also a '2 meals for £12 offer on Weekdays. TeaTime specials include BarbQ Sizzlers Lunchtimes they offer a small range of wraps and Ciabattas as well as Hot Tosca Melts all for £5.95. The Lounge itself has a great range of beers, including Tiger lager on draught. Usually a great atmosphere too.

My friends and I went here on a Monday evening to enjoy a meal out and a few drinks.The 2 for £12 offer is great value for money and we all enjoyed our food. The cocktails were definitely the highlight of the night though. There's a decent variety, they're 2 for £8 and they're lovely! I had the mudslide and chocolate orange.This is a great place for food and drinks, with lovely service.

Excellent food and service. It was a great day to sit in the garden with good friends and great food. Amazing value for money. I will be visiting again in the future

My friend and I had the 2 meals for £12 which was really good value and good sized portions. My friend is a vegetarian and there was not a lot of choice for her but she said the quiche and salad and chips was delicious. We arrived at 5.30pm and very soon the place was very busy and buzzing. It was quite noisy and background music was also playing. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The whole place is bright and airy and the toilets immaculate. There are tables outside as well. We will certainly be back.

Visited on Wednesday after work with colleagues. We were pleasantly surprised with our window seat. We all ate for £25.90 (4 people) very reasonable. We chose different items but we were all pleased. Then we finished with cocktails which were pleasantly on offer and delicious. We hadn't eaten here before and were surprised that there was an artist playing later on. All in all great location, friendly staff and we had a cracking night.

Nice friendly place, staff helpful and friendly, access is good for disabled flat etc but watch out for the disabled toilet as has a floor polishing machine inside and makes it hard to move around

Always have had arealy good meal for a bar especially the steak pie,the .Much better than a lot of pub meals as they are freh ly cooked ,there is also a specials board too.

This bar has recently has a refurb. The result of which is that come the evening time it feels much chavier and like a cheap 80's nightclub. On the upside they have also fitted some decent beers which they were seriously lacking previous. Point of the story, I'd rather drink good beer in a naff location than naff beer in an ok location.

Been here twice with a friend and both times were very satisfied with the service received and the food that we had.I would recommend this place to anyone!

Whenever meeting with friends for food for the avenues I always suggest this place. The menu dips into different ventures of food from burgers to tapas. So you're never stuck for choice. I have been going here over the years and have never had a disappointing visit. The food is fantastically priced along with the drinks. The food is excellent and the staff are always friendly. Will be continuing to return.

Even though we have plenty of choice in the area, Lounge has become one of our favourites. I meet up with both friends and family and its always relaxing, friendly and great value for money. The staff are always welcoming. Sitting in the outdoor area at the back is very pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

Yes it was busy and yes it took a while to be served but surely if it's busy then it has a good reputation!? It was fantastic soon as you get your food all the elements of how busy it is and the fact you don't have a lot of room to work with are gone, you just tuck in and jobs done!!!!

Saturday nights very full, if you are young you will probably really enjoy it. We are in our 50s and found it too noisy and to long a wait at the bar, although the bar staff were very nice.they must be doing well as it was packed.

Food is on point.Shots are cheap.Bar Staff friendly and quick to serve. Love it. Live around the corner and recommend it to all my friends.

Took my sister's for tapas, absolutely lovely, but could have done with bigger selection. Service was fine, food excellent.

Eaten here with the girl, really very good servicing and prompt. A relief after eating at dukes a few doors down for a very sad meal. Food was top notch. Cooked like a dream a delicious dream. Would say to a friend to eat here always. And every time

sunday 6/4/15 my wife went into here to get a table for two for dinner,the first waitress pointed out the table and sat my wife down,10 seconds later another waitress said to my wife are you with the party that's booked this table at 3pm my wife said no and was abruptly told to move and shown another table to sit at,10 seconds later another waitress asked the same question as the first waitress as the table was booked at 4pm and yet again told to move coarsely,by now my wife was getting irate and spoke up about the lack of organization,I arrived 5 minutes later for my wife to tell me the what had been going on at this point I told my wife that we are leaving and will not be eating in here.On both occasions the reserved tables never had any reserved labels on them and not one of the waitress's conversed with each other and need lessons in hospitality,needless to say we will not be entering these premises again.

Princess Ave is great, it used to have no pubs and 20 years or so on is the place to be in Hull! 1st visit to Lounge, not sure why, but it's great. Well done very nice food Estrella on draught, like and soda not too expensive for once, and in the sun on a nice afternoon in March pre a gentle stroll to watch City!Will return and recommend to locals and visitors to our great city!

We arrived at lunchtime to eat at lounge after a recommendation from a friend.Our order was taken at the bar very efficiently by a friendly member of staff and arrived at our table soon after.The food ( chilli burger and chicken burger ) was very well cooked and presented with homemade coleslaw which i thought was a nice touch.The restaurant soon filled up for the lunchtime trade and had a very nice atmosphere with a good mix of people.We really enjoyed it and will certainly be going back.

