In my opinion, the staff are rude. There was a lovely lady who used to take orders and answer the phone but it seems she left.

Was struggling to hear on the phone due to signal and I could not understand what the guy said. The dude got pretty exasperated fast and lost himself a customer.

Amazing Staff named Johnson , well done and full of patience. Food are no comment at all standard and good quality.

The best chicken satay I've had for a long time!! So tasty and peanutty and not greasy at all! I forgot to take a picture of it on the skewers so this is after I'd pulled the skewers out. A good amount of sauce with it too. Highly recommend trying this dish. Literally only grabbed this and chips in the way home after a night out but will be back! We got there at 10.55pm and they close at 11pm. Wasn't sure if they would serve us but they very kindly did with a smile even though we could see they were ready to go.

Very disapointed with our food tonight. Is there a new Chef? Normally the food is lovely. We paid £30 for our meal. My king chow mein was tasty BUT the king prawns were dirty prawns with poo still in tact inside the prawn! Put me right off!!! The meat on the spare ribs were as dry as paper... totally overcooked & very fatty aswell... The egg fried rice was very hard Over all not a great experiance...

Got a great meal from here. Been getting take away for here for years. Never had any issues. From ordering by phone to pickup was just 15 minutes. Definitely recommend. Parking is ok unless Marlborough is super busy. But if you are in and out quick you can usually find a space or double park for a minute to pick up the food.

Would appear to be either under new management or has new chef. Food was excellent quality! Best I have had from there in 2 years. It's overpriced for what it is but if you want a Chinese fix, it's certainly his the spot.

Feels new owners again. I visited about 12 months ago and the food was awful. This time, the food was far far better. It was hot, not too greasy and plentiful. Only negative is that I would have expected complimentary prawn crackers on a £45 takeaway for two…!

Food was okay but portions were absolutely shockingly small. Rip off for what you pay. Half portion of chips and half portion of a main meal and paid full price. Will consider returning if they increase their portion size as it feels like no value for your money. Usually the plastic tubs are filled to the top, all of ours were 1/3 full.

Straight garbage, skip it, you'd be better off with a ready meal. Special fried rice, £7, paltry portion and 2 tiny prawns in the whole thing, prawn toast with no sauce. Honestly a heap of you know what. I wish Marlborough had a good Chinese, unfortunately it doesn't.

Not bad a little Chinese takeaway. Food tastes decent. Just slightly higher price than some other similar in bigger urban areas.

Ordered at 10pm on a Sunday and was ready in 15 minutes, food was hot and tasted great

The sweet and sour sauce was revolting and ruined our meal

Ordered vegetable chow mein only to receive special chow mein with prawns and meat, as a vegetarian this is totally unacceptable. Returned them and swapped for the correct meal, lady on the counter did not even offer an apology or seem to care. Portions are smaller now than ever with little or no thought in taste and quality. Place has gone down hill since change of owners, being going there for 18 years needless to say I won’t be returning.

Very nice food from here, chicken and mushroom pie was cooked in the oven not microwave tto.

Since it changed hands earley this year the food has gone down hill and they always seem to argue with customers.

It's changed hands within, I think the last month. Alas, there is no longer a great Chinese takeaway in Marlborough. How can you make beansprouts go soggy! What once a fantastic takeaway is now one to avoid.

Such a shame Think its under New management the food is really overcooked and quite greasy and this is the sample photo of the spring roll, just fell apart just not nice at all

Incredibly friendly staff, but unfortunately the food just wasn't up to my expectations for the cost. We had the half crispy duck which wasn't remotely crispy, (soggy skin that was dripping with grease). Prawn toast which was mushy in the center and had to be put in the oven at home. Crispy seaweed that was burnt and brown, and a completely tasteless chicken chow mein. I really wanted to love the food as it's the closest Chinese to us, but this was my second disappointing visit, I probably won't be back.

Whenever I have phoned an order I have ALWAYS been told how long it would be and I’ve never had to wait when I arrive. The exception was Chinese New Year when they were inundated. I have never had a bad meal from them and the food is always delicious

Shockingly bad. If you want zero taste Chinese food that has clearly just been frozen and microwaved then go here. I had chilli and salt ribs with absolutely no chilli or salt. When I called up to complain that there was no chilli, garlic, spring onion etc, just plain ribs, the man explained that they occasionally tossed the ribs in chilli oil, other than that they didn’t use any fresh ingredients. The beef in my chow mein must have been cooked at least 4 times - my own shoe leather was softer. When I called up to complain, the man wasn’t even apologetic. That was just the way they cooked things, frozen and with no fresh ingredients. Believe me, if you want a decent Chinese meal in Marlborough DO NOT got to Lotus House under any circumstances

Don't get chips here! Chinese food is good, but go next door to Yeungs for chips. He gave me just the bits at the bottom of a bag, none more than 1.5" long and many were thin bits, so half of them were hard and over done. Then he poured so much salt on that they were mostly inedible. 2 stars is a bit strong, I know, but customer service was the problem: when I went back to explain my experience and said that for £2.40 I expect better, he just mumbled and shrugged at me as if to say that's what you should expect sometimes. Thems is darned expensive chips, and when I threw half away that smarts :-(

They do a good range of Chinese food, very Al Murray, down to earth take-away. I use it regularly, Duck in black bean sauce is highly recommended.
