Booked Sunday lunch online. Through the website, it was easy enough to do! Simple format, quick and straightforward. Arrived and welcomed at the door, spot on welcome! We were shown to the table, offered a drinks menu when a party member wasn’t sure which wine they would like. Drinks came very quickly, food was already available considering it had just opened. One party member is coeliac, so gluten free food was ordered from the bar. This arrived after being freshly cooked. This food was absolutely delicious, hot and clearly made carefully. Gluten free “soy” sauce provided too! The other members of the party are well, the rice is always a favourite at this restaurant. Having ate in many different places and sometimes having been disappointed it’s always good here! Sunday lunch had the chocolate fountain going too, which is a great way to top off the afternoon! The staff were so friendly and polite, their help really does make this restaurant a wonderful experience!

Grandaughter choice, never again. Whilst the food was OK, the chocolate fountain which she was so looking forward too was a letdown. She usually loves the grapes drizzled with chocolate however having eaten just 2 and found part of the stalk left in both she wouldn't have any more. Prior to this she'd eaten a 4 pieces of sweet and sour chicken, 2 prawn cracker and 4 chicken nuggets and as the chocolate fountain was such a let down opted for an ice cream to finish. We were in the restaurant less than an hour. Unfortunately for me I hadn't seen there is a height restriction on children. My grandaughter is just 11 this year but tall for her age and because of that we had to pay an adult £19.50 price. We have not experienced this anywhere else and for what she had eaten I'd have been disgruntled paying the £10.50 child price. Total bill just short of £70, it would have been less in a more upmarket restaurant.Still lesson learnt we won't be going again

The food was very nice the salt and pepper chicken was a gorgeous start to my day the salt pepper chips were a very nice spice had a very nice kick to it the atmosphere was a nice casual chilled out and warm atmosphere I highly recommend to people to visit

Our party of 5 arrived for lunch at 1215hrs on a Friday, and were welcomed and shown to a table. Our drinks orders were taken, and we were then able to select our food from the extensive buffet menu. Our meals were delicious, and we were able to enjoy a wide range of items. The dessert choices were also very tasty, and included the famous soft ice cream option. Overall, a very enjoyable meal, and this venue can be highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic.. arrived here for late lunch around 1 o’clock it was extremely busy, shown to a table straight away. The selection was great lots of different meats beautiful tender beef and food was fresh and replaced quickly m, this is exactly how a buffet should be as there are not many around now. The desert selection was unbelievable delicious.. and plenty of chocolate fountain icecream machine fudge, sweets choc gat and slices of cheese cake . I didn’t want to leave. Venue was very cold making it an unpleasant experience as had to sit with coats on.starter trays virtually empty and were not replenished . Chips cold and dried up. Main dishes reasonable Desserts acceptable Not a great experience as couldn’t have the opportunity of trying all the foods as the didn’t top up the many empty trays. Wont be returning

Decent ish place. They can be a little slow to replace the popular/expensive buffet items. Buffet price is reasonable, the beer (the pints) are a bit dear.

It’s been over 15 years since I last visited this buffet. Back in the area so decided to book a table. We booked early doors Saturday 5 pm to enjoy the freshly cooked food and avoid the usual uncouth, mannerless, bloaters that frequent the buffet / carvery scene. The restaurant is large, very clean and reasonably comfortable. The service is excellent. Very friendly and efficient. The food was superb. Loads of choice including fresh salmon and prawn cocktail. The deserts are impressive and include fresh ice cream machine. 10/10. We’ll be back next we’re in the area.

It has been ten years since I last ate here. Having eaten there this week, I am reminded why. Tasteless, luke warm and bland food. Which had been under the heat lamps too long. The furniture is long past being comfortable. I had to change my seat three times to get one with a firmly padded seat. However, judging by the numbers there, my views may not be shared by everyone.

OMG. Just reminded me of a cattle market. Everyone plates dripping over the edge with as much food as they can possibly eat. If this is for you, then the food was just ok, but it’s definitely not a nice night out with your partner.

A good selection on the buffet and a good selection of deserts this restaurant takes a lot of beating for value for money, and its close proximity to the M6 makes it a good stopping off place if you are feeling hungry.