Just had lunch with 4 friends. We all had different meals and they were all spot on. 2 meals for £12. I had the fish and chips. cooked to perfection and not small portions either. Staff are friendly and efficient. Can thoroughly recommend.

We ate at the lounge bar last Saturday night and had such a good meal it was restaurant standard in a very good pub. My wife had the chicken sizzler and I had the chicken in pepper sauce both were very good if not a little expensive the service was first class the only problem is that they stop serving at 7pm if they would serve a little longer may be 8 pm i am sure they would get a lot more trade.We will be back soon and enjoy another good meal.

Had a great meal tonight 4/3/15. New menu,great price. I had Chicken & spinach Penne,my friend had lasagne & we shared chips & coleslaw....all really lovely,tasty & a great price with fab service...will go again soon

Recommend visiting the lounge, food is lovely as are the aray of drinks and the atmosphere in an evening. Seating area both inside and out are great, fab place to meet with friends and relax.

Me and a group of friends went to the newly refurbed lounge which looked great ,everyone of our party had something different I opted for the homemade quiche which I thought was absolutely delicious ,everybody else agreeded ,some shared the tapas at 3 for £ 9.95 all good .6 of us dining the whole food bill £48 !! Wow will be back soon !!

i have been going to lounge for a few years and never been disappointed, food was always excellent, until i went last night, looked forward to going to see the new refurb, looked great all new decor, new cocktail bar, all the regular friendly faces of the staff. Expected the menu to have changed which it had, no sandwiches, no wraps non of the favorites i used to enjoy like corsican beef, lamb flat bread, risotto or the large selection of tapas...i think there is now about 7 tapas dishes, i ordered the quiche which was adequate but nothing to write home about and my hubby had the gammon which he said was more pub style than the usual lounge style, of course i will be going back but only for drinks and not food as i feel there are numerous other places down princes avenue with a far better menu, sorry guys :-(

visited today 27 / 2 / 2015 just after mid day and found the whole place has had a refit.not just a paint job but full restyle.i was only going in for a coffee but thought i would have a pint and enjoy the plush surroundings even the kitchen was all new.i was pushed for time so only had one lager and some fries,other people's meals all looked tasty especially the chicken curry and the mix of pasta dishes that went by my table.i cant wait to get back for a proper meal.all the staff seemed happy and were smartly dressed.the biggest change is the new cocktail bar.this is situated away from the main bar and looked very smart.i suggest you check the new decor out during the day as i suspect the place will be full come the evening

Went for my birthday dinner a few of us went a few staff was stood talking while we was waiting to get a drink and order food looked like what ever there was doing was more important Found was lovely came out he kitchen fast.

We have been here loads of times and I think I have had the steak pie nearly every time I always go for the meat pie ha ha , the tapas is also good good range of food

I went here with half a dozen of my friends and although the food was really good the bar was very loud and lively which made conversation difficult. Overall a good evening.

Good food and service As a local eating establishment - I am never disappointed with the visit. Good for families, business visits, casual catch ups with friends and the regular family lunch over the weekend.Music is at a level that is acceptable. Staff always polite and efficient.Taking my Octogenarian Mother they do not mind her ordering the Children's Portions as she cannot eat a full meal. Good standard menu with daytime and normal offers. The specials board, which is updated regularly always has something that one of us will try - and usually not disappointed.Great homemade chutney on the pate starter. Had a Chocolate and Orange Cake special which was worth every penny and more of the price paid - truly FABULOUS !!

After my visit here I had to write a review of this venue, Me and a few girl friends friends went for a few drinks and a little bite to eat just after six on Friday evening , The greeting by the staff was excellent and all I can say is how friendly they all where, we found a table and ordered drinks and casually sat chatting as we looked at the menu, they do have specials that run on the boards and the desserts sounded very nice, but anyway I'll not go off track, we all decided to order the tapas sharer from the board and a few off the menu as there was a few of us and the ones on the board sounded very nice and let me tell you when they arrived we were not disappointed at all they were presented very nicely and piping hot, very nice and didn't take long to come at all considering there were a few in at the time with drinkers etc, The waitress that served us was very attentive even though she was busy as you could see but the customer service was excellent. Well after the food we all decided to have desserts and all I can say is WOW I had the chocolate orange cake with homemade orange sauce and it was lovely and decorated so nice with berries,cream strawberries it looked very appealing and didn't disappoint with the taste, my friend who's a celiac was even catered for on the mains and desserts which she was surprised about with the choice she had, All in all a fantastic visit and yes lounge we will be back and will recommend, keep up the good food and service your on to a winner here.

I would like to start this be thanking our friendly waitress on the night we went - 8th October - a lovely blonde very smiley and chatty girl made both me and my husband feel very special and welcoming. She gave incredible service which was very natural and didn't seem fake or forced like some places we have visited. She set up a tab for us, taking our food requests and even brought our drinks over to us, couldn't of asked to have anyone better and would like to say a big thank you to this lovely girl. To carry on the brilliant night the food was perfect! We had the steak pie and corsican beef. GREAT CHEF! Even though it wasn't very full that night it was still a great atmosphere with the staff all been very friendly and laughing with customers and the music was at a good sound level keeping the place very relaxed. Overall we're very impressed with this bar and will be visiting again soon. Hats off to Lounge!

