I don't what has happened but the Lotus house has gone right down hill. My meal smells of burnt rice. The rice is horrible. The sweet and sour chicken is burnt. So poor. Only good thing is the prawn crackers.

Back to its former glory, I am so happy to see this place back to how it was. The food is delicious, and the service is top notch. So glad to have this place back on my list of eateries ....

I can honestly say this is the best Chinese we've had in such a long time. The food was outstanding, hot plentiful and so yummy. All the flavours were excellent. The food tasted delicious all of it. I would highly recommend. Also the driver was so polite and just excellent service. I ordered the set meal for 2. Salt & pepper chicken. Large chips & a curry sauce. I honestly can't wait for my next Chinese night in because this is my new favourite place. Thank you.

Disgusting chinese, mushy stuff which i think is meant to be beef in the vermichelli. Wouldnt feed to my bulldog.

Under new management, after seeing on Facebook about the new management, I decided to pay another visit. The food was really tasty and good quality, a bit pricey but I don't mind paying for good portions and tasty food. Looking forward to going back soon to try other favorite meals.

Ordered a delivery. It arrived on time, pleasant delivery man and the food piping hot. Biggest and best salt and pepper ribs I've ever had. All the food was good, and really decent portions. Highly recommended.

Ordered this evening for the first time and so glad we did. We have been looking in the area for a great Chinese and so far haven’t really found anything until now. Food was incredible, tasted very fresh, price was reasonable and portions were massive. Would definitely recommend 👍

Food ordered 7pm for delivery . Nothing 1hr45 mins later so rang to check status . Apparently was being cooked . Now 9.45pm and still no food . Guess family will be staying hungry . Extremely embarrassing for a take away that I’ve used for several yrs ! 😞 Should not take orders they cannot meet 👎

I can't say enough good things about this Chinese takeaway. The variety on the menu is impressive. The flavors are authentic and the portions are generous. The young girl who took my order yesterday is so cute. Whether it's a quick lunch or a family dinner, this place has become our go-to choice. Highly recommended!

Probably the worst Chinese meal we have ever had. The special curry contained low quality meats and had zero shrimps in it. The curry sauce was bland and very thin. The chow mien was burnt and the chicken was extremely dry. The whole dish seemed like it was reheated in a microwave. The prawn crackers were stale, also seemed they’d been cooked a few days beforehand and warmed up prior to delivery. Will not be ordering anything from Lotus again and the app will be deleted.. £34 totally wasted

I’ve been coming here for a long time and never had a problem. I have a sea food allergy so they normal cook my chips with fresh oil. I phoned before to order some salt and pepper chips and reminded the women I have a sea food allergy as I do every time I order. I went to pick my food up and paid for it and she then told me they had been cooked in normal oil.. I told her I couldn’t have them and she started saying to me I’ll have to pay again because she never heard me! I have had no refund or no food I am so disappointed as I’ve never had a problem with this place.

Excellent Chinese takeaway where the food is always spot on

Normally good, missed my fried rice of my takeout which made my Sweet and sour pork very tangy. £25 for a meal that didn’t make me feel like going back again.

I ordered peking chicken and called up to make sure it was crispy chicken (they confirmed) I was not sent crispy chicken and called again to ask for it to be sent out again, I was told yes 10 minutes on the phone I wanted 20 and called again as I was hungry then I was told on the phone I didn’t ask for crispy chicken when I specifically called and made sure it was going to be crispy chicken. I only like chicken this way and will not eat it any other way. I have asked for a refund on only the chicken baring in mind this was a £57 order and I have not yet received a refund I will not be ordering from here again as the staff are very rude and don’t understand English very well which is probably the reason this happened in the first place.

Order crispy chilli beef and you get beef with ginger. The food is always cold, not fresh. After thinking oh we will try this place again tonight's......A warning ⚠️ don't order from this place. Report it to them no apology. Don't order that way you qant be disappointed.

I ordered some spare ribs and asked for them to be well done. They obviously don't know the meaning of 'spare' as in 'sparingly' or well done. I was expecting to have some individually boned, dark coloured thin ribs - as they're obviously the easiest to get 'well done' Instead, I paid £7.10 which is the most I've ever paid anywhere in the UK for BBQ ribs - and got the biggest, fattest - nothing spare about them ribs I've ever seen. And all of them were double boned - you should never ever get any ribs double boned from a chinese takeaway or restaurant. The chef is obviously incompetent and has no idea how to cook chinese BBQ spare ribs. They were the worst ribs I've ever seen in any takeaway or restaurant in over 30 years (which in my lifetime is ever). Never ever seen ribs as bad as the ones I was served tonight. I've just finished a late shift and drove back to the takeaway but they'd already closed. You can keep my money - I left the ribs for you. They were disgusting and I will never ever give money to you again. This used to be my go to chinese - it has obviously changed hands and the standard has gone from high to non existent. I will pass the word around to all my family and friends and say I don't know about the other dishes but they have no idea how to cook BBQ spare ribs - double ribs? Omg.

