London Woolwich Beefeater in Greenwich

Went in got ignored at the bar, although there was a Bar person. We will call you when we are ready. Also two couples go shown to their tables as soon as they walked in. We were told we are BUSY. Only 10-15 people in the whole place. Our table was booked for 6 people. They never showed us to the table, just pointed to it. Then our other 4 guests turned up, they were not shown to the table. When all seated, the so called waitress went to the other tables to get their orders. Ignored again. After a few minutes we walked out in absolute disgust. We went to Nando.

I have now been to eat here twice. Both times our server has been the same, a lovely lady called Shannon. Very polite, helpful and attentive. The 1st time my steak was very nice and how I asked for it to be done. The 2nd time I had to send it back as it wasn’t well done as asked. However other issues have been noticed. I got a parking ticket in a disabled pay with badge displayed as I wasn’t aware that it wasn’t part of the hotel/restaurant. ( staff should be making this clear on arrival ) The manager of the restaurant was very rude and just said you should have bought a ticket. She was very unhelpful and showed no empathy at all, didn’t even make eye contact. Lastly I find it very unprofessional to see chefs eating in the open kitchen in-front of paying customers. I recommend this place to the friend with me and felt awful after the food was not good this time and the poor service of management.

All staff were lovely tonight :) best meal we’ve had here in ages, the kids really enjoyed themselves 🤗 Steven was great, very down to earth and friendly. Lovely chefs on tonight. And there was a waitress (a lady) she was super kind! Offering the children crayons and paper to pass time.

Sad and run down. Carpet so old it's ripped and taped. Food meh. Breakfast overcooked. False advertising on drink prices (2 for £12, nope!). Convenience is the only good reason to eat here.

My son had always wanted to eat at beefeater. He specifically chose it for his 7th birthday. We walked in after paying for parking. The waiter couldn’t find us a table suitable for 4 people, he told us to leave because the manager said so. My jaw dropped! I had never being walked out of a restaurant not on my son’s special day. His excitement for beefeater is certainly not the same!! Customer service is poor. We left there sad. I expect the manager to be a little child-friendly and welcoming.

I am not a fan of vegan but the burger was spot on

The food was amazing. It came out on time and tasted great. The service was wonderful. I had a very kind and sweet server his name was Rafiq kept on the drinks check up on us.

Staying at the Premier Inn and decided to have dinner at this Beefeaters on site. Exceeded expectations! Fish and chips very tasty and perfectly cooked with reasonable portions. It was dinner time on a Saturday but there was no wait despite the restaurant seeming quite busy. All staff were very friendly too.

Love it food amazing had roast today yum. Great staff

Enjoyed a plate of 74 steak sampler. All cooked nicely medium rare to order. Served with peas grilled tomato and a mushroom and some onion rings. Service was nicely done and served a nice pint.

Quiet for a Saturday, but we decided to try beefeater for a birthday meal for 2 - it was amazing!!! You can tell a good chef/s with how well they cook steak. It was perfection for both of us, and our request for Blue and medium were both accomplished! The grill needs a large mushroom! Other than that, highly recommended, will defo be back, lovely quality food! 👌

We got a table, with not much wait. The service was good. We ordered drinks and meals. Lots to choose from. Food was good. Plating was alright. The place itself was very dirty. Lots of litter on the floor . Toilets were not very clean and also the smell lingered Into the restaurant.

Food is good. Waiter was kind, friendly & welcoming. The person at reception is absolutely the opposite, not welcoming and helpful. He said we can only sit if table is booked, didn’t bother to check if there’s any availability while the restaurant was 70% empty. We stepped back, booked online in a minute & we got a table instantly. We couldn’t choose any table as they told this & that is booked. Spent an hour in the restaurant & no one came to those tables where we tried to sit. Very disappointed, will never come again.

Not good customer service, not good table service. I am just disappointed because we want to give a dinner to surprise a friend but just a pour customer service, we were 5 people, then we ask the roll table, he said not possible because that table is for 8, but the restaurant was tidy, only 2 table with people and they didn't give us the table because he was sitting there with the chef fron the kitchen, I just hate that experience. I never comeback

It's slightly away from Woolwich town centre so it's fairly quiet inside but it means that you can sit for a while without feeling rushed. The service was also efficient and friendly. I ordered the sirloin steak, medium rare with chips, and added the peppercorn sauce for an additional price. The steak was more medium/well done, and without the sauce, it lacked any flavour and seemed a bit dry. For dessert, I ordered the crumble with ice cream, which was fine but nothing special. Overall, I felt that the food was very mediocre and not very good value for money. However, it is a nice place to sit and enjoy the company of friends.

