Lotte on the edge in Sheffield

I'd give this place a miss. We went for breakfast, though they only do toasties and bagels. We ordered two coffees to start. One came. We waited in vain for the second and watched some later customers being served instead. When we asked why they hadn't brought our second, the owner rather than apologising, just got angry and told us abruptly to get out. His manner was extremely aggressive. We were gobsmacked. Fortunately there are better cafes in the neighbourhood. Not really worth upsetting your day for!!

My toasted sandwich was the best ever, the Bakewell slice also. All home made and delicious Lovely friendly helpful staff they couldn’t do enough for us. Looks quite new so hope they will personalise the interior more, plants, music , photos? Perhaps.

The cafe is friendly enough. Judging by the online photos the food may have been better in days gone by than today, apart from the cakes - which looked seriously wonderful. However, none of that is the reason we won’t be going back again. I have just seen the most ignorant display of total lack of hygiene I’ve seen for a while. As it happened all the time I was eating, I felt rather sick by the time Id finished, in fact I didnt!. As the cafe had filled up by the time we ordered and is tiny, I did not want to say anything in earshot of others, but basically, I have to ask what kind of training staff get around very basic hygiene? When you see a member of staff lean under a table and give a dog who has come in wet from rain and is still steaming, a good ol' scratch n stroke round the chest, nose and ears, then blatantly NOT wash her hand/s, before raising it to her own face, then scratch and prod round her own nose, stick a finger up it, put her fingers - the same one with dog all under her fingernails - in her mouth and bite a bit of nail, run her fingers round her face again, stroke another customer's little dog, then use the till screen (which looked like it hadn’t had a wipe down for a while, given the print marks,) then serve some food, prepare some more food, handle cutlery... I’m not being funny but both myself and my partner were totally grossed out. I’m sorry ladies, but that was YUKKK! Poor staff awareness, poor practice, uncommented on or picked up by the owner. Won’t be back!

So I went to check out Lotte on the edge this morning, and I left totally satisfied and with a huge smile on my face. I was greeted with happy faces and a lovely hello upon entry..... then served the most amazing club sandwich brimming griiled chicken, juicy cherry tomatoes, mashed advocado and all the trimmings.....the kettle chips on the side just topped off what was one of the most delicious sandwiches i've ever had !!!! Keep up the great work guys....i'll be right back xxx

Visited months ago before covid and very impressed. Visited again today and i have to say if You want great flat white and the most delicious Lemon and Poppy cake then do not go anywhere else! Indeed all the food was lovely and the lady who served me whilst under pressure took it all in her stride. Thanks Lotte.

Moved to Sheffield about 6 weeks ago and as part of my 'exploration' walks I stumbled upon this little tinker, and I'm so glad I did, a really nice little place, not going to use the word 'cool', not because this place isn't 'cool' it's just I think I'm a bit too old to use the word 'cool' and it retains its meaning of being 'cool' (if you know what I mean!!). Anyway I don't think that I've got a bad word to say about my visit today, very pleasant service staff, very nice coffee (albeit they'd run out of oat milk, but had a range of other non-dairy for me to choose from - landed on Pea-milk, which was good), food was good, and the pricing was fair......so in a nutshell, I will be returning....and all I can say is 'Lotte on the edge' keep up the good work

They are clearly trying to make the best out of the lockdown situation, offering food, drink and basic supplies on a take away basis. Staff are friendly and helpful and service quick. I've had a couple of coffees from here recently and they have been really good. Really quirky decor and ambiance and you can imagine when allowed to open properly to sit in visitors, it would be a great place to hang out.

This is a hidden gem in Nether Edge that is friendly, warm on a winters day while unquestionably very cool as a destination for coffee and snacks. The coffee is very good and menu interesting and imaginative indeed. Well worth calling by....and lots of people do so it can get quite busy.

Good place to go for a bacon butty and mug of tea and read the paper on a Sunday morning. Friendly service and they cook the bacon as you want (I like mine crisp!) and serve with real (not tinned) tomatoes. Has a nice outside eating area but no cover or heaters so weather dependent. Easy on street parking. Only downside is that inside is small with limited seat space.

Oh my, you know when you visit somewhere that's just so different and lovely, opening the door we knew this was Lotte's. Eclectic, stripped back, reuse, recycle, funky, quirky, delicious,vegan, veggie, meat lover....flat White to die for! This pace really dos have a feel as you can see it did impress, so unpretentious but just humbly has it! Thanks for a great brunch, we will be back.

Lovely friendly neighbourhood cafe with nice chilled out vibe. Coffee is excellent and there's a decent food selection.

This is a gem of a place. Lovely food and drinks and friendly staff. I had a vegetarian special with poached eggs, spicy avocado on rye and halloumi and peppers but was so tempted by the leek and potato soup that I bought some to take home. My husband had porridge...made with quinoa...which looked so delicious I took a photo.

Went on a sunny Tuesday morning for the first time to this gem of a cafe. Yoga going on outside so headed in and found a unique feel about the place. We had a lovely breakfast,coffee was superb and will be back again for sure. Prices pretty fair and quality superb. Look forward to trying it later in the day when the booze gets broken out!

Hired out Lotte on the edge for my 30th birthday! They served fantastic cocktails and amazing tapas food! There was plenty of food for everyone and it was all reasonably priced! Would highly recommend it for any parties you may be having in the future!...

I'm becoming a regular at this wonderful cafe in Nether Edge, Sheffield. Wonder coffee, awesome food options and really friendly staff. They have a licence so can serve alcohol too. A nice glass of wine whilst sat out on the wooden decking watching the world...
