Let me just point out to the most objectionable and unpleasant human being that posted the toxic review on the 15th July. Firstly, stay at home and do not tarnish a beautiful village and friendly tearoom with your acrimonious and toxic personality. Secondly, I have been coming to the Lomond Tearoom since it opened. The family run business is the friendliest place you could ever have the good fortune to visit. The food and service is excellent and the staff and owners are friendly and welcoming. Anybody visiting Falkland should visit and enjoy the wonderful tearoom.

We planned our visit to this cafe as a pit stop from Letham Angus to our cycle ride around Loch Leven. After a 50 ish mile drive we were looking forward to a nice hot drink and a lite snack. On arrival we were welcomed (understatement) by a grumpy torn faced woman who advised us we’d get this table once she’d cleaned it. “There’s your table”. I then asked where the toilets were? “Through there!!” Bit sharp was my first thought. When in the bathroom I was surprised by the harsh worded hand written signs, the worst one related to the toilet brush!! On return to the table my partner pointed me in the direction of the warning sign on the counter regarding abusive behaviour from customers. We decided to leave the cafe due to the very negative vibes. To my horror - I was in the kilt shop around the corner and I can hear the grumpy original lady waving the menus about shouting in the street at my partner “was there something wrong with the table?” to his calm reply “nothing wrong with the table only your unwelcoming manner. I called the cafe and left a message with all my details asking for a return call, not received the call as yet. Bit of advice 1. Give your grumpy staff some well needed customer service skills 2. Rewrite your signs to put your point over in a friendlier manner Regards MN

This is the place where we ate the best breakfast in Scotland. we were welcomed with a smile, the staff were pleasant. the place is cute, we felt like we were at home. The dishes were generous and delicious. There is a variety of superb breakfast choices: croissants, toast, pancakes, various cakes, Scottish specialties,... a feast for the eyes and taste buds. we recommend 100%.

An excellent/lucky find when we were visiting Falkland and looking for some lunch after a visit to the palace. Plenty choices including gluten free options for a Celliac family member. The food we ordered was delicious. Friendly staff and excellent service.

What a hidden little gem just out of the main high street, definitely hunt this place down to enjoy the best food. On our trip to Falkland we visited for breakfast, lunch, cakes and even chocolates to take home with us! The staff went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed and just went above and beyond to make everything perfect.

Fantastic wee gem hidden in the back streets of Falkland. Well worth tracking it down. BLT is amazing and baked potato with haggis and neeps is amazing.

Well worth a visit - not on the main drag but all the better for it as another one we had attempted earlier was packed and they wanted to put 3 people around a small table for 2, by the toilet. The tearoom is bright and very clean. The cakes/traybakes well set out and varied. We had a tapas sharing plate and all the items were tasty and, for example, chicken strips and fish strips were very crispy. Good selection of drinks and friendly staff. Would recommend. Plus, enjoyed the music - not instrusive.

Great staff serving great food and drink. The building used to be a pub and they’ve converted it for a great local amenity. Chocolate shop attached too if you’re tempted.

First of all I'm just going to say it's not worth a visit. Apparently it's 'guaranteed warm welcome', that's a lie. The staff were surly and didn't really care for there customers. There were some people who came in and they were horrible to the customers. The customers should feel lucky though as there us another tearoom which looked better than this. The experience was odd. The cake was nice as were the scones. The ice cream were store bought as were the chips. Don't bring a family of 5 or more though. Their biggest table is for 4. If a family of 5 come in, the staff would get grumpy and wouldn't let you eat in! We wouldn't return.

A very nicely decorated coffee shop, opened earlier this year, I believe, converted from the former Lomond Tavern. A good menu choice, delicious-looking selection of cakes and baking, friendly service. Our one criticism would be the price of a cheese scone - at £3.25, this was over-priced, in our opinion. In all other respects, full marks!

The new owners Phil and Cathy have done a wonderful job in creating a relaxing and friendly place to sit and relax. The food is all home made and is to a very high standard and you are always made to feel welcome. Well worth a visit if you get the chance.

We have now been in the Lomond Tearoom a number of times and it never disappoints. Everything here really is home cooked and baked and you can tell ! The cake selection is a visual treat and they taste as good as they look. Best viennese whirls in Scotland and doughnuts to die for ! Very hard to choose between all the lovely cakes. A fantastic breakfast menu too, my favourite must be the delicious home made pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast then had to go back later for coffee and cake ! The staff are lovely and friendly, the place has a great vibe and you really are missing a treat if you don't go for a visit here ! The owner is also a chocolatier so you can take some hand made chocolates home too ! Cannot recommend the Lomond tea room highly enough. Falkland is lucky to have it !

A bit of the beaten track but worth it. If this café was in the city centre, it would be packed out every day! We enjoyed lovely, freshly made sandwiches in a cosy atmosphere and took some delicious cakes home. I hadn’t been for a while but it’s every bit as nice as I remember, we’ll definitely be back.

We didn't stay but went for lunch one Sunday. We booked but several groups turned up without booking and were able to get a table. The menu is the usual pub grub but nicely presented and service was quick. Ae chose the roast beef, meatball and curry with icecream and coffee to follow. All very tasty The welcome and service were frienly and efficient and the dining room light airy and spacious.

What a disappointment. I found the Bothy at Boglily on TA, loved the look of the place, the gorgeous photos of cooked food on their site and the good reviews. We are doing a road trip and this was going to be our Sunday morning treat. The car park was jammed with cars and we saw people standing in a queue to pet baby goats. Upon entering the inviting Bothy and asking a young man for a table, we were told that we couldn’t bring our dog in. Fair enough. Not every dining establishment is dog-friendly. Though I was a bit surprised as the restaurant is in a buffalo farm, there’s a petting zoo and it’s in the countryside. The sun was shining so I asked if we could order our meal and sit at the table on the deck, directly next to the door of The Bothy (see photo for proximity). The young man’s response was that they don’t offer takeaway. I queried whether a table one step from the door qualified as takeaway. It reminded me of the TV ad with the man trying to buy potatoes at a farm shop and being told that he can only pay with digital currency. People taking themselves so seriously that they don’t think of the customer experience. We had driven up from our holiday cottage at Kinghorn especially to get a nice cooked breakfast from their lovely menu, so my surprise and disappointment were apparent. I was directed to the outdoor kiosk they call the Milk Bar to order something from their limited selection. We ordered one Double Cheese Toastie with fries, a latte, an affogato milkshake ( made with buffalo milk ice cream) and a scone, which was on their menu. The two lovely servers told me that they don’t sell scones outside and I would have to go to the Bothy Café to get one. When I explained that I had been told up there that I couldn’t get anything from them takeaway, the young woman offered to go get one for me. They were both very sweet and I apologised for my previous grumpiness. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth the trouble. The cheese toastie and fries were served in a cardboard tray. The toastie was on “cheap white bread” according to my partner. I didn’t taste it. The fries and the milkshake however, were excellent. My scone was dry, cold and crumbled into breadcrumb texture when I tried to spread some butter on it. The crumb was impossible to pick up and eat but my dog liked it. It wasn’t worth eating for me as it then began to rain and we had to head for the car. I can’t help but think that the very cheerful, welcoming and upmarket website promises more than it delivers.
