Popped in for a nice coffee after a long walk, and to sit in the sun in the Minster grounds, lovely service and really nice coffee, plus we were tempted by their amazing cakes!

If you want some genuine small bakery bread, this is the place to go. It is not cheap, but you will never beat this for taste.

Found after seeing an advert. A working bakery in wonderful Dorset countryside. Welcoming, and mustn’t forget - really tasty fresh bread - yummy.

Visit this great craft bakery for fresh reasonably priced organic and sourdough bread. Friendly staff or honesty box to pay, unpretentious and pleasant setting. Loved the bread and no other nonsense. Concentrating clearly n what they do best!

We called into this cafe on 2 March for coffee and cake but ended up only having coffee as they only had flapjacks left in the shop. Of course they were pleased to be sold out but we were disappointed as we really didn't want flapjacks. This cafe and bakers shop is situated opposite the Minister in a rather ancient and crooked looking building which has so much character. Half the premises is a shop and the other half a cafe but they do have extra seating upstairs. A lot of the original features of the building have been retained including the original stone floor which looks great but is a bit uneven and makes the tables a bit wobbly. We ordered two coffees cost £5.40 and they were good if a bit pricey. It did seem to take a long time for the drinks to arrive even though the place was only half full but the coffee tasted good when it came. Nice place but the moral of the story is go early if you want cake as they sell out!

Wandering around Wimborne, we stopped for a cuppa - real tea in a huge teapot. There was a bit of a crisis with the shop's computers, which meant the till didn't work. The manageress was extremely apologetic, but needn't have said anything as you wouldn't have known there was a problem! We look forward to sampling the food on our next visit, which looked lovely.

We attempted to eat lunch at this cafe on a Friday in July when Wimborne as a whole was very busy. Incidentally it is in the heart of Wimborne town and not in the village of Long Crichel some miles distant which is where the bakery that produces the bread for the cafe is situated. Surprisingly there was only one occupied table and these were obviously guests at an imminent wedding at the Minster that sits opposite the premises. We sat down only to find that there were no menus on tables. I approached the counter to be told they didn't provide any and we had to look at the board which was at the end of the busy bakery counter and not the easiest to access or view. As one of our party struggles to walk without aid I found myself walking backwards and forwards recounting what was available. This was not made easy by the fact that most of the fillings I had never heard of nor could pronounce. It seems I must lead a sheltered culinary life!! The conclusion was quickly reached by us all that as we hadn't got a clue what to choose due to not knowing what anything was we would give up and move on elsewhere. We were glad we did as you will see from my review of the Cloisters.

went for lunch here last week. as neither my husband or i like cheese our choice was limited. i asked for a tomato and bacon toasted sandwich but was told sorry. the chef made all the sanwiches early and has left so all contain cheese. our only option was 2 vegetarian pasties. pleasant but expensive. the scones by the way are the smallest i have ever seen. these cost next to nothing to make so using the next size cutter would be a vast improvement. the chocolate brownies were very nice. ok but wouldnt make an effort to go here. could be much better with a change of menu. one point it would be nice to have the prices on the table menu and on a board without having to peer across the counter in front of the assistant .

Lunch at its best. Well thought out, beautifully executed dishes. We had tomato soup and a ploughmans, two dishes that might have been very ordinary but were in fact sublime. I'm surprised at the reviewer that was indignant at having to pay a surcharge for eating in rather than taking it away - this is pretty standard unless you are in Mac D's. Likewise really with the price; for the quality I thought it was exceptional value. If you'd rather save a pound and have soup out of a tin somewhere then you're stupid, but there are plenty of places that will cater to you. I'm happy that this isn't one of them.

This nice little bakery shop is divided into two with a small cafe to the right of the bakery counter. I called in here for tea and cake with a friend in the summer of 2011. I had bought bread here before and also called into Long Crichel. My expectations were high and I already knew that it would be quite expensive. Salads and light lunches are tasty and fresh. The decor is up to date and the retained stone flooring is lovely... but you can't eat it, no matter how hungry you get! Suffice to say, after ordering tea for 2 and 1 cake and 1 scone...we were kept waiting for a VERY long time. One very efficient waitress 'helped' by two 'charming', male and female students. First we were were brought a cheese scone, with jam and cream, and had to explain in words of few syllables to the young female that it wasn't right, though she doubted us. More time passed. Male 'chef' appeared to apologise, and to say that they had run out of plain scones. So we asked for a pastry from their bread counter. This did arrive sooner than the initial order, fortunately! Hungry and envious eyebrows were raised by the other clientele.... Having spent too long waiting for our order, we hungrily devoured our snack and i decided not to risk waiting for the bill , but to walk over and chase it up from the downstairs 'kitchenette'. There i was charged and extra £1.00. This was to cover the cost of taking the pastry off the bakery shelf, putting it on a plate and serving it to me at our table only 2 metres away.. !!!!!!!! need i say more. I did express my shock to the chef, who was flitting about trying to salvage what pride he could from the increasingly disgruntled customers....i haven't been back yet to see if he took my advice. Lordy lordy! This is Wimborne not Chelsea! get real guys... if you value your jobs! Its sad, as there is lots of competition in this lovely town. Quality food and surroundings are not much use, if the service doesn't match and the management choose to price so unrealistically. I'd rather keep you, and lose one of the chains!

My partner and I stopped in here one rainy afternoon. I was drawn to the place as I noticed that it sells Monmouth Coffee so I expected the quality of what was on offer to be high. When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly lady who recommended a cream tea which we both went for - I thought it was a snip at £4 each considering it came with organic clotted cream, two warmed organic scones each, a choice of three jams and a huge pot of tea. The bread on the counter looked as though it was excellent quality and I think they are well within their rights to charge the prices that they do, as you're paying for superior quality food and drink. You can hardly call this place a tourist trap just because it's opposite the Minster and it's more expensive than Greggs. There are plenty of other places to go if you don't want to pay as much. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming and we'll definitely be back again.

We went for a late breakfast/early lunch and were stunned by the very high prices so settled for just tea and ate elsewhere. It's location just opposite the Minster presumably means it gets trade from gullible first time visitors, like us, as I can't believe that any locals or anyone that's been before would use this cafe. If it was particularly comfortable and welcoming and in Knightsbridge I could just about understand the prices they charge but for a basic cafe, with relatively cramped and uncomfortable seating and tables, it just isn't worth visiting in my opinion.

Now I have not been to the actual bakery but I have been to their restaurant/teashop in Wimborne town centre, opposite the Minster. A great location, with a good selction of their baked goods and a few other locally produced products including Piddle beer ( very nice). I would recommend popping in if you are nearby. Prices seemed reasonable and the person that served us was very welcoming.

I actually live in the village and have been a customer almost since the bakery opened, it is in a old converted stable!Wood fired ovens produce a excellent tasting bread, all foods are organic and many specialist breads are baked here.Divine cakes for the sweet toothed, and yes tables are provided in the warmer months, so get a cake and some fresh coffee here.

Found this place just by chance as I was hiking around the area, saw their sign. What an incredible bakery in a small village!! I could have eaten everything. Just wish they had tables to sit at-I think they do in the summer (I was there in March.)

Cantina is now under the new management of Janine, and she is providing a larger range of delicious breakfasts and lunches in this charming and well run cafe. There is outside seating if you prefer and a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

The kids love to hit the playground before heading out for a walk across the heath. The café is worth a visit. Plenty of parking (pay on exit). Loos. Recommended.
