Ordered through just eat, app said it was delivered on time but no food arrived. Called the takeaway twice to be told that the food was on the way and they had spoken to the delivery driver. Two and a half hours later still no food, spoke to just eat and they asked us to wait longer. We cancelled and took a refund. Steer clear of this place unless you are on a diet as you will get no food!

One of the worst Chinese meals I've ever eaten starter box cold, ribs overcooked, sate sauce watered down, chicken sate main was vile was luke warm veg and poached chicken in slimmy sauce with no peanut sauce whatsoever.

I used to always use Lotus house, however after trying other Chinese takeaways in Stafford, I can honestly say this was the worst we've had in a long time. Paid over £17 for very little food. Prawn toast was cold and hard as if it had been left standing. Pork balls were much the same, extremely small and very small portion. We won't be going here again.

Lotus house is usually our go to chinese but as of recent, the food has been alright but usually fairly later than stated. The delivery driver this evening was of very poor attitude and got a mouthful back from myself, he was very rude. Service is less than you'd expect from a takeaway. if possible, go elsewhere

This place will never improve it’s delivery service. I’ve been ordering takeaways from here for past 1 year. The receptionist always says ‘your order will be delivered in 45 mins’ but it’s a lie. The minimum wait is an hour and half. I’m even sure that the manager doesn’t care about reviews. If he was to care about it, he would’ve done something about it already.If you order a takeaway from here don’t be surprised. I advise you to ask and make sure the delivery time.

We placed a telephone order at 7.15pm...said it would be here in 45 minutes... 9.15pm it finally arrived... Cold.... And soggy chips...none of the freebies either... They offered a small discount off the meal for late delivery and blamed it on a pregnant delivery driver who was slow! One meal was salt and pepper lamb... It was not lamb... We all tried it.. It did not taste of any meat I've had before.. It was vile.. Took my husbands mobile number and was told the owner would call him... Well no one called him... A lovely family meal was ruined by poor delivery service...cold food...soggy wet chips and very poor quality meals... Will not hVe from here again 🤮😠😡🤮

As a long and loyal customer I will never use lotus house again. Placed an order at 7:30 and was told it would be delivered in 40 minutes it is now 8:50 an hour and twenty minutes later and no sign of the food. I have phoned twice and have been told it is on the way. Absolutely terrible customer service. When I asked to talk to the manager, I was told he is not in!!!!! Will never use them again!!? Avoid at all costs!!

WARNING - AVOID! Do not buy from here. This take away is not worthy of even 1 star, it's not worth the risk when there are others in the same street let alone town. We ordered a take-away one Thursday night at just before 6pm. What we assumed would be a less busy time of the week. Having waited over an hour for a pretty straightforward order we rang up to find out where the food was. We were told it was STILL COOKING! Not the end of the world we thought so waited a further 40 minutes before calling again. This time we were told it had left for delivery. More time passed (and we nearly did too from starvation). At 8.05pm the food was nowhere to be seen. We decided to call to cancel the order. It was 2 HOURS and 15 MINUTES since we placed it and we had plans that evening at 8.30pm so needed to leave the house. The call we made was absolutely ridiculous. Initially the receptionist had an argument with the delivery driver whilst we were on the phone arguing on our behalf. By this point he had returned from his round and was sure he had delivered the food. Which if he had wasn't to our address or even our street because we were looking out for him. They than began to ask us if we were sure we hadn't received the order!! What the hell kind of a question is that??! The cook/owner running this 2 bit operation then insisted we had had the food and that he was sorry for the delay. Delay! A delay is when it's late not when it didn't happen. When we kept insisting on a refund he eventually told us if we wanted a refund we needed to go back to the online company, big foodie who we ordered through. We emailed big foodie (as it states to do on their website) with our request for a refund, went out as planned and ate there instead. Next morning we received an email from big foodie stating that they would not be issuing a refund and they were sorry for the DELAY in our food order and lotus house would try to be quicker next time. WTF!!! Apparently they needed the 'take-aways' permission to issue the refund and they had denied it!!!! I would not normally get this mad about a 20 quid food order but for the fact we paid for something we never received and didn't want this to happen to others. So I contacted trading standards. They informed me that lotus house were in breach of contract but the onus to prove we didn't get the food was on us. Not very simple! Fortunately buying food later that evening and having a reciept was enough proof that we hadn't already eaten. So we called big foodie and demanded that lotus house issue us a refund. Big foodie were also quite resistant to our plea and insisted it's up to the take away to allow it. Eventually they rang Lotus house and informed them we had contacted trading standards. Upon receipt of this news they immediately agreed to issue a refund but continued to insist their delivery driver had delivered the food!! Ultimately this 'take-away' has appalling customer service, even worse management of orders and is not fit to continue trading when it takes payment for food that is never delivered. They essentially called us liars and didn't ever apologise for their mistake. The receptionist even said 'it's got nothing to do with me' great business representation! If you got this far into this review well done. I'm sure I've done enough to convince you other take aways are a much better option, thanks for you're time.

