Ordered a takeaway on Deliveroo… it was DISGUSTING. Spring rolls not fresh. Calamari smelled off and inedible. The chicken was dry and no flavour in the pad Thai. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy 😂

We just ordered a Deliveroo takeaway from here. The meat was dry and reheated and the flavours were Chinese not Thai and very bland and both the rice and the Thai crackers were old and stale. Absolutely DREADFUL.

Lombok Thai is one of my favourite restaurants in Herne Hill. We've eaten in (when it was allowed) and had many deliveries from them this year and the food has always been delicious! Their red thai curry is always my go to and my boyfriend loves their pad thai with prawn and chicken. Everything is reasonably priced and always fresh and tasty.

Might be premature as I didn't order much but what I did order was really delicious. My mum also tried the squid and liked it a lot. I will definitely order again for both of us in the future, so far so good. I'm also very happy with the hygiene rating, can't get any better than 5. Keep up the good work.

This South East Asian restaurant has been consistently good. During the Covid Lockdown they have switched take away only (either pick-up or deliveroo/uber eats. They have maintained their already high standards and produce food that it very fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced. Their Panang curry is to die for. Thoroughly recommended.

I was really excited when I read the menu for Lombok on Uber eats. It’s a bit pricier than most but I was confident after reading such good reviews! I’m not sure if we had perhaps picked the wrong items off the menu or everyone leaving these reviews enjoys the taste of bland cheap food, but this does not add up. Every dish we ordered was delivered in the same thin watery pond water ‘sauce’. The veg with ginger was soggy and bland. The chicken, chilli and ‘sweet oyster sauce’ sounded incredible - it was a tub of over boiled chicken in a thin watery gravy alongside copious amounts of tinned pineapple. The noodles were fine but nothing better than a micro noodle dish from Asda. The spring rolls were actually great - wish the portion was more than 4! Usually when a place charges £4.50 for egg fried rice - they can deliver to a standard to justify doing so. This is not the case here. Maybe they’re better as a restaurant but delivery is a no no.

Got takeaway from here as the bar/restaurant ban came in last night and they switched to takeaway only. The food was incredibly tasty, with the veggie pad thai the highlight (just - it was a very close call). All of the food was excellent, from the spring rolls through the mains. Collected through the front windows to minimise interaction, I'd thoroughly recommend it over the coming weeks. The next best thing to eating in there

I visited this restaurant at 6.30 on Saturday night. Although they were very busy with the restaurant and takeaways we were seated and served quickly by a very friendly girl. our drinks arrived quickly with tap water. My starter of a generous portion of satay chicken was delicious as was my main, garlic pork with a side of noodles. My family have lived in the area for years but this was my first visit. It certainly won't be my last! Excellent value too.

Well sited just over the road from the Half Moon and less than 5 minute walk from Herne Hill station. Only open in the evenings but you can get in early from 6pm. Family run, well prepared and tasty stuff. We only found it because it is almost next door to an exceptionally good Oxfam charity bookshop.

Haven't been here for ages and had forgotten just how good it is. We were squeezed in at the last minute and only had the table for a short period, but the brilliant service meant we never felt rushed and finished in plenty of time to give the table back. The food was a good as I remembered it and the bill was a lot less than I expected. Great night. I will go back for a more leisurely meal soon.

I have never had a Thai meal before and was excited to be invited by my son for a meal out with my wife. We booked a table for 7:15pm for people. on arrival, we were ushered to our table but had to squeeze in a tight space to or table. The atmosphere was cosy with a faint music playing at the background not overpowering the conversation of dinners. However, the place was very noisy as one can overhear the conversations from dinners next to our table due to the closeness of the table in the restaurant. There ere about 16 table in the restaurant with very limited space which makes it not wheelchair friendly. Food was delicious and service was swift from very friendly waiters. Overall, it was a lovely company and well very much revisit the restaurant again.

Best dinner we’ve had at one of our favourite local haunts! My husband and I had the specials - duck spring rolls, spicy squid, duck Penang curry, crispy sea bass in chilli sauce - and it didn’t disappoint. It was superb! Great friendly service In a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Thank you so much Lombok.

Love this local restaurant, great place for families with children, friends or date nights. Always great service, freshly cooked food and the vegan options are great! Always happy with whatever I choose and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Keep up the good work, I’ll be back soon

We come here regularly as it is local- we feel lucky to have such a delicious restaurant so close to us! The service is always outstanding, we have never had to wait for any food or drink. The food is amazing - I would particularly recommend the starters from the specials board. Thank you Lombok!

