Louie Brown's Bar Kitchen & Deli in Fife

Visited Louie Browns twice recently - once for a large group family birthday meal and again today for lunch. On both occasions we were served by Mark who welcomed us warmly, was attentive and provided great service. We couldn’t fault his service especially with a few specific food requirements - he made sure everyone’s meal was just as we asked, All of the food was delicious and served piping hot. In our party everyone enjoyed their meals - Burger, Fish and Chips, Cajun Chicken Pasta and Steaks, The restaurant always have a lovely atmosphere,

We have visited Louis Browns off and on for years and for various reasons without any issue. It has been taken over by another Fife restaurant firm and while the menu, so far, has remained the same, everything else has gone downhill rapidly. Our waitress was surly and unfriendly when we asked for a table near the door to accommodate one of or party. Our meal was perfectly adequate and well presented. We were given the bill with “an optional 10%” added to it. In fairness this was pointed out and we were able to have the bill reissued without the charge. All in all not a good visit and we are unlikely to return to what was a busy, vibrant, well run establishment.

Popped in here on a whim with my mum and my wee boy. Just had hot drinks and desserts. Lovely coffee, lovely puddings, really nice staff, night atmosphere

Well, where do I start. After reading and listening to great reviews I arrived with great anticipation. Disappointed doesn't even come close. Service.. POOR. Food absolutely DISAPPOINTING.. some of the food was inedible. First visit there and it will be our last. People must be easily pleased considering the standard of the food.

My friend chose this establishment for lunch for us. We ordered drinks and perused the menu. The choices were not firm favourites for me. I finally opted for macoroni cheese and garlic bread, my friend chose pan fried fillet of salmon prosciutto wrapped in fondand potatoes mango and celeriac puree and roasted half red onion. THe food seemed to be slow to come out and the dishes listed on the menu were very expensive. The food was hot and a fair portion size but average. We decided against ordering sweets. We paid our bill and left to go somewhere else. Would not recommend and will not be back.

My family and I ate in this restaurant for Sunday lunch. I had a half portion of Sunday Roast which was delicious and also came with cauliflower cheese. The half portion was plenty of food. The beef was very tender. The staff, particularly our server, Pauline, was very helpful and attentive. We will go here again! :-)

Came for burns evening, what a disappointment/ disaster Half us went in the main menu & half us had the special burns menu. I didn’t fancy the burns menu as the menu wasn’t appealing (not sure who writes the menus here, definitely not a chef, mango & celeriac purée 🤦. Food was overall 2/10 Service 3/10 Price -10/10 unbelievable over price for an average food, well poor average tbh. Drink 7/10 can’t go wrong with few wines & beers Got a feeling some of the recent reviews are fake so just take them with a pinch of salt. Had our works Chrsitmas meal and drinks yesterday. Party of 10/11 people. Ordered food prior - Pauline did our table service and was pleasant and friendly easy to ask questions and happy to help. Food was nice and starter and main a good portion size too, christmas pudding was a little small but tasted nice. Vegetarian options were a little disappointing and maybe something to think about next year an option or 2 would be nice. Drinks were nice when we went to the bar. Reserved a table prior to arriving for drinks and didn't get enough seats but staff tried to accommodate. Biggest down side was trying to pay the bill - staff really need to have time to pay attention 3 times it took going back and forth to sort.

Quality venue, varied, well-priced menu. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Staff excellent, special mention for Pauline who looked after us so well.

We visited, as a group of 14, for the Christmas lunch set menu for our family Christmas get together. We've been for the last few years each December and this year was the best experience yet. The service was attentive, the portion sizes generous, the value was very good and the location/atmosphere ideal for our family catchup. Thanks and hopefully we'll see you next year if not before.

Pros; Food good and tasty. Service was really good. Staff were friendly and attentive Wine tasted good. Nice atmosphere. Now to the cons: Was busy inside and noise level was to loud. The diet coke bottles are tiny!! Too small that had to order more of them - know companies want to earn money but this is unacceptable.

When were there on a Saturday night. When we arrived the place was at full tilt, the buzz was amazing, and the place has a glamourous touch. The cocktails were excellent and at a good price. We were given a table in a quieter part of the restaurant. The menu has a varied range of choices. The portions aren't small , chips were good but could be have been better, the pad chicken starter was a little large and very rich, perhaps more salad for balance ? On the whole everyone one enjoyed their food. Price point is excellent. The service was excellent from all those who served us. We had a really enjoyable time.

Brilliant food and atmosphere here. We were welcomed and seated quickly, and well taken care of. Pauline gave us some really great chat and recommendations too. I woukd definitely recommend it here.

I came in with my family and I was told I would be seated in a quiet area as my mother is partially deaf and can be overwhelmed. We were seated and my husband complained as it was too noisy, we had a middle aged Australian man rudely tell us he had nothing else and could not do anything and proceeded to ignore us for the duration for our stay. The food was quick and it was great I had the salmon salad and it was exceptional. Unfortunately again the bill was wrong and our server had a horrible attitude with us, it was really disappointing as the other people that looked after us were amazing as was the food. I would recommend this place as a whole but, unfortunately one bad, overseen all the good.

We have been to Louie Brown’s many, many times and without a doubt is our favourite restaurant. The food, ambience and friendliness of staff are all exceptional. We have celebrated two 80th birthday parties there and numerous meals with friends and family and have had nothing but a good experience every time we go. We were there again last night (Thursday 15th August) with family and again had a fantastic meal. The staff are always friendly, attentive and accommodating, but last night I felt compelled to speak to Kieran, the owner, who is so nice and also very friendly, to express our gratitude for another great night and to his great staff. In particular, Lauren, who was so very friendly, enormously helpful and was just amazing with our two year old grandson, so caring, in short Lauren is wonderful. Thank you so much everyone, we will be back.