Really bad. The mains far to sweet the chips really dry and the chicken was chewie. Only thing decent was the prawn crackers

Waited an hour and forty five minutes for food, phoned them and they claim they accidentally delivered to the wrong address. Anyway still no food.

What’s happened? This used to be our favourite Chinese but the last few have been terrible!

Food as expected, nothing special, once it finally arrived. Didn't appreciate it taking 1 1/2 hours for a simple 1 course meal for 2 to arrive, clearly inaccurate information given to customers via Just Eat app. Also didn't appreciate being lied to when querying if our order had been dispatched, was told it had been and still didn't arrive for 30 mins, we live about 1 mile away and were hoping for a nice convenient meal. Disappointing instead of a nice treat, won't bother again 😪

Ordered chop suey roll and special fried rice tonight. All arrived in good order and in good time. The chop suey roll was ok and acceptable. The special fried rice was quite frankly disgusting. Under cooked meat in a watery garlic tasting sauce. And the best bit….a pile of fat on the plate. Sorry but never again.

Poor, poor, very bloody poor!!!! We ordered at 17.05. We were told that the food would take 35 - 50 minutes, which was fine. The takeaway rang at 18:05, and said the driver was close and she’ll contact the driver and tell him to ring us, the driver never did. I went out on foot to see if I could see him/her, meanwhile my fiancé was trying to get hold of the takeaway. The shop did answer but we found it very hard to understand what was being said. We ended up driving down to the takeaway in our own car to then find out that the original call taken by us was from the 5 or 6 year old child that was sitting behind the counter. To top this all off, we ended up paying for the food in full but got a free can of coke in compensation. Avoid at all costs, and we’ll be never going back to Lotus Chinese takeaway ever again!!

This has to be the worst Chinese take away I've eaten at..Chicken(doubt it is)is like rubber..Rice put a fork into it and the whole rice came out of the tray in one huge piece. Avoid like the plague.Truly awful food

Ordered food online. Once paid time displayed to be delivered was 2 hours!!!!!!!!! 2 ½ hours now. Just called them up and I’ve got to go and collect in 35 mins with no refund for delivery charges. So all in all 3hrs 5mins !

Absolutely disgusting, wrong order and couldn't even eat it. My partner rang back and was told manager wasn't in and pretty much tough. He actually ate some of his and it's 5am now, he's been up being sick most of the night. Great birthday treat. Never again, contemplating reporting to environmental health as there's something seriously wrong

The chicken&sweet corn soup was tasteless the prawn toast was burnt, the barbecue ribs were dry I would not recommend not very good value especially for £49

Good service and delicious food

Tried this place for the first time in 2020 after my previous fave (Ma's) closed down, and other than the odd long wait on a Friday or Saturday here and there I haven't had any issues with them. Really love their S&P chips, and their mains portions are always big enough for leftovers the next day. Delivery drivers are so friendly too.

very very bad. I will never get anything from this place again. Food was old tasting like mouldy old reheated food. Went in rubbish bin all £35 worth of food. Any place is better than this horrible attempt of Chinese food.

We've been coming here for years and always loved it. Until recently, the food is overpriced and tasteless. Im wondering if someone new has taken over because its gone down hill fast.

Two-and-a-half hour wait for a delivery. When the food did arrive it was bland and tasteless. Won't be going here again.

Hands down the no1 chinese in the area. Its not cheap but the quality more than makes up for the price. Prawn toast are a must.

Ordered online, I get they're going to be busy at this time but I've just spent £30 on 4 items (easily the most expensive take away I've ever used) with a 80 min wait time. We're now 2 hours in and no sign. No one is answering the phone so we're cooking our dinner. If they knew they couldn't deliver the order they shouldn't have taken it. They should also have the courtesy to answer their phone too. Bad profiteering don't take advantage of the current situation

Telephoned my usual Chinese and found out they were closed. Obviously I panicked, what am I going to do. I’d had food from lotus years ago and I didn’t have any bad memories so thought I’d try there. Big mistake. Had to wait a long time to collect, which is fair enough. The food itself was not good. Had chicken curry. The chicken was plentiful but dry. I’ve come to expect some veg with the meat when I have a curry. There was very little of anything other than chicken and onion. The rice was in clumps and sticking together and the chips were over cooked. It generally didn’t look nice on the plate which is important. It was also quite a bit more expensive than my usual place. Most of it went in the bin. Definitely never ordering from here again.

I order here every time I want chinese couldn’t reccomend a better place.

Never had a bad takeaway from here and I'm really surprised people have had a bad experience. We make the trip from Urmston to lotus as the quality is so much better than our local chinese takeaway. My favourites are the Peking ribs and the ginger and spring onion is always a winner

Best described as vile. Meat uneatable. Swimming in a grey fatty gravy and stomach turning. Binned after 2 mouthfuls. Given it a 1 star rating because I cannot give it a negative rating. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