Tucked away in Dulwich area, this family run Thai restaurant is a real gem. Varied menu is very reasonably priced as is the drinks list. Service is excellent and the whole atmosphere is very friendly.

Pedí la carne de miel, estaba bien, no hay nada de que quejarse y una porción muy generosa también, pero los curries eran las estrellas. En particular, me encantó el pollo al curry de la jungla: un caldo aromático y picante con una patada fuerte y picante, pero no agobiante. Black bean beef (without rice), a generous glass of wine and the compulsory 10% service came to £14.50 yet I was charged £17.50.

Came for dinner with a friend. Delicious food - calamari & papaya salad (was v hot!) to start, then seabass, prawns, noodles & rice. All excellent and tasty with specials on offer too. Reasonable wine selection. Would visit again

Great place; keeping that authentic thai flavour but in a modern setting. The new management are really nice, and were very welcoming - even when we had asked for vegan-friendly options! Duck curry is a must however! 😁

Authentic Thai food. Clean and good taste. I like curry and stir fried basil. Reasonable price. Nice and Relaxing ambience for dining out with friends or families. They also do take away. I would definitely go back there again.

Dined here on Friday evening and had a great meal. We booked and I recommend you do because they turned a lot of people away during the time we were there as they were fully booked. We tried the spicy chicken wings, Thai fishcakes, prawn jungle curry and honey chicken. I would recommend them all. The honey chicken wasn’t anything special, and was quite small but it was still tasty. Everything else would be highly recommended. Overall it’s great value for money too.

Carne de selva principal curry, ordenados tuve que llamar al camarero para ser honesto no tenía sabor y carne no fresca, camarero tomó distancia, trajo el mismo plato trasero disculparse, fue horrible tanto especias tenía carne añadida no era apta para el consumo. Me quejé a la gerente y insistió en que él no probado y respondió "no debería saber como que "yo prefiero que de la factura, no hay disculpa. . No volveré a visitar un lugar en cualquier momento pronto.

Este es un restaurante local con frecuencia nos llevar, pero nos fuimos a cenar, esta vez en su lugar. Entrantes eran increíbles. Compartimos dim sum y calamares ambos estaban deliciosos. Los platos principales eran excelentes. Yo tenía una hermosa gambas caliente con setas y fideos transparentes. Terminado con banana buñuelos tan buena!

Estuvimos aquí por última vez hace un par de años. Servicio muy ordinario y antipático. Ahora bajo nueva administración y después de una mejora general, es una experiencia muy diferente. Y lleno de comensales, lo que confirmó nuestra opinión sobre la calidad de la comida, precios razonables y un muy buen servicio.

We visited on Saturday night with 2 grandchildren. The restaurant fitted us in for an early supper which suited us fine. Good menu and very enjoyable food. Service was extremely good. Altogether a very good experience. Probably need to book.

Mi nuevo favorito restaurante tailandés en Londres. Comida tailandesa preparada por chefs tailandeses hace la experiencia tan auténtica. El menú es sencillo de leer pero con un montón de opciones. El pato y lychee curry es un favorito personal y me lleva directamente a veces viajando por el Este de Tailandia. El personal es muy amable y te tratan como familia. Excelentes precios en un entorno moderno, lo recomendaría a cualquiera.

De passage dans le coin...As a thai food fanatic,it was a cold snowy evening,from outside looking at the menu,i wanted to have a try..it was on of my best decision..Waooohhh OHLALA..What a great experience..Freeezing temperature ,once i walking, i have convince by the welcoming staff,great smile and you can clearly see that nothing is too much for them..even i asked to be seated in different table but politly been told ,its reserved,no worry Bro!!!I had Chang lager and an absolutly first class Jungle sizzling lamb..What a tasty well well cooked food..Hi Guys the Chef know what he is doing..Staffs wise,two amazing girls doing great service,set and resetting table with a great table maintenance..Que demande le peuple? This restaurant has recently come under new management and they have done a brilliant job. A varied menu with lots of delicious options (I recommend the coconut king prawns). Good service and very nice inside. Will definitely come back.

I’ve lived in Herne Hill for 35+ years and witnessed Lombok deteriorate under its previous management. Things have now changed under new ownership. The quality of the overall offering is obviously constrained by the price positioning and the premises, but setting this aside, it offers a good range of interesting freshly cooked Thai food in a comfortable setting. Service was excellent -the staff were more than happy to help with dish selection and comments on food combination. Nothing was too much trouble. Very good value for money - a much better dining experience fhan you often get in similarly priced Thai restaurants.