We took my 84 year old Mum here for a Birthday lunch last Saturday as it was one of her favourite places to eat with my dad. It was packed and we were lucky to get a table. When we walked in someone came over to us immediately and pointed us to an empty table. That start to the visit exemplified the rest of the visit. The place was buzzing but staff still took time out to check how we were. Food came within a reasonable time and was in fact excellent, two choices from the specials board and one from the main menu.Having been to all of the sister bars this remains by far the most superior despite the fact that beer choices are better everywhere else. The age range of the clientele is vast and no one looks or feels out of place here.

Popped in for a light bite to eat and ended up staying for the afternoon.The relaxed atmosphere, helped the wine flow and as we ordered lunch, the relaxation filled us further and so did the food.The lunch was a deciding factor to stay for a little longer as the food was excellent and quite large and exceptional for the price.Would recommend to all - Try the Lamb/Pitta, it was truly mouth watering

We have eaten here 3 times and cant complain. Each time has been a busy Saturday night with no reservation , yet we have always been seated, had great service and never been rushed!! Staff are friendly, food is great and atmosphere relaxed. One of the better places to eat down Princes Ave.

I have eaten here many times before so i knew what the food was going to be like, the venue itself is always buzzing with people and I can't fault the service every time we go. I had the steak pie which was very nice and just the right size to fill me up, the chips were nice and chunky and I loved the rich gravy that came with it. My friends opted for nearly all the tapas dishes which they raved about especially the halloumi which I've got to say looked very appealing to the eye. All in all a lovely experience and we will certainly be going again soon.

I visited Lounge on Sunday afternoon with my mother for some lunch. I used to go all the time a few years ago but haven't visited since.Lounge is very nice and well decorated with a outside seating area.You order at the bar to which I do prefer to be served on as it makes it easier then remembering what everyone wants but not anything to complain about as it is more a casual cafe bar.The food menu is varied from burgers, wraps and melts to traditional meals and pasta dishes. I had the bolegneise melt which I ordered house fries separate, it was very nice, filling and well presented.My mother ordered a duck wrap I believe which she got fries with her meal she enjoyed it thoroughly (probably because I was paying).We then both had the banoffee cheesecake which was delicious and I believe made on site.The prices are around the same prices as a wetherspoons mostly with the mains being the average price you would expect to pay yet I would say the quality of food is a higher then wetherspoons.

This is my second review of this place and am happy to say, whilst the food was again excellent (and to quote my girlfriend 'i've eatten here 100's of times and that was easily the best meal i've had here') the service we experienced today was much improved. A little friendly banter with the gent looking after the floor service and the quality of our evening as a whole made for a greatly enjoyable experience. Thank you.

Me and my partner went for food, beautiful food. I had the lounge burger which was dench. My fiancée had spicy lamb flatbread which she said was sound. Will visit again.

Have always enjoyed eating at this bar - good menu, interesting specials and good value for money. Last night they surpassed themselves! I had the prawn provencal which was so tasty - chock a block with prawns, olives, capers and peppers. My partner had the lounge burger which he said was the best burger he had had in years. At £8.95 each for large platefuls we found it to be really good value for the money. Service was excellent and food arrived piping hot. Highly recommended.

After having a lovely meal I accidentally broke the rim of my glass the very friendly staff not only replaced the glass but also the wine which was left, would reccomend Lounge time and again always friendy, good food, reasonable prices and very efficient service.

Spent a lovely couple of hours having lunch with a friend in the beer garden this week. My first visit to Lounge. Impressive menu. I had the tikka wraps with mint and yoghurt - really delicious. Accompanied with a generous portion of fries and homemade coleslaw - good value. We were very happy with service and presentation. The only thing missing was umbrellas in the beer garden!! It was a particularly sunny day and a real sun trap! This was lovely but umbrellas would have made it more comfortable. Funny thing was within an hour or so it started drizzling so umbrellas needed for a different reason!! Typical English weather! Feel a bit more could be made of the beer garden to make it a bit more pleasant but it was fine. I would certainly recommend this place and would go again.

My wife arranged a retirement party with a few of her work colleagues last week.On entering the Lounge,she was asked to hand over her debit card to put into the till.Why they needed my wife's card I don't know.7 ladies over the age of 50 are not likely to do a runner.They were told it is the Owners policy.My concern is ,who has access to the card ,once it is in the till.I phoned the next day and talked to the "day manager" who kindly took my number so the owner could ring me back.I am still waiting for the call.I am obviously keeping a close eye on our account in case the card was cloned.I still may have to cancel and renew our card.The food was very nice,but this card issue left a bad taste.Will they go again?Not without cash,and then again,maybe not.