My wife and I had lunch at Louie Brown’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Booking a table a couple of hours in advance by telephone was straightforward. We were welcomed to our seat in a reasonably private area and looked after by very friendly Pauline, who asked about our occasion and offered us free bubbly to celebrate. Drinks available include draught and bottled beers, wines, cocktails and a large variety of whiskies, plus soft drinks. There are plenty of Gluten and Dairy-free options on the main menu, so no need for a separate menu. I ordered Caprese Salad and Beef Pad Thai, my wife ordered Firecracker Prawns and Fish & Chips in gluten-free batter. Drinks and starters arrived quickly and the owner offered us more free bubbly. We didn’t have to wait long for our mains either. The food was great without being too fancy and came in generous portions, good value for money. It’s good that they have proper GF options for things like Fish & Chips, you don’t often find that. We were offered desserts and coffees but both too full for anything else.

First time at Louie Brown’s for my God daughters hen night. It was fab, great atmosphere, food and drinks. Pauline looked after us so well - she is an asset to Louie Brown’s. Thank you - I’ll definitely be back 🥰

Earley Saturday morning visit outside in the beautiful patio. Staff friendly, smiley and professional. Very attentive to our dog with a welcomed water bowl on arrival. Lovely coffee in the sunshine. Tho owner is always attentive. We'll be back!

Went here for a special birthday celebration and were pleased that this was the venue chosen. A great selection of food on the menu, attentive service and all twelve in our party thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We were given plenty time to enjoy our meals despite the restaurant being busy and never felt that we were being hurried. Parking close to the venue is a bit limited, but there is additional parking available in the car park at the adjacent shopping centre about three minutes walk away. Overall excellent.

Absolutely excellent and well worth a visit. Beautiful place with a lot of attention to detail on service, cleanliness and design. Food was probably one of the best around. Thank you for a very pleasant memory

Table for 1 and I was made to feel very welcome, fillet steak was tasty and cooked perfectly, would not hesitate to return and try something else from their varied menu.

I used to love coming here but the food we had was absolutely yuk. The gammon arrived with sultanas in the gravy - the Thai curry was like an Indian thick curry and had a man bread with it, this was not eaten and they took it off the bill. The fajitas had like an uncle bens sauce with it and lots of it - never had fajitas like that, not nice at all,,,, the dish with the mashed potatoes was cold in the middle. It’s put me off coming here now which is a shame as the place is lovely and so is the staff but the food is too expensive to leave most on the plates.

Lovely restaurant with gorgeous decor. Had the most yummy nachos (portions were huge could easily share).hubby had club sandwich again huge portion chips were a bit disappointing. Would def go back.

We came in last Wednesday as it was the bar’s tenth anniversary & had an absolutely fantastic experience. Very well looked after by the attentive staff with very good quality food & beer. The surroundings & decor also have a very premium feel. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lóuie Brown’s to anyone!

This is our goto place. It has everything we want for all different occasions, be that Birthdays, retirements, Celebrating New Year and for a relaxing time. All the Staff are very friendly and eager to help. Always aiming to please. Give this place a try if you haven’t already done so. The cocktails are amazing.

As always, another lovely evening spent in Louie's. Our favourite place. Meal delicious, service excellent, staff friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is always great and my drinks are always served just how I like them! Roll on our next visit.

We visited the restaurant for a family birthday celebration. We had pre-ordered the food due to the size of our group. Although the restaurant was very busy when we visited, the service was excellent. We were all impressed with the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend.

Visited last weekend with a group of friends for dinner and cocktails and a big catch up! Everyone really enjoyed their meal, we all had different things each. I had the bang bang chicken to start with, which was delicious and for main I had the crab and prawn linguine, 10/10 from me. Will defo be back, again and again. The cocktails I tried were all really good! And our waitress really made sure we were never wanting for anything. Thankful that we have a place near by to have a nice relaxed catch-up with friends in a lovely setting with such good food, cocktails and pleasant waiting staff

WHAT A TREAT! My friends and I came over to fife for a change from the usual city visits, since we were staying in south Queensferry we thought we would jump the train to Dalgety Bay. After visiting a couple decent local pubs we found Louie Browns! Fantastic! Food was top notch, my friend can’t have gluten… no problem! They easily catered for everyone! I had the steak and hats off to the butcher, because it’s probably the best steak I’ve had in recent years! The cocktail list is pretty unbelievable for being outside of Edinburgh as well, beers were good and very fairly priced. The thing that got us all though was the decor of the place! Super stylish, very clean and clearly well looked after. Staff were great and I’m not sure I can pick out a negative from our trip. We are all already planning another visit and will be recommending it for sure! Well done guys 👏

We went here with family for dinner. Two of us unfortunately ordered fish and chips off the menu. It was revolting. Apart from the minute piece of fish, the majority of the ‘fish’ was the slime of obnoxious batter which impregnated the fish. The price was £15.95 so it is reasonable to expect better? I nominate this as my worst ‘restaurant’ meal of the year, and would win the award even in the free meal category. It’s almost in the worst ever meal category but nothing could be worse than Beefeater. This is another ‘restaurant’ where one meal means never again. Why are meals such as this deemed acceptable in this country. I complained but that was a waste of time. Avoid at all costs. PS My pint of lager was OK but you need something stronger to eat here.
