We unfortunately had a negative experience last week at London Naru. As some reviews mentioned, the food was bland and soggy, lacking authentic flavors & textures. However what made the experience much worse was when we asked to have the service charge removed, a staff who I assumed the manager came and showed annoyance while telling us something along the line service charge was a London thing, and then literally asked us why we still ate the food if there were issues! We were flabbergasted. We didn’t finish the food, left 2/3 of the kimchi pancake dish and some rice.

The bibimbap was basically just boiled vegetables over rice, with no sauce at all. The rice was sticky and had a bad texture. The seafood pancake was mostly flour, overly soft, and extremely greasy on the outside. Every dish was mushy, like baby food. It looked great in photos but tasted awful in reality. On top of that, they forced a 12.5% service charge.

On a mission to find authentic, affordable restaurants since moving to London from Toronto, and this spot nails Korean food. Came for Saturday lunch and had bluefin tuna kimbap, vegan kimchi, chicken bibimbap, tuna maki, pan-fried chicken mandu, and black sesame ‘guk’ (my favourite), reminiscent of Chinese black sesame dessert porridge. Everything was fresh and made with quality ingredients. The upstairs dining space was cozy, clean, and inviting. I’ll be back to try more.

If u want to experience good authentic Korean cuisine, u should come to this restaurant!! It was the best bibimbap and seafood pajeon in my whole life even in the UK And the owner said they don’t use any MSG at all I really recommend here The seafood pancake and bibimbap here are really delicious. The seafood and green onion pancakes have a lot of ingredients on the outside and the inside, and the soy sauce that comes with it is also delicious. The bibimbap is mixed gently and the ingredients are perfectly cooked. I ordered stone pot bibimbap, but the lightly pressed rice was too big👍🏼 To eat bibimbap, go to London Naru instead of Jeonju,, The seasoning was just right!! How much effort did it take to create this flavor without using chemical seasonings? I felt proud as the boss spoke. The Japanese friend who went with me also said it was really delicious and thanked me for bringing it. Hihi, I was just as proud. May you prosper, boss😆💕

My partner and I get into our own little "trends" and for the last year we've been trying Korean restaurants everywhere we go and in an expanding radius. This restaurant is definitely the best of all we've tried so far (many!) and we go more or less weekly and any time we have guests visiting we take them. On top of some amazing fried chicken, there are many dishes that are light and full of vegetables, which allows for a lighter meal - even when we get a bit carried away with the amounts, digestion is fairly easy! Also, I love sushi, but since I have tried their gimbap I am an absolute convert! The staff are incredible, very attentive and accomodating and the venue is lovely and very well kept. 100% recommended

Tasty authentic food, very high quality sushi and gimbap. Probably my favourite Greenwich restaurant. Good choice of cheaper noodle/rice dishes and more premium meat/fish/sushi/sashimi choices. Would advise booking for peak times as the place is not large.

Food was ok. One waiter clearly has a flu. He kept coughing the whole time while serving tables (including delivering dishes and making tea). I was so worried and finished asap. If the own saw this, I hope that next time if your staff is ill, do not let them to come, otherwise your customers would just got sick. Edit, I got a flu the same day that I visited this restaurant. I think there is a high possibility that waiter passed the flu to me. I was sick for 2 weeks! Would not recommend this restaurant

Real Korean food. This is not the kind of Korean food that is only poorly imitated. It's better than most local Korean restaurants. I wanted to eat everything, but first I ordered soft tofu stew, stone pot bibimbap, and raw beef, and ate it all up. The menu looks exactly like the photo on the introduction page, and the type of vegetables and arrangement of the vegetables used in the bibimbap are done with great care. After eating, I even packed 2 rolls of kimbap. If I crave Korean food while I'm in Greenwich, I'll definitely have to take the bus and come.

Nice place when craving for some Korean flavours. Friend chicken is crispy and not too greasy, the sauces are really tasty. Edit rating: not sure what happened with the service, they couldn't find our reservation, then it took 45min for our food to arrive even if the restaurant was just half full, so bad... Now the restaurant claims that they always advise of longer waiting time during peak hours, which is totally a lie. I've been here regularly and was never warned that food could take 45min to be served

unexpectedly good! the kimchi jeon is perfect, crispy on the outside and warm, soft in the inside, theres a lot of kimchi inside too. sundubu jjigae is tad bit spicier than other korean restaurants that i have tried, LOVED that extra kick. the setting was very homey. we walked in going down the stairs without much thinking and one of the cook came down to explain that they don't have enough staffs to run all floors during that time which is fine. what i appreciate is that when he moved us upstairs, he told the waitress that we want to sit somewhere silent (cuz we went straight to the subbasement). everyone were smiling and being very attentive. will def come back!!!