La carne Penang es tan rica, gruesas y delicioso. El massamum también era encantador, pero al final ganó el Penang. El pescado al curry amarillo era también un plato delicioso de cata delicado,. Habíamos estado buscando un buen curry amarillo desde Tailandia.

What a terrible, terrible title - but we to stick with it, The people have spoken in this democracy and we must now all pull together and make the best of such a shoddy title. Let's not get involved in the pointless squabbling and rancour behind the emotional campaign to title this review, we must put it behind us and look forward to the bright new future possible with the democratically chosen title. Visited with my family. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and welcoming. We had dined here over ten years ago so nice to see it's still in business. Would definitely return!

Second time to the restaurant/take away, this time was much poorer. The meats were chewy, reheated and tasted a little strange / low quality. The service was very poor indeed, rushed as we were giving our order, even though the restaurant was empty.

If you can't be bothered queuing in the cold outside Kaosarn on Friday night, head here for some good South London Thai, you will find a seat (even on Friday).Service was quick with no frills, price was about right for this sort of establishment.Pad Kee Mao contained both Seafood and Chicken, the squid was a little chewy and hard. Rest of the dish tasted excellent.Panang Curry tasted just right, however contained 3 small mushrooms which was puzzling as I've never had this ingredient in such a dish. Left these on the side.Recommended starter: Chicken Satay. They have Singha Beer.

Such a friendly and calm atmosphere, great value and enough choiced for thai food and drinks (even the Thai-wine is no longer imported) and accepts credit cards (not Amex though).Had the Pad thai with chicken and prawn. At the first sight the portion seemed quite small, but was really more than adequate - after tasty starters that is. If you can manage, don't skip the desserts either!Would recommend!

We go to Lombok quite frequently and it's become a firm favourite. Good food, unpretentious and the staff are friendly. The salt and pepper squid starter is always perfectly done and the panang curry is the stuff of legend. We always leave happy and full!

Like lots of people in Herne Hill we've been sucked into the Brixton Village Market vibe. But last night we decided to go local and had food that was better than almost anything available in BVM. It's a lovely little restaurant, the staff were really friendly, food came at a good pace and, most importantly, it tasted delicious. £20/head for a starter, two mains, two rice and a vegetable side plus a bottle of fizzy water. Would recommend.

The first time I've been to Lombok I asked the waitress if they had vegan food and she offered me a Thai Green Curry with tofu. Great I thought and went back there just ten days later. Then I was told that actually the curry had milk in it and to top it off also had fish sauce in it. So not only wasn't it vegan but also not even vegetarian. As you can imagine, I was pretty angry. The waitress then offered me the "vegetarian" soup but after asking the right questions she told me that it was made with chicken stock. The soup is marked as vegetarian on the menu, although it is made with chicken. It is unbelievable how in this day and age a restaurant doesn't understand the concept of vegetarians and vegans. Turned out there was NOTHING on the menu I could eat. This was a few days ago and I am still angry that they served me food with fish and milk in it although I specifically explained to them that I don't eat anything from animals. If I could give zero points I would've done that!

We stumbled upon this place by using the TripAdvisor app's feature "Near Me". The restaurant looked full, which we thought was a good sign and we were not disappointed. They had my favorite wine on the wine list Gewürztraminer. The starters came very quickly and were gorgeous. My husband asked to spice up his Massaman curry and he said it was the best Thai meal he had for ages. I ordered a dish from their Chef Recommendation list. It was mixed sea food curry with dressed crab, prawns and mussels. It was delicious. The restaurant was full of local regulars, so it is not a place for a first date as deco is very plain. But if you need a casual meal with your friends or partner, don't look any further!

We are local to Lombok and try to support the business as it fell victim to the flooding a couple of years back and was out of action for over a year. It always used to be delicious food and the service was efficient. We go back quite a bit. We visited again last night after a terrible and frustrating attempt to go to The Lido Cafe in Brockwell Park as we thought it was such a lovely and warm evening. We had starters and curries and everything was of a good standard. I must admit though, that on a couple of occasions since the re-opening the phad-tai dish had a chicken meat which did not taste fresh at all. I refrain from having that dish since that time. The curries are excellent and I hope this feedback will encourage the restaurant to ensure the quality of their food meets the standard to which many local people became accustomed to.

Every dish was well below average. It used to be my favourite Thai restaurant but something has gone wrong recently, others must agree as evident from the number of customers on a Saturday night. It used to be full, now practically empty. Please address your food quality and return to your former glory quickly.