Had our grandsons 11th birthday lunch party and it was a first rate celebration. The menu is as excellent and extensive as ever, and ideally suited to young people.We provided a cake and after lunch this was brought in, candles lit and “happy birthday to you” played out over the sound system.Our grandson was given a small stuff toy and one of the staff took a family photograph and gave us a copy. Two nice and appreciated little touches.Smashing day was had by all and we would all recommend it as something out if the ordinary for a celebration.

We’ve been going to this restaurant for a few years. It’s an amazing place for the family especially for Birthdays where they make an extra special fuss of your birthday guest. The food is great, one of the best buffets I’ve been to.

This restaurant is great value for money and offers a really good variety of starters and main meals. You help yourself so it’s down to you to choose what you like, the food is hot and well cooked. Children are made very welcome and there is a play area with toys as you enter. A very family oriented restaurant, recommended.

What a pity! This place was our "must visit" every time we were in the area, which was around four times a year, every year since 2016. And the food and service has always been excellent. This time, though, things were different. Table service still good and friendly, but the food quality has taken a dive. We went on a Sunday, immediate after they opened at noon. One would expect that the food would be freshly prepared at this time, but none of the dishes were hot, there were not even any warm plates. We both agreed also that the food was bland and lacking in flavour this time. The saving grace was the Chocolate fountain and the ice cream, otherwise it would have got a "Poor" rating this time. We might try it one more time next year to see if it has improved, if not, we will have to find a new favourite.

Found this place online and gave it a try! Very busy restaurent with buffet Chinese food. Not a huge selection but this mixed with how busy it was meant that food was regularly replenished and always fresh. Food was very good and tasty. A good fill and not expensive. After my daughter passed all her GCSE’s we thought we should go out for a meal and because we have visited the Golden Orient before and the meal was delicious we thought we should go back and can I say we wasn’t disappointed because again the food was excellent and delicious. What more can you ask for. Enough said.

Stopped over for a meal with relatives whilst travelling North. This is a lovely, lively Chinese buffet style restaurant. The wide range of starters, mains and desserts is excellent. Not too expensive at £13.95 per adult. Good choice, excellent value

I took my wife, daughter and grandson (3mths) here for a change to normal Sunday pub dinner and what an excellent decision it turned out to be! There are all the normal buffet foods available and lots of choice, which were regularly topped up or changed with the inclusion of a new dish called "Dragon Balls" which turned out to be chicken balls wrapped in crispy won ton like pastry very nice, there is also a Pizza and fish fingers and chips. The one thing we don't have at my normal buffet restaurant is the vast array of deserts, fresh fruit, various jellies, truffle, chocolate fountain with many items to dunk into it, even a Mr Whippy ice cream machine. There is a good selection. at the bar at good prices. We sat down at 12.30 and by the time we left at 1.45 the place was half full but they had not grouped us up all in one section they had left us all with a little space and enough room for my daughter to nurse her son in private. We had a loverly dinner all for £49.55 an absolute bargain. The only downside it is in Stafford and we live in Dudley, but will happily travel the 90 minute round trip for a meal here.

When I ask my Grandson where he'd like to go for lunch his first response is always this place - he loves it! There's plenty of choice for all the family, from traditional dishes to more familiar foods (fishfingers/pizza etc). Not to mention the chocolate fountain, ice-cream machine, fresh fruits galore and multiple yummy desserts to top it all off. Something for everyone at a reasonable price..

Cards on the table; I'm not a fan of buffets and I gave this place a try because of the lousy meal I had the night before at the Brewers Fayre attached to the Premier Inn.

Last minute family meal out with a 3 year & 6 year old. Indian or Chinese? We went for Chinese. I would say probably the best buffet I have had! Great choice and every dish tasted great. Service was also excellent nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend and probably come here rather than ordering a takeaway.

We had not intended to go here but could not being able to find the entrance to the restaurant we wanted, this is where we finished up!. Being fond of oriental food this came up to expectations. Notices about not wasting food are strategically placed. Good idea in this type of restaurant. Everything freshly cooked & you can go back to the buffet as many times as you like. Food was excellent, hot & replenished at regular intervals. As a bonus we foung the entrance to our original choice. Next time maybe or perhaps the Golden Orient again!

Loved my night and loved the food, thank you. My kids, who are normally picky about there food enjoyed everything we put on there plate. My 5yo was obsessed with the salmon. Whole salmon cooked to perfection. Thank you again!