Depending what day ya go, I prefer chef becks cooking

Only 2 members of staff on duty to serve at 100 people on a Sunday morning!One member of staff was outright rude whilst the other was pleasant and made the best of a bad situation..Food,huice,milk, kept running out,crockery was not available,coffee machine kept messing up.And of course you paid before service so you didn't have a choice but to stay.Totally ruined a family get together.This is not the quality of beefeater I’ve known and enjoyed over the years.

Decent food, let down by poor service. Took forever to get our food, and the free additions to our meal took so long that we ended up cancelling it and paying the bill. Would advise that when you are busy, you let patrons know this before they are seated

Poped in for lunch , Thursday 3pm . The restaurant was completely empty . Was seated quickly , with good view of grill . We had medium steak with salad and grilled gammon with fries , food arrived quickly and was just what we ordered . Deserts were a little slower , once made , was left on the pass while the staff chatted loudly . Overall a good experience , the food was good and prices average for this type of restaurant.

The restaurant was very quite only 9 customers, service was very slow my roast lamb dinner was only tepid, another table of four were disatisfied they sent three meals back because they were cold. It was very cold in the restaurant. It wasn't hot but the air con was pumping outsold air you can't say its because of covid.

The food was very good. I had the roast and everything was cooked well. Staff were very friendly and we were able to sit between courses without being rushed.

The food was shocking, deep fired and over cooked all we could taste was grease and burnt charcoal. We had calamari for starters - I have never seen anything like it it's was not even edible. The floor looked like it needed a good hoover. Will not be returning. Very unprofessional staff, shouting at eachother across the restaurant whilst your trying to eat...a waste if £55!!!

We didn't feel welcomed into the restaurant. Ordered our food but drink order wasn't taken. We waited for almost 40 minutes for our food, then came our food but it was very try and chewy. I asked for bill but non of the Waiters tried to call our attention to the Dessert for the kids. We were also given water because we didn't feel happy buying drinks. The water was brought to our table but the glass got a lip stain on it. Honestly I haven't been treated like this in a restaurant before. I felt upset that I had to pay and left.

Lovely small beefeater. Under the Premier inn. Food was wonderful. Steaks at the heart but have a lot of other dishes to choose from as well. Wonderful cheerful staff

No one to greet us at 9.45am and when she appeared from the back our money was taken and found one clean table as the rest were either full of used plates or crumbs. We thought that the reason why there were no cold drinks and the lack of glasses was because she was on her own…wrong. The alarm went off for the oven and the sole people eventually appeared again to remove the burnt food. Then another person came out and started chatting to what came across as another member of staff off duty with possibly her son with his arm in plaster. A third member of staff came out and if they weren’t talking to this same person then they were checking their watches possibly looking forward to their next break. The food was never replenished and what was there was curled up and cold. As the time approached 10.30 all the food and drink that the three of them fancied was consumed in sight of their guests, all of the food that was remaining on the hot plate was binned. They were totally oblivious to the fact that other people including ourselves were watching what they were doing or more to the point, not doing. We explained our experience to the hotel staff on our way out and told her we wouldn’t be returning.

Food was excellent, but the chef was very rude and shouting and swearing so we could all hear and was body shaming the waitress. Told the manager and he didn't do anything about the situation. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR!

Went here for a quick bite to eat and fortunately it was reasonably empty. Despite this it took 45 minutes from ordering for our food to arrive, and when it did it left a bit to be desired. Needless to say we won't give beefeater any more visits. Staff were friendly, I think the taught processes are.probabpy just very inefficient

The wings are nice though. Horrible steak, full of charcoal and can’t taste the bee. I doubt anyone could swallow. Burgers are so dry.

Better late than never...I came here in January with my family, my son had been bugging me about coming to Beefeater for the longest time, so we decided to come here for his birthday meal (he's only 7, don't come at me in the comments please lol) The waiter (Flavius) was very attentive and polite...catered to our every need and was very patient in waiting for us to decide what to eat. We liked the food, came out quicker that I had expected and the starters we had were lovely, wish I had ordered more. It was quite busy that night, but we didn't mind as it was a nice atmosphere. Would visit again.