We recently visited this restaurant for a Saturday evening meal. When booking we were told that we couldn't get a table at 9pm, but 9:15 was fine. On arrival there were only two tables of couples in the restaurant - not sure why 9pm was inconvenient. The food was tasty enough - the soups lacked fieriness. The crab main was overcooked and disappointing. And we felt rushed towards the end with waiting team repeatedly asking if we wanted anything else as the kitchen was closing. And why do some restaurants insist on giving bills with just the accumulative totals rather than being itemised. All in all, it was an okay meal but disappointing.

I love this place but my foodie GF says the food is disappointing. I disagree, finding it tasty and good value. I like the staff too. The tables are a bit close together, but it's a small place and they have to watch their margins, so I forgive them.

We got there quite late in the evening and they informed us the kitchen was going to close soon, but they were happy to accommodate us - they also asked if we wanted dessert before closing. Cannot give the 5star simply because the food was fresh and nicely cooked, but I wasn't blown away.

Looks as if I agree with many others. The food was perfectly ok, but lacked anything to tempt one back, especially when one knows how good Thai food can be. The service was brusque, unfriendly, almost rude.

This restaurant is tucked away slightly on Half Moon Lane, and definitely worth a visit. The Panang curry is absolutely delicious, and my husband loves their Jungle curry. A friendly atmosphere and pretty good value, we've been back there regularly - best restaurant we've found in Herne Hill.

Its such a shame that this restaurant that looks so inviting in Herne Hill turns out to be such a disappointment. I've been here a few times over the years I've lived round here and live in hope that it will get better… I hope it does. It would be great to have a good quality SE Asian restaurant in the neighbourhood. So a small of group of us visited this weekend. My disappointment was around the following:-The waiting staff were cold and difficult to engage with. The lead waitress was down right rude.- We asked for more prawn crackers and felt scolded at this request and sternly told more prawn crackers cost more money.- When my rice came, it was clearly barely warm. When I told the waitress this, she put her hand on the rice and told me it was warm, looking like she now expected me to eat this. - I also had a Thai chicken stir fry. The menu clearly stated this would be with Thai basil leaves. Sadly this was obviously with Mediterranean basil. I asked the waiter about this. He simply disagreed and walked away. - The chicken had a processed taste and and texture to it. Perhaps I expect too much… in expecting fresh produce. We decided not to pay the service charge due to the above. I spoke to the waitress about this and had hoped to discuss this with her but she just walked off with the money. Rude!

The food was ok - nothing special but not bad. They used Italian basil instead of Thai basil (and denied it when we mentioned it to them). The worst thing was the service - the staff were really surly. I didn't see any of them smile at us, or any of the other customers, at all during the evening - which there's no excuse for. They could so easily up their game with minimal effort. But as it stands, I wouldn't go back here.

Went to this restaurant for the first time on Saturday 19.07.14. One poor waitress serving the whole restaurant (although only one third capacity filled). Although she tried her best, it took one full hour from first being seated to receiving our meal - we had to request a drink. Her useless, disinterested colleague (man wearing DIRTY JEANS AND TRAINERS) just stood around in the back watching her work. He occasionally left his lair to hand customers the card machine and spoke few words - not because he didn't speak English we discovered, but because he really couldn't be bothered. Unfortunately poor service overshadowed the food. Will not be going back.

We love the Lombok. Shame to see a few negative reviews. Recently we have taken to visiting early evening straight after work so perhaps a better experience as it isn't so busy. We have never had bad food or service and always surprised at how relatively inexpensive even when drinking Prosecco! The staff are very friendly and will happily chat about Thai food, the meaning of some of the Thai décor etc. The restaurant is small but the interior is lovely and we could happily sit there all evening. I can not recall anything bad to say about the food. It is delicious and seems authentic (we do eat at Thai restaurants quite a lot) Time for another visit. We'll be in there next week!

We ordered a quarter peking duck to start, which was far too dry and came with a watered down plum sauce. This was followed by a seafood curry, which was oily with seafood that had clearly been frozen. What propelled me into writing this review, was the terrible service that accompanied this very average meal. We were left with our dirty plates in front of us and ignored when we asked for the bill, even when we stood up the waitress continued to fold napkins, rather than taking our money for the meal.

