Nice cafe, with good food and coffee. But they regularly have slow and poor service. It took us about 20 minutes to get a coffee and some sandwiches.

I really do love eating in the cafe, the views especially are interesting out the windows (unlike the new M&S cafe which has none). The staff, especially the guy with the tattoos (what a legend!), are always friendly and helpful. It's not always obvious that they do hot food, as people seem to miss reading the menu at the start (where you pick up the trays). The selection of cakes is always tempting. Top tip, download the John Lewis app and get free stuff, today I had two free hot drinks and two cakes, that's like £15 worth of stuff, for Free! Amazing!

Why is there no opening time for this coffee shop? Phoned JL HQ and they said it was 10-10 tomorrow. Said that was highly unlikely as it always closed earlier than that - hence why I was seeking advice. Operator could not help further. Explained that last time I visited to meet a friend it was closed for 8 weeks in the first instance but nobody knew when it was due to open. This is not a good way to get visitors to the store

It's really sad the once Great John Lewis has come to this. Poor food, cafeteria styling dreary and utterly clueless Saturday staff. Please get someone who is interested and cares about food to run this. Paper cups and plates too.

Met up here with a friend who was on holiday from Australia Was getting scones and butter when a lovely lady called Sue came and explained that if we had the afternoon tea which was coffee scones with cream and jam it was better value We took her advice and it was really delicious and excellent value thankyou Sue

1116 Chester RoadHaving dined in the restaurant previously with the family and had a really enjoyable 5🌟 meal, we decided to order a takeaway ready for us to watch the big ENGLAND V SCOTLAND game. Our orders were placed and we were told it would be ready in about half an hour. When we arrived to collect (I parked around the back, whilst my wife collected the meal) after 5 minutes my wife came back and said we will have to wait as the girl on the telephone (whose JOB is to take orders and pass on to the chef) hadn't even passed our request to the chef! After another 30 minutes we finally received our order, which when we arrived home we're missing the extras we had asked for (but we're still charged for!) it wasn't even as if the restaurant was busy either, so we were really disappointed by the whole experience!

La señora que entregar y Russell le ofrece rápida y siempre dispuesto a ayudar! Estar en el mundo de adelgazamiento y Leigh es su increíble también, llamado en hoy y dijeron que utilizan luz fry, gran saben otro más delgado está preparando la comida.

4 The OrientI came here today and the woman who served me was lovely. As a vegan my favourite sub here is the meatless meatball marina and it was delightful. When I got to the kiosk the woman serving asked me if I wanted her to change her gloves as she had touched meat. Whilst, many may say this should be assumed as a yes, she may not have known if I was anti-meat and / or may have wanted to know my genuine views balanced against the waste of gloves. Anyway, it was delicious and great service.
