Visited on a Saturday afternoon 31st August. Ice cream was nice, however the milkshakes need work. I'd expect a milkshake to be thick and the straw to initially stand up in the shake, however what we were given was effectively strawberry flavoured milk. My daughter who had one too was also disappointed.

Cosy cafe, really good food and not too expensive. Lovely range of ice cream.

Excellent hot coffee and a millionaires shortbread.Lovely welcome and service.

I ordered the lentil soup which had no lentils was very thin and zero taste even with 2 salt sachets added.I also ordered a roll and square sausage which took ages to cook but still turned out solid and overcooked with no butter on roll either! Put in nearest bin I would have returned items to store but it was raining hard and wasnt worth the effort...need to do better Scotland for tourists! A big let down!! It surely isn't that hard to produce tasty lentil soup and a decent roll n sausage..practically our heritage right there!!

Great customer service, many choices of ice cream, not too pricey

A lovely little cosy place to eat and find refuge for when the Scottish weather hits! Friendly owner who was more than happy to explain how he makes the food and hot chocolate. Price is very reasonable too.

Popped in here after a trip on the cruise boat. The Victoria cake was to die for and I even got a hot water for free. The rest of the gang had equally good things to say about the food and drinks. The owner was extremely warm and friendly. Thank you for a lovely end to our day. Highly recommend a visit.

Me and my partner visited 2 years ago for the first time. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and was impressed by all the options available to me. We both loved it. Today we wanted to go for a day trip and we decided to visit Queensferry again to go to this charming little place. We first got some cakes and a coffee for my partner. The carrot cake (gf and dairy free) was absolutely delicious! The coffee my partner had was so good that he bought a pack to take home. We then went around the town with the plan to return to get some cakes to take home. Ended up having an amazing gf and dairy free toastie which reminded me of my childhood and home (Slovenia), where we always used to grill the toast so that the cheese would melt over the ham 😊 the latte with coconut milk was also amazing. We ordered a slice of carrot cake and victoria sponge to take home so we can have a treat tonight after dinner. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making sure that my dietary needs were met. Had a little taste of the vegan ice-cream as well and will definitely be coming back in summer to enjoy it 🙂 our unborn daughter seemed impressed as well because as soon as I started eating, she started to kick away 😁 Would highly recommend to stop by and enjoy what they have to offer especially if you have any dietary needs as we all know how difficult it can be to find someplace to eat. Would post photos but we enjoyed it too much and completely forgot to take a few 😅 P.S Dogs are welcome as well.

Exquisite ice-cream! And other desserts too! I had a nutella hot chocolate that was so creamy, with all the toppings. As well as ice-cream and the others in my family had desserts and ice-cream too, we were stuffed! Staff were so friendly and accommodating, lovely local business feel.

Great little place and very tasty ice cream. Has a few tables which was much appreciated on a cold day! Not just ice cream, serves coffees, toasties and a few other tasty looking food offerings. Good value compared to other ice cream shops I have visited recently.

If you're ever in South Queensferry you must try the ice cream here....absolutely delicious. The guy serving us was so friendly and welcoming and the portion sizes are decent. I absolutely love ice cream and I thoroughly enjoyed the cream egg version.

Good selection, expensive though. Not particularly cheerful service. Tourists would probably expect a bit more friendly service, considering the prices being charged.

What a brilliant find! Went here with my friend and her child, the people working here were so good with the 6 year old and happy to help him pick his flavours. The owner served me and recommended what sauce to go with my ice cream, and he was right! We sat in to eat out ice cream and it was lovely watching the interaction between the owner and.staff with customers. Perfect service, perfect ice cream. Can't wait to go back and try a milkshake

We have now popped in her a couple of times for a bit of lunch - very few places in Queensferry cater for gluten free! The staff were very helpful and even whilst waiting for our toasties he went over gluten free ice cream options - extremely helpful! It will be one of our regular spots if we want a quick bit of lunch down the front!

Popped in here over easter holidays with my family went to take a seat the table was dirty and stained so we went else where

What a Brilliant wee place parked here and walked to Railway bridge on way back wife wanted a coffee so we headed into Loulous for a couple of Flat whites saw some Cupcakes and thought they would go well with coffee so had a look round the shop while they were being made couldn't believe the amount of Ice cream got excited when I saw the rum and raisin so the owner gave me a taster and it was incredible.The little time we where in the shop the owner and his wife where very helpful loved the place I will go back because the Cupcake was Stupendous.

We popped into Lou Lou's coffee shop and we're so pleased we did. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. We had a flat white coffee which was so delicious, we bought a bag of beans to enjoy the taste at home. The array of ice creams was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Cute wee place to eat ,soup and toasties were delicious! Bread was lovely. Extensive menu to suit everyone's needs and tastes.We also bought gluten free cakes to take home which our daughter says are delicious! The owner ,cook and other staff were very chatty and friendly too .Quirky surroundings and great range of sweeties and fancy tins if chocolates, candles and more .Will definitely be back to try the ice cream or sorbets .

Brilliant wee place...amazing ice cream

Much more than wonderful ice cream. We have looked for ice cream to rival the best we had in Germany. We found it. The minestrone soup and toasty was pretty darned good too.

We love Loulou's and visit regularly, but today my little girl dropped her ice cream seconds after it was handed to her and the staff couldn't have been any nicer 😍 she had a total meltdown and they just quickly got her a new one which she was obviously delighted with! Such great service in addition to great ice cream!

A big thankyou for our visit today. We had visited another cafe who told us they were closing at 4pm so we visited you and so glad we did. We had your lovely homemade soup and falafel wrap then couldn't leave without trying the wonderful ice cream you have...a choice of 26 flavours! Wow. Friendly and warm. What a great little place.

Went a few days ago. The icecream was lovely but had black bits throughout it and my boyfriend got a milkshake with an actual moth in it :) will not be back So after the response from the owner here is what I have to say. The black bits in the vanilla ice cream did not bother me and tasted fine. That wasn’t the point of the review. I was not aware of the moth in the milkshake until after we had left the establishment. My boyfriend simply didn’t drink anymore once he found it and told me later as we were celebrating our anniversary and he didn’t want to dampen the mood. How about instead of insinuating I have ulterior motives just accept accountability? Not amazing customer service from yourself. Very disappointing but whatever

While waiting in a queue for icecream my daughter spots the Equis icecream sign across the street... so we soon head over to browse the wide selection of fantastic icecreams on offer and what a selection there was to choose from. In the end we selected Turkish delight, Oreo and Banana waffle cones. Staff were helpful and very friendly Icecream is Amazing We will definately be back...

Just had a couple of coffees and took out a couple of ice creams, very pleasant staff so we'll come again when up this way again.

Having been put off visiting the Port Edgar eateries by the recent appearances of rather expensive parking charges we parked at the other end of South Queensferry and walked along the High Street looking for somewhere for lunch. We happened across Lou Lou's and had a lovely tomato soup and a wrap. The drinks, particularly the coffee, were really good and the owner was friendly. We would recommend this to anyone visiting South Queensferry and looking for a bite to eat.