After being recommended to this place we went last night-had a reservation-they greeted us with indifference-after being seated for five minutes I asked the waitress if I could order drinks-was told gruffly that she would be back(the restaurant was quiet at this time) after another wait I had to get her attention-when she came over wanted to take order for food-her attitutude was gruff and rude so we decided to leave and give our money to their competition in Crystal Palace

We have been desperate to try this restaurant and finally had the chance. We were met at the door by an unhappy waiter, our order was taken by an even unhappier waitress and our meal was served without a smile. We felt guilty walking into the restaurant and asking for food. The starters were lovely but the main meal (we played "if you find a piece of chicken you win a prize" game) came with a fly in it. This ended our disastrous meal and I took the children home for more food. The manager of the restaurant was gracious enough not to charge us for the dish garnished with a fly and removed the service charge - we wouldn't have paid it anyway as we didn't receive any service. We will not be returning to Lombok.

Went here for my boyfriends birthday, there were 9 of us and we only booked on the day but it was no problem for them. I brought a cake I had made and they were happy to store it in their fridge until cake time (and gave me some candles as I had forgotten!). Food was delicious, I had the prawn Penang curry and am still dreaming about it now! We all ordered starters and mains, they all came in good time and the staff we really friendly.

Visited here for the first time. Lombok has a fusion of Thai, Burmese and Vietnamese cuisine on its menu. It all started very well. Good service. Great wine. The starters were excellent and really tasty - lovely chicken satay and pspicy peanut sauce and really terrific corn and ladyfinger cakes with the ubiquitous chilli dip.However, my main course was a real let down. I had chicken with chilli and hot basil leaves. It seemed to have been made with dried basil as opposed to fresh basil leaves. The sauce was very fishy and heavy on the dark soy sauce. Loads of onions and green beans padded out the contents of the plate along with the slightly chewy chicken and nice fresh chillies. The coconut rice was fine and tasty.The pudding menu was not at all exiciting and nothing tempted me. The starters and the wine saved the day.My wife had the scallops and said that although they were a bit bland/watery tasting (probably frozen), the sauce was really nice.I may go back some time and try a different main course.

I have visited this small family run restaurant several times now. The menu appears to be becoming increasingly pan-asian but the quality is consistently good and it represents excellent value for money. It always seems a good idea to book as it is usually packed...deservedly so. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I have only had takeaways from here but have always enjoyed the food. Whenever I go in the place is always busy, the Thai staff are very friendly, food is produced very quickly and the prices are pretty decent. The menu is quite extensive and offers dishes from beyond the borders of Thailand as well. Definitely recommended.

I went on Tuesday with a friend and the place was packed - always a sign that a restaurant is good if it is busy next week.The food was delicious, the menu was really varied but not overly long and it was very good value. (2 people have 2 courses for £40) I had an amazing spicy sea food curry and they thoughtfully gave me crackers to cope with the crab claws. My partner had a beef dish which was also excellent.I know is sounds silly but it was also such a treat to go to a Thai restaurant that didn't have a single waving lucky cat as part of the decor.

This is a good local restaurant. The service is friendly and attentive.The food is delicious and it is not over-priced. The pad thai is particularly good as are the beef panang and the duck curries(red and green) the soups are hot and spicy and the chicken satay and its accompanying peanut sauce is always a favourite.

Nice food and excellent value. Only down side was that waitress was a bit abrupt. Mayb because we arrived at 10pm.

It's a small, ambient space and the food is fresh, spicy and tasty - with some interesting, piquant sauces. It's a restaurant I like to go to regularly with friends as it's an atmosphere conducive to discussion and the prices are very low, so no one feels overwhelmed when the bill comes in.

With the only firework display in Lambeth being held in Brockwell Park this year, there was always going to be a pressure on the local bars and restaurants, so we booked early as we were a big group (10). The table was ready for us, and the place was as busy as expected. The wine list was very reasonable with Chablis and Sancerre at £19.99 each, house wine about £12. We had a huge variety of dishes and the menu had an extensive choice. The seafood curry including crab legs was a success as were all our starters. The one disappointment was the duck & pakchoi dish (main) which wasn't hot and between us there were 2 of these ordered - when we complained it was taken away and reheated (presumably in a microwave), but given we were all sharing dishes this wasn't really acceptable as we'd all put it back onto the orginal dish from our plates. Overall, if you live near here it's probably worth a visit.

It's definitely the best restaurant in Heren Hill and around. So if you live locally or visiting, it's really worth to go there. The food is very good and some dishes are different than in other Thai places I've been to. Stuff is nice and they serve the food quick even if it's quite busy. Nice design and atmosphere.
