Lone Star Barbecue in Thanet

Came here to say Sunday not planned. Just walked in from celebrating birthday on the beach! There was a live singer who was great and we decided to have food! And it was great we had pizza and sides and wow it was incredible!! Definitely recommend ♥️♥️

Amazing band playing and the owner Rita was very welcoming and dishing the most delicious curry for an amazing price.

Dropped in by chance last Friday evening - and what a find! A great bar with great atmosphere. An amazing DJ kept the party going late into the night - what a time we had. So good we went back on Saturday, and were greeted back as friends by everyone - and we stayed til very late parting again. Great times!

Thieves! Would never give my money to a company like this. Honestly don’t know how they are running after ripping off locals and thieving their kitchen equipment

Such a lovely gem to find if you like honest great fun with great service this is the place to go. Staff are amazing so is the owner.Variety of food to choose from highly recommend the Italian

The drinks are expensive as others have posted. Also the excellent food reviews on here are misleading as are for previous traders (Lonestar and Pizza Lab) who are no longer trading at the premises! Don’t expect the same quality as the previous food establishments!!

Amazing place with a range of places to eat from!! Popped down for a quick bite to eat and ended up spending the whole day as it was so lovely! Right along the beach and in a sunny spot so perfect for spending a few hours. Would really recommend.

Great place for a beer a cocktail, snacks, or some lunch or dinner. Really friendly, always someone fun to talk to.

Nothing like what it used to be, owners off her nut aswell. Got to be on something as she just pesters about how good this is and how good that is. Made it uncomfortable so we left. Hopefully the bbq place that use to be there will open up somewhere else as its the only reason we visted since the old owner who was awesome run the place.

This place is NOT at all like the old Belgian Bar. We came here last year to try it out as was a big fan of when Andy has the bar. The place has completely lost the vibe it used to have and there’s no soul in the place anymore. The new owner is loud and over bearing, doesn’t let you enjoy yourself in peace without promoting herself, her food and interrupts you constantly to make the conversation about her. We didn’t want to eat but all she kept doing was going on about how amazing she is at cooking. Sure she’s on drugs or something?! Everything was really expensive too! Doesn’t she realise she’s opposite Wetherspoons?

Seriously the best food in the south east and at really reasonable prices. That barbecue flavour and sauce is 10/10, the smash burgers are fantastic. And all so freshly cooked. Sweet Mary mother of God.

Hands down the best BBQ I've eaten if you haven't tried it I highly recommend it. Truly amazing food smoked to perfection whilst staying juicy and full of flavour.

Not just any chips! These are Lone Star Chips! Explosions of Flavour in the mouth. So worth a visit… Delicious

Me and my partner have been to all the smoke houses in thanet and this is by far the best everything's unique own style sauces that you won't get anywhere else!!! We got a 2 person platter it could have fed 4 adults 2 kids even the dog got to try a bit and kept going back to he's bowl to see if there was more!!

Best brisket I’ve tried outside of Texas, ribs were superb too! BBQ enthusiasts, this is the spot!!! Some cool American memorabilia dotted around the seating area which is a nice touch. Will be visiting frequently 😂👍🏽

Really tasty food here and excellent value. Yummy ribs and coleslaw. Freshly baked cornbread and beans. Delicious. And the atmosphere of the market was great too!

If you're a proper foodie you will not be disappointed

This is legit BBQ. I would have to say the best I've had in the UK since moving here in 2016. The right amount of smoke and the meat still clung to the bone but came off easy. The best ribs are those that do this, if they fall off the bone they aren't done right. They were the perfect ration of juice and tender, with each mouthfull melting against your tastebads. The seasoned fries are a whole other level - These are not ordinary fries. The are seasoned with bacon butter with just the tinyest hint of sugar. While the ribs we outstanding they paled in comparison to the fries. You might wait a bit for your food, just get a table outside on the pavement, have some drinks and do some people watching and take in the fresh sea air.

Best brisket outside of Texas! I'm a native Texan and after 5 years living in the UK, this is the first place that really hits the spot. Definitely recommend going for the large brisket and trying both bbq sauces. You might be overwhelmed by the mountain of chips that come alongside, but their very unique and tasty seasoning allowed me to polish off the lot of them.

Such a gem of a place food was so lush and Lewis the main man busting out orders left right and centre, we didn't have to wait that long at all, nice music in background everyone munching away definitely recommend, put smiles on everyone's faces with those cooking skills and postive vibes😃

This place has amazing food - the brisket was super tender and the seasoned chips are unreal. You have to make this a must visit if you come to Ramsgate.

A friend of ours told of this gem, we placed our order and it was delivered to Birchington still hot. The food was amazing great flavours! we had the brisket loaded fries and the wings + thighs. The chicken melted in your mouth and it was so full of flavour we couldn’t believe it was a takeaway. Can’t wait to order again already. Highly recommend!

Mouth watering selections of meat with luscious sides in a relaxed and welcoming dining area. All you can wish for a excellent dining out experience.

Epic. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it doesn’t disappoint. Waited to try it a second time before reviewing and my opinion has not changed. The ribs are smoked to perfection and the pulled pork was tender and not greasy at all. I think the brisket needs a little work but still enjoyed it. We are lucky to have this place in Ramsgate. AMAZING!! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the brisket meal and a beef quarter pounder with chips. Both meals were very tasty, the brisket was so tender and cooked to perfection and the burger was excellent, full of flavour and really good quality and quantity. We also had a side order of pulled pork, will definitely be having more of that it's got to be the best I've ever had, also had the slaw and cowboy beans. Every dish was so good we can't wait to come back and try the other dishes on the menu. I would definitely recommend eating here you won't be disappointed.

No silly frills no bespoke garnish just really good bbq ,, authentic Smokey top quality bbq food 10/10

The only downside with this place is it’ll soon be inundated and I may struggle to get my orders in. The food is categorically the best bbq food I’ve had outside of Texas. The quality and flavours are superb and the portion sizes are extremely generous. The one person platter dwarfs most sharing platters. It’s fantastic to have a local, high quality, bbq place

Awesome! Having eaten at several authentic smokehouse restaurants in North America, this is as authentic as you’re going to get it. Friendly service, quick delivery, great ‘slaw and pickles. Meat very tender so it can be cut by the edge of a fork, as well as wonderful ribs and chicken. Absolutely superb. Will be ordering again!

Ordered a Sharing platter for two, portions were incredible plenty for two enough for three tasted amazing will definitely be ordering again.