We have ordered a meal this evening from the Lotus House. On the first occasion they were good, however we've ordered from them three times since over a four month period and the quality has worsened a little on each occasion. However tonight they have surpassed themselves. We ordered a meal of special curry, kung po chicken with egg fried rice, chips, prawn toast and spring rolls and asked for delivery. Now to sum up, the kung po chicken did not taste like anything I've ever had before and this is my favourite Chinese dish, I can't quite describe the taste but I know it wasn't what was ordered. The prawn toast was over cooked and slimy, it was completely soaked in oil as were the chips. The curry was not much better, the meat was old and stringy and the mushrooms were also very old and overly chewy. As for the prawn crackers, they were a lovely shade of brown in most cases and burnt, how do you burn prawn crackers?!The result it's all gone in the bin!! Clearly tonight's chef is usually the dish washer as if this is their current standard, it's time to find a new chef. To top this, the delivery was fine, however, my wife opened the door to a person in a crash helmet, which as it was dark was quite a scary experience for her, as he grunted at her and didn't actually make it clear what he was there for until he thrust a bag towards her. We have spent good money on what is for us a rare treat and so we have complained to the shop, however they did not wish to sort out the issue this evening and said, we should mention it next time we ordered, they didn't even take the details of who we were or where we were calling from and I'm pretty certain, they won't remember if we try to redeem this in the future. So we will put this one down to experience, we will not be ordering again, but we will be telling all the friends and family we know that use them what a poor and discourteous service they offer and that their customer service along with their food is of a very poor standard. This place is terrible and from experience, it appears to be getting worse. Our advice would be, if you are desperate and you do use them don't have high expectations and ask if the chef has been upgraded, as this one is clearly not up to the job

Ordered a takeaway through big foodie which said would arrive in an hour.. 2 hours later still no food.. after phoning and speaking to someone to be told the food was ready & waiting for the driver to bring it we were fuming! When it eventually arrived it was cold, stale and the kung po chicken i ordered was slimy! I couldn't bear to eat it due to the fear of food poisoning.. this used to be our favourite Chinese however, I will not use them again after this!

Having previously visited lotus house when passing on foot, and being pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, I made the fatal mistake of ordering from lotus house for delivery. I was surprised to see that despite living barely 500m from the restaurant, their online ordering service charged £1.20 for delivery, but I brushed this off as I am aware of the rising costs of petrol, and was looking forward to a tasty meal. Fast forward 1 hour and 15 minutes and said meal had still not arrived. Upon calling the restaurant to enquire about the delay I was reassured that the meal was en route and would be there shortly. Another 15 minutes or so passed, and still no food. Over an hour and a half since ordering, and after 10:30pm on a Wednesday I decided that it was now much too late to eat (I had been debating at 20:30 whether it was already too late to order a large meal), and so I phoned the restaurant to cancel. I then experienced the longest, most drawn out cancellation I have ever experienced - where I felt like I was almost having to haggle with the restaurant to cancel my order. I appreciate that the restaurant did not want to lose my custom, but being the sort of person who rarely complains; I didn't want to pay for nor receive a meal that I now would not eat, and certainly did not want to pay the extra service charge that had been added to my order for service that I did not receive. I now have to go through the lengthy process of obtaining a refund through their third party online ordering service. In summary, if you are going to eat at lotus house, order for collection or simply don't bother.