This is a great place to drop in for a quick lunch. Lots of variety. The last time we visited was a few months ago but we noted that it was about due for some redecoration as it was showing serious wear and tear.

As Chinese buffet places to go this I would have too highly rate. The choices are varied and well cooked. The restaurant itself is well laid out with plenty of space so as not too feel crowded. The prices for what you get are very reasonable. All in all I would have no problem recommending this place to anyone who enjoys his Chinese food.

This was near hotel we were staying in so thought we would try it. Was a busy evening but managed to get a table without too long of a wait. We were shown to table then staff just left us to it.

We always love to visit this restaurant when we are in UK . Great variety of food. Even if you are on diet you can always find something for yourself. Recommended!

We always go to this restaurant for our work meals, and we've never been disappointed. The staff will always try to accommodate you with whatever you need. We had two vegans in our team and they were kind to cook some sweet and sour tofu when we asked. The food is always really good, and you always leave very satisfied. It's a good area for socializing, good for friends, families, and work.

I was more than a little disappointed. The Golden Orient used to be quite good for a cheap mid week meal but the food was not brilliant, the choice poor and old favourites totally missing. No banana fritters, no little eclairs, no red jelly but there was lots of noodles, lots of rice and other 'cheap' food.

decided to eat here when staying at premier inn close by, as the pub was full. Place really busy but quickly seated and drink soon forthcoming. long queues for buffet, not sure why as just about every dish was greasy and almost inedible. tried several dishes all bland and tasteless and designed to fill you up. Incredible that the place was full, probably says a lot about local alternatives. Paid bill and left for a leisurly walk back to the hotel. This soon turned into a swift trot as the food was working through very quickly . just made it to the hotel room in time. From plate to tilet pan in less than 30 mins . i am still wary about passing wind several days later. A place certainly to avoid in future, unless of course you are having trouble going!.

We stopped off at this restaurant for lunch on our way to Wolverhampton racecourse. The restaurant is very pleasant and spacious inside. The starters available included soup, spring rolls, spare ribs, chicken pieces, prawn toast and samosas. There was no soup left when I went to get some but the waiter brought some over to my table which I found good. The main dishes available included sweet and sour chicken, beef and black bean sauce, chicken curry and noodles of two kinds and rice. The desserts were among the best I have seen in a Chinese restaurant and included delicious soft ice-cream, cheesecakes, trifles and fruit. Although there wasn't a huge choice of starters and main courses, I felt that the quality of the food made up for this and at £7.95 per person, one musn't grumble.

Nice place and food always seems nice and fresh. They appear to bring smaller amounts out than some similar places but the turnover is constant so you are always getting fresh. There does not appear as much choice as some places here but what they do, they do well. Better to do fewer dishes well that lots of dishes bad I guess. Always seems very clean.

Visited this evening with my parents and girlfriend, absolutely superb service and high quality food. I've always been wary of buffets and I'm quite a fussy eater but this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. All of the food is delicious, hot, and fresh. Highly recommended.

Honesty the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. Avoid at all costs. For an all you can eat buffets it does well to make you not even be able to stomach one plate.

Ok, it is one of those massive buffet restaurants that tries to please everybody and really only please as those who want to eat huge amounts of decidedly average Chinese food. Too sweet, too much MSG and far too Bland. There was nothing distinctive about anything that I hate although the spare ribs were just above average. You can't really complain about a place like this because you know what you're going to get and it's not high cuisine. However I really cannot understand the many 5-star reviews.

I ate here whilst staying overnight at the nearby Premier Inn as I fancied a change from the usual offerings at the Beefeater style pub next door. A good choice - I was impressed with the choice and the quality of the food. The restaurant was very busy so the buffet turned over very quickly, which meant everything was only ever a few minutes old. Nice friendly staff and drinks at not outrageous prices makes this a real value for money place to eat. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed.

Not the best food I have eaten or the worst if being honest. My only real critisism would have to be being charged an adults price buffet meal for a child due to the fact my daughter is taller than 1.4metre. A child is a child in my opinion and doesn't eat as much as an adult.

Celebrating my wife's birthday with our family the Golden Orient was her choice. We all enjoyed the buffet with its large and tasty selection. The food was fresh and hot with the lady refreshing the selection all the while. This is the fourth time we have used this venue to celebrate her birthday and her favourite which the family love.