Excellent food and superb service from the staff. Restaurant is a little tired and maybe needs a refurb but other than that couldn’t fault. Been a few times now and always very good

£19 for this...A half tomato, an overgrilled mushroom and a very well done steak when I asked for a medium well... This place has potential but the people who own it clearly don't give a s%!t about their business.

The waiter Jordan should be removed from the job or get service training as he showed problems with his hearing and could not take the orders properly and we were charged for drinks / meals we did not order . However the garden in the back is very beautiful and I would recommend booking it for events .

Sorry to say that I can only judge from the breakfast and that was poor. Not enough staff. Everything dirty and you had to wait for food as all Bowls were empty. Clearly just a staff problem.

It was very quiet, but service was incredibly slow! Not just for the main course, where they might have been cooking chips, but for desserts as well.

No car park.. Groupon options won't surprise you. Service is good!

The food was overpriced and uninspiring, and aside from one attentive waitress, the staff seemed disengaged. Despite the less-than-ideal location, improving service could draw more customers, especially with a superior restaurant nearby.

Steak was well cooked but they did not offer a steak knife which would have helped to cut it. You have to go up to the counter to pay but otherwise the steak was well cooked but a little more seasoning would have made it perfect. Salad had a nice dressing but way too many tomatoes and cucumbers for my liking but if you like that sort of thing its perfect

Went for a Sunday roast, the food is okay although the potatoes were burnt. Service is terrible, staff are inattentive even when it is not busy. Manager is incredibly rude and seems in a permanent bad mood, which affects the overall atmosphere of the place. Won't be returning.

The sunday roast is so good here! Absolutely delicious like seriously never had a roast so good chefs are top tier on Sunday! They seems understaffed on the floor. But service is ok. Not much of an atmosphere but we enjoy going there as a family. They have toilets and changing facilities for kids. They have a decent kids menu.

It was decent food but a little bit priced. Service, it was ok, but we waited a long time for our food and drinks No atmosphere at all Sunday evening. Only four people in including the staff lol

Very deceiving menu do remember to ask the total price of the steaks as we ordered 2x sirloin steak meals and ended up paying more than we thought

Went there today (25/22/23) for Christmas lunch. Cannot fault the service hardly any waiting between courses. Staff were attentive and meal was served piping hot. We went last year for Christmas which nice but this a vast improvement . Highly recommended.

The food was mediocre. The staff were rude! The manager in particular was rude - rolling his eyes when my friend didn't know the cost of the dishes she ordered, like that was her job. Also gave me attitude when I asked for items missing off my plate - blaming me saying I should have asked for them, when actually the person taking my order didn't properly discuss the options with me, for me to know to ask. They seemed maybe short staffed and stressed, but they were taking the stress out on customers and creating an unpleasant atmosphere. Terrible experience. I won't ever be eating there again.

Half of the menus was unavailable due to delivery issues. The food that did come was over cooked and dry. The lady who served us at the start was very understanding and extremely professional in a different situation. The male waiter who cleared the plates had an awful attitude and was very rude.

The big issue with the bar and restaurant is so easily remedied…the door between hotel and bar area has no dampener on it….it’s impossible to enjoy your time in that area due to a constant (very loud) banging of that door…it’s disgraceful that no one has tried to sort it out…the staff seem oblivious to it…probably got immune to it….shocking stuff.

Nicely greeted and offered options of choosing tables. Extremely professional Romanian waiter. Discussed food options and made suggestions tailored to our ordering intentions. Suggested us to review if we liked the experience hence this review. Food met the expectations (nothing left on my plate). Plating exceeded the expectations.

Visited the restaurant on two consecutive evenings because this restaurant appeared to be the best place to eat on our trip to Woolwich. On the first evening Flavius and his only other member of staff fitted us in for a meal when we turned up without a reservation and they were shirt staffed. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and could not have done more to make our evening any better. The food, drink and general atmosphere was excellent. Because of this we reserved a table for our second evening in Woolwich and Flavius welcomed us in when we arrived and remembered what we ate and drank the previous evening. Both meals/service were excellent and I strongly recommend this restaurant if visiting Woolwich.

We came in for some lunch, very busy but a good atmosphere, the staff were friendly and very attentive. The food came out quickly and was very hot which we were happy with, will definitely come back!