I live just behind Naru and visit Naru frequently since they opened last year. However, the most recent meal I had when I brought 9 friends to visit the place last weekend was very disappointing. They were clearly unable to manage with the number of customers during lunch: 1) service was appalling - they served half the table and then proceeded to serve other customers. Some of my friends waited almost an hour for our food, the tteokbokki which is meant to be an appetiser came only at the very end. Had to follow up with the manager and explained the situation to them but even then, they looked confused and couldn’t tell which order has and has not been served. The worst is that some of us ordered the same dish but only a few of us were served the food; 2) we had a few wrong orders. We asked if the waiter should repeat our order and he said he didn’t need to; and 3) food was below par compared to the usual times we visit on weekdays.

A great Korean with lots of character. If you plan ahead you can reserve a seat at the counter where you can watch the chef prepare your food or at a floor table with mats. We tried the pork bibimbap, seafood pancake and tuna gimbap. All dishes were very tasty, my only minor complaint is I assumed the tuna in the gimbap would be fresh and it wasn’t (more like tinned tuna). But still a lovely meal overall!

The staff are lovely and very attentive and of course, the food, OH MY, OH MY the food is fantastic. Some of our must-haves are the Spicy Pork Gimbap, the Kimchi Pancake and the Korean Fried Chicken with the chili sauce. Today I tried the stone bowl Bibimbap and it was also beautiful, the bottom rice burnt at the perfect point, like paella’s socarrat. I've visited this restaurant twice recently, and it has some great Korean food! I highly recommend ❤️Bibimbap ❤️Gimbap, spicy pork flavour ❤️Dak bokkum These dishes were full of flavor and definitely worth trying. However, the Kimchijeon wasn’t as crispy as I would have liked, and the Haemultang was a bit too fishy for my taste. I’m looking forward to trying the Gomtang on my next visit—it was sold out when I was there, so it must be popular! Overall, a solid spot for Korean cuisine.

This is a traditional small Korean eatery in Greenwich which is a nice addition to the already diverse food culture in the neighbourhood. I tried the five selection of flavored vegetables and the beef bibimbap, with the peach tea. I like my food piping hot, so as the chilli sauce, even on a warm summer afternoon. The price is higher than some Korean restaurants in the City. For a beef bibimbap priced at £14, I would expect more beef. The vegetable selection which cost £8.5 is almost the same as those in the bibimbap.

Pajeons (pancakes) both kimchee and seafood were fluffy, crispy on the outside and not at all soggy. Kimbap was also amazing. I like this version of kimbap as it doesn't have too much rice and enough ingredients inside. I also had bibimbap, a lot of food but worth the calories. Restaurants near Greenwich Park London Naru Spread Eagle Yd, 3 Stockwell St, London SE10 9JN https://maps.app.goo.gl/4BVDZCsuhiVWu8jFA London Naru is a good Korean restaurant near Greenwich Park in London. The price is reasonable and the appearance is not eye-catching. It is mainly eaten by locals, so it is easy to miss. The layout on the second floor is quite simple and comfortable. The restaurant has two floors, but the dining space on the second floor is not large, so it is best to arrive before or after your meal. Nice Korean restaurant near Cutty Sark that comes with reasonable price. It’s very likely to be missed and you probably won’t notice there is a restaurant here. But once you go in, it’s a cute place and feels cosy. It has two floors but not big room so better to arrive before or after lunch time. I ordered tofu stew (as always) and it comes good portion and with much more varieties of ingredients than other places I’ve been to. Recently had a family outing in this lovely place. Good points 1. We were received by lovely staff, and adhered our baby for baby seat. 2. Very nice and clean. 3. Clean toilets for baby changing aswell. 4. Special care and attention was given to our baby with high chair, baby books and toys. 5. All the staff were welcoming even the chefs. Food 1. Food was good, But the service 2. Plenty of time was given to look at menu. 3. Food arrived okay. 4. Food were good, a bit slighty warmer would be better. Constructive points. 1. Wheel chair might not be accessible. 2. Although the place is cozy amd small , which can be a good and drawback as well. 3. It got busy quickly, might be lunch hour. Summary, Cozy nice place, for food and atmoshpere.

Went in here for a breakfast, can’t fault the value had a healthy breakfast (2 poached eggs, tomatoes, mushroom, 2 toast, beans & avocado) for a great price. However would suggest having larger plates to fit everything on and beans in a pot to keep warm. Unfortunately ordered a flat white & cappuccino and wasn’t great at all (more just like an instant coffee) would be great if they did proper barista style coffees. Overall was okay, don’t think I’d visit again for breakfast. Some of the fabric chairs were quite grubby as well and not sure if it was just when we went, but was very cold in there. I think a few small tweaks would go a long way.

Afternoon Tea- "Chai by the Shore" I was a little apprehensive at the idea of an Afternoon Tea with an ‘indian accent’ to treat my niece, visiting me from Bordeaux. But ‘Chai by the Shore’ was a most delightful experience. The Kinaara room was light an airy with impressive river views. The service was attentive and professional ,but not over formal or intimidating. The food was delicate and beautifully presented. All in all it was a most unusual enjoyable afternoon and a treat, having travelled to the O2/Intercontinental by Thames clipper boat. I will be repeating the experience in the summer with another appreciative French visitor.