So we were trying somewhere different as ou usual has recently gone a bit weird> A Saturday night the order was ready in 26 mins and was ready on time. Cost was good and tit proved tasty and good value.Slighty off putting that the order taker was also nursing her baby son but it was all friendly enough. Not sure if I'd go back

Ordered food for delivery and was told one hour, two hours later nothing, no phone call to explain no apology nothing. Rang and rang to find out where the food was constantly engaged I can only assume they took the phone off the hook. Two hours 20 mins later at 22:15 food arrived by which time we were all passed it as to late to eat. £38 wasted. Driver that delivered it didn’t apologies at all.

After a recommendation from a friend i tonight tried this Chinese, i have only lived in stafford 2 and a half years and being a lover of Chinese food i have tried almost all of them in Stafford, some are okay some are terrible, but tonights meal from lotus house was exceptional, hot delicious and delivered on time. This will be my regular Chinese and will tell all my friends and family too look no further. Well done to you and keep up the good work, one happy customer

Me dejó de pedir desde aquí, aunque la comida es buena, porque la entrega es realmente rápido o muy lento y no tiene ninguna relación en absoluto a la hora indicada en el sitio web. Hace 3 meses y me olvidé. El tiempo indicado era de 60 - 75 minutos y podría parecer una bendición que llegó en menos de 20, no acepte una estaba lista, así que la comida sentado en el lado para 15 - 20 minutos mientras que conseguimos y luego estaba frío. No nos olvidaremos de este nuevo.

We had a takeaway to celebrate Chinese New year. Order came within 30 minutes. Nice and hot. The delivery man was very friendly and helpful. The food tasted delicious. Would recommend this Chinese takeaway

We have our Saturday night take away from here most Saturday's. We always have it delivered. The food is good, sometimes because they are very busy so waiting an hour is rather along time. Very pleasant staff.

Ordered our Chinese meal but when it arrived it was not as ordered. Telephoned and was told that they didn't do what was requested yet they had done so previously. When asked why they didn't telephone to let us know the lady merely replied she was new and wouldn't do it. I expressed my disappointment and stated that I would not order from there again - 'okay' was the reply before she hung up.How do these people stay in business?

When I first move to Stafford, 14 years ago, I was recommended Lotus House. I've tried most of the others during this time but always return there. The food isn't the most exciting menu but it is good and tasty. Yes, like any takeaway the delivery maybe 10 minutes late but usually it is on the early side. Occasionally forget an item but let them know the next time you order and you will get a refund (only happend twice). Thoroughly recommended

Very late in arriving (by about 45 minutes) when it did arrive we had to heat it up in the microwave as is was lukewarm, 8:30 pm on a Friday and the roads were quiet yet the delivery man and the restaurant claimed he had been stuck in traffic. The food actually tasted OK, but the chips (once re-heated) were limp and largely inedible.

New customer to Lotus House. Incredibly disappointed with the order. Chicken and Beef Chow Mein. No Beef at all and no soy whatsoever on the food leading to a very dry and inedible meal that went straight into the bin. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and certainly won't be eating there again. When I rang to complain the Staff were laughing. Zero customer service and they don't seem to care if you come back or not!

Couldn't order online, so unable to use discount code... had to pay full price for awful food! £9.70 for a large steak kebab with 5 pieces of steak and hardly any salad, and the steak that was there was so chewy it was binned. Also sent wrong side. Would not recommend and will not reorder.

Not had a meal from here for a while. Friend told me it was really good at the moment. And it was. Special chow mein pork fried rice and SS chicken balls all very nice. Think £2.40 for prawn crackers is unnecessarily expensive especially as others give them free. All the good was good and service was quick.

Decent ish place. They can be a little slow to replace the popular and expensive buffet items. Buffet price is reasonable. The beer (the pints) are a bit dear.