Awful attitude from the member of staff who first greeted us upon arrival. We were told that if we didn't have a booking then we could not be seated. When I pointed out there were plenty of empty tables (without reserved signs) her immediate response was to go into full teenager mode and say "oh so I will just get my manager". It wasn't the fact that she wanted to get a manager involved, more her attitude, suggesting I had just asked an unacceptable question. The manager came over and explained that the hotel above had a gas leak and that she had been instructed to not allow walk ins incase hotel guests needed somewhere to eat. Whilst I don't agree with that approach, I would have at least been okay with the explanation if the first person that greeted us had explained it instead of giving us petulant attitude. I am a local resident and I will strongly consider never giving this restaurant my custom in the future and will never recommend them to anyone else. Such a shame that I didn't even get to try any of their menu.

Today I had a very amazing lunch. The chef Vicky was a wonderful cook. I had the most delicious meal I have ever had. There was a nice atmosphere and service was excellent

No reservation notice on the table. So we sat. Waitress Kate coming without even saying hello, asking us to leave as the table is reserved for someone else. If you want your business running smoothly make sure hiring right person! Such a rude attitude and bad experience!

Restaurant was basically empty, ordered, and waited over an hour for our meal. Everything was overcooked & didn't look good. The men's toilets are disgusting and smell badly... No one checked on us either... Never again

We went for Sunday Roast. Staff were friendly, asked about allergies, and checked in with us. Food arrived quickly. Potatoes were burnt with half inedible, Yorkshires were frozen in the centre (we mentioned to staff and they replaced, but the replacements were frozen in the centre too). And the meat wasn't the best.

Pretty good. Food is reasonable, good service. Not the biggest menu though. Great kids menu, 3 course for 5.99. It's not exactly cheap but I guess it's reasonable for what you get.

Wow the team leader and the staff that work here take so much from the rude customers and the table service is amazing definitely recommend the staff that are working today are amazing 2 women make sure they are looked after for there great effort great employees

The only reason I’m not giving 4 stars is because it has annoying parking pay by app which annoys me to work out how to do it and not free parking on a Sunday even 😪 (I hate paying for parking anywhere!) the food was good the customer was good/very good but it was quiet in there at the time.

Hours posted are not what they actually do. Often close early. Kitchen staff (dinner one) throws a fit and is rude if they screw your basic order up, missing items etc. The breakfast cook is really good. Very nice and happy to help. The food is overall decent, what you'd expect from a chain attached to a hotel. If you're there on a weekend, be prepared to battle crowds for breakfast as the local congregation all come to eat piling plates and leaving little for other guests. Weekdays/Sat normally don't have this issue.

Had a breakfast here it was all you can eat and the food was very good.. staff were amazing. Came here tonight for a few cocktails 2 for £10 great deal the young lady serving was amazing can not remember here name but I did speak to her manager to tell her how amazing she was

Convenient, not too busy. You won't always get what you order. The ribeye steak was good, but the garlic king prawns numbered just 2 and were very rubbery.

We visited as a large family group. We had a lovely time which we can entirely credit to Ellis, a wonderful person. who worked incredibly hard to make sure we had an enjoyable evening. She was in a difficult position, with a food delivery having failed to arrive and a lack of staff, but she did an astounding job of not letting that impact our evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, we were served quickly and well looked after throughout our meal. Ellis is the kind of person everyone should try and hire. Her manner was impeccable, her professionalism without fault, and her kind, friendly nature really added to the atmosphere and the quality of our experience. If Ellis' boss is reading this, you have an absolute star of a person on your team. I'd hire her in a heartbeat.

After reading the reviews we went with rather low expectations. Despite the slow service we were pleasantly surprised by how friendly they were. We all ordered the Flame Grill Combo which was decent however again it took a very long time to arrive. If we visit again, we would probably go for the grilled food again as we did enjoy it.

Decided to have breakfast and immediately the smell of old carpet was strong and outdated chairs and smelly tables. The male waiters were not welcoming and proceeded to the till and demanded payment without any explanation Once paid many food items were low such as eggs and beans and the chef was too busy chatting away with other staff members. The oven was full of grease and dirt and lots of the food displayed lacked in taste and drippings all over from the food onto the surfaces. The food inspection should take place and check for hygiene levels Also, lots of items that are vegetarian are mixed with meat products and the same utensils are used by customers when putting food on their plates and touching meat products. This place should review its set-up and have a major refit as I am sure they are making money to re-invest back into the restaurant The female waitress was rude I think her name was Louise

The food was fantastic, and the staff friendly and helpful. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal and would go again if we were in the area again. The only negative (which had no effect on our enjoyment) is that the furnature and floors could do with some TLC.

