Place to eat by John lewis in Trafford

Filthy. No tables cleaned. Dirty floor. Chaos ordering. What's going on?

The worst JL cafe we’ve ever been too. Food is terrible, sandwiches have zero filling, staff just too busy chatting, no atmosphere and still hungry 🤤 Tea was lukewarm…….should have known when we walked in considering how empty it was.

Popped in for a free drink we got offered. Admittedly never looked twice at the cafe ever. Very dated, mid-2000’s decor. No teaspoon given with tea, just a canteen style grey cutlery tray. No teaspoons so had to use a soup soon (huge ick using food utensils with drinks!). Overall clean enough and friendly staff but definitely tired and surprising that this place seems to be forgotten about by higher ups for such a busy flagship store in the North.

I have been visiting John Lewis Café at the Trafford Centre for a long time. I used to come for shopping and coffee, but I stopped visiting for a while. Now, I am back, and everything is just as good as before: the same taste, the same great service, and the same cozy atmosphere. I love this café because the food is delicious, especially the desserts. Today, I tried the cheesecake, and it was absolutely amazing! If you visit the Trafford Centre, I strongly recommend trying John Lewis Café.

20 minutes to process 6 people. Come on - it seems like you are doing it on purpose.

Nice cafe, with good food and coffee. But they regularly have slow and poor service. It took us about 20 minutes to get a coffee and some sandwiches.

Went here yesterday and it was great lovely staff , good food and good atmosphere and also reminded me of a school canteen love layout thanks

I really do love eating in the cafe, the views especially are interesting out the windows (unlike the new M&S cafe which has none). The staff, especially the guy with the tattoos (what a legend!), are always friendly and helpful. It's not always obvious that they do hot food, as people seem to miss reading the menu at the start (where you pick up the trays). The selection of cakes is always tempting. Top tip, download the John Lewis app and get free stuff, today I had two free hot drinks and two cakes, that's like £15 worth of stuff, for Free! Amazing!

Why is there no opening time for this coffee shop? Phoned JL HQ and they said it was 10-10 tomorrow. Said that was highly unlikely as it always closed earlier than that - hence why I was seeking advice. Operator could not help further. Explained that last time I visited to meet a friend it was closed for 8 weeks in the first instance but nobody knew when it was due to open. This is not a good way to get visitors to the store

It's really sad the once Great John Lewis has come to this. Poor food, cafeteria styling dreary and utterly clueless Saturday staff. Please get someone who is interested and cares about food to run this. Paper cups and plates too.

Dreary dreadful and overly outdated, just like the one at the Trafford Center. Food choice, pricing, pomposity.....all misplaced.

Met up here with a friend who was on holiday from Australia Was getting scones and butter when a lovely lady called Sue came and explained that if we had the afternoon tea which was coffee scones with cream and jam it was better value We took her advice and it was really delicious and excellent value thankyou Sue
