L'oliveta Restaurant in Basildon

22/11/24. We came for lunch, it was very good. Freshly cooked, hot food. Good portion size, plenty of food/drink options on the menu. Staff were constantly cleaning/clearing tables. It was very busy, but we were given a table straight away, short wait for our food. Recommended 2018. First visit today. Clean restaurant and tables. Spacious, with friendly and polite staff. Good selection of food reasonably priced

Loved coming here before but it is now a trap as everything is over expensive for what you get. Changing for sandwiches to be toasted and alternative milks is ridiculous! Gluten free available and while the food does taste nice and fresh the coffee is like cups of lava

We come here quite often when we visit the garden centre and they're always busy (which is always a good sign). The food is well presented and always hot and fresh, you don't get the feeling that it's been sitting under the hot lamp either. The staff always make you feel welcome and it is a nice way to finish off the trip to a garden centre

The food is so delectable and the workers know how to treat customers well. Also the astonishing wooden tables are so clean, you should be able to see your own reflection in them overall this is the best family run restaurant

Lovely place, the food is excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Dirty oil used for frying everything, so greasy, , drinks watery and had to get the moccha remade it was so bad. Tasteless scampi and poorly filled To top it off, stomach ache after and the same night! How this has a 5star hygeind rating I don't know Also expensive for what you get Given 2 stars rather than one as cakes were nice and staff ok

I had an absolutely dreadful experience this morning at Loliveta. The host who was supposed to guide people to their tables had an incredibly argumentative attitude. The main issue that really bothered me was the way he spoke to me. He started off by questioning how many people I needed a table for, which was quite unnecessary. Then, he abruptly told me that I couldn't bring my own food onto the premises, even though I didn't have any food or drinks with me in the first place. Later on, I returned to the restaurant to get a second table for three lovely ladies who were in wheelchairs. To my astonishment, there were more than five empty tables available, but when I asked the host about it, he responded with a dismissive remark, saying, "We don't have tables for wheelchairs." I was absolutely livid at the way he made my lovely ladies feel. It was truly disheartening and left me utterly disgusted with the level of service provided at this establishment.

Terrible service, poor attitude from the staff. Served my partner a cheese, bacon and baked beans in a jacket potato despite clearly informing them that she is a vegetarian and has an allergy to pork. Also observed countless patrons return food back because they got the order wrong. Normally don’t post reviews, however here we are!

Food was mediocre and tasteless. The cappuccino was very diluted and froth was watery I thought pictures look good and was expecting good food but was very disappointed.

Timings on the website and on google are incorrect, I checked the website for timings specifically to ensure I would be able to bring my children for a drink and cake arrived at 3:30. Went to approach the restraunt and was promptly told that they closed at 3:30. The member of staff went to check with her manager who was sat over the other side of the restaurant who was rude and dismissive. He totally denied what it said on the website and honestly seemed like he couldn’t even be bothered. Staff were hoovering and cleaning around people still sitting eating and drinking their food which is pretty unprofessional in my personal opinion. Got two very disappointed children and seems like such a shame.

Brilliant restaurant. We dine here regularly. The staff and owners are lovely and produce really excellent food at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend L'oliveta as a wonderful place to eat especially if you love Italian food.

Very good food and the staff are all very friendly and pleasant We will certainly come back again

Went here today with my wife we ordered some food a coffee and tea I had a coffee the cup was dirty on the outside my wife had a tea the milk jug was disgusting and dirty bits of I don't know what on the inside of the jug and in the milk I took the coffee and the milk jug back to the counter and told a staff member ( I think he was the manager/owner) and all he said was it has never happened before. No apology I asked for a fresh cup of coffee and and milk and also asked to see the jug and the cup before they put anything in them so I could be sure they were clean . I will never eat or drink in this cafe again if you do check for dirty cups ect . I wouldn't recommend this place for a dog to eat at good luck

Lovely scampi and chips, tartare sauce was very good. Amazing gluten free and dairy free spaghetti dish with loads of king prawns. Very tasty and hot almond milk latte and the mocha was very chocolatey. Quick, polite and friendly service. 2 very happy customers.

Good Full English Breakfast. Seating was a bit cramped with push chairs in the isles, and plates were taken away far too quickly which made you feel rushed as they wanted to get rid of you. Overall food was nice.

Good food, great coffee, nice and friendly environment, highly recommended.