Went on a weekday evening at 5pm. It was almost empty - maybe about 8 other diners. Staff were very friendly so no issue there. Restaurant was clean although my other half felt it was a bit tired. I didn't, but it did remind me of a Wetherspoon's for some reason. Service was incredibly slow and we were never checked on. This could be forgiven if it were busy but it really wasn't. I don't know if our waiter was new, he seemed nervous and made mistakes. We're not harsh, it's okay if someone is new but no one seemed to be checking over him. Staff were hard to find when we needed them. Some of the food not really hot, and half of mine was missing, I had to ask where it was. You can see in my pictures that the vegan cheese and vegan bacon are missing. But the food itself quite nice - I had plant based burger and chips and cauliflower wings for the starter, which was nice but very bland - especially as they hadn't bothered to bring any sauce as there should have been. The other half had something like potato skins (not nice, and again, no sauce) and spinach cannelloni (good value). We shared apple pie and ice cream, which was fair. We got their evening deal - which the waiter didn't tell us about but I'd seen online in preparation of the visit (being veggie, I like to be prepared!). I couldn't eat all mine and they were good about me taking it away. Good range to choose from if you're vegetarian, which I was surprised about in a Beefeater. There's a bit of a lack places to eat around this area without going into the general high street area (which was inconvenient for us on this occasion).

The manager, Vicky is literally the most amazing lady ever!!! We go as regular as we can and always have the most amazing food and service x

Service was slow, but I understand because the place was full. They were accommodating and apologetic about the slow service. I honestly did not mind all because it's the first time it happened, and I have been there loads of times and always received good service. Their new menu is super 👌

Terrible service,we were booked for 20:00 ,after 20 minutes wait we were seated and then left till 20:45 with no table service. After I complained we were able to order our drinks and food.Its now 21:20 still no sign of food. We have now given up and left the restaurant.

Apparently you can't swear in a conversation with yourself and another person in your party without being accused of swearing at staff I suggest you teach your staff that not everything said at the table is directed at them, then again after the appalling way we were treated we won't be back.

I am a regular customer at Woolwich Beefeater. Decided to go for breakfast this morning, when we sat down noticed the buffet well laid out as usual. While eating some cereal I noticed two African families and after they went up to the buffet they totally anialated it, there was literally nothing left, for anyone else. There was a table waiting for breakfast and the chef apologised and said more food was on the way, so no sooner had she topped up the buffet one of the African families went back up to the buffet and the chef said sorry can that table come up and get some breakfast first as they have been waiting and this African guy started banging on the hot plate demanding more food and was extremely rude to the chef. Anyway after everything sorted itself out this African guy kept sending his kids up to the hot plate first they emptied the tray of tomatoes, minutes later he sent his kids up and they took all the sausages. I know it is an all you can eat buffet, but I thought you are emptying the hot plate because you know the chef will have to cook more food. But when they left the amount of wasted food they took but did not eat was ridiculous especially given the current financial situation the country is in and the amount of families that can't afford to eat. Absolutely ridiculous and respect to the staff for attempting to make sure other customers managed to get a cooked breakfast. Beefeater that African family may have paid £9.99 for all you can eat breakfasts but they probably wasted three times that amount in food that was left on there table, maybe your breakfasts need reviewed. I am happy to pay £9.99 for one of each item. Keep up the good work Beefeater look forward to my next visit soon. Ian

Avoid. Without doubt one of the worst dining experiences I've had, or at least near dining experiences I've had. Waitress was rude when informing her I'd booked by phone. She said the system had not updated yet. Brilliant but not my fault. Waited an hour just to place an order. Had not even been asked for a drinks order. Then after waiting a further 30 minutes was told no Sirloin steaks were available. Then waited another 30 minutes before deciding to leave. No attempt at an apology from staff when asking for the bill for drinks as I'd given watching people who arrived and ordered after me being served food. 2 hours after I arrived, no food had arrived. Avoid unless you want to wait hours for no food to arrive and deal with unhelpful staff.

Mains took ages to come. Wrong sauce was used for ribs, no coleslaw included and we were only told they were out of coleslaw when we enquired. Steak in mixed grill was overdone when we asked for medium rare. Charged £2 for peppercorn sauce that was never included. Not worth the price.

Staff were lovely, prawn cocktail was nice, the steak was good, the chips were cold and some were over cooked how he did that is a mystery, the calamari was nearly inedible and the char grilled prawns that came with my surf and turf were rubbery to the point that my jaw is still bouncing now three days later !

Waited over an hour for food. Had to cancel order and leave due to long wait times.
